Spying Isn’t Spying If Democrats Do It
They reacted with arrogance to the latest John Durham report.
Democrats howled in protest when Richard Nixon absolved himself of wrongdoing in the Watergate scandal by saying, “When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.” But today’s Democrats, caught out in a political dirty trick far greater than Watergate, adopt the same arrogant posture. Spying isn’t spying if Democrats do it, they have implicitly said in response to the investigation by Department of Justice special counsel John Durham. He is establishing that it was the Obama administration and the Hillary Clinton campaign, not the Trump campaign and Putin, that colluded during the 2016 election.
It is laughable to hear all the villains in this saga — from Hillary Clinton to John Brennan to Christopher Steele — prattle on about the purity of democracy after they assaulted it so egregiously in 2016. The Obama administration’s investigation into Trump-Russia collusion was a dirty trick from beginning to end. Its genesis traces to John Brennan, a virulent anti-Trump partisan who had no business running the CIA. He turned it into something approaching a branch office of Hillary’s campaign. It is no wonder, as Durham tells us in a recent legal filing, that one of her lawyers felt comfortable pitching anti-Trump propaganda to CIA officials.
The FBI liaison to Brennan was Peter Strzok, the agent who infamously told his mistress that he was going to “stop” Trump. That Brennan and Strzok spearheaded the investigation into Trump-Russia collusion tells you all you need to know about its partisan origins. They would later solemnly spin their partisan fishing expedition as a “counterintelligence probe” into foreign interference in the election. Former FBI director James Comey even tried to spin it as an investigation into the campaign, not Trump — an obviously bogus explanation given that he never tipped Trump off to his alleged fears.
Even at this late date, the media, to the extent that it acknowledges the Durham investigation, still casts the Obama administration’s blatant spying on the Trump campaign as proper and dutiful. The chutzpah of it all is breathtaking. Reporters continue to treat Trump as the villain, not the victim, in the story. Never mind that Durham’s findings show the spying on Trump to be even more extensive than anyone realized.
Now we know why the denials of spying on Trump Tower were so lawyerly. Both the Obama administration and Hillary’s dirt-diggers targeted it for surveillance. Comey, who never directly denied Trump’s complaint, was able to intercept communications at Trump Tower through FISA warrants based on nothing more than Hillary’s campaign smears.
Walter Duranty, the New York Times correspondent famous for his defense of Stalin, won prizes for overlooking the transgressions of Russian leaders. His successors at the Times win prizes for making them up. Putin did not compromise Trump or his campaign, yet the reporters who peddled that line now have the gall to snort at Durham’s “narrative.” Their pathetic quibbles only make sense if you accept the double standard and Trump derangement syndrome driving them: that spying isn’t spying if done against a Republican the ruling class has deemed odious.
The Obama administration sent a “confidential informant” into Trump’s campaign — Stefan Halper, a Cambridge professor, who befriended Trump campaign volunteers to pump them for information — yet reporters refuse to call that “infiltration.” Imagine if the shoe were on the other foot — if a Republican administration paid an ostensible Democrat to hang out with members of a Democratic presidential campaign for the purpose of nailing them. And imagine further that that infiltrator came up with nothing but the Republican administration unleashed FISA warrants on one of his targets anyways. That’s what the Obama administration did to Carter Page. Halper’s secret courting of Page didn’t turn up anything incriminating. But instead of shutting the operation down, the Obama administration increased the spying on him. Comey got a warrant against Page that even fudged his status as a former CIA asset.
If a Republican administration behaved like this and did so at the prodding of Republican opposition researchers, the media would never stop talking about it. Reporters strain at Republican gnats and swallow Democratic camels. Reporters have spent the last year tearing their hair out over “threats to democracy,” even as they buried the growing evidence of Hillary’s election meddling. To hide their journalistic malpractice, they now have to defame Durham as a paranoid right-winger in hock to the Republicans.
But if anything, it appears that Durham has been too restrained in his investigation. It looks like many of the principals in this travesty, John Brennan and Peter Strzok chief among them, will go unpunished. They have all failed upward, getting television gigs and book contracts, perches from which they get to comment on the very scandal they stoked. Jake Sullivan, who told lies about Russia for Hillary in 2016, is now Biden’s national security adviser. And then there is the domineering Biden aide Susan Rice, who summed up perfectly the double standard that has sanitized all the 2016 political mischief. She called the spying “by the book.”

There are two ways countries default: 1) the honest way and work with creditors 2) the dishonest way….INFLATION.

I think we are at a point where we can create a parallel monetary and economic system. The key is having servers and an internet that can’t be cut off by “the big guy”. Starlink provides an alternative connection (not dependent upon data traveling through the “infrastructure”) We need servers that are “free” from corporatism. With servers and an ISP we can create a parallel track outside of the current financial structure.
With cryptocurrencies gaining traction, there is an opportunity to create a way to make transactions outside of the banking system. Combine this with the ability to farm, manufacture and build/repair and you have a leg up on the liberal whackos – the only thing they’re good at is academics and government.
We can whine and complain all we want, but it won’t stop the freight train of out-of-control government policies heading down the mountain with no brakes from wrecking. Right now we’re on the last uphill climb traveling slow enough for everyone with common sense to know that the over loaded train with no brakes is gonna wreck once it starts the down hill descent to jump off.
Are we gonna jump off the train and find our own path forward ensuring our survival? Or, are we gonna stay on the train knowing it’s over loaded with no brakes and complain to the engineer (the government) about how’s there’s no brakes hoping we survive the crash?
I know a lot here will complain about “green energy”, but we’re at a period in time where you can put enough solar panels on your property with battery back-up to essentially be “off-grid”. I’ll be doing solar later this year. I’m not doing it to save money, but I will. I’m doing it to ensure I have power and can maintain my desired quality of life regardless of what the grid does. I’ll be building a detached garage and on the back I’m going to put in a greenhouse that should essentially cover most of our vegetable needs. It’s a hedge against inflation and added security. The only missing piece will be finding a good cattle rancher to develop a relationship with to have our meat needs taken cafe of every year.
I still believe America will survive, we must, but I’m also going to prepare for the downside in a way that helps, while also improving my families quality of life, whether we survive as a nation or get ripped apart.

This article is dead center. I spent a career in technology R&D. As crucial new technologies and products came to market, big players would sometimes agree to put market share aside when there was a greater value in decentralization and scaling, for us and our customers. Open standards would then be created to ensure no monopoly could curb the technology.
For decades it was mostly US, European and Japanese companies at the table and I saw truly amazing scaling and adoption come from well governed open standards. The next phase was when BigTech/BigData became watchwords. Then the standards groups always seem to get tied into some government agency and seemed to end up controlled by the likes GoogleAppleFacebookTwitterAmazon.
By the time I retired, Chinese companies (Huawei) and their western subsidiaries were showing up at core standards groups and we were all told to “just go along”.

Natural gas is a end-user portable fuel e.g. cars, trucks, homes and business. Coal, nuclear and hydro are not. The worst decision for America is to shift our strategy from those to natural gas for power plants which can bring coal in on a barge or train.
But what is best for America is not in the interests of global governance.
Umm, natural gas for businesses and power come in on buried pipelines. The are only a handful of facilities in the US with the capability to compress it into LNG at the scale needed for utility use. Natural gas pipelines are “just in time” but that’s easily managed. The real in NG problem is contractual.
Maybe you are thinking propane? That’s homes… sometimes. Maybe portable for a BBQ, but a home heating propane tank is as big as a car, and is usually buried in pairs.
And if you mean gasoline for cars and trucks, that’s a refined liquid “cracked” from crude oil. No one uses gasoline for power production. Even “Jet A” fuel is on its way out due to cost and environmental damage. Power production uses #6 and #2 oil, stored on site, and typically has about 3-5 days of storage capacity. Easily enough to carry thru to the next delivery.
What I meant is that natural gaslines can bring fuel directly to the end user, no matter how small. California had an “green” plan that made natural gas/gasoline cars cheap. They even subsidized small pumps to refill the fuel tanks in a home garage. The program was such a massive success that it backfired (cheap prtable vehicle fuel) so they had to cancel it.

An omnibus combined with the COVID relief package, which funded the government for the rest of FY 2021, was signed into law in late December 2020 and set the funding levels on which most federal programs are still currently running. In early December, Congress enacted a continuing resolution to fund the government until Feb. 18, 2022, after which congressional leaders hope to complete work on FY 2022 appropriations.
This regime is 100% owned, both domestically and internationally. More specifically Pfizer owns them, and my suspicion is that Pfizer deliberately held off on announcing Covid vaccine results until after the election in return for a push for mandatory vaccinations across all ages. I have 30+ year old set of Encyclopedias I bought for $10, when an old City Library was closing long ago as well as my collection of books from my West Point Days as well as professional career days. My wife has been after me to discard these books as they physically take up a large book case. All I do is point to the erasure of History, Knowledge and Literature that is occurring … then tell her I want my Grand Kids to have the opportunity to know better, the discussion ends.
