It is a real pity that the idiot deep state so maligned Russia to get at Trump. If Putin wanted to recreate the Russian Empire why did he only annex Ossetia from Georgia rather than invade the entire tiny country? Because all he wants is the non Islamic ethnic cultural Russians. There are 30 million Muslims in Russia and by 2030 some estimate 30% of Russia will be Islamic.
With low fertility rates amongst ethnic Russians and high fertility rate amongst Muslims we could see Russia become a majority Islamic country around mid century. Now think about that. In what universe is it in any Western country’s interest to have Russia become an Islamic country. It has the most nuclear weapons on the planet, a space program, advanced military technological and manufacturing base.
Putin has desperately been trying to get ethnic Russians to have more children and repopulate Russia. In the short term he keeps capturing ethnic Russian population in areas contiguous to Russia. Ukraine could net him as many as 7 million more ethnic Russians. That probably buys him 15 years to slow down the Islamification of Russia.
For Putin this is an existential battle for Russia. Economic sanctions are irrelevant. He needs the Russians, not the resources or strategic location, although they are nice side benefits.
For almost all of Russia’s history it’s strategic culture has been to trade space for time, practice denial operations in withdraw whilst building up a huge army to bludgeon its way to victory. In Russia’s current situation it can’t do the last part. It can’t waste manpower. Hence Putin isn’t getting bogged down in urban warfare and nor can he sustain a prolonged occupation of all of Ukraine let alone go to Poland. The Army he has fielded to go into Ukrainian is probably the total available for an expeditionary operation. And he can’t sustain that for many months let alone years.
A sensible US led West would have negotiated a solution to help Russia avoid demographic destruction because it is in our strategic interest to do so. Instead, the deep state and Democrats think in terms of undermining Trump and winning the next election. They don’t have a foreign policy, they play domestic politics overseas. Unfortunately Russia is important and in serious trouble. We could help, but instead decided to try and save the washing machine called Ukraine where the deep state launders it’s ill gotten corrupt cash.
The only upside to this is that Zelensky has done well and strengthened his position whilst realising Biden, the Democrats and Deep State will screw him over hard and not help. In fact, I wonder if this war was partly helped by the Deep State to try to get rid of Zelensky because he might really be a corruption fighter as he portrayed himself to be. I mean why offer Zelensky a rescue flight out before things were super dire? My hope out of all of this are three fold:
The two things that should be obvious to every sentient person here is that the Deep State and our ruling elites are either stupid and or totally corrupt, but they certainly care about no one but themselves, and most importantly Trump was right – right about Russia, right about Ukraine, right about the Biden’s – right about all of it, lock stock and two smoking barrels.

Yes, in earlier comments elsewhere I have mentioned this exact same problem for Putin: a declining population of Russians vs. high birth-rates among the Islamic groups in Russian territory.
Annexing the Ukrainian Russians would also mean a (probably slight) boost to Russia’s economy, which has never taken off because of corruption and the legacy of both the Czarist and Communist pasts. 7 million more producers and taxpayers!
Zelensky (or Zelenskiy, but NOT with 2 y’s at the end) could be the one to expose Deep State corruption: if so, expect a massive propaganda war here against him. I think his “support” right now from The Manchurian Marionette is a sham, and the plans of The Deep State are to have him eliminated during the chaos.

My former Air Guard Unit took Fighters to the Ukraine a couple years ago and flew with the Ukraine Russian made Fighter-aircraft and Ukrainian pilots in joint exercises. There was nothing unusual about it as this kind of thing is often done with other Nations.

I got a technical indicator sell signal January 3rd. The stock market has not closed one tic higher since January 3rd. The stock market is definitely in a Bear cycle. However, there will be Bear rallies normally of 50% correction. We just had one a couple weeks ago.
Areas of support 32,500 and then the all important 30,000. I do see major support at 28,500. Biden said he was going to bring every thing back to pre-Trump. If so, it would put the stock market back to around 16,000.

The Daily Telegraph I used to read was under the leadership of Conrad Black, now Lord Black who writes for a few publications here (but I read him at American Greatness). The Telegraph was where I first became aware of Mark Steyn and Theodore Dalrymple (a man extremely worth reading whose articles appear in many places, City Journal being one.) But neither do so now. Ah well…the Telegraph’s loss.
Now it is clear their writers weren’t hired for their mastery of thought or grammar. The articles don’t inform but rather boilerplate propagandize. The top hat on this is that they are now behind a paywall. No matter…their excellence has died and rotted into compost. Pity.

Wanted to give you all an update on my friend, Ann, who went into the hospital with the wuflu in early November, and is still there today.
Without giving all the details, again, I’ll just say she was intubated when she did not need to be, which caused holes in her lungs.
Throughout the time she’s been there I totally believe the hospital/staff were trying to kill her.
Just before Christmas Ann’s doctors told Ann’s husband she had a 39% chance of making it.
Shortly after New Year’s Day Ann’s family was told she only had a 10% chance of making it.
For almost four months Ann has only been allowed one visitor per day, and with a husband and three adult children, there was no chance any of her friends were going to see her. It has been painful for me not to see Ann; to encourage her face-to-face, to take care of her while there, to pray for her while holding her hand, to read the Bible to her, or to sleep on the floor next to her bed to ensure she always had an advocate close by.
But I know with how loving and caring and sharing and welcoming Ann has always been, and with how many friends she has, the lack of many companions being there for Ann had to be a huge trial in itself for Ann to deal with while struggling to heal.
She has been fighting many battles over the past year, and the last four months all those battles were greatly multiplied.
So it was with great rejoicing I learned on Saturday that Ann is sitting up, Ann is talking (holding her trach closed), Ann is texting, and Ann is heading to a local rehabilitation center soon.
Our homecoming party for Ann will be huge. It will include Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Ann’s birthday and Valentine’s Day, and, I hope, we will all worship Resurrection Day together on April 17th.
Thank you, again, to those of you who prayed for Ann. God, in His mercy, showed what He can do with 10%, and I am grateful those were His plans for Ann.

ICU nurse here, I am very doubtful the intubation or ventilator gave her holes in her lungs rather it would have most likely been caused by too high ventilatory pressures, called “PEEP”. I am not a doctor but that is what I guess.

When the ACA rolled out, I made it my mission to see that my patients did not leave this world for the lack of care that this ACA encompassed. At least “not on my watch”. The residents hated me but never argued against the things my patient needed.
I don’t remember all the details, but the doctor we hired ‘after the fact’ that looked at what they were doing to Ann said the holes in her lungs were caused due to her being intubated, and having too much air pushed into her lungs when she didn’t need it. Sounds like what you said, “ventilatory pressures.” Sometimes I try to write as little as possible since I’m too wordy most of the time, and many times not saying enough is just as bad.

Ann said at the beginning when she could still text and talk that she believed all the hospital staff were drawing straws to see who had to work with her. She said they treated her very poorly, and believed they did that since she was an advocate for no masking and no poison injections. And she was a loud advocate for those things, so much so that her stand against those things was written about in our local socialist rag paper multiple times.
When I learned Ann was being treated so poorly I started praying and asking the Lord to surround her with doctors/nurses/hospital staff who would treat her with care and compassion, people who knew Him as their Lord and Savior. A few weeks later I learned that one of the nurses had prayed with Ann, and I believe that nurse may have been someone like you, Aggiegirl.

New UC Riverside research shows soybean oil not only leads to obesity and diabetes, but could also affect neurological conditions like autism, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, and depression.
Used for fast food frying, added to packaged foods, and fed to livestock, soybean oil is by far the most widely produced and consumed edible oil in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In all likelihood, it is not healthy for humans.
It certainly is not good for mice. The new study, published this month in the journal Endocrinology, compared mice fed three different diets high in fat: soybean oil, soybean oil modified to be low in linoleic acid, and coconut oil.
The same UC Riverside research team found in 2015 that soybean oil induces obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, and fatty liver in mice. Then in a 2017 study, the same group learned that if soybean oil is engineered to be low in linoleic acid, it induces less obesity and insulin resistance.
However, in the study released this month, researchers did not find any difference between the modified and unmodified soybean oil’s effects on the brain. Specifically, the scientists found pronounced effects of the oil on the hypothalamus, where a number of critical processes take place.
“The hypothalamus regulates body weight via your metabolism, maintains body temperature, is critical for reproduction and physical growth as well as your response to stress,” said Margarita Curras-Collazo, a UC Riverside associate professor of neuroscience and lead author on the study.

Genetic differences and perhaps total caloric intake because all of the rest of what you correctly specified as what they eat are high glycemic index foods which cause the too-high blood glucose spike and too-slow decline associated with metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance). Also, and most likely the reason, their gut biome as developed from the rest of their diet, the gut biome alone being where the problem probably originates as with the artificial sweeteners, something they failed to study in that study.
