He speaks to young people in a way they can relate to. He doesn’t mock them (much), he speaks with kindness, and respects their feelings.
He just lays out the facts in a way no one can deny.
He is also misguided. The reality is that the cheap and environmentally sound energy is already in use across the globe. Its known as fossil fuel. There is no climate emergency, there’s no ‘energy’ emergency. Fundamentally, economically, environmentally and sustainability the answer is fossil fuel (Oil, Gas, Propane, Natural Gas, yes Coal) are the best forms of energy at this juncture in the development of humans. Fossil fuels usage has made everyone’s life on God’s green earth better. It’s simple fact. Do not for one second by into the CO2 is bad argument. Its a straw man.

I’ll add one more fact to his presentation. The influence of increasing levels CO2 is not linear.
Rather higher levels of CO2 have less and less influence. CO2 only reflects back certain wavelengths of heat radiation. Thus once you hit the saturation point additional amounts will do very little additional reflection. Imagine putting up a dark blind in a window. Some light still gets through. Now put a sheet of plywood over it sealed at its edges. More layers of plywood will not make it any darker in the room.

I worked with Naomi Oreskes. She does not have a science degree. I showed up at one of her lectures. It did not go well for her. Her book on climate change is utter nonsense. I sensed she got a little pissed when I said she should refund her student’s money.
Naomi has completely bought into the climate change mantra. Mainly tho, Naomi is a professor looking to enhance her net worth. La Jolla ain’t cheap. She accomplishes this by writing nonsensical books with paragraphs like the two above which state the incredibly obvious.

I’m still catching up from last week and read this last night. It infuriated me last night. and still, to this moment. Here is the first paragraph which explains the gist of all else that follows:

As an electrical engineer I’d really like to see a cost analysis from these folks on adding the electrical capacity to each home and apartment complex to convert from gas stoves and gas heat to all electric. Then the cost analysis for upgrading the local power lines to these residences. Then the cost analysis for upgrading the grid supplying power to the towns. Then the cost analysis for adding the power plants to supply this additional power. And finally, the environmental impact of the power plant to supply the electricity given the massive inefficiency of transporting large amounts of power via the grid.

40 or so years ago, in my high rise dormitory in a small town in north central TX, there was a kitchen with a real electric stove, on every other floor. And a refridgerator. Your food disappeared in the fridge. The sink was always stopped up. One practically had to make a reservation to use the stove/oven. It was often controlled and monopolized by other students. They did not dare try to take money for a ‘reservation’.
I don’t see that as a good idea in today’s world.

A Thursday tweet from the NY Post‘s Miranda Devine containing a background check for Hunter Biden has people asking questions.
“The now-52-year-old began listing the Wilmington home as his address following his 2017 divorce from ex-wife Kathleen Buhle — even falsely claiming he owned the property on a July 2018 background check form as part of a rental application,” the Post reported.
Yet, upon closer inspection, Hunter lists the “Monthly Rent” as $49,910 – or roughly $550,000 for the 11 months he indicated he lived there?

Interesting morning so far. it said to me that’s what the result of this new fangled Church committee is going to end up doing – not getting rid of the FISC courts or ending the FISA warrants that the DOJ and apparently every other agency of our government used (except congress), but that Congress will be writing a new law giving the members of Congress the authority to arrest people they don’t like.

There are now stories of 5-week Combat Training Cycles at NATO Ranges and Maneuver Areas to “create Ukrainian battalion sized units equipped with NATO weapons”. The first “battalion” soon to ship out. Also, recall that the latest Colonel (ret) MacGregor interview postulated a Russian Offensive about to begin in areas where the Ukrainians and their NATO support troops are having trouble holding ground..
5-weeks training is just enough time to integrate TRAINED NATO Volunteers + a few token Ukrainians (for media purposes) into company and possibly Battalion Sized Combat Units. US Army ARTEP cycles for trained units to become “qualified” are longer than 5-weeks.
It is total BS that NATO is going to turn UNTRAINED, teen-age Ukrainian Recruits into anything even closely resembling a combat battalion equipped with unfamiliar modern weapons.
NATO has many live fire qualification ranges as well as live maneuver areas to do this training, which are still in use or easily put back into commission, across Europe.
NATO is about to increase the number of NATO troops involved in the conflict.
Go back to Desert Storm I (1990), Desert Storm II (2001) as well as the 20 years of deployment cycles for US Combat Units to: Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Africa, etc.
It is standard procedure to run TRAINED units in transit through an ARTEP Cycle to sharpen them before they deploy into a specific tactical environment.
Our NATO ALLIES do the same thing for their units and used the exact same Ranges and Maneuver Areas as the US at times.
NATO is about to do something very very dangerous.
ALL this while Sock Puppet Joe’s document drama plays out and prayer wheel confessions over COVID or COVID Injections dominate the news.
Just like the last major infusion of NATO weapons, look at the lists again. The equipment promised WILL EQUIP Standard NATO Combined Arms Teams and Task Forces. The weapons ARE NOT going to the Ukrainians. That Story and corruption are cover stories for equipping NATO “Volunteer” Units.
It will be very interesting to watch how largely de-industrialized NATO/EU/USA will actually fare against a huge, self-sufficient country that can continuously MANUFACTURE everything it needs. Modern warfare consumes resources in prodigious quantities and is therefore very much a contest of manufacturing …
Those “wonder weapons” don’t look so wonderful if your enemy drops a precision weapon and blows up(!) 500 tons = $1 billion worth of the stuff and you can’t immediately replace it. 🤡
NATO would do well to remember that it hasn’t fought a “real” enemy in eighty years. Its only engagements were “wars of choice” against poorly organized desert dwellers, and it was none too successful with most(!) of those! This could well be what “defeat” looks like.
