Happy New Year everyone! Just wanted to mention a few things:
1) I have an autoimmune disease and was prescribed HCQ. It is generally safe, but I could not take it. This was well before 2020. Instead I took quinacrine which was cheap, established, and readily available. That is until the summer before Covid… In fact, I got one of the last bottles for $180 instead of the usual $30 or so. It is still unavailable. Looking back I’ve wondered about this having been strategic.
2) I am a teacher. Not in a union, and I refuse to teach CRT/woke nonsense etc… I may get fired for being too honest, but I won’t peddle propaganda. My kids are mostly inner city advanced students. They are truly wonderful.
In online learning (which I hate) they wouldn’t sign off until they all said ‘Have a good day, Ma’am.’ Now they line up and give me a hug before they go. This situation is an abomination against the children. The only silver lining, I hope, is that these ‘hard times have made very strong men.’ The strength is there, I promise on my honor.
3) Anyways, I work in the second largest district in NC. They started the vax or test a while back. Myself and several others I know refused to complete the survey. Consequently, we weren’t on the list to be tested with the ones who completed it. Thousands of teachers in my district refused to identify and were supposed to be tested weekly. I wonder if they are ignoring it to save money, or to what end?

I am a liberal (as liberal as a bread and butter Appalachian can be), but in the classic J.S. Mill sense. Freedom of Speech is the bedrock of liberalism and these leftists are not liberal.

They all passed their IB Philosophy exam last year in 11th grade, and there were two perfect scores. (IB scored them, not me, and grades were scored down overall not inflated) I teach the Western classics, not fluff so these are classically educated students.
They are well mannered, intelligent, and being made strong with first hand experience of the perils of communism; the light of God will pierce this darkness, and these kids will remake this country as veterens of a hidden war.
When I get angry about what they’ve done to the kids as individuals and writ large, I remember they are literally playing with hell fire. Forgive me for the length. I have shared this in the hopes of helping someone else who may struggle with the evil around us, and for anyone else trying to piece the puzzle of culpability together.

Actually the key difference is that the flu vaccine IS a vaccine.

I’ve always thought it was unfair to drug test because people that do serious drugs only need to be sober for a few days and it’s out of your system, unlike marijuana. That and the fact that they don’t test for alcohol. I have always thought it was against my rights but I have had to get drug tested to get most of my jobs. sad.

Spoke with an employee who told me their hotel doesn’t currently have a policy that requires guests to be vaccinated, and if they did it would be found on their website.
Did you personally verify this policy with the hotel yourself before posting?

Thanks MM. Glad I checked here before going further, was just about to call as I found no vax policy at Embassy Suites there. Checked Hiltons policy (they own/manage Embassy)and they refer to state/local. Checked state and it’s general guidelines, no requirements.
MagaMia, my neighbor has never purposely lied to me and I’ve been living next to her for 25 years. It was Embassy Suites @Kingston Plantation. She said it was a huge complex with two towers in the hotel and she wore a plastic bracelet the entire stay.
To answer your question, I had no reason to call the hotel to inquire if she was lying to me. She just got back yesterday. She said she saw and heard them turn people away. There were 4 women in her group and all of them had to wear those plastic bracelets.
I believe you do have an obligation to simply fact check hearsay if you’re going to post it here as the Hotel’s policy.

Back then, bias was through omission rather than fabrication but the results were similar. Rather was part of the “agenda journalism” movement that drove the bias more towards active fabrication.
Another take away from this. Leftists rarely change their ways. Rather is typical. In the face of exposure and irrefutable proof of criminal levels of libel, Rather doubles down and resorts to the standard leftist propensity of projection. I agree about the liberal proclivity for jobs in administrations, that’s historic, what isn’t is the calibre of the new recruits.
