With the Kevin McCarthy drama at present “solved” it made me reflect back to 2010 and to what extent these criminals are willing to go to keep the uniparty in power. They fear We The People! …and in the long run they should.

that said, I would say it a little differently… at this point, the “patriots” have still not decided that their life, treasure, time, freedom, etc… that they have left even as it slips further away… is not worth putting at risk to take back our liberty. As such, we are all still, implicitly consenting to be governed. we have decided we are willing to let them stay in power in exchange for what remains of our stuff and our life.
the biggest problem with that is how far we will let this fall, and whether the threshold will be crossed for enough people at the same time as to be meaningful and effective before its too late.

Example: The military does not fight for America, but for corporate/banking interests. Corporations/bankers are not Patriots, and likewise, neither is the military. If the military were Patriots, they would be defending the southern border from the invasion onto our soil.

I’ve answered this question several times on this forum (mostly to crickets).
First of all, mere thousands of protestors (and by the way, the vast majority of the J6 protestors were NOT armed that day so that doesn’t count as an example of what I’m talking about at all) is not the answer. But if our side came out in mass … literally taking to the streets in the millions … armed … to protest obvious cheating and demand a trustworthy recount or revote, it would be a different thing. In the first case they just ignored our concerns … indeed used the tiny protest to further their agenda. What I’m proposing would definitely give them pause.
First of all. We would easily outnumber all the other side’s armed personnel COMBINED. So they’d know that if they tried to stop the protests with armed might, they might well end up in a full blown civil war where our side would have many, many advantages. Let me list *some* of them.
First of all, numbers. If just 3 or 4 percent of the armed populace in this country were to take to the streets at once, armed … we’d outnumber ALL the federal agents, police and military in the country, combined. And the left can’t depend on all of those being on their side in the first place. Many might join our cause or just stand down and wait to see what happens.
Now I’ve heard naysayers voice concern about all the tanks and bombers and nuclear weapons the other side could use. I suggest those wouldn’t be very useful in US cities, where any sort of battle between our two sides would likely be fought, assuming they could even get the US military to attack Americans with them. And the other side and their families live in cities. Do you think the US military or police are willing to destroy those places just to keep Biden and the UNIPARTY in power under very questionable circumstances where we aren’t asking anything unreasonable?
It can’t be emphasized enough that most of the UNIPARTY elite and police, FBI, DOJ, IRS, military families live amongst us … and there is no way they can do otherwise in the near future. That makes them exceedingly vulnerable … and not just to *violence* (which should be last resort, mind you). They depend on us for just about every necessity of life. Literally.
They don’t have separate supply chains like the communists created in the the USSR, China and North Korea. Their sources of food, electricity, water, sanitation, natural gas, gasoline, healthcare, clothing, etc etc etc are all in our hands. In a matter of weeks, they might find themselves without ANY of those things, whereas our side would not be nearly as vulnerable in that regard.
Also, the UNIPARTY is working to try and centralize power, food, water and communications for reasons of control, but for the most part we are still decentralized. And that’s a big advantage TO OUR SIDE in this situation. To gain control of those things they’d need, they’d have to enter Indian Country, where they will be very vulnerable to small unit attacks.
This would not be a set piece battle with front lines. Their leadership would be very vulnerable. Unlike in the USSR of old or China these days, they don’t live in centralized communities (even cities) defended by the military with their own separate supply chains for all they need and want. But give them time and they will.
And keep in mind that the elites behind this coup love their luxuries ABOVE ALL ELSE. They don’t believe in that communist mumble jumble they spout about equality. After they win, they will live high on the hog just like the Soviet and Chinese leadership did and do. Think Hunger Games.
So they should be told at the outset, that if fighting breaks out, they will lose those luxuries, for good, even if they win. Their armed forces will not be able to defend the source of those luxuries. They’ll have enough on their hands just trying to protect themselves and their families and where they live.
So how strong is their resolve? Would they give up the good life for the UNIPARTY’s ideology?
And it’s not just the number of guns in civilian hands that’s a problem for them. There are over 400 million guns. Those could be distributed to currently unarmed citizens. So if only 4-6% of those guns took to the street in protest, federal and state agencies, the police and the military might be outgunned many times over. You think that wouldn’t have a sobering effect on their reaction to the protest?
Furthermore, many unarmed people would likely join protestor ranks, making it hard to identify who is armed and even harder to control the protestors. And should 6-10 percent of the armed populace joined the protests, even for one day, that would surely scare the bejesus out of them. Cause them to stand down. Because if fighting came, they could very well be facing 30 percent of the armed populace and be outnumbered 4 or 6 to one.
Furthermore, historical guerrilla movements have shown that other things can be made deadly to elite officials, their families, their suppliers, and even armed forces. They can’t just worry about guns. The Chinese have proven that knives can be quite deadly. And do you think our side would be incapable of building and using bombs and IEDs, creating poisons, using drones, and 3D printing weapons that they can’t even detect? We are not helpless even in this high tech age.
We are not helpless. Not by any means. Not in mass, and in mass is how the Founders intended the 2nd Amendment to be used if the government became a problem. A citizens army just like they used to wrest their freedom from a British tyrant. Fighting much the same way they fought.
And as for organizing such a fight, I imagine that if fighting started it would be self-organizing because every small distinct group … even individuals … could look for vulnerability and exploit it. This wouldn’t be a set piece battle with front lines. It would be much like what the Swamp Fox conducted.
So …… I believe that a MASSIVE show of armed WILL … not violence … is essential if we’re going to prevent eventual violence. We need to convince the elites behind what’s happening … in a VISCERAL way… that we can seriously threaten their lives of luxuries and their lives themselves … and that we will do so if they don’t stop this attempt to subjugate us. Restore and Respect the Constitution And Bill Of Rights. Anything less is not acceptable.
They (and that includes the media) need to see that it’s not just a few of us that will fight them. A demonstration … a statement …. needs to be made … one they can’t possibly ignore or dismiss … that it’s *we* who control the food, water, power, sanitation, transportation systems, medical system, communication systems, distribution networks, … everything that makes society function … that makes their lives of luxury possible.
They need a demonstration that we are everywhere … where they work, where they live, where they send their kids to school, where they vacation … and that they won’t be able to hide from us if this blows up. THAT *might*, alone, be enough to halt this slide into 1984.
Right now, they are not prepared to face an armed and furious populace demanding free and fair elections. So I’m fairly confident of a peaceful outcome if we do what I suggest. If not, I’m still confident of the outcome should they try to employ force against us.
But time is not on our side. As long as we continue to fight as we are … through pontification and trying to out vote or out ballot them, by trying to be nice and lawful in what are no-longer lawful situation, they get to go on living in nice houses, eating at fancy restaurants, driving nice cars, sending their kids to good schools, being entertained, having servants at their beck and call … in short, living a life of luxury. We can threaten that now but can we a decade from now?
Give them a couple decades of absolute rule at the ballot box, building separate supply chains, and slowly eroding 2nd Amendment rights, and they may be ready to risk it. Time is not on our side. And once their dictatorship is in place, it will be near impossible to get rid of it, given modern technology with which to watch, assess, manipulate, apprehend and even alter people. Then it will be too late for even hidden arms to save us from 1984.

I thought that was the point of having representation. Otherwise, let’s just have the president appoint oligarchs and go from there.

Well the first “test by fire” of the concessions made to the gang of 20 is about to happen v/v the “debate” and vote over the new rules for the operations of the House of Representatives.
If the democrats had any brains, we already know there will be 212 no Votes and allot of kabuki theater as various groups of 6 of 200 GOPe “rebels” attempt hold outs to undo the deal … this is the path I would take if I were a democrat … continue the pain of the circus … leading up to 2024.
Note that to undo the “concessions and compromises”, McCarthy DOES NOT need to make a single decision nor break a single promise.
ALL it takes is 212 + 6 GOPe votes by “rebels not happy with McCarthy” to accomplish the job.
Rewind to 2012, 2014 and 2016, when the REPUBLICAN supposedly had control of the Government. The CLAIM by the supposedly conservative media pundits was the the REPUBLICANS do NOT KNOW how to govern. This was the basis for the 2018, 2020 and 2022 steals … claimed by the media, DNC and RNC.

The subconscious mind retains images that we forget are even there and emerge with the smallest reflection of like impression that appear in front of us. and those hidden impressions create our instant “it’s good” or “it’s bad” judgments we assign to instinct, while having little or no idea of why or where the judgment comes from.

What Did Our Speaker Thing Get?

Don’t kid yourselves folks, there were substantive changes that came out of the US House speaker “fight.”
This came across my feed before the final votes, so I can’t vouch for it. But enough of it was leaked that I suspect its real, and any attempt to not follow through by McCarthy is likely to lead to an endless set of motions to vacate the chair, which is a privileged motion and stops all other activity in the chamber until disposed of.
McCarthy really didn’t want that threshold to be one Representative, but absent agreement he was not going to be Speaker and it was quite-clear as the days wore on that those who were opposed were not going to bend no matter how much he yelled or threatened them. He had no choice but to consent.
That request is not radical; it in fact is how The House has run for most of the last hundred years.
It exists for the specific purpose of putting a stop to the Speaker abusing his or her position in that if you run crap like refusing to allow floor amendments the Representative(s) that you anger can tie the chamber up in knots until you cut it out.
The Speaker, in short, is not King yet that is exactly how it has been treated since the 2016 elections. Pelosi turned that into an art form; exactly zero non pre-screened amendments were allowed to be offered on the floor during her tenure. She’s not alone; Ryan did the same sort of thing and the reason the “one vote motion” rule was killed when Pelosi got the gavel was that members of the House repeatedly attempted to eject him from the chair for doing it.
Restoring that capacity is absolutely a good thing. The House is a body of 435 members and in order to represent the people members must be able to proffer both legislation and amendments. If you cannot do so without the prior approval of one person then there is no representation of the people at all; we have what amounts to a monarchy in the US House.
Legislation can be forced onto the floor for vote out of committee by a discharge petition (although it takes a supermajority to do it) but if you can’t offer amendments then half the process is absolutely held hostage to the whim of one individual. This should have never been allowed in the first place and it was the big sticking point with McCarthy.
He didn’t give this up willingly so we shall see whether he actually conceded to the point of view or whether he “conceded” only until he could find a weapon with which to politically kill his opponents.

I have a question about the rules package. If McCarthy agreed to not raise the debt without cutting spending – wouldn’t cutting spending mean he doesn’t *need* to raise the debt? What am I missing?

Hey being a career politician is quite lucrative–McCarthy is only worth $95 Million.
It means that he will not be cutting spending enough to balance the budget.
Where spending is cut will tell how serious he is about bringing fiscal sanity to the halls of congress.

This always had an extremely small chance of being accepted for review.
It was pro se, to begin with. That means that the presumption in the minds of the law clerks (and thus their justices) – whether you think it is a fair one or not – is that it will contain basic errors in legal reasoning and procedure that mean it is worth a 20 second glance. That is just reality. You don’t go looking for zebras in a herd of donkeys.
Second, the premise very much fell into the doctrine of “political question. ”
I really question how much this case was being pumped up, and whether it was given as much publicity as it was might have been in order to demoralize average MAGA who have little understanding of constitutional law and procedures.
Note, I am not questioning the good faith of the Brunson brothers. The effort seems entirely consistent with a good faith belief in how things ought to be.
But just because you think it ought to be the Court’s business to tell Congress how to do its job, doesn’t mean the Constitution is written that way. That is the “political question ” part.
It is how much the filing was promoted around the internet and people given false hope that smelled off.
I didn’t have false hope. I know the courts are corrupt. They haven’t lifted a finger to save the Republic. The SC is a failure.
