First, certain medication like OxyContin are addictive not only because one needs pain relief but because of the way they work.

Sen. Johnson, R. WI. has been great during this mess. He also held that Round Table of vaxed people who’d suffered/are suffering side effects of the vax.
The CDC and our government generally is ONLY telling us what they want us to know. Or to put it another way, what Big Pharma wants us to know!
Contrast Sen Johnson’s position to that of President Trump’s. Although he supports our freedom to choose, President Trump thinks the vaccines are great, agrees with the host that the case numbers are up because of the unvaxxed, J&J should not have paused giving the shot, developed natural immunity and also took both doses of Pfizer. His positions are frighteningly misinformed.

What I see from Johnson is the familiar uniparty member who for a moment in time represents us. It’s a flash, not serious and will disappear soon. Then we’ll have another sighting of Rand Paul and so on . . . . .

IMO, both and add to that some ego, groupthink
I think that ego is the main issue, to be honest…he trusted his advisors regarding both the lockdowns and the vaccines and they were 180 degrees WRONG in both cases – maybe some of them were sincere and thought they were giving good advice, especially early on. But there were others (Pence and Fauci are the main ones, IMHO) who were deliberately lying to him and he did not overrule them or seek other counsel. And he has never specifically come out and said that he was lied to, even in light of all of the evidence from Fauxi’s emails. (I know he won’t ever do that but I still wish he would!)
And yet he continues to speak out in numerous interviews about how proud he is of getting these vaccines rushed to market and how he thinks everyone should take them. He does always add that it should be everyone’s “choice” but he never specifically addresses or condemns the mandates, which is my greatest frustration and disappointment at this point!

I agree with you on this specific to the President’s views on covid. Why on earth would someone that recovered from covid elect to take the Pfizer inoculation? That is not the way thousands of years of human immunology has worked.
I’d rather have seen him sitting in a park with a card table sign that says, “I’ve recovered from covid, convince me I need an experimental inoculation”
I suppose Trump took the advice of his physicians, as did my niece, who has cancer, and was given the vaccine. The medical community was trusting the FDA and CDC at first. That is what they have to do until they have clinical experience themselves.
The physicians, for the most part, are in lockstep with their owners and fearful of loss of license, jobs and liability suits. Believing they have our best interest at heart is the old paradigm.

Yeah.In 7th grade math class we were taught how to balance a checkbook. And tested on it. Apparently 99% of Congress missed that class.
Talk to 40 and younger about balancing your checkbook… They laugh… I know because mine do… It is not that they don’t know how… they just don’t!

But IMHO the most important skill is to learn how to use a credit card.
It took me years, but I became what the companies hate the most – they call it a “floater.” That’s someone who pays off the entire balance every single month without incurring interest.
Whenever they provide rewards programs, or especially when they offer a deal over time, I often take it – but I pay it off ahead and again, never owe them any interest.
They hate me. I love that.
Went to parochial school (i.e., Mom and Dad paid tuition). As such, I always had to have a full schedule (no free periods). Two of the classes I took as fillers, typing and accounting (checkbooks, credit cards, interest rates, etc.) continue serving me well. The number of people I meet who don’t know how to balance a checkbook is stunning.

I’ve been trying to do some research on the Trump administration and Pfizer. Part of the difficulty is that online articles are often a little fuzzy on dates, which are important if you are trying to establish timelines.
I had heard the criticism that president-elect Trump asked RFK Jr. to head a vaccine safety committee, but then took a donation from Pfizer, and we ended up with no Bobby and Scott Gottlieb as FDA head.
Not exactly. Pfizer and other drug companies did contribute to the inaugural, as they have done with other presidents.
Pfizer may have been especially generous, as candidate Trump had made some public statements supportive of “anti-vaxx” positions.
However, Pfizers donation was made on December 31, 2016, and Donald Trump went ahead and asked RFK Jr. to head vaccine safety ten days later:

Scott Gottleib wasn’t chosen as FDA head until April of 2017.
So, there was no smoking gun, no illegality, no bribery, certainly no wrongdoing on President Trump’s part, as I am doubtful that he was totally aware of what was going on, but Pfizer still managed to get their guy in place.
Who made the decision in the White House to “clarify” RFK’s announcement, and why, would be nice to know.
Although that DailyBeast (CIA front IMO) article is dated 2019, RFK Jr.’s meeting with Trump was from when he was President Elect and more meetings over the next 4-5 months. After the meeting over Christmas 2016, when Trump was President Elect, Trump told him to go ahead and announce it. RFK Jr. says that once the hand picked Pfizer lobbyists were given their positions that was the end of the vaccine safety commission (“as soon as those two guys got in, they shut us down”).

Thank you for additional clarification of the timeline. I feel like this is important because if we do have some kind of reckoning, and after what happened in Australia (taking money to order mandatory vaccines) I don’t see how they can keep this covered up, there will be attempts to place blame on President Trump to cover for others.
Isn’t everything happening in the world still ‘all Trump’s fault’? always has been, always will be. Mainly because he wasn’t a ‘part of the big club’, and they are jealous of his popularity. I still like Trump a lot, and what he tried to do for all Americans, but he would be foolish to try to run again as the whole media complex would “demand” that he fix all of the wrongs by the day after his re-inaugeration.
I would prefer that he run, win, and the day after his inauguration, tell the “whole media complex” to pound sand, and start cleaning things up.
I don’t like his stance on the vaccine either, by the way. I hope circumstances force him to change it in a big way, and soon.
