With the extradition process completed, law enforcement officials in Idaho have released the arrest warrant and criminal affidavit against murder suspect Bryan Kohberger.
[Criminal Complaint, 3-Pages Here] – [Affidavit Outlining Charges, 19-pages Here]
Within the probable cause affidavit outlining the evidence against Bryan Kohberger, the investigators release a lot of very specific new evidence against the suspect, including an eyewitness within the house.
The affidavit states a woman who lived at home told investigators she was woken up around 4 a.m. by what sounded like Kaylee Goncalves (21) playing with her dog in a bedroom on the third floor.
A short time later, the roommate said she thought she heard Goncalves say “something to the effect of ‘there’s someone here,’” according to court documents. Forensic information from victim Xana Kernodle’s phone shows the noise could’ve come from Kernodle’s cellphone as it indicated she was “likely awake and using the TikTok app” around 4:12 a.m.
The witness told investigators she looked out of her bedroom but didn’t see anything after hearing about something being in the house.
Documents say the woman opened her door again after hearing what she thought was crying from victim Xana Kernodle’s room. The woman told investigators she then heard a man say, “something to effect of ‘it’s OK, I’m going to help you,’” as outlined in the affidavit.
Around 4:17 am, the affidavit says a security camera at a home next to the residence on King Road “picked up distorted audio of what sounded like voices, or a whimper followed by a loud thud.” Documents say a dog can also be heard barking “numerous times” starting at 4:17 a.m. The camera is less than 50 feet from Kernodle’s bedroom wall.
The witness told police she opened the door a third time after hearing the crying and saw a masked man in black clothing who walked past her and toward a sliding glass door.
The woman, who wasn’t harmed in the attack, said the man walked past her as she stood in “frozen shock.” The woman then went back into her room and locked the door. The woman told police she didn’t recognize the man but described him as being around 5’10” tall, not very muscular but athletically built with bushy eyebrows, documents say.
While processing the crime scene, documents say investigators found a “latent shoe print” that had a diamond-shaped pattern outside a roommate’s second-floor bedroom, which matches what the woman told police about the suspect’s travel path in the home.
The affidavit written by Moscow, Idaho Police Cpl. Brett Payne, breaks down the scene police encountered, and why Kohberger is accused of murdering the four students in November. The probable cause affidavit also details the vehicle of Kohberger in the area in front of the house on multiple occasions at the time of the murders.
Additionally, the documents also report that DNA matching Kohberger’s profile was found on the button snap of a tan knife sheath found on the bed next to Madison Mogen’s 21-year-old body after the murders.
We’ve had a few horrible murders happen here in the last year or so, unfortunately. But, there’s no place in this country I’d rather live.
Idahome.
Agreed!
I hope you have the death penalty in Idaho and that justice can be served quickly.
We do.
We do have it but not used in a very long time.
Maybe that could be changed for this creep.
No. That would be the easy way out. Let him go to prison for life without the possibility of parole and let Bubba share a cell with him and make him wish every day that he was dead.
and it will never be used against this guy. Not in looney land Idaho anyway
Don’t worry,
We’re gonna kill the crap out of him.
Sell tickets for this one.
Pay Per View 😏
What is wrong with you? In this country, at least among law abiding Americans, one is PRESUMED INNOCENT until proven guilty…in a COURT of law. Have we learned nothing?
I don’t have a crystal ball so couldn’t begin to guess what the evidence is, or how this suspect if involved, is involved or became involved. but the FBI jumped in right off. Pardon me if I don’t buy what they’re selling. There were shenanigans within this Moscow PD that were never brought to light by media. Very sketchy and right before these poor souls were sent home. All of this smells…smells bad.
“one is PRESUMED INNOCENT until proven guilty…in a COURT of law”
We aren’t in “a court of law”: we are citizens making a judgement based on what we know. And this is our right.
“I don’t have a crystal ball so couldn’t begin to guess what the evidence is”
Have you not read the reports?
“There were shenanigans within this Moscow PD that were never brought to light by media.”
If there were shenanigans, then how do you know about them if you did not find out via the media?
Are you, and the people who actually up-voted your post, advocating for Mob Rule?
Crazy.
I never advocated for “Mob Rule”! And where did you read that I didn’t think he deserved a fair trial? I merely stated that we were entitled to our opinion.
Your email replies to a reply to this post:
Bamanicious
…
Don’t worry,
We’re gonna kill the crap out of him.
By implication, you support what Bamanicious postulates…. which is Mob Rule.
Try again. My reply is to Lane Bellman, and not Bamanicious. And for the record, I don’t agree with Bamanicious.
Read the thread again…. follow the logic…. your post “appears” to support Bamanicious.
It’s the old “enemy of my enemy”…. next time, be more specific.
Next time don’t accuse me of things I haven’t done!!!
How is one person a “mob”? lol
And btw I share the same sentiment, only my idea is what I proposed for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev the other day: set off a pressure cooker full of nails and other sharp objects 3 feet from the monster. Usually I’m an eye-for-an-eye kind of person, but in the case of Kohberger I actually think it would be more just to just severely maim him.
Or maybe this: After a fair trial by jury, if found guilty, a sentence to be carried out by a mob assembled from those who knew and loved the girls and the young man?
It’s an Old Testament notion but still might bring catharsis to the aggrieved and serve as a deterrant in a post-Christian culture (for the most part, not all) America.
It’ll never happen, we know… but if our discussion is going to go beyond the Pale with suggesting anything about mobs…
I don’t mind thinking about it. It really would be more fair then letting the monster live for years in prison or, I hate to think of it, getting out on appeal.
Tsarnaev is still alive, the Boston bombing was 2013!
Why do you sound like FKA Serena?
Because you’re paranoid. lol
I assure you, I only post as fka Serena. The admin would be able to show that our comments are coming from different IP addresses …. unless tonyE is in my basement!
tonyE, I have the same question for you that I posed to Lane Bellman. Did you read the Exhibit A document? Read the entire document carefully. I did. Kohberger is done, stick a fork in him.
No…. I really don’t have to read anything.
This is for a court of law, not for a mob to decide. It’s as simple as that.
We are still a nation of laws, and rights.
We’re not deciding anything. We’re interested, and as intelligent humans we want to make sense of what happened.
I was on this site for the Trayvon and Michael Brown “suicides”, and a few other cases. It was the most fantastic group of people looking at the available evidence and trying to figure out what happened. Of course in those cases BLM was propagating false narratives which provided extra motiviation to know the truth.
I would direct your attention to the J6 prisoners for a review of our “laws and rights”.
What you present in your question here is a logical leap into the stratosphere with lead boots. Mob rule?
I totally agree with you!!
How could one man possibly kill four adults, with a knife no less, and make less noise than a statement they supposedly made stating, “It’s okay, I am going to help you”??? No blood curdling screams, no banging, just ONE thud? Just a quiet killing by one man of four healthy adults who happens to walk past a door in a mask and the only DNA is a small amount on a button snap of a knife sheath???
NONE of this adds up!
The victims were asleep when they were killed!
well I don’t think one was. she took a HubGrub food delivery at 4:00 am…murders occurred shortly thereafter so I seriously doubt she was asleep
How coincidental is the Door Dash guy showing up at 4:00 before the murders started around 4:05? I wonder if the killer could have used the opportunity of the delivery to immediately knock again and gain entry?
Also, I don’t want to judge a young girl who was frightened, but it seems so odd to me the roomate heard someone say “there’s someone here”, heard a strange man’s voice say “it’s ok, I’m going to help you”, heard what she thought was crying and then SAW a stranger with a mask walk right past her, but apparently didn’t call police until the next day (I think it was afternoon, from earlier reports). I can’t imagine not calling police to come make sure the sliding door was locked again. How could she sleep knowing he saw her and she saw him? If she thought he was some random student a roomate brought home who was just letting himself out, she wouldn’t have been “frozen in shock phase”. How do you go from “ frozen in shock to “oh well, I’ll just go to sleep now?”
you know how quick a throat can be cut…and you don’t scream with your jugular vein sliced, sorry to be graphic, but reality and all
Yup, that’s all it takes, a small amount on a button snap. Let’s not forget the witness knows the time stamps, the cameras recorded his car entering and leaving the neighborhood within the time she saw him. His DNA on the knife sheath laying next to one of the victims is pretty incriminating. You are probably someone who would not convict unless you witnessed the event.
No, but I am not one who finds them guilty without hearing all of the evidence. Believe it or not, that is a preferable jury member to both sides.
We’re not going to understand everything until we have more evidence. If the police don’t release it or it doesn’t come out through court filings, we’ll have to wait til the trial. But just because everything doesn’t make complete sense right now doesn’t mean there’s some kind of conspiracy or they got the wrong guy. That Exhibit A document is packed full of evidence and that’s probably not all the police have against him.
I have to question your grasp on reality and level of experoience in the real world.
Ever gone out with a bunch of friend and come home tired and maybe somewhat drunk? Crashed and fallen into an alcohol-induced deep and helpless sleep?
College kids do that all the time. Nearly all of them wake up the next day, shake the wooze off, get some food together, tell stories, laugh, and go hang out with other friends snowboarding, just hnging out, or whatever is in season and close by.
Most of them go on to live the lives ahead of them; they love, marry, have children, careers and worthwhile lives after they make it through college.
THese kids didn’t have that chance. You almost make it sound as if you don’t believe they were murdered in their sleep.
I don’t know what drives some people to create convoluted theories or try to explain every single detail before the evidence has been presented.
Even in Perry Mason shows the killer doesn’t confess until the trial! 🙂 Every single time, it’s pretty amazing. haha
As I recall, this police department went full Gestapo during the early days of the Wuhan flu lockdowns.
“There were shenanigans within this Moscow PD that were never brought to light by media.”
Such as?
Have you read the affidavit?
It’s going to be difficult for him to explain his DNA on a knife sheath left on the premises although they still don’t have the knife or his bloody clothes.
His DNA could have been planted after his arrest. I just DO NOT trust the FBLIE.
Check out the Dr Phil episode on the Idaho murders. It’s on YouTube. At the 8:50 mark, Joseph Gordon Scott, the white -bearded panelist says specifically, “my question is did he leave the knife sheath behind at the scene of the crime?”. This was filmed and aired several weeks ago before Kohberger was arrested. I am wondering how that panelist would ask such a question prior to the arrest. The sheath wasn’t disclosed until today.
I am nonplussed as to why the knife sheath would be found at the crime scene. Whenever I carry, say, a hunting knife, I wear the sheath on my belt. It just seems odd.
This guy was a murderer – not a practiced outdoorsman who knew how to handle a hunting knife. He made a slip-up.
Maybe one of the victims managed to grab it while fighting.
Annnnnd I don’t want to spend too much time thinking about that because it’s so horrible. 🙁
Joseph Scott Morgan.
Look, he’s amazed by his own prescience. 🙂
NOTHING was disclosed until today except the charges and disposition of the case.
All else was rightfully concealed under the cover of an ongoing investigation, with explanation by the sheriff that they weren’t going to release anything that could tip off a suspect or compromise their case. Now that the suspect is in custody…
This case was well handled by local law enforcement people who know their job and stuck to it – we’re used to seeing big city investigations in which leaks, distortions, and red herrings are drug across the trail in the media by those who have an agenda and vested interest in the outcomes.
For comparison, take a look at the Mr. Pelosi break-in and hammer attack and how that was reported and dealt with.
I think that if the Moscow police or county sheriff answered a 911 call and found two men in their underwear, nobody hurt, and watched a hammer thumping after their arrival, the handling of the case would have been much different.
We’re used to premature leaks and intrigue instead of well-handled investigations. Our expectations color our perceptions. That, I think, is what happened here.
If you say so. I recall the Richard Jewell case. Things are possible.
And his cell phone was planted in a car that looks exactly like his which stalked the girls’ house for 3 months? But he got his cell phone back before driving to PA with his father?
And by the way, Kohberger has been stone-faced since being caught. if you were accused of murdering someone and you hadn’t done it, wouldn’t you be screaming “I didn’t do it!” everywhere? I think I would.
If someone took the knife from him previously, or he was there visiting previously and was near it.
That’s easy… take the OJ angle… it was planted by raycissss/sechsisss Po-lice!
Kid’s white you say? Nah– he can identify as any disenfranchised race he likes to.
although they still don’t have the knife or his bloody clothes.
I think it’s possible they have the knife and/or clothes. The charging document doesn’t include all of the evidence, just sufficient evidence to charge, right? I don’t know when the defense is privvy to the evidence but I do understand the police and prosecutor want to keep a lot of things under wraps right now.
You get it. Good for you. I wish others did.
As a society we’ve watched too many crime shows on TV – based in reality, somewhat, but that’s not the way it goes down.
What is wrong with you?
I don’t think anything is wrong with me. I read the entire Exhibit A document and it looks like incontrovertible proof already, and that’s not all of the evidence they have. Did you read the document?
There were shenanigans within this Moscow PD that were never brought to light by media.
Describe them.
The jurors will have common sense just like you do.
Huh… the same location technology that election officials call “unreliable” when used in say… 500 Mules?
His defense could get interesting… OJ angle on the knife sheath– Democrat angle on the Cell Pings… If it don’t fit… acquit! /sarc
I think the Idaho police have the more accurate CLSI (location) data, but the Mules group had the less accurate ping data.
But I get your point, definitely.
Agree – innocent until proved guilty. What has been released as outlined in this article should be enough to convict, several times over, once fully aired out before judge and jury in a court of law; however, as you say, the rush to judgement is not grounds for conviction. We wait and see… but wait with eyes open. We suspend judgement, but not discernment or belief.
FBI? My presumption is that there are good agents in the rank-and-file of an agency, albeit corrupted from the top down, who aren’t as tainted as their distant bureaucratic overlords.
Local sheriff’s office? Moscow PD? Tell us what you know. Still, I’d trust the LEO’s and justice system of small-town Idaho far beyond, say, the same mechanisms in nearby Portland, or further east in Lightfoot’s Chicago.
Near as I can tell in this case, the locals rose to the occasion and got the job done.
I live in small-town Montana. Our local sheriff, prosecutors, and court system are just fine. I admire, trust, and support them. Same over most of the mountain west. I’d like to know what leads you to believe that Moscow ID is so different.
He’s legally innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn’t mean reasonable people can’t read a charging document that details a lot of evidence and reasonably conclude the guy committed the murders. We’re not jurors, our opinions don’t matter, right?
This piece of garbage will likely never make it in prison. He’ll off himself or someone will do the world a favor and end his miserable existence
I wish he would, it would spare the Idaho citizens an expensive trial, legal representation, and years of imprisonment until they can finally fry him.
Can you make it a two or three day event? I’d buy tickets for that.
He is still innocent. Don’t condemn until convicted please. The only thing worse then murder is executing the wrong guy.
We visited there this past August… beautiful…. absolutely beautiful
You’re right, Lisa.
God’s country. ❤
When we moved to our, then, small town in GA, 20 years ago, there had been one murder in the whole County.
I remember that I was at the hair salon and 4 ladies were getting their hair done to go to the Court to attend “the trial”. It was the event of the County!
Today, I keep hearing about shootings, home invasions, bodies found in parking lots.. the whole County changed so fast.
Georgia is gone thanks to the Governor!
Georgia is gone thanks to the Hollywood leftists who infiltrated. Keep an eye on Alabama.
As has our country… by design
I know, it’s really sad.
My friend there are murders throughout the country in every city since we have such a crappy government.💁🏻♀️
Lived much of my youth in the Boise area. I love idaho. Plan on retiring there.
i’m happy that you’re dealing with a loons. you don’t ever have to worry about it being me.
They were crying, there’s an intruder, and SHE WENT BACK TO BED!?!
And didn’t call the police for 8+ hours???
They might have been saved but for this idiot!
The wounds were too severe for them to be saved. But, they would have been able to catch that a-hole sooner, definitely.
Exactly!! And they didn’t call the police until noon the next day? And only then because someone was “unconscious”? Kind of an understatement, especially when the police report reported the amount of blood on the floors.
None of that adds up.
totally agree-it doesn’t add up.
We really don’t know how much blood was anywhere bcz none of that has been presented as evidence. Its being said to be used for drama & emotion but who really knows?
I’m sure there’s blood but if you are killed in bed while sleeping – blood isn’t all over the place.
We saw the blood dripping outside the house which is very strange as to how it dripped between the floor and walls but that aside-if someone was bleeding out on the floor next to the wall it would pool there and flow downwards and out and wouldn’t necessarily be “all over the place”.
In order for blood to ‘all over the place’ the object or person bleeding has to be moving.
Matthew Terry sliced his GF’s throat outside, there was very little blood anywhere except under her in the grass and dirt where she bled out – these things are revealed in a trial when you have the witnesses (med examiner/coroner) on the stand testifying with the actual evidence admitted.
Unitil then everything you hear is suspect.
affidavit states one victim was on the floor, not in bed
That was Xana Kernodle who had just received food from Door Dash at 4:00am and was on TikTok.
Lol still on your ‘bloody’ rants I see. You should watch some true crime shows that show blood splatter
Why are you criticizing Mist’ears Mom for her comment? It looks reasonable to me.
Too bad we can’t down vote folks, or I would have given you a thumbs down for sure for ragging on a fellow treeper.
Where blood winds up in crimes like this depends on how the victim was knifed. Arterial blood pumps out like crazy, and depending on the nature of the cutting there can be a lot of cast off blood.
He was a masked man who had bushy eyebrows. How does one see bushy eyebrows if the person is wearing a mask ??
the affidavit states the mask covered his mouth and nose…know the facts before willy nilly commenting…
Nasty folks perched in the Treehouse tonight!
…And blood thirsty too. Logging off myself.
Think COVID mask.
The mask didn’t cover his eyes, or else he could not see. Think.
We’ve been seeing masked men for 3 years now and I have yet to see one without eyebrows.
I thank God he is behind bars.
It does too add up. College kids. Senses and sensibilities numbed lifelong by media, relativism, cultural decay, cybernetics, plus the immediateeffects of a few drinks…
It’s dark, you’re scared, maybe you’ve been drinking and are only half-conscious yourself, you go back to bed – hide – and don’t turn on a light. You wait in the darkness.
People in real life don’t act the way actors do on television.
This witness sounds like a drug user. That is my .5 second diagnosis.
This was known as a party house
yes.
What’s strange is she remembered all those details? I thought the same thing and my husband said she remembered all those details…
If she’s in on it….
Did that seem like a lot of details to you? It doesn’t to me.
Maybe she was drunk. They had all been out partying, it appears, and stayed up late.
I’d be scared out of my Flippin mind!! I’d say let this go to court and see what evidence is brought out and what questioning will bring to light. But I’m not going to sit and Monday morning quarterback this event.
At that time she did not know that he had just murdered her 4 friends. She could have assumed he was some guy one of them had brought home from thr bar and that he was leaving. She thought what she heard from thr upstairs was one of the girls playing with the dog. She obviously didn’t hear any screams coming from upstairs. That would have gotten her on the phone I’m sure.
I thought I heard a there was a witness who likely heard a scream.
While the roommate should be given the benefit of the doubt, it is not wrong to point out it is very, very odd testimony.
She did not text her roommate from her locked room to see if she was okay? She was scared but did not text ANYONE?? Not very likely in today’s day and age.
The killer asked if anyone else was arrested, which is also curious.
Thank you. Always glad to see a sane person show up.
If the FBLIE is is making these statements, I don’t trust them. They are under the gun, so to speak to make an arrest. This guy may be the murderer, but I honestly do not trust them. They’re on a mission to “close” this case and IMO, they will do whatever it takes to do just that.
I found it odd that the roommate described the killer, noticed eyebrows and other details but nothing about blood on him – unless a statement was held or maybe come out later. Also, for four murders, locking the dog in a room, killing quietly in 20-25 minutes- the killer might be out of breath. No bloody footprints heading out the door…. Perhaps this detail is being saved for later. The sheath can be explained if he had been there before.
I feel for these families. My brother was stabbed to death in 1990. We were lucky to get justice with witnesses during the crime and he confessed right away. The kid who did it will be in prison until his late 70’s. Two lives destroyed not to mention families. I just pray that since these kids are taken from their families, they are very sure and can prove it with more than a circumstantial case.
At that time she did not know that he had just murdered her 4 friends. She could have assumed he was some guy one of them had brought home from the bar and that he was leaving.
That’s what I’m thinking.
Exactly! I was just at a hotel last week and two guys were cussing and threatening in the hall outside my room. I called front desk, they apparently stay there all the time and work during the day. The desk clerk was familiar and knew they were drunk. She came up and yelled at them and told them to get to bed.
They went into their room, right next door to my mother and I and the arguing continued. I called the clerk again. She called police and the one yelling and threatening was arrested and removed. I couldn’t get to sleep for some time. Too much adrenaline.
The normal reaction.
We were staying at a hotel in Las Vegas one year. What started out as hearing an occasional thump against an adjoining wall at 2:20 AM turned into what sounded like a wrestling match with voices begging out for help. I called the desk and we waited. No one appeared. I went downstairs and located security. When I returned, police were already there. Several guests were standing in the hallway.
We heard it was some sort of sex for hire of local Asian girls being ushered from the hotel. Two very large Black males were taken in handcuffs. There is no rest of the story. No media. No press. Everybody knew nothing. Right? For all we knew, no crime. Just a slumber party. You never know what to do.
it’s just my wild speculation but I think this was one was stoned on weed… Einhorn super stoned she may have even second guessed herself, wondering did I really see that…but I’m just guessing 😀
Something smells rotten is the State of Idaho. FBLIE can’t be trusted. After 7 or so weeks, they needed to “get” somebody. This creep may have committed the crimes, but the fact that the FBLIE is not honest casts a pall on all of this.
Evidence was kept under wraps as it was compiled. Lab test results take time. Suspect location and ID take time. We don’t know all the facts yet, but that doesn’t constitute a rotten smell.
Idaho isn’t rotten. It’s a pretty good state to live in.
I think the roommate should be investigated
They didn’t clear her by not investigating her . . .
They were crying, there’s an intruder, and SHE WENT BACK TO BED!?!
Are you sure the survivor who saw Kohberger recognized him as an “intruder”? I had read that it was a socially active house with lots of parties going on. When I was in college I lived with other people in houses. If it was a socially active house and people were coming and going frequently, I didn’t check on my housemates, especially if any of them were prone to picking up and bringing back new men every time they went out.
Keep in mind too the locations of the bedrooms:
victims:
Kernodle and Chapin were found in the west bedroom on the second floor
Mogen and Goncalves were found in the southeast bedroom on the third floor
survivors:
DM was in the southeast bedroom on the second floor
BF was in the east bedroom on the first floor
DM is the person who saw Kohberger. And based on what I’m reading it was her cell phone that was used to make the 911 call but police aren’t saying if she was the one who actually placed the call. So yah, that part is a bit of a mystery, but if you read Exhibit A carefully you’ll see that the police have quite a bit of evidence to prove Kohberger committed the crimes, and that document only contains what they consider to be sufficient evidence for charging Kohberger with 4 murders, it’s probably not all they have. That will all come out in the trial, and DM will probably explain her actions too.
Perhaps a local official’s kid and friends were involved and this guy with Aspergers is the scapegoat?
You’ll never get a jury to buy that unless you have some actual evidence that someone else was involved. Not knowing the circumstances of the 911 call isn’t sufficient to presume someone else was involved.
If the guy was leaving, the deed was done.
“The woman, who wasn’t harmed in the attack, said the man walked past her as she stood in “frozen shock.” The woman then went back into her room and locked the door.”
And then did nothing? Why didn’t she investigate further, or call the police? And why didn’t he grab her and kill her too?
It all sounds odd.
“…why didn’t he grab her and kill her too?”
Obviously, she was in on it. /SARC
The suspect left the dog alone as well.
The dog that didn’t bark?
I think I read that there was a dog barking a lot.
And now we know why. 🙂
And the dog left the suspect alone. They didn’t mention he had dog bites.
Seriously, you guys putting two and two together yet?
I see some pics of the dog. He’s looks like a young labradoodle. The ones I’ve been around are very friendly.
Exactly what I’m wondering… b/c initial reports said nobody called until later in the day.
So she just went back to sleep & also slept in????? She did not bother to check on them, or at least call/text any of the roommates to ask if ok, or who the man was???
The place was a well known “party house”
With untold numbers of people knowing the security code to open the front door (seriously stupid). The girl in question was probably high or drunk if I had to guess.
Dang it Bama, I just posted something similar. Spot on.
You’re spot on too.
Likely so. But the lack of concern for others wellbeing is disturbing… given there were several things amiss. Especially when she admits she was instantly fearful of him on seeing him pass by. How did she know he really left? Very odd.
… and she locked her door.
On second thought…. She wasn’t that high/drunk if she was able to give such a detailed physical description. She also locked her door– out of fear.
Idk, but if I saw a random guy in my house, dressed all in black & wearing a mask (or ski-mask)… I’m going to assume he wasn’t there to party or hangout! Just sayin.
It could have been a Covid mask. That would allow his eyebrows as to be seen and not have been like a burglar in the house. Just someone who she didn’t know who was wearing a mask.
But then why get out of bed at all? If it’s just noise that she typically hears bc it’s a party house. She would have maybe texted “hey keep it down” and rolled over and went back to sleep. She got out of bed not once but 3 times to open her door. Open her door, that’s it. If someone is making noise and you’re irritated do you just open your door? Or do you go find the person making noise to tell them to be quiet? Xana was still awake, receiving food delivery and playing on her phone. Had the roommate walked out of the room she likely would have seen X eating her food “hey did you hear that noise upstairs?” Or then the second time when she hears crying, she was disturbed enough to get out of bed and open the door ( again not typical noise or else she would have ignored it) and she doesn’t go check on X to see if it’s her crying and if she’s ok? There has GOT to be more to this bc it makes no sense. If it was normal party house noise her reaction makes no sense. If she was irritated by noise her reaction makes no sense. If she was worried about crying her reaction makes no sense.
Considering the general things that are known about the lifestyles and personal habits of these kids, I see no reason to be shocked at her choices at that point. I think her choices are an absolute fit.
The same questions could be raised “against” the four who were murdered: why on earth didn’t they (at least the first one or two????) react differently.
Her lack of response is consistent with the rest of the scene that has been presented.
Yes – she just went back to bed. No, she did not bother to check on them. No, she did not call or text any of her roommates to see if they were ok. No, she did not ask who the man was.
Doesn’t that tell you something about her?
When someone shows you who they are, it saves wear ‘n tear to just go ahead and believe them.
Cognitive dissonance.
Right? Wth?!?
I dont think some of you realize this is 4 am in the morning this is a party house so lots of strangers and the girl was probably hungover. Most people dont think in the moment they are witnessing a murder scene that will grip the nation the next day.
that’s true.. and she heard a guy say I’ll help you.. not I’ll murder you… in college you never knew who was hanging out or hooking up with who… etc… etc…..
I wonder if he was saying I will help you to an accomplice
“The witness told police she opened the door a third time after hearing the crying and saw a masked man in black clothing who walked past her and toward a sliding glass door.”
I fully realize that it was 4 am. However, if you hear crying and then watch a masked man (stranger) walk by, and you don’t do anything about it, then you are just stupid!
One of the reasons we need to make masking weird again!!
Well after 3 years of everyone masking up and her being in college where some are still having to wear masks it’s not that big of a deal. Add that it’s winter, cold out and a ski mask or any face covering isn’t out of the ordinary for Idaho.
That and the slider was on the second floor not the first floor where her bedroom was…
The surviving witness’s bedroom was on the second floor not first.
The witness was on the second floor with the sliding glass door. Same floor as X and E. The other survivor was on the bottom floor by herself.
…or way over the limit on something illegal…
The house was a known party house. People coming and going at all hours was de rigeur, not out of the ordinary. The doors were known to be unlocked. The victims made it easy. And who can say why she was spared? Who knows the mind of a psychopath.
Perhaps adrenaline made it so that he was only focused on getting out of the house. Maybe she wasn’t part of the plan. Wasn’t he following the 3 women on social media? This could have been personal to a certain degree.
He probably didn’t even notice her. By that time, he had killed four people and was headed out the door.
Tunnel vision or he had already done what he came to do.
I understand her being terrified and “frozen” … but … to call no one … for HOURS … especially after “hearing noises”, “the dog barking”, “someone’s here”, “whimpering/crying”, “a thump” … and then … “seeing a masked male” leave the house?!?!!
Is. Really. Odd.
Young people do not think clearly … may have been drinking … but one would think it is a likely expectation that seeing a masked male leaving the house would have resulted in an immediate 911 call … unless … he was known.
Tell your children.
The thump was heard on the neighbors camera. It doesn’t say she heard it. She was probabaly used to stupid behavior at all hours. College kids aren’t known for having good sleeping habits.
That sure was a sensitive security camera! People might want to think about that the next time their neighbor installs one. Most houses are not nearly that far apart, and apparently what was going on in the bedroom could be heard from the security camera. I call that invasion of privacy. That could enable perverts of all sorts!
Most new developments cram the houses together, so 15-16 feet apart would not be unusual.
The story said the security camera next door was LESS THAN 50 FEET AWAY from the bedroom wall of one of the victims! Yet it “picked up distorted audio of what sounded like voices, or a whimper followed by a loud thud.”
Now, think what it would pick up from a home 3+ times closer! Absurd!
College kids aren’t known for having good sleeping habits.
You aren’t kidding! I was a sleeper when I was in college. I could sleep til noon, easily. Even now I can still sleep through two alarms if I go to bed too late. This morning the first alarm went off and I incorporated it into my dream as some totally different noise. Fortunately the second alarm woke me up.
Yes, hearing and witnessing all of that would have been very sobering!!
That’s the other weird thing, she hears noise above her like someone playing with the dog, people speaking, people crying. But she doesn’t hear the loud thud or the dog barking that was picked up on the camera?
I don’t believe this as her room was a floor below the exit door on the second floor (the slider door) & the murders – which is where I believe the murderer exited from (per the affidavit)-not the front door which is on the floor where she was.
It’s very odd-maybe she was so traumatized she believed it after the fact….
I wondered about the same thing. The only door on the first floor is the solid front door. The sliders are on rloor 2 (leading to porch) and rloor 3 (leading to balcony)
Maybe the door was only open an inch, and she was peering out with one eye. If he were wearing a mask that was around his eyes, he may not have seen anything to the side.
I’m curious why she would be in “frozen shock” if she didn’t know what happened?
If this was known as a party house with people coming and going, why would be she shocked at someone leaving?
If you look at the frat house theory, she knows more than she is saying.
This is so unlike the FBI not leaking this to someone to let CNN spill the beans.
I suspect that the local police and sheriff departments did not let the FBI know what they new, and when.
Just in “case”.
Even the local cops know better than to trust the corrupt and compromised FBI with any real secrets..
Makes you wonder about all the leaks about bumbling detectives. They might have had him on their radar pretty quickly. Making him feel safe as if he was so much smarter than everyone else so maybe he wouldnt try anything stupid.
A read of that 19 page affidavit should give the cop-hating cynics somerhing to think about. Will they read it? Dunno…It’s not in crayon letters two feet high…
The local police worked with the FRI, who followed him around his parents’ PA home town for 4 days before he was arrested.
Someone above said the whole thing with all of these details that were just released today was discussed last week in Dr Phil. Does that count as a leak? 😉
The knife sheath was specifically discussed on the Dr Phil episode. See YouTube, mark 8:50
His sister starred in a grade b movie about stabbing and slashing victims. Can’t make this stuff up. Excellent police work. Thinking this might not have been his first rodeo.
Kinda like OJ practicing for the movie “skin-diver” with a knife a short time before he murdered his ex and another innocent ………
The sister “B Movie” is a frightening detail.
Our culture is broken and sick. College slashers have been money-makers for far too long.
Our culture’s insatiable appetite for sick entertainment will not change unless the hearts of Americans change first.
I am thinking it has. Holloweird movies lost a tidy sum in the last few years
I agree. Americans need to turn their hearts to God and become new. I’ve been guilty of watching the awful slasher movies and shows. Now I can’t even open the streaming apps that feature those ideals.
2 Corinthians 5:16-21 comes to mind. Follow the bible, reconcil with God, become a new creation.
Link?
Oh boy, here’s one: https://nypost.com/2023/01/05/bryan-kohbergers-sister-starred-in-horror-film/
Yah this is odd. The movie was made in 2011.
Link to inro on movie?
And the victims were on two different floors. It had to take a bit of time for the murderer to navigate that.
Two different floors but in just 2 rooms. It would be interesting to see a floor plan of the house.
Could the clocks on the various devices be off? What gets me… the roommate survived to tell about it??? No way. Did he not see her? And the other living roommate didn’t notice anything? The living ones had to be intoxicated. Plus, didn’t the officers not arrive to the scene for several hours? I mean… wouldn’t one smell the crime scene. I just don’t understand.
But… sounds like they have great evidence to convict him (DNA – not from an ancestry site)…. but it also makes us all realize how deeply and intricately we are all surveilled… which I want all crimes solved, but I don’t necessarily want to be surveilled… by anyone!!!! If we are surveilled this carefully, how are there still missing persons???
Your only option is to live zipped up in a Faraday bag.
The two survivors were in separate apartments on Floor 1. A man who lived on that first floor for several years said he never heard anything from the floors above.
This is not true. The charging document says the surviving witness is on the second floor with X & E. We assumed she was on the bottom floor but that was incorrect information.
The evidence against Kohberger is compelling, but definitely there are some weird unanswered questions. We might not be able to answer them until the trial. I imagine the eyewitness will be called to testify by the defense.
Was Bryan a door dash driver?
The thought just occurred to me….would explain his proximity to the house and how he got to know the neighborhood….
The documentation shows he was casing the house on several occasions beforehand. I was wondering why he picked those particular people. Still, what was the motive?
Psychopaths don’t need a motive.
Amateur sleuths always think “why did he do it?” The courts let evidence convict.
They probably were all out together at a bar weeks earlier and he tried to hang out with them and they ignored him because he was creepy.
Then he got obsessed with being rejected, probably for the zillionth time in his life, got triggered and started planning to kill them. This seemed to be a real rage/revenge type of murder, no sexual assault so it had to be some type of rejection by all of them.
Or he is just a really incompetent serial killer but doesn’t seem like that.
I’m not prepared to offer a “probably” but he did in his short time back in Pennsylvania creep out a bunch of barmaids and get chastised by the barkeep for his aggressive come-ons.
Where are you getting this information about him creeping out the bartenders? (Not “barmaids” or “barkeeps.” This isn’t 1910.)
T’ain’t no call to criticize my vernacular so.
The article was linked by a Treeper shortly after the arrest, can’t be hard to find, ‘specially with your spellin’ skills. 🙂
It’s not about spelling, it’s about modern vernacular. We’re in a written medium here, that’s why I pointed it out… if you have the link, you should share it, so we can all read it for ourselves. There have been thousands of comments posted here since the arrest. 😊
If we have to use only 2023 words then I’m in trouble. haha
He’s right. It’s been reported in the media. Go look it up yourself.
Meadow was kind enough to post the link to the news story below. Here it is, in case you’d like to check it it, too:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11588671/Idaho-killer-accused-scaring-female-staff-brewery-branding-one-b-h.html
Hope it made you feel better to be nasty to me, though.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11588671/Idaho-killer-accused-scaring-female-staff-brewery-branding-one-b-h.html
Thanks, Meadow!
bingo. my thoughts as well
It also explains why he didn’t kill the other 2. Seems like the 4 were definitely on his mind.
I will bet he had hit on one of the girls, maybe more then once,or maybe even two of them , and they strongly rebuffed him. That messed with his already messed up head…Maybe they even made fun of him. Those who knew him said he was awkward. And it’s documented he harassed women at that bar he frequented at one time. They guy is a creepy incel that probably became enraged to violent revenge against these girl(s).
Another of his acquaintances saud he was always trying to fit in. But apparently he couldn’t because he was an aggressive jerk. Thats my amateur profiler take 😀
Where are you getting the documented information that he harassed women at the bar he frequented? Just curious.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11588671/Idaho-killer-accused-scaring-female-staff-brewery-branding-one-b-h.html
We don’t have any info for motive but I’m going to make a wild guess: He made a pass at one or more of the girls and they laughed at him or otherwise rebuffed him.
He gives me the PUA vibe. I think these days they’re called incels, but several years ago they were PUAs, guys who were socially inept around women who sought advice from some very misogynist freaks who told the guys that women were to blame and they should be abused. It drove George Sodini to murder a bunch of women at a workout facility.
As a parent with two kids in college (one a girl five hours away) she and I have followed this story closely and it has made me feel even more helpless at times, then I remember all I can do is pray God watches over and protects them both. That said, I couldn’t finish reading the affidavit because I was going to cry…this is what we as a society have become.
Like so many others, the fact this roomie failed to call 911 for how long flies the biggest red flag ever. IF she wasn’t in on it, the mental and emotional torture the poor girl will carry the rest of her life is something I would never wish on anyone.
Praying for all of our children and for the permanent destruction of evildoers. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Us too. I guess some events register in your subconscious and there;s nothing rational you can do. I can’t imagine. Sorry for the survivors.
If your kids don’t do drugs and don’t party hard, and don’t like people who do these things, that’s most of the battle. Also, not working late into the night (usually means no waitressing, bar tending, etc.) gets your butt in bed at a decent hour, with the doors locked, studying to earn that degree so you can move out of rentals and up in life. Focus on achieving goals and not tolerating drama takes care of most of cultural insanity. And, seeing as you’re a praying parent, I assume you modeled faith for your kids. If they are God-honoring, then they are on a good path. I’ve seen the cop footage interviewing Xena after neighbors complained about loud party music – she was in a bad situation at that party house, and she thought she could handle it. Typical naive young woman. Tragic.
I have a son attending another university in Idaho. Like you and your daughter I have followed this very closely from the first news report of the murders.
I will not second guess or judge the other students at the house. There is still a great deal that we don’t know. You are right when you express the terrible burden this young woman will suffer the rest of her life. She needs our prayers every bit as much as the others involved in this senseless taking of these precious children.
I will say that it is scientific fact that drinking dulls the scenes, and perhaps that may be a factor here.
I have thought about the parents and families of these precious children every day since November 14.
This one hit way to close to where my son is, and thus it was easy to find myself standing in the shoes of the parents of the murdered students. These students were trying to better their lives, to make something of themselves, to become productive members of our society, and this monster stole their lives and their futures. God be with these families, comfort them, and bring them all some peace.
My hope is the capture of this monster is providing some peace and hope for their ability to receive some relief from their unthinkable grief.
Agreed and that’s what I think made this hit closer to home more than anything else.
We toured U of I this past summer as we are planning to send my son there in 2025. My wifes parents attended U of I and met there as well.
Now my son is thinking of going to, gasp, BSU because of this….
It’s not a big red flag when you see the evidence that police have against Kohberger. The housemate’s actions are minor now, I’m sure they will be explained in court, surely the defense attorney will call her as a witness.
Damning evidence. May Justice be swift.
Given that this guy is described as an intensely dedicated vegan, the sheath strikes me as odd. And the fact that it was left behind strikes me as still more odd. What I am waiting for is concrete evidence that the accused was in the house, and not simply his DNA. If you planned to murder someone and leave a trail that led straight to a patsy, then looks like the way to go about it.
FBLIE?
Explain the pings that show he was stalking. Too many pieces of evidence.
The pings indicate that he was in the neighborhood on multiple occasions. You cannot infer motive from this. Any attempt to do so in a court of law will be struck from the record.
Here are some of the issues that the defense will raise during discovery: 1) how many individuals left DNA on the premises? 2) has law enforcement tracked these individuals down, and determined where they were at the time of the murders? 3) How many cars are recorded in the neighborhood during the period when the defendant was allegedly “stalking” the victims? 4) Were hard drugs discovered on the premises? 5) Does anyone whose DNA puts them there have a history of personal drug use? 6) Was anyone whose DNA puts them there have a conviction or charge for sale of illicit drugs? In short, a “rush to judgment” defense.
Right-and the door dash delivery at almost exactly the same time as the murders … I mean wtf? Kernodle was on tictok at 4:12 am and heard nothing upstairs? So she must have been awake when she & BF were killed? I wouldn’t be crying or whimpering – I would be screaming at the top of my lungs if I was or my BF was being attacked by a guy in all black with a knife-
I can believe the 2 girls upstairs were killed in their sleep on the 3rd floor and made no noise. That is very possible. One of them was most likely the target.
Kernodle & Chapin were awake on the second floor and most likely were seen by the killer and then attacked on his way out-collateral damage. I don’t think they were supposed to be killed.
The girl on the first floor claiming she saw him doesn’t make any sense or add up.
Given it was a K-Bar sheath the knife handle would have been of leather as well.
I suppose morally superior vegan sensibilities simply fade away when the murder-urge comes on.
yeah, what?
we are to presume vegans are so leather-phobic that they have bamboo-fiber sheaths custom-made for their knives? at substantial cost?
instead of the leather sheath the knife comes with and already fits?
I mean, vegan is vegan, but that’s taking the stereotype a bridge too far
I reckon
You can’t have it both ways. He has been described as OCD. Is he, or isn’t he? If there are no leather shoes or items of clothing in his apartment, the defense will use this to inject doubt.
Do not be surprised if the defense goes after a change of venue.
Supposition is inadmissible. If the search of his apartment did not turn up other gear of this type, defense will raise all sorts of awkward questions. It would help if the knife could be tracked down to one or a few vendors, and a credit card search generate a hit.
Interesting Thought , Maquis !
I still find it difficult to believe this guy could be so careless. IDK.
He’s like fifty percent forensically aware and fifty percent Homer Simpson-level criminal genius. And he would no doubt have enjoyed a long career of serial stabbings but for that latter fifty percent.
lol @ “Homer Simpson-level criminal genius”
Yesterday Fox News website had a video of the police in IN stopping Kohberger and his father. They both seemed suspicious, to me, talking about a “shooting at WSU”. ..
Later, they said that the Police stopped them twice under FBI orders, because they want to get a picture of his hands.
Now, the FBLie is “disputing the report.”
https://fox59.com/indiana-news/fbi-disputes-report-that-agency-directed-indiana-police-to-pull-over-idaho-murder-suspect/
I read that the Indiana Police said they had no idea anyone was looking for Kohberger or that car when they pulled him over. If I can find the source again I’ll add it.
there was a shooting at WSU. I asked if it was related. (Swat squad shot a 36 year old man. Was he a student? Had he met BK?). Everyone assures me there is no connection. But maybe the guy started to carry a gun after the stabbing atrocity. That in itself would be a connection.
May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace!
I wonder, is the murderer originally from Idaho or is he a California, Oregon or Washington transplant? Just curious.
Pennsylvania. That’s also where he was arrested.
And your point is?
I just flagged your comment, hopefully it will get deleted.
Fox News, from the Affidavit:
“Additionally, the phone registered to Kohberger was traced to the King Road murder scene “on at least twelve occasions prior to Nov. 13,” according to investigators, citing the phone records obtained through a search warrant.
“All of these occasions, except for one, occurred in the late evening and early morning hours of their respective days,” the affidavit states.”
Was he supplying drugs? Recently, I saw Kohberger was a heroin user was he also a supplier?
He used heroin for a while in high school and his friend said he got clean.
then he probably switched to meth
recall, he went from a fatty to skinny over 1 summer vacation
Correct, and was much more aggressive, pushing away much of what social circle he had.
Ty Sundance!!
Something doesn’t click regarding the surviving room mates .
We must remember college days and party till you puke ! Obviously they had all been out swilling that night so attention to anything is not likely
Between this and the DNA collection. 🧐🤔
Detectives Used Cell Phone Ping Data To Catch Idaho Murder Suspect “Fact-Checkers” Called “Not precise enough” When “2000 Mules” Investigators Used Same Technology To Catch Ballot Traffickers
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/01/detectives-used-cell-phone-ping-data-catch-idaho-murder-suspect-fact-checkers-called-not-precise-enough-2000-mules-investigators-used/
As I read the account of a witness strangely disconnected from what she saw, I remember the guy arrested immediately had asked, “Has anyone else been arrested?”
Somebody else was involved, in my opinion. This case is more complicated than it first appears. Maybe the killer was recruited to do this by someone in the house who hated one or more of the victims.
I also remember the Moscow police chief stating, “This is only the beginning of the investigation.” I suspect the police are not convinced the killer acted alone.
How hard do you think it would be for him to have come up with the idea of muddying the waters and diverting attention by asking if others had already been arrested?
Considering that he was studying for his thesis, this very thing, I’m open to the idea that he put somebody up to it. Maybe he gave the accomplice the knife, and a ride. Pure speculation, I know, but that comment about anybody else being arrested is odd.
Killers usually act alone. They don’t want anyone able to rat on them. This was personal.
The layouts oft he house – the rhree floors – was published online. Very unusual. The upper two floors were oeiginal. They were built into the side of a hill. The first floor was added later, tucked under rhe top two. The sliding glass doors were on the rear of the upper floors. One stair served floors 2 and 3; another next ro rhe rront door connected floor 1 to floor 2
“This was personal”
Yep – pretty girls that wouldn’t give him the time of day
Red herring question – trying to deflect, thought-out blame shift attempt.
who wants to bet the F-B-I had this guy on their radar before this happened?
For recruitment purposes almost assuredly, I suppose. 😉
Electrocute him and get him off the planet earth.
When I lived on campus, I remember hearing young women screaming on Friday and Saturday nights. I would turn off the radio, stick my head out the window, to see if I needed to intervene or call for help. Inevitably, the young women would start squealing and laughing. It drove me crazy with worry – as a young woman I would want someone to help me. But the screams I heard came from jackasses.
One evening, I was leaving my brother’s apartment, and we both heard screaming coming from the woods. We both ran to the woods, yelling so we could stop whatever was happening – “we’re coming!” “we hear you!” to scare off an attacker. We reached a link fence and could go no further, so we ran around to access it from the back road. That’s when we saw a very embarrassed woman and her husband walking. We got the story. Both were very poor, and had walked 10 miles that day for a job interview at a fast food place. Her feet were killing her and they both were on each other’s nerves and so they started fighting. Just at the end of their rope. We gave them a ride back home – he was talking to us, but she was so mortified over yelling. But we were able to help them with a ride and a little money. Just people at the end of their rope, exhausted by life.
If the FBI is involved , we should at this point assume it’s mostly a lie, or a false flag.
It’s interesting…… 4 ‘Caucasian’ College students get murdered and the FBI immediately jumps in and within 2 months has a suspect arrested….. Seems the FIB is trying to establish credibility within the Skeptical ‘Caucasian’ group….I say this because as a Caucasian I’ve lost faith/Confidence in these corrupt institutions….The Caucasian is the only thing hold our Republic together at this point….Yes, I do realize there’s great Blacks and Latinos…However, they are a very small group compared to the Caucasian…..Think about it….
Yet, after 6+ months will still do not know who the SCOTUS leaker is….
and after 5+ years we only got a 3 page report on the Vegas shooter…..and what happened to the Mexican hotel worker who was a supposed witness that only appeared on the Ellen Degenerate show??? The guy was never seen or heard from again….
I used to have a rental house near a college campus with multiple units. I have had to replace doors that were kicked in by boyfriends. I have had the police call and ask if I knew a renter that was suspected of murder. I had one renter that partied every night. She would invite her friends over and there would be sometimes 6 of more drunk girls in the apartment and guys sleeping in the parking lot. (I terminated that lease.)
In all of this, none of the neighbors never complained. They would lock doors and try to sleep. People just don’t get involved thinking it would cause problems for them.
I just deleted this because I realized it was already fully discussed…my bad…did not read whole thread before posting.
These kids are of the age where they were fully immersed in the BLM narrative during their formative years and many have utter disdain for the police.
This is an article from my local news giving more information. Yesterday they reported that after the murders Kohberger traveled cross country from Washington to his Pocono home with his father and were stopped twice by police for traffic violations.
Both times let go with warnings. How and why did his father become part of this? Odd.
https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/poconos-coal/trash-from-poconos-home-linked-to-dna-left-at-idaho-crime-scene-police-say/article_5b913f6e-8c76-11ed-b76b-073e9ae2d800.html
It was school vacation…going home for vacation
TY
yeah, the father flew out to Washington to help his son drive cross-country back to the family home in Pennsylvania for Christmas break
Why not just fly the son? Would have been MUCH cheaper.
And why did he change his registration (or was it title) right after the car was identified to public?
That seems very incriminating and probably helped put him on police radar. You usually need to change your registration within 30-60 days.
Everyone keeps talking about him like he is so smart, but most crooks are just bold rather than geniuses.
Why is no one talking about the Enquirer ( or other tabloid) article. I read it in check-out line day before he was arrested and it had some details that were pretty intriguing. I know it is Enquirer but the 100% silence across media on such SPECIFIC details is VERY AMAZING.
Read the painstakingly detailed 19 page affidavit. Absolutely minf-boggling. How does anyone expect to get away with a crime without detection? Read it.
Maybe he did it, maybe he didn’t do it.
What bothers me, though, is his face and name being broadcast all over the
newspropaganda media.I am going to go out on a limb here in thinking about his primary motive for these horrendous murders.
As a Doctorate candidate in criminology, this man must present for his doctorate a thesis. I have a gut feeling at this point without direct knowledge of many facts that he decided to create a thesis about killing and the process that results from doing so.
It is a twisted notion indeed, but look at him, his composure, his intensity, his demeanor. It reminds me of Ted Bundy in many ways: This means he also wanted the “energies” that killing demands and creates to be experienced in a very personal manner. I also think buried deeply within his being are outrages which propelled his thoughts into this area of evil.
I don’t know if my hunch will come to the fore, but I am sure a shrink will interview him over time and such suspicions will be tested, etc. in delivering a medical opinion, if possible. He may commit suicide if, in his mind, this affair goes “sideways” from his original plan and hopes.
At some point his immediate family will face the realities of what the government has discovered and is willing to present. If their case is airtight I expect the family to demand he tell them why he did this evil deed: That may be his breaking point after which all bets all off for his continuance for living .
This man is a twisted being, his thoughts are divorced from reality, only he does not think so. He has a point to make and a lesson he wanted to learn…may he be damned in eternity if he is the killer!
Suspect’s car next to the house, at the time of the murders seems to be well documented by the police. If the DNA the police found was matched blind through Ancestry DNA databases and turns out it belongs to the owner of car seen…. these are two solid evidences.
Worst criminology grad student ever. Parking his own car next to the house while committing the murders is something that he would know not to do.
Why did they need to use a genealogy database? They knew who he was because of the car. They knew he had travelled to Pennsylvania. Detectives in PA went to the Kohberger residence and took trash from which they retrieved DNA. If I understand the Exhibit A document correctly, they were able to tell that the person whose DNA was on the sheath was the son of the person whose DNA was retrieved from the trash.
On December 27, 2022, Pennsylvania Agents recovered the trash from the Kohberger family residence located in Albrightsville, PA. That evidence was sent to the Idaho State Lab for testing. On December 28, 2022, the Idaho State Lab reported that a DNA profile obtained from the trash and the DNA profile obtained from the sheath, identified a male as not being excluded as the biological father of Suspect Profile. At least 99.9998% of the male population would be expected to be excluded from the possibility of being the suspect’s biological father.
And of course now that Kohberger has been arrested they have his DNA which I presume is an exact match of the DNA on the sheath.
Why did they need to use a genealogy database?
To establish multiple lines of incriminating and confirmatory evidence
Which is what you want to have to go to trial with
Also – from what I’ve read – the database result was the first implicating finding from the crime-scene DNA sample.
The database match was in the news long before he drove to PA
Police didn’t know whose trash to rummage until they identified the Dad from the database, is my understanding
And DID they identify the killer from the car?
They put out a BOLO for the make and model, but did they have the license plate that they could trace back to the killer’s car registration in PA?
I think you’ve gotten events out of sequence there
well I stand partially corrected at least
from the affadavit:
on Nov 29 an investigator queried White Elantras at WSU Pullman after hearing of the BOLO and identified killer’s Elantra and Pennsylvania license plate and number
so they had a license plate ID on the killer as of Nov 29, although they’d need to match that with supporting evidence to have a real ID that would stick
well I stand corrected again
“The database match was in the news long before he drove to PA”
No – it was only in the news as of Dec 30 when his arrest was announced
although the DNA database finding was likely in hand long before the announcement
https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/30/us/bryan-kohberger-idaho-killings-suspect/index.html
The DNA on the knife sheath was matched to DNA taken by police from the trash bin at his parents house in Pennsylvania. The match was 99.99% with the father.
.
As also pointed out by the reporters in video, this guy’s demeanor is really, really strange.
.
I was aware of the case but didn’t follow it closely. I do remember news reports, even fairly recent ones, complaining that police had bungled the case and had no idea who the killer was.
But as I read through the Exhibit A document I see they did a great job collecting and analyzing the evidence, and they ID’s Kohberger on Nov 25. It kind of looks like to me they wanted to have DNA evidence, which they did on Dec 28 after the PA agents took some trash from Kohberger’s parents’ house. And now of course since Kohberger has been arrested they have his DNA, and no doubt it’s a match to the knife sheath.
They found out Kohberger was stalking his victims at least as early as August 21. What a sick mf.
The media and armchair detectives always cry “bungling incompetents” when they don’t get a daily bulletin….which rhey would just pick apart…
Is he going to have that snarky smirk on his face when they put him in general?
Am I the only one who thinks this guy was set up and thr domestic intelligence network was behind this? I’m sorry but 4 dead with two roommates who slept through the whole ordeal doesn’t sound remotely plausible short of drugs. Annonymous conservative has done a wonderful break down on this including the intelligence mob shadowing the girls hours earlier.
Why is it that you have to concoct the wildest conspiracy theory to explain this crime? If you think Kohberger didn’t do it, or didn’t do it alone, wouldn’t it be more reasonable to think he had help or it was an inside (inside the house) job or something normal? Domestic intelligence network? What the h kind of psy-ops is this? lol Don’t freak me out.
No, I am totally with you on that thought, but we will be blasted on here for thinking that. That is okay though. Sometimes you just have to stand with your belief. I have seen mostly only funny business with our intelligence agencies over the last several years and it seems to be getting worse and worse. Plus I honestly can’t imagine that one man killed four adults so quietly with no struggle at all in the dark and one of the four people was a man. That there was a supposed witness who actually hears specific words of a conversation through walls, but no screams, sees the man leaving in the hall wearing a mask and closes the door and goes to bed.
Just so many improbabilities; so I would have to see what is produced at the trial. Plus, I understand that our government does quite a bit with mind control and has been for years. Think Hollywierd.
Here is a link to the TMZ story about Kohberger’s sister acting in a slasher movie “Two Days Back” filmed in 2011: https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/05/bryan-kohberger-sister-amanda-starred-horror-movie-victims-stabbed/
Innocent until proven guilty. Have we forgotten that?
Yah but do you think the guy is innocent? Did you read the Exhibit A document?
The courts have to abide that pretense.
We don’t.
I’ll put my nickel in that he is full of himself and his academic goals, and sees himself doing the ultimate “Basic Instinct” point-of-view research experience so he can write about it. (If some Idaho folks don’t feed him feet-first into the Big Morbark™ before that.)
I wish people would stop with the bad a** act on the internet to show how tough they are about criminals. It’s just virtue signaling, serves no purpose and wastes time.
Comments about how, why, where, who etc are fine but telling everyone what you’d do when that’s never going to happen is really silly.
Stop. What purpose does it serve? Does it somehow make people feel better in the face of heinous acts of evil? Find some other means to derive what that does for you cause frankly that’s mentally unbalanced behaviour.
It actually does make me feel better to imagine a big pressure cooker full of nails and other sharp objects exploding 3 feet away from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. It would be some real justice. The Boston bombing was committed in 2013, why is Tsarnaev still alive? And why did he get $1400 in a COVID relief payment?
“a big pressure cooker full of nails and other sharp objects”
I’ll chip in
They’re probably on clearance at Walmart after the holidays
Some interesting info here that came from the father of one of the victims:
Steven Goncalves said he asked the coroner, Cathy Mabbutt, how many times the victims were stabbed.
“She says, sir, I don’t think stabs is the right word, it was like tears, like this was a strong weapon, not like a stab,” he told Fox News Digital Sunday.
“She said these were big open gouges. She said it was quick. These weren’t something where you were going to be able to call 911. They were not going to slowly bleed out,” he said. […]
Goncalves said his daughter’s injuries “definitely did not match” Mogen’s wounds. “They may have individually died from the exact same thing, being stabbed, but there are more details,” he added. “They’re not even close to matching.”
The knife slashed open Kaylee Goncalves’ liver and lungs, he said.
The grieving father paid for a copy of his daughter’s death certificate, which included some of the details of her injuries – but he doesn’t know whether his daughter or Mogen were the targets. “I have my own suspicions,” he said.
His daughter and Mogen were ambushed in their sleep and found in the same bed, according to the coroner.

I can’t remember what time law enforcement was called, but it wasn’t 4:17 a.m. I don’t understand why 911 wasn’t called at 4:17 a.m.
So while the LEO investigation was being soundly castigated on social media quietly behind the scenes they were working diligently to solve the case and they did. Where are the apologies to these pubic servants? Crickets.
Exactly. Like the people who were complaining couldn’t imagine why the investigators wouldn’t want to keep the info quiet til the killer was arrested. They need to know everything NOW.

Great reporting. (smh)
Is it possible (I suppose it is, since nobody knows all of the details yet) that Kohberger intended to kill only one of the girls, but because three of them look very similar he killed one, realized he’d made a mistake, and then killed another?
Another thought: I think we all agree he acted pretty rapidly. He must have known the layout of the house so he could move quickly to the bedrooms. It’s a 3 story house with at least 4 bedrooms. It makes me wonder if he had been in there before, like worked his way in when a party was going on. Maybe the police found a floor plan on his computer, or spy cam footage. lots of possibilities here, I’m not claiming any of them are necessary correct so don’t flame me. 🙂
The trial should be very interesting, the prosecution will present all of their evidence then, we’re probably seeing only a fraction of it.
I have been following this story and I believe he will be found guilty by overwhelming evidence. Of course he is now presumed innocent.
We know the FBI is crap but the investigation is being run by the area LE and this is a community that is seeking true justice for these kids and families.
LE now has the vehicle and access to his apartment so there will be more evidence.
From the beginning it was clear that Kayley Gonsalves was the target. Unofficial source states she was stabbed 50 plus times and all the bones in her face were broken. She was unrecognizable. It was personal.
She had already finished classes and moved out, came back for weekend visit. Maybe he thought his last chance?
K, Xana, Maddie worked or had worked at a restaurant in town that had vegan options. He is a strict vegetarian. I’m sure all were posting their coming and goings on social media.
He was seen at a grocery store wearing gloves after the murders.
He turned his phone off for the hours before during and shortly after. He came back to the house the next morning.
That is quite disturbing, unimaginably monstrous.
I don’t know about 50 stab wounds and broken bones, but Gonsalves’ father said he spoke to the coroner:
She said these were big, open gouges. She said it was quick. These weren’t something where you were going to be able to call 911. They were not going to slowly bleed out,” the grieving father continued. He also described how his beloved daughter’s liver and lungs were slashed.
https://nypost.com/2022/12/12/idaho-murder-victim-kaylee-goncalves-had-big-open-gouges-dad-reveals/
Liver and lungs. If he punctured her lungs immediately, how difficult would it be for her to scream?
“He was seen at a grocery store wearing gloves after the murders”
Um … it’s winter …
His clothes must have been pretty stinking bloody at the time he was seen in the store after the murders if the stabbings were as gruesome as they say. Wonder why the girl who saw him in the hall didn’t notice he was covered in blood? Maybe he wasn’t?
If he wasn’t covered in blood after stabbing so many times, he certainly is a neat and tidy murderer. Funny how they found his DNA (was it his blood? His saliva? His sperm?) on a tiny button on the sheath of the knife if the murders were as gruesome as they say.
The story as reported is harder to believe than the conspiracy.
Cases like this cry out for the death penalty.
How could he study criminal justice and think he could commit the perfect crime?
Too many ways to mess it up, as he is now discovering.
The little I’ve read about him and his awkwardness suggests his motivation to be incel-related.
(involuntary celibate.)
Did you read about how he harassed women at a Pennsylvania brewery he used to visit? He’s a real charmer.
Several months ago, Kohberger visited the Seven Sirens Brewing Company several times, harassing the women who worked there, owner Jordan Serulneck, 34, told NBC News. Kohberger, who usually sat alone at the bar “observing and watching,” stood out for his interactions with employees and patrons, Serulneck said.
The brewery, which scans everyone’s IDs, has a system in which staff members can add notes or comments about a patron that will pop up on a screen whenever the ID is scanned again, Serulneck told the network. “Staff put in there, ‘Hey, this guy makes creepy comments, keep an eye on him. He’ll have two or three beers and then just get a little too comfortable,” he said.
Kohberger would ask women — staff or customers — who they were at the brewery with, and where they lived, Serulneck said. If the women weren’t interested, “he would get upset with them a little bit.” In one instance, Seruneck recalled he called an employee a “bitch” when she declined to answer his questions.
Serulneck said he was forced to confront Kohberger during his final visit to the brewery. “I went up to him and I said, ‘Hey Bryan, welcome back. We appreciate you coming back. … I just wanted to talk to you real quick and make sure that you’re going to be respectful this time and we’re not going to have any issues,’” Serulneck said he told the alleged murderer, who was stunned.
“He was shocked that I was saying that, and he said, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. You totally have me confused.’” Kohberger stayed for just one beer and then he never returned, Serulneck said.
The interactions happened months ago, Serulneck noted. At the time, Kohberger likely was a student at nearby DeSales University, where he graduated in 2022.

Very consistent with incel behaviors.
They don’t get why or how they are coming across strangely.
They are confused by the rejections and handle them poorly.
The barking dog gives me flashbacks of OJ.
Is there doubt or Beyond reasonable doubt, that no one was framed?
How about the those jailed since J6 ( 2 years )?
Is the public information, ‘discovery’ equal, or biased?
Rittenhouse ( (WI.) has experience in those matters…
I do not know
Was the person who posted that they did the killings and were hiding out in PA,the killer.
Were they BK?
Were they planting a story that would lead to BK as a patsy.
Wow, he went back to the scene of the crime on the day he committed the murders! I missed that the first time I read the Exhibit A document.
He left his residence at 0900 and returned at 0930. He must have been surprised that police weren’t there. Maybe he was hoping his missing sheath was on the ground? Or maybe he just had morbid curiosity?
I don’t understand why the girl that saw him walk out the door went back to her room and did not call the police until noon???? Does that make sense? She could have called an ambulance and the police right after he left. That makes no sense to me! Any thoughts anyone???
Unless she was drunk or high.
This photo of him smiling gives me Adam Lanza vibes. And that reminds me, I always thought Lanza was mentally deficient but I heard a recording of him calling a radio station and he was surprisingly intelligent. But he still killed a lot of people, including his mother.
Friend The Johnny Law’s 2nd livestream on this reviewing affidavit. He has great video

@19:26 The YouTube guy doesn’t realize it, but he outlines the sequence when you overlay the floor plan with the witness statement.
If Xana Kernoodle was killed last (witness DM says suspect walked past her and exited), and she was on 2nd floor, then suspect began murders on third floor with Kaylee and Maddie.
Stay with me…..
Kaylee and Maddie were both killed in the same room (3A) where the sheath was located next to Maddie.
The killer then went down the stairs and the next murders happened in 2B (Xana and Ethan). Witness DM only heard noise from Xana Kernoodle (who was using tiktoc just prior per affidavit).
Here’s what the picture looks like:
Kohberger enters house on 2nd floor, through sliding glass door. Walks upstairs, kills Maddie and Kaylee in bedroom 3A above witness DM. Would Maddie and Kaylee sleep together (it was only a single bed)? or did Kohberger get Kaylee from her bedroom and take her to Maddie? (unknown). Kaylee had the dog. So taking Kaylee to Maddie’s room takes the dog out of the equation.
After killing Kaylee and Maddie, Kohberger then walks back down the stairs to the 2nd floor and is possibly confronted by Ethan. Ethan is killed and then Xana is killed last, both bodies on floor.
Witness DM steps out of her room, Kohberger walks past and exits.
Knowing the sequence provides larger context.
Possibility that only Kaylee was the target. However, dog barking is issue (bring Maddie out of her room?). Kohberger takes Kaylee and Maddie into same 3A bedroom (Maddie bedroom).
It has been reported that Kayley had recently moved out, most likely taking bed and furniture with her so she was sharing Maddies room for a weekend visit and to show a new car had bought.
She was planning on
starting a new job in Austin TX.
Maybe the dog was put in the empty bedroom for the night.
How sad. She would not have been expected to be there and new car might not have been recognized.
I still have questions about this as well, interesting.
I had assumed that (one of) the witness/surviving roommate(s) was the newest one? and resided in 1A?
I was multitasking all day while trying to keep up, but thought that I had read that she encountered him exiting from the first floor.
This was only his, “The Johnny Law”, second time live streaming and he is still fine tuning and was on a new platform for this video. I noticed early on he was referencing bedroom 1B when he meant 2B. Someone ended up correcting him thankfully.
His video of the layout of the house is still the best I have seen on this case and really answered a lot of questions we had.
Thankful to have so much more info but there are still a lot of questions.
I think Kaylee was the original target for the attack. Unfortunately her and Madison slept in the same bed, which I’m sure many college girls do. Could of been Madison was the one still alive after the stabbing whimpering, and that’s where the attacker said “it’s ok, I’m going to help you”. Not sure how to say it, but to keep her from hurting any more… A deranged individual.
