I’ve read that she was not afraid of passing because she knew she would be reunited with him. As a widow myself, I loved that she was so unafraid to say that and live out that expectation, one day at a time, making the most of this life, but knowing REAL life starts with *death*.
She was anticipating her reunion with him no doubt. I always admired how she continued with her life knowing without question she’d see him again. A strong woman of faith.
That brings back a fond memory of them…in the ’50s black & white TV era…Thank you BJ!!!!!!! Guess we are beginning to show our ages somewhat!!!!

I remember them both on Password. The lovely connection they had was there for all to see. I remember when he passed away. The thought of them together again is truly joyous, even in the sadness of her passing.

Betty adored her late husband Allen Ludden, but kept going. Women have that trait far more than men.
Clearly everyone adored working with Betty. Hot in Cleveland was a flimsy excuse to put Betty on-screen. Like Jerry Stiller on King of Queens, you sit and wait for their appearance.
Network TV is dying because they have not developed such beloved personalities.
In the end, it always comes down to people and personalities. TV or politics. And the Democrats have? AOC? Yeah, at this point, yeah.

Somehow I just felt in my bones she wouldn’t make it to 100 because everyone framed it as a foregone conclusion.

Great movie with Betty White is LAKE PLACID. It has Bill Pullman as a Maine Forest Ranger and Brendan Gleeson as the Sheriff battling a huge alligator that Betty released in the lake from Florida and feeds the alligator local cows. It’s a bit campy and very funny.
She might have fed her husband to the alligator too!
Because 2021 didn’t suck enough. RIP.

We still watch Golden Girl reruns. She was great at delivering the funniest lines with a straight face. RIP sweet lady. How wonderful to be reunited with the love of your life, but a sad way for us to end the year.

My Mom loved Betty, and they actually reminded me a bit of each other. My Mom died on this date exactly 4 years ago, at age 91. So right now I’m sure they’re being introduced and getting to know each other. And no doubt Mom is showing her around the place, hanging out and dancing with all the young, good-looking guys, and just having a blast. Say HI to Betty for me, Mom!

She produced her own show Life with Elizabeth in the early ’50s.
If you find copies the production values are comical. The lighting is almost non-existent, and they used one set.
I remain puzzled why modern TV is swimming in money, while early TV hit shows were starving for funding. Something is off.
I have watched that show and did not find it funny or entertaining. I thought it was her least funny performance.
Lucy inspired so many other shows. To this day, TV searches for the second coming of Lucy.
Another movie about Lucy is debuting. The combination of funny and sexy remains eternally elusive.
Lucille Ball was incomparable. Gracie Allen was so underrated. She was brilliant in Burns and Allen.

Very few have that ability to light up a room when they enter, Betty White, like my mom, had that ability.
Their joy, smile, kindness, and all out, rip-roaring sense of humor, and contagious laughter are what make this world go-round.

She was 99, almost 100. And from what I read earlier, she passed away at her home. Since she apparently wasn’t ill, I’m thinking she went peacefully, perhaps in her sleep, in her own bed, in her own home. At almost 100, that’s one hell of a good way to go!
