So, just because he is the establishment choice does not necessarily make him a bad candidate. Even the Establishment may make mistakes (/s).

Don’t knock Desantis. He has been a great governor for Florida. He cleaned up the voting process in Florida which allowed Republicans the opportunity to win. That is a hell of a lot more than most Republicans. The reality is that Trump is badly damaged goods, granted it is mostly not his fault but it is still a political fact of life. Even staunch trump supporters, must face reality. Trump has made some serious tactical mistakes mostly because he was a political amateur. He has fallen into to many traps set by the democrats. Chief among them was his Jan 6th Rally. The democrats were able to infiltrate the crowds and then breach the capitol and blame it on Trump supporters. This gave them 2 years of political ammo to use. He fell right into Fauci’ s COVID trap, and allowed the use of an experimental vaccine which has proven to be at best useless and at worse harmful. It could be argued that he never intended the vaccine to be mandatory but the fact remains he was unable to control the CDC. Desantis was able to keep Florida open and during the pandemic and keep the democrat COVID fearmongers at bay. Trump has been loudly proclaiming the 2020 election was stolen and it was, but he should have been quietly gathering proof of vote fraud and then the republicans should have used this to get rid of democrat election law changes during COVID and criminally prosecute democrat officials. Just complaining about vote fraud turned out to be ineffective.
Because of these political mistakes the democrats have two more years to seize control of the federal government and institute a new dictatorship in place of the Constitution. Civil War, more like the Syrian civil war than the first American Civil War, has become much more likely.
The reality is in order to stop the democrats from destroying the country the Republican first have to get elected. At this point I don’t think Trump as a Presidential candidate can pull it off.
Have you been living under a rock? Lots of evidence has been collected. How many of Desantis endorsements lost? Glad Florida likes their governor but you can keep him.
The truth is often hidden under rocks, so don’t be afraid to look there.
DeSantis didn’t keep Florida open during the pandemic. Other states opened first or never closed. Stop “lacking candor”.

It is time for the rest of the Republicans to join the battle and win the war.

The problem with the Republican party is largely that it contains republicans.
IMO, Republican voters have evolved in some ways to be non-resolute.
Example: if Trump is candidate X and Desantis is candidate Y we can remove their identifiers.
Now list the issues that matter to them, list their accomplishments, and list their donors.
How do those metrics line up with Republican voters?
My guess it that the stronger majority would choose candidate X.
So why the push to dump Trump?
My take is that Republican voters are becoming like democratic voters. More about liking the candidate and less about the real issues and who is funding them.
I personally do not like Donald Trump. I do however, have enormous respect for him and the job he did and is doing.

I have reached the point in cynicism that I have quit accepting that just because there’s a consensus that something is conservative that it is so. This goes for anyone in media, radio, television and the internet. These people that are selling conservatism, are selling a product and have found a niche in which to make a buck and making a buck is their guiding principal.
So I take everything that is said with a grain of salt and remain especially skeptical when political power is in play. These voices that are trying to replace Trump within the MAGA movement are usurpers that serve the establishment, regardless of their conservative bona fides.
Trump and Trump alone will be the one to endorse his successor and most likely, I will be skeptical of his choice.

Retired Magistrate here: Yes, here in Ohio we did clean up our voter roster about 4 years ago and the case went to the U.S. Supreme Court and Ohio won. Frank LaRose, our Secretary of State has done an excellent job with regard to fair elections. Am I saying there is no cheating, of course not. However, on the whole our election process is run fairly. All of our votes were counted and posted by 11:00 P.M.
At the the voting place you are asked to show a valid I.D. and repeat your address. There are notices posted that voting twice and other voting fraud is a criminal offense and penalties are posted. Finally, Ohio just passed a Constitutional amendment that only citizens can vote. Don’t know whether other states have done this or not.
So, while Ohio is not a glamorous stated and we have gray, cold winters, it is a fairly good place to live.
Don’t know about JD Vance. He won because of President Trump. For Vance not to thank President Trump at Vance’s acceptance speech is a big red flag. We will see how he does.

To all those who are feeling the pull to cave into Desantis. We already know Desantis is bought, we know what his purchaser wants I.e. the death of MAGA.

Finally, we know that these elections reflect nothing more than a flacid Republican party, resistant to the MAGA movement, having done nothing to correct voter irregularities.
There is one answer, we as a movement have to understand the weapon of the enemy and use it against them, the ballot harvest. Until that happens we will continue to have gaslighting elections. I pray Donald Trump is already working in the six nefarious cities to accomplish this task for 2024.

Robby Starbuck moved his family to Tennessee from California, and ran for Congress. Tennessee Republicans evidently did not like the carpetbagger aspect of his candidacy and forced him out. That was their prerogative, for whatever reasons they did so.
What concerns me is the reasons that Jared, Mike Pompeo, and Lindsey Graham were so concerned about ultra-MAGA Robbie’s candidacy to recruit someone who did not even live in that state to run against Robbie, and even persuaded President Trump to offer her his endorsement should she choose to run.
As you can see from the tweet, one of Starbuck’s major issues is child exploitation and human trafficking. His wife even runs an organization devoted to that.
Again, they talked President Trump into recruiting someone to run against a MAGA candidate.
Truth be told that is what is prompting so much of the stealing, cheating and manipulation of this election.Human/ Child trafficking is a big industry , especially in AZ, where horror tales from CPS are beyond belief. Here’s what people don’t want to face: The extremes of abortion on both sides are a political third rail; nobody except for the nutjobs is in either of those camps. The GOP tried to spin the Roe-v-Wade decision as a mandate to ban abortion entirely under all circumstances and got their teeth kicked in — justly so. If they had left it alone as a state-specific issue and come out strongly for that, rather than trying to press the USSC win onto the national stage several races, including Pennsylvania’s Senate race and Michigan’s Governor, would have been walk-off victories. Instead both were losses and in that regard the Republicans literally sucked-started a political shotgun.
If you run on “abortion is murder” — or can credibly have that position pinned on your campaign you lose. Note that murder is a very-specific word; murder is always and everywhere a criminal offense carrying long prison sentences or capital punishment. It therefore leaves no woman who can find any reason to undergo such a procedure, ever and under any circumstance, any possible path to vote for you since you are by your clear statement threatening to throw her in prison. Would you vote to voluntarily go to prison?
There are plenty of people who try to link this to things like an ectopic pregnancy, which is never viable and, unless removed, is almost-certain to kill the woman. That’s BS and everyone knows it; there is not one so-called “trigger law” that mandates that a woman die if such was to happen and no such law would be constitutional. However there are myriad other corner cases that remain — and attempting to label all of them murder is how you lose elections.
The Republicans continue to refuse to face this fact and boy did they amp it up this time — with the entirely-expected results. No more than a tiny single-digit percentage of child-bearing age women will agree that there are no circumstances under which she might want to terminate a pregnancy short of her being dead if she doesn’t and will accept being convicted of murder and thrown in prison if any of those other circumstances — like being raped, for example, or if the fetus is discovered to be horribly defective and cannot possibly live a reasonable life by any rational definition, never mind bankrupting both her and her partner before dying horribly — arise.
If you’re one of the people pressing that position in public, no matter the venue but especially if you were doing it in a political context you are the reason that the election turned out the way it did. You caused it; you cheered it on and stoked the crazy, now you get to live the curse.
