On Giving Thanks to the Creator:
“As thou takest thy seat at table, pray. As thou liftest the loaf, offer thanks to the Giver. When thou sustainest thy bodily weakness with wine, remember Him Who supplies thee with this gift, to make thy heart glad and to comfort thy infirmity. Has thy need for taking food passed away? Let not the thought of thy Benefactor pass away too.
As thou art putting on thy tunic, thank the Giver of it. As thou wrappest thy cloak about thee, feel yet greater love to God, Who alike in summer and in winter has given us coverings convenient for us, at once to preserve our life, and to cover what is unseemly. Is the day done? Give thanks to Him Who has given us the sun for our daily work, and has provided for us a fire to light up the night and to serve the rest of the needs of life…”
On Eating:
“When you sit down to eat, pray. When you eat bread, do so thanking Him for being so generous to you. If you drink wine, be mindful of Him who has given it to you for your pleasure and as a relief in sickness. When you dress, thank Him for His kindness in providing you with clothes. When you look at the sky and the beauty of the stars, throw yourself at God’s feet and adore Him who in His wisdom has arranged things in this way. Similarly, when the sun goes down and when it rises, when you are asleep or awake, give thanks to God, who created and arranged all things for your benefit, to have you know, love and praise their Creator.”
On Worldly Troubles:
“Troubles are usually the brooms and shovels that smooth the road to a good man’s fortune; and many a man curses the rain that falls upon his head, and knows not that it brings abundance to drive away hunger.”
Another gift for us to be Thankful for on this day;
Sens. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Mark Warner (D-Va.), Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) will NOT vote to confirm Saule Omarova.
Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving to All.

Happy Thanksgiving To You All. We are all loved by GOD. That is More Than Enough To Be Thankful For.
Grand statement of truth and love!
While you are breaking bread with family this week, why not work on your family history. I know that I wished someone had given this to me long ago while my grandparents, aunts and uncles still roamed this earth. Here is a list of questions that can serve as prompts for your personal history, or as the basis for an interview of a family member:
https://www.ancestrycdn.com/email/support/InterviewQuestions.pdf
I started doing family history after a son got engaged. It was to be a one-page listing of grand- and great-grandparents. It turned out to be 30 years later, four 400+ page volumes of our children’s four lines. Once started, I couldn’t stop. This hobby was also a place to relax from the pressures and concerns of everyday life. I was able to meet distant cousins and learn more about shared ancestors, including photos of some.
Yes, I wish I had asked more questions of the elders, but like most of the young, family history was boring. Just when I got interested, the elders were gone. Frustrating.
My dad has been doing ancestry for 25 years now. I found it somewhat
interesting when I was younger. Now that I’m old enough to get all the
senior citizen discounts, I need to get back into it.
I might use it as a way to get my dad back. My folks both watch MSNBC
relentlessly. Last week we had a nice chat, until he was telling me what
a good guy and great speaker Pete Buttiegeg is. The rest of the call didn’t
go over too well.
The ancestry research dad has done might be a great distraction to have
something to bond over. There’s no way our ideologies are similar.
Both my parents accept anything ( except conservative press) as gospel.
Even with all the aggravation, I would not trade either of my folks for
anybody. They were the best when I was growing up. I’m blessed to have
both of them alive and coherent. They’re 88.
In All Things give Thanks, and Praise.
And thank you GOD for giving us your only Begotten Son, to show us The Way, The Truth, and The Life!!!
Amen and Amen!
Thanks for our founding.
Finished this fascinating audiobook. You all might enjoy.
In addition to the “On Worldly Troubles” let us add thanks for Menagerie and Sundance; may their wisdom shine in these pages, their days be long and their love for their fellow men never die.
We love and appreciate The Conservative Treehouse and all the Treepers who come here. May God Bless you all!
Happy Thanksgiving. ✝️🙏🇺🇸🦃
Thanks for the prayers. May everyone have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
I love reading Basil in the Divine Office when he comes up. This particular reading shows up once every two years
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Treepers! It’s a blessing to have known all of you for all these years.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! 🙂
Lovely. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Safe travels for those who have to do that today. I have a 60 mile drive to my sons house. And may your cake not be too boozy. Which ours is. Brandy eggnog poke cake with whipped cream frosting!
Thanks Kerry. Your cake sounds delicious.
We also have a similarly long drive to the family Thanksgiving dinner. Hoping to avoid any vaxxidents with unstable drivers. Unfortunately there’s been an uptick in weird vehicle accidents this year….
Avoid the main roads and take alternate routes over less traveled roads. Allow extra time-depart earlier.
Beautiful prayers of Thanksgiving! Thank you! A reminder we have much to be thankful for!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
And to those who are unable to be where they might want, may the Lord of Hosts give you His abundant peace. May His presence and comfort be at your table this day. In Christ Jesus Name I pray, our only Mediator and Advocate.
Many Thanks, Menagerie and CTH Friends, for your dedication to your work!
While times may be dire, and there were plenty of hardships in the year past, let us take solace and hope from Psalm 22:
“Yet You are holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.
4 In You our fathers trusted;
they trusted and You delivered them.
5 They cried out to You and were set free;
they trusted in You and were not disappointed.”
Happy Thanksgiving Sundance Staff and all Treepers
God Bless

Psalm 100: 4-5
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
That was beautiful!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours…
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
psalm 100
1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
‘’Happy Thanksgiving, Treeper family!
Such a sublime reminder. Thank you, Menagerie and great blessings to all on this day.
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving.
Good Morning friends,
Although despair seems overwhelming at times, it’s those tiny moments during the day that help keep our thoughts in order and our courage in check. I am thankful for my family. My father has had a struggle this year, 92 years old and many heart issues. We give him little goals to reach and he has made it to this day, and will meet his great-grandson today visiting from Sweden. I have received the blessing of prayer from this wonderful community and I am beyond thankful for that. I have reached the age where I value the food on my table, the roof over my head, warmth in these cold months and especially my husband of thirty one years, and my two sons. This year, I will be a guest and not a host for a lovely meal later today, and will be bringing a warm apple crisp, a pumpkin pie, and some homemade chocolate whoopie pies for dessert. As Sundance always says ……Live your best life! Prayers and wishes to all for a peaceful, gracious, and lovely day.
Thank you Menagerie… I’ve read it and I understand. You’ve made a crusty old curmudgeon think this morning… and I took those powerful words to heart.
I will strive to recognize and appreciate the gifts that I have been given, not just today but every day.
My mind and heart have been heavy with disappointment, anger, and frustration… but I am alive, able to work, and my thoughts are still my own. I live in the greatest country in the history of history and believe in the United States of America and all that she stands for.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends on the Treehouse. Have a blessed day!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
A Blessed Thanksgiving to you all
To all our American friends, Have a happy and safe Thanks Giving.
To add a little to the Thanks Giving message. For a diamond to sparkle it takes grinding. Enduring the grinding is painful but rest assured, the hands of the Master fails not, and you will sparkle for all to see.
Give thanks that the Master has chosen you to sparkle and demonstrate His handiworks.
Thank you, RabidSalad, well said!
Every now and then I repeat these words from a song to my wife,”I’m just an ol’ chunk of coal but I’ll be a diamond some day.” Cheers!
As I have stated before, I am in my sixties and have never been a member of any church, although I was baptized and christened as a baby.
Not only has this site been educational and informative.
But it has awakened me to a genuine interest in Christianity and now possess a Bible for the first time in my life.
One which although not read enough, seems to give me great comfort and a previous unknown direction.
Who would have thunk it!
Although we Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October.
Let me wish all you fine CTH supporters a terrific day.
For you Dekester,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. “ John 3:16-17.
God bless you, Dekester; and keep reading. It gets better and better!
Thank you!
Amen!
Irish Thanksgiving blessing – An Irish PrayerMay God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer to each prayer.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Treepers.
May your plans come to fruition, and your celebration safe and peaceful.
Be tired and content in the evening.
Happy Thanksgiving all! Through it all, no matter what we face, we know that God is Good and we give the thanks to Him who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us.
Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to all you Treepers.
This year is the 400th anniversary of Thanksgiving in America. God Bless America, and thank you God for giving us this great land. May we be able to have 400 more.
