“Section 230 is anything but settled law. If the California courts were, for example, somehow correct about Section 230(c)(1)’s immunizing all publishing conduct without any measure of motive (so long as the content originated with a third party), then any and all unlawful publishing conduct, such as discrimination, anticompetitive conduct, election tampering, practicing medicine without a license, restricting public officials and yes, even state action would be immune from liability under Section 230(c)(1) and Section 230(c)(2) would be entirely useless. As Justice Thomas pointed out, this result cannot “plausibly [] have been intended by Congress”.
Section 230 needs to be reevaluated by the courts, despite them failing to take that opportunity with my case. There is reason to believe this could happen soon. For example, just recently, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals agreed to hear the dispute Domen v. Vimeo, a Section 230 case based on sexual orientation and religious discrimination. This case’s outcome will have direct impact on my case, because if somehow my court was correct in its interpretation that Section 230(c)(1) protects all publishing conduct without any measure of motive, then discriminating based on sexual orientation or religion would be immune. I doubt that Congress’ intention for section 230 was intended to immunize sexual and religious discrimination, “solely relying on the agency’s own views and policy agenda”.
The important questions I leave with you. Do you believe it was Congress’ intention to immunize any and all publishing conduct, including that which is unlawful, such as political censorship, market manipulation, , discrimination, anticompetitive conduct or elicit a medical response, simply because it occurred within the ether of the internet? And do you truly believe Congress intended to hand off its own duties, such that it is relying on a competitive private entity’s own discretion, views and policy agenda to make moral and fair decisions for its users? I would like to hope that we might have some better clarity on these questions soon.”

These social media companies ARE NOT actually operating under Section 230.
They have their own LEGAL Classified Contracts, which cannot be discussed nor even acknowledged except by the Gang of 8 or the corrupt INTEL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEES.
That is the reason executives from ALL the tech companies will dance around the Section 230 campfire as long as you want.
Regardless of hidden contracts (ostensibly for national security or some such cloak) their biased censorship is clearly manifested in the real world of online communication.
This bias should be subject to easily understood standards (Good Samaritan standard) within Section 230, that should be clarified.
In principle, laws should be understandable and clear to all. If laws are ambiguous and mysterious, then we can all commit three felonies before breakfast. Like now.

Yet, people continue to whine and complain, rather than doing the obvious and simple thing: Stop using social media.

I think the internet should be like water, electricity, phones, a utility, but we are not in that ideal world.
Going with your idea, suppose we didn’t stop using social media, but we all started spamming Twitter with nonsense? So that their algorithms would be totally confused and useless? The censorship is not done mostly by humans, it’s done by algorithm, and they only have so many humans.
There is an online privacy expert, Rob Braxman, who has done this with YouTube. YouTube’s AI is totally confused by the conflicting info he feeds it.
AnAppeal2Heaven: In a sense, Twitter is already mostly spam. From the perspective of information theory, there is signal, and there is noise. Twitter is mostly noise. Today’s poorly educated human brain does a bad job of filtering out noise. For a large portion of society, the task of filtering out noise has been offloaded from the human brain, to the internet.
Society is losing the ability to separate valuable information from garbage. Twitter is mostly garbage. Idle chatter, gossip, promotion, and propaganda.
What I am talking about is dumping sand in the gears, by the ton.
I am describing an offensive move rather than a defensive one. Twitter has been weaponized, almost from its inception. Take the weapon away.
Abandoning it works too, if done in sufficient numbers.
AnAppeal2Heaven: The problem with dumping sand in Twitter’s (or other social media’s) gears is that these social media platforms have access to nearly infinite capacity to sift out sand to get the information they want. Remember, the “sifting” capacity is nothing but computer chips.
That said, for guerilla operations, a handful of sand, and perhaps, a bottle of Karo Syrup, can do a lot of damage.
There is a bill in the Michigan state house that would give the state of Michigan the sole right to take over all utilities by imminent domain.

The tragedy of Social Media is the addiction that has been created to it.
Human nature is to always take the easiest and least resistive path in tough situations. The easiest path is NOT the best in many instances. Human Social interactions for the majority of people is the most difficult situation they encounter.
Social media allows faceless and a seemingly invulnerable path to social interaction. One can even assault people who offend you anonymously.
The feeling of power and “freedom” is indescribable and totally intoxicating. It becomes hopelessly addictive, and gives us today’s “face in glass generations” 3-70+ years old with very few if any social kills of old.
ALL forms of education Pre-K through what ever level you care to name, sponsored by Public, Government or Private entities, has gone to COMPUTER BASED Education that ingrains trust of the machines over physically, manually acquired skills. (i.e. face to face bad, old style teaching bad, self reliance bad, critical thinking bad, …)
This is the tragic truth and the reason controlled social media will be the major underlying force of society until new generations can be raised with “hands-on” skills .
One further note…ever notice how even the illegal immigrants come with cellphones and who can forget Obama Phones???

All of this dumb sh_it ends when we link up and simply say “No More!” Stay in the swamps Matrix and our end is certain. This evil attacks us from so many directions that many become hopeless, despondent. Many believe if we speak, hear and see no evil you will not be the target of these demons. Because if you do, it destroys a sheeple’s tenuous, grasp of their false realities and your present comfort level will be disrupted.
This is a naïve’ understanding of demons or their minions work.
My point: Whether you or I like it or not, this darkness has wrested the controls of power throughout the world, where fraud it okay; “the ends justify the means”.
By allowing these demons the helm their expressed goal of depopulation will come to fruition. Not to delve too deeply into hyperbole, but, we are fighting for our lives and the life of the USA, whether we like it or not, act accordingly.

What’s unfettered in America is “Communism for the Rich” and the normalization of corruption that results from the auctioning of political power to protect monopolies and cartels.
The irony of constantly being accused of being a communist is rather rich. When I point out that “free market capitalism” in America is neither a real market nor real capitalism, those who equate any criticism of “capitalism” as proof of communist leanings are triggered.
The core goals and functions of communism and monopolies/cartels are identical: snuff out unfettered markets (competition, transparent price information for all participants, etc.) and take control of all market functions, restricting supply and controlling all regulation with the sole goals of further concentrating centralized power and maximizing steady profits (i.e. maximum greed) to benefit those who own/control the concentrated wealth and power.
Those operating monopolies and cartels in America are in effect a private-public Politburo, a concentration of wealth that buys whatever political power is needed to increase profits and protect the monopoly from threats.
This is a very good description. All of it seems crazy and chaotic when looking through the glasses of the last 100 years of our history. Take the glasses off and one can see global corporate fascism.

Do surgery on Tik Tok and you will find a US Media Company or Companies …. do surgery on a US Media Company and one will find Tik Tok.
These companies are linked INTERNALLY, via legal agreements sanctioned by the US State Department.
This is not rocket science people. If Tik Tok is the “stand-alone” evil claimed … it sure runs across, through, beside, with etc. etc. ALLOT of US Platforms, wires and counterparts.
The same goes for US Technology Companies operating in Asia.
There is a data management system for Tik Tok within the US Government, just as there is a Backbone for US Companies.
He was only censored and massively so when he criticized China in ONE video.
Our ONLY real choices are as follows:
1. Social media (like a TikTok replacement) controlled by someone like Musk, who isn’t perfect, and isn’t completely independent of #2
2. Social media controlled by the Western oligarchs
3. Social media controlled by the Eastern oligarchs (Russia/China)
I’ll choose #1 with #2 as a distant second.

Then there are AT&T and others who actually OWN the wires, airwaves and transmission infrastructure. This includes TELEPHONES and ALL TV Services by way.
One can be assured those tax payer funded US GOVERNMENT contracts are classified and not releasable to the PUBLIC. That’s right, classified contracts exist and even have Security Classification guides with instructions defining how even the existence of the contract can be revealed. A major portion of the US DoD and state Department Budgets ARE Classified and even discussed in Congress, except by those pesky INTEL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEES often discussed here and the Gang of 8.
A key feature of the corruption used by the US Government to date is the “use of the system to legitimize every action”, that WILL stand-up in court [especially when ALL 3 or 4 branches of the US Government are simultaneously corrupt].
Then align this with the fact that the only oversight that can be provided by Congress has to come from the Gang of 8, if they were so inclined to even pay attention.
All information is digital. Phone calls are routed on the same digital internet backbones as Zooms, tweets and texts.

I worked in an industry that built C4I and Sensor Systems for over 30 years.
As far back as 1986, we were under contract to start the development integrated Digital C4I systems for the DoD, to deploy all the way down to combat vehicle and hand-held levels. The technology to start really putting these kinds of systems together on a massive scale did not start coming into being until 1995-2000. At the time none of us in Industry realized what would happen if the Government suddenly viewed the societies they controlled as “battlefields” and many of their citizens as enemy combatants.
Keep in mind and as has been pointed out here a few times, until mid-1990’s DoD (including DARPA) was the leader in development of digital technologies, for weapons systems, sensors, seekers, command control data processing, communications …. Once the economy of scales potential dawned on commercial industry … they left DoD to develop what we have today and the US Government in 2000 came back to integrate what they started in the 1980’s.

I do know what you mean having career in digital R&D – mostly new technology development. During most of those 30+ years the R&D was always measured along the way by some type of “business case”. Even federal contract work was measured on quantified results.
I did not see the big picture until around 2005 when I started working on cross-industry standards and open source software with, what had been, our most fierce competitors. At first my assigned standards or open source projects were always justified on expanding the industry opportunity for all. Two “industry” areas for the open projects opened my eyes to what you describe: Social media and healthcare standards.
Our once cohesive team stared to argue over things like Facebook’s APIs for content screening (censorship) worked out with Chinese companies. Or acceptance of proprietary standards based on Google’s protected IP. Or electronic health record system architectures based on centralized system from the US government. Huge companies giving crucial IP to China. etc etc
My eyes were opened and I could not unsee what was going on. I retired.
This looks like the ultimate work-around for law enforcement agencies to bypass the requirements to get a warrant,

What both of them accomplished was first, it took out the mom and pop stores and secondly Walmart eventually got contracts that took out the suppliers and he was able to buy direct from the manufacturer.

I read the entire lawsuit, as I am in Arizona. Very good synopsis here with Barnes.
Like Barnes stated… all Lake has to do is create enough reasonable doubt that the process in Maricopa county created the potential for significant errors in the vote count above the margin of “victory” for Hobbs.
The lawsuit clearly points out that as many as 200K votes were counted with no matching signatures, Maricopa county admitted significant issues related to tabulators not working throughout the day, mixing of an unknown number of uncounted drawer 3 ballots with ballots that were already counted, and a complete disregard for chain of custody documentation for as many as 275K ballots.
Lake is requesting various fixes, all of which have been done before in previous elections here in Arizona. That includes a run-off election statewide or at a minimum in Maricopa county. The only caveat is whether the judge hearing the case will succumb to the pressure he is likely to face to cover up the fraud. If he doesn’t have a backbone, then game over.
Just saying, if I were the Judge and even if I had skeletons in the closet or they threatened me with planted evidence to blackmail me…I would have to say this would be the hill I die on and press forward in the hopes it exposes all the corrupt elements. When the revote happens, I think it would show a very significant victory for Lake and expose their gaming the system with 10’s of thousands of fraudulent votes.

So, I can understand the propaganda aspect of pushing out approved narratives, but if they are trying to gather intelligence, why would the permanently ban some of the more aggressive and followed conservative tweeters? In banning Trump they lost the interactions of potentially millions of people they would want to keep tabs on. Did they have to ban him and others to keep up the facade and also maybe to meet the demands of their rather virulent base?

I remember reading over 25 years ago that Intel had allowed the government back door access into their processors even then. So it is likely baked into the hardware of your equipment at this point.
