My wife and daughter invited me to watch a documentary last night called We Shall Not Die Now . A chronicle of the Holocaust, exploring stories of survival, tragedy, hope, and resilience through one of history’s darkest chapters. I also did some additional research on what each of the Nazi high command was responsible for. The parallels between then and now are uncanny. From the propaganda, suppression of dissenting voices, to medical experiments.
A relatively small number of people threw the world into death and destruction then and it’s happening now.
I think people are inherently “good” (not perfect) and have a hard time believing some in power could do something so evil (the straight up lying and suppression of “truth”/facts so they can implement an agenda that’s counter towards their public proclamations).
Their “suppression of the truth/facts” is causing millions of deaths already. It is a true ‘Crime against Humanity’ not just an agenda that runs counter to something they pretend to believe.
People are inherently sinful. Assuming most are good is a good way to end up with death camps.
If this plandemic has showed us nothing else, its that at least 50% in the US but far higher numbers in other countries are ok with forced poisonings, imprisoning, etc. of anyone who thinks differently than they do.

Do you chose a doctor, a mechanic, a builder, a doctor, a plumber, a dentist, a lawyer, a senate candidate, a presidential candidate, ANYTHING, based primarily on gender or race? NO! But it’s okay for our government to base their decisions, affecting all of us, on that criteria.

The Supreme Court has lost all credibility. It hardly matters who replaces Breyer. Virtually anyone would be better. In guaranteeing a selection based only on race and gender, Biden and the senators who confirm her have further damaged the reputation of the court.
Here’s the thing. Catholics are required to attend Mass every Sunday and all Holy days. If Gorsuch, is not doing that he is not a practicing Catholic and in a state of mortal sin. Also, you can’t really be a practicing Catholic and raise your children as Episcopalian.

I believe only Barret could even be thought of as a practicing Catholic currently on the court unless Thomas has fully reverted (he is divorced and remarried though so if he doesn’t have an annulment he is not a practicing Catholic).
Barret doesn’t have a lot of biological children but possibly could not have more. Kavanaugh has two kids – odds are he’s not a Catholic in good standing. Alito has two kids – not likely for a good Catholic unless he has reverted.

All that being said, I would assume the only current justices influenced by Catholicism would be Thomas (age and education), Alito (age and ethnicity), and Barret (education and affiliations)

It’s past time for the U.S. Supreme Court to correct NYTimes v. Sullivan and its progeny and reinstate the viability of libel actions by public figures against any media or person who publishes a false and damaging statement and cannot demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence having made a concerted affirmative effort to ascertain the truth before doing so.
It is not, by necessity, unemotional in its reality, though the legal standard does not require the emotion required for intent. It could be easily argued, however, that either knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for the truth were in fact driven by emotions in most circumstances. Some emotional condition such as Trump Derangement Syndrome for instance. But you are correct that emotion does not have to be proven for a successful claim/cause of action.
