According to multiple media reports, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband of 59 years, Paul Pelosi, was arrested for driving under the influence last night. It’s the driving part that’s no ok. The need for Paul Pelosi to be under the influence of something numbing, is, well, somewhat understandable.
(VIA MSM) – Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s husband, has been arrested after allegedly driving under the influence late Saturday night. Paul Pelosi was arrested in Napa County, California at 11:44 p.m. on Saturday night, and was charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.
The arrest was first reported by TMZ. He was booked into jail at 04:13 a.m. on Sunday, and released at 7:26 a.m. according to Napa County records. Those records indicate his bail was set at $5,000.
Paul Pelosi, 82, has been married to Nancy since 1963. A spokesperson for Rep. Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that she would not be commenting on the “private” matter.
“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” the spokesperson said. (link)

UPDATE: Pelosi was involved in a car crash, before his arrest for DUI, with the driver of a Jeep. The other driver was not arrested. There were no injuries. Pelosi was driving a 2021 Porsche.

Arrested by CHP. He was on Walnut Rd. in Napa, attempting to cross Hwy 29 and was hit by a male driver in a Jeep. I hope the Jeep driver is OK.

I have driven the few roads in that area many times, wineries galore, lots of DUI’s issued all the time, but usually late afternoon. This reckless DUI is, if proven, far more serious and threatening to people than peacefully trespassing in the Capitol building especially when Capitol police officers didn’t seem to care about your presence. The police certainly cared enough to intervene in this dangerous situation.

There are wineries up and down Hwy 29 in Napa. It is a two lane road, quite beautiful and I am sure it is patrolled for drunk drivers all the time. Literally, wine tasting from winery to winery. When we first moved out here, 1984, it was all free tours and quite quaint. see the movie, “Bottle Shock” as a reference. We took everyone out there who visited us.

I grew up there and was dragged along by my parents with their friends for wine tasting. Lots of boring childhood memories of hanging around the wineries with my parents friends’ kids with nothing to do but wait. When I grew up I never went wine tasting because of this.

His blood-alcohol level absolutely went down after 4 hours; likely reducing the possible charges to misdemeanors. Still, an arrest after causing an accident while impaired should mean a mandatory 5-day stay at the greybar motel.

There is something big being veiled here. The officers, CHP and Sheriff of the county either had no alternative but to arrest for what happened, or are true patriots, or both. There were probably a substantial number of witnesses and law enforcement had to step in.
