Ok I’m not an attorney. Can they actually do that? Throw it out after it’s already reached the jury stage? If so, that basically means a judge can overrule a jury verdict anytime he/she wants to.
The judge will let the jury verdict come in, in case there is an appeal on his ruling.

Retired Magistrate here: This is correct. A judge can do anything he or she wants to; it is up to one of the parties to appeal. Judges/Magistrates with integrity will always follow the law and the facts. However, we don’t seem to have many of those left.

Palin’s suit was first heard by this particular judge who dismissed the case out-of-hand prior to trial. An appeals court, however, ruled otherwise, and then returned it to him.
My feeling is that this judge knew that Palin had successfully empaneled a fair jury, and that it might return a verdict in her favor.
So, instead of letting the chips fall where they may, this judge, knowing full- well that issuing a pre-emptive dismissal at the trial stage (with a jury deliberation STILL IN PROGESS!!!) would certainly result in a mistrial being declared on appeal , he went ahead anyway with this underhanded Lawfare maneuver of forcing Palin to resubmit her lawsuit as the result of the mistrial (if she still desires), and forcing her to choose a new and different jury (possibly less fair-minded) and present her evidence once again, BUT THIS TIME WITH A NEW YORK TIMES DEFENSE TEAM THAT WILL BE BETTER SCHOOLED AND PRACTICED AT DEFENDING THE TIMES’ ABSOLUTE AND UTTER IRRESPONSIBILITY.
By the way, this kind of jurisprudence, wrong on so many levels, violating the Constitution on so many levels, is the legacy of Chief Justice John Roberts, who also, time and time again, refuses to rule on the issues presented by the litigants, but rather uses situationally determined legal stratagems to guide the outcomes according to his dishonestly hidden political preferences.
We all must recall: W not only appointed this Chief Justice, he made him Chief Justice immediately after being confirmed to the court, overlooking Justice Scalia, who, when asked why W would do that uttered, “I don’t know, it’s locked somewhere in his brain” which is a loose paraphrase.

My understanding is the judge can only set aside the verdict in the case of fraud such as paying off the jury. Finding no fraud, the judge cannot substitute his judgement for the jury. I understand they routinely do it, but it is unconstitutional. The jury is the supreme finder of fact in any courtroom. The People were supposed to serve as a check on the Judiciary.

Retired Magistrate here: Your logic would apply if you have a judge/magistrate with integrity. Unfortunately, a judge can do what he or she wants to on any particular day, in any particular court room. That is reality. I know; I have seen judges/magistrates do their own “thing” without regard to the law or facts. No, I was not one of them. Took a lot of heat for actually following the law and facts, but it was worth it. I now have nothing to be ashamed of with regard to the job I did.

When the Convoy arrived at the outskirts of Ottowa,it was LE that detirmined where convoy trucks would be dispersed.
LE ‘allowed’ the first two hundred or so in to parliament hill area, but then closed bridges, and intersections, diverting parts of the convoy to various areas of the city, and well away form parliament hill.
The truckers, politely and following the law, ‘allowed’ themselves to be dispersed at the direction OF LE.
Now, at the request of the city, they are moving their resources in around parliament hill,..where they wanted to be in the first place.
And, while JT maintains his refusal to negotiate, cause (?) the Truckers show they can negotiate, and are reasonable and accomodating.

Construction of SARS-like chimeric viruses. Construction of Chimeric SARS-Like Viruses. Both wild-type and chimeric WIV-CoV infectious clones were designed using published sequences and based on the SARS-CoV infectious clone (10). Synthetic construction of chimeric mutant and full-length WIV1-CoV were approved by the UNC Institutional Biosafety Committee and the Dual Use Research of Concern Committee.

The emergency power he invoked authorises suspending insurance and registration for the Trucks.
Big whoop. The Insurance premiums and registration fees for such trucks are considerable.
I don’t know how it works in Canada, but,..I have, on several occasions known I was going to “down” one of my truckd for a significant length of time, for a major repair, or once to put in storage.
So, cancelled my insurance and recieved a refund on unused portion of coverage.
Since insurance is mandatory, Ins Co notifies DMV of the cancellation.
But, thats o.k. cause I notify DMV the truck won’t be driven, and they ‘suspend’ the registration.
The yearly fee is pro-rated, so if there is, for instance 4 mos left before renewal, when I reinstate the registration, I’ll have 4 mos before renewal.
These truckers knew they were going to be parking their trucks for an unlimited time, and not using them to generate income, basically living in their trucks. Might as well “save” on paying Insurance and registration fees, eh?
So, yet another meaningless gesture from the boy who wants to be dictator.
You can not park an unregistered or uninsured vehicle on any public street. New York State will have your vehicle towed and impounded. If your uninsured vehicle is even parked on a public street, New York considers the owner of that car to be operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The penalties can reach into the THOUSANDS and can result in your license being suspended ($750 fee to get it back) and up to 15 days in jail.
I’d bet Canadian laws are equally as harsh.

Yes the U.S. (and other countries, e.g. U.K., Australia, Russia, Venezuela, etc.) mess with bio-weapons, viruses. But this one was let out by China. For a variety of reasons too “coincidental”, I believe that it was deliberate, and leaked during the World Military Games in 10/19.
China has a history of mysterious leaks or accidents of viruses. HINI reemergence, H3N2, SARS… But lab accidents also have occurred in UK, Venezuela, and elsewhere, in which various viral subject matter has leaked out and then caused infections in people and/or other animals.
Note: both China and America started work on COVID-19 non-vaccines by 2018. You need the COVID-19 virus to even make the non-vaccines.

Has either Martin or Fuellmich, said cov2 was transmissible person to person? The answer is no.
And do you know why they don’t claim it to be transmissible person to person?
