My heart breaks daily for the elderly. Can you imagine everything they have lived through only to be treated so horrifically toward the end of their lives? Can everyone just let them live in peace?

Why can’t they leave all of us in peace? The elderly, the children whose childhood and fun has all been stolen from them. They are control freaks. They love telling people what they have to do. They get off on authority and bossing people around.
In the begining of this nonsense I ran into the grocery store to get blueberries with my daughter. We had the mask on but under our noses so we could breathe and this obese older woman drove her scooter cart 20 ft across the produce section to tell my daughter to pull up her mask. If she was actually afraid of covid wouldn’t she have ridden as fast as she could away from us? But no she came over to correct the behavior of perfect strangers 20 ft away. And frankly if she had taken better care of her health she wouldn’t have had to drive her cart instead of pushing it like everybody else.

My heart weeps for the joys of young adulthood that are being stolen from the youth of the world.

He hangs out with people many nights of the week for a beer or two. He said, “I’m living MY best life.” He’s not letting them take it away. He wears a mask when he has to, will have to prove negative on a covid test he’ll take to go on a well deserved vacation next month (got himself into a dreaded timeshare a few years back), but NO FEAR. And he’s willing to lose his job if the shot ever becomes mandated at his VERY WOKE company. We are both surprised they didn’t jump right onto Biden’s mandate, which is a good sign it ain’t gonna happen. (My woke very large company has not said a peep since then either!)
Yes, of course, live the best life that you can under these circumstances. But that life is severely curtailed in too many instances: weddings, trips cancelled; travel curtailed; jobs and businesses lost; illnesses and quarantine, on and on . . . .

I was asked by a clothing store employee if I had a mask and, replied I do not wear one for medical reasons. The employee who, at about 5′ 1″ and about 200 lbs stated I could not shop without a mask. I almost said judging from your size you have not been wearing a mask over your mouth either. However, since the store is private property and I respect private property rights, I kept that thought to myself and departed. I am saving that insult for another fat Karen for another day !!!

Always been willing to give a hand to someone in need, but I have learned to NEVER use a “middleman”. If I know someone personally, the cash flows from my pocket to their need. I have also learned that if it goes from my pocket to theirs, they often don’t use very good judgement on how they spend it.
In these specific times of job loss due to tyranny, utitilities need to be paid and food put on the table. Many of us are blessed to be in a position to help. IMO, throwing money every which way hurts more than helps. We need to focus and vet.

I was at the grocery yesterday. Two healthy, quite robust looking men in front of me were decked out in black jeans and black t-Shirts, and matching black masks. I took my irritation out on the black masked clerk. I said to him, “ You know, the science shows that masks are NOT effective at all as protection against the Covid virus, so consider if someone with Covid checked out early in your shift, and you were breathing that virus in and out, in and out, for a considerable time”.
(I was inspired by the stories of the mothers who took the masks their children epwere forced to wear all day at school to a lab for examination, and there were dreadful bacteria lurking there).
I shall now make every person wearing a mask whom I meet consider the same comment for many are being victimized by the compliance of these mindless robots.
I agree with you, but I have a flipside to share. My son has worked ICU from 1st COVID admission. He was hoping to avoid shot by testing his antibodies, believing his exposure would provide natural immunity. His bloodwork showed no immunity, and his conclusion: “See mom, I just proved masks work”. Highly educated, but he will not hear that an absence of something is not a verifiable outcome. Only through controlled head to head studies specifically for COVID, can the efficacy of masks be determined. They are worthless, IMO, against viruses, but why hasn’t it been done?
My high school friend got Covid March of last year, she is a nurse and went to the ER on a Wednesday and took hydroxy/zpack and was better and released by Sat with oxygen at home for about 4 more days! She survived with over-the-counter after and had a ’bout’ of diabetes (she is a big girl = comorbidity) Well, she STILL has antibodies after 18 mos!!
She is now being asked to get vaccinated at her workplace, to date she has been able to stave off the request! She does wear a mask, and got covid prior to any vaccinations available, so I will go sciency here and hope we get to herd immunity quickly!

Probably a couple generations away. This great country was settled and frontiers guarded and developed by brave men and women escaping horrendous tyranny in their native countries. Today’s Americans have faced little hardship of any type. Just the “Russia,Russia,Russia” that kept us running for the shelters during bomb drills in our school years, and my kids nor their kids have dealt with much of any threat at all. We three generations have lived comfortable lives. Sacrifice is likely not in the genes of far too many spoiled Americans.

The closer to the people – that is, the smaller the division of government – the less-likely it is that anyone serving in said government in a legislative role is doing that on an exclusive, or nearly-so, basis.
Most State Legislatures are part-time; that is, they meet for a couple months out of the year, plus the rare special session here and there. Essentially all County Commissions and City Alderman (or whatever they call them in your town) are. Every one of those people is utterly reliant on either a job or a business they own or control to put food on their table, keep their house and feed their family — just like you are. They’re just as vulnerable to attack on that means of earning a living as you are as well so why don’t you use it and go after them when they threaten to or actually do it to you?
Every single place I have ever lived required any business to obtain a county license, most business require state registration (even if only for sales tax) and a large percentage require licensing of either the firm, certain people in it, or both.
The County or State can pass an ordinance requiring any non-discriminatory code of conduct they choose on said firms as a condition of that license. Refuse to comply, you’re closed right here, right now. Period. It doesn’t matter who you are — a hospital, a car dealer, a grocery store, a restaurant, etc. Done through regular legislative order these ordinances (or in the case of a state, laws) are presumptively valid and enforceable.

Be targeted about it. Get 10, 20 or 100 other people in your local area and pick on one of them. Let’s say one of your County Commissioners owns a very popular tourist location in your town. Picket it with the intent of destroying the customer volume he does at his business until and unless he, along with the rest of the Commission, do what you want.
In this case, specifically, as a condition of a County Business License “no license holder or their agent may inquire of employee or customer personal medical status nor demand any medical treatment, prophylaxis or personal health record, effective immediately.”
That eliminates the firm’s ability to put in place a vaccine mandate and arguably bars mask mandates too; they either comply or they’re done. You can’t operate without a business license; the Sheriff can and will come and chain the doors closed!

I read that NEJM report the other day and I even read the miscarriage statistics. But this author explains that the rate of miscarriage is actually much higher than reported because most “natural” miscarriages occur during the first trimester.

First time unemployment claims are announced on a Thursday. Today’s were about 20,000 higher than predicted.
I’m in Texas. Yesterday I had to go a our local big Wal-Mart for things I cannot get at the neighborhood one I always go to. While I was there I did the rest of my shop, so my cart was pretty full, and it was full of cumbersome/ heavy items. I made my way to the tills, whereupon I discovered that the ONLY ones open were self checkout. I’m of a certain age, not frail, but it would have taken me close to 30 minutes to unload, scan bag, and pay.
I approached a lady working there, and she was engaged in conversation with another woman of my age, also with a full cart. The look on the customer’s face told me she was discussing the problem of no checkers. So I interrupted to find out where the heck were all of them. This was at noon, so there should at least a few of the 30 tills open.
I was told that Wal-Mart could not get anybody to work. I mean ?????????!!
I asked her so since I had to do it myself, would Wal-Mart give me a 10% discount? it was a rhetorical question of course, and I made it clear I realized she was not responsible for the deplorable lack of staff. In the end, she came with me to a self checkout and actually scanned my purchases and bagged, so kudos to her. Now, this in Texas. We’ve stopped the extra Covid benefits, as has the federal government. So what the heck is going on here? I’m really scratching my head. With Christmas coming up (Wal-Mart had all their seasonal decorations and toys out by the way), how are they going to handle that? There were very few shopping yesterday. I certainly won’t be going there again if I can help it. It would be a point of interest to me if other of their big centers are having the same problem.

There is speculation that several millions are permanently and catastrophically debilitated by the mRNA poison shot, and another million or so are dead. So, yes, we have lost a lot of working aged people.
Also, Walmart NEVER CLOSED during the pandemic. Places that shut down sometimes had their help find other work in the meantime, and not come back, or other reasons; but Walmart was fully staffed all during the pandemic, and now they are not!
What did they do with the workers they had?

A lot of places have “vaccine mandate” as a pre-requisite to working there. As for Walmart specifically being low on employees – a couple of weeks back I overheard one of the regular self-checkout overseers talking to a coworker. Apparently she needs major – life-saving – surgery. Her manager will only give her two days off, not on the only days when an appointment is given, and when the employee tried to contact the district manager she was blocked. So unless she quits her job, she may literally die.
So that’s one reason people won’t work at Walmart.

I know not in Walmart specifically, but in other businesses locally, they have been cutting the workers’ hours, and staffing the shifts with way fewer people. That means one person is having to do the work that three did before.
Notice in retail establishments the merchandise often hasn’t been placed on racks or shelves in a timely fashion.
I think some people were making 3, 4x more than what they normally make. So if they saved, they can go several months before they have to work again. If they saved it. I think the pay out was about 4K+ per month. Plus free rent plus welfare, plus plus plus.
Who needs work? Everything is free.
Oh… and schools were handing out food boxes to the families in the parking lot every week for months.
My church wanted volunteers to help with school lunches.
Churches are feeling the push to become delivery systems for social justice-type issues.
The reason they kept school lunches going without school, was because the contracts with the suppliers would have to be cancelled, which would eventually lead to lost revenue for Big Food.
There is free lunch for all this year for public schools in my area. Flush with COVID cash as long as they comply with mandates.
As far as food banks and collections, saw that scam over 10 years ago. Who knows who and where all this food goes. Keep on giving.
My family gives our excess fresh eggs to FarmShare at a local church. The eggs go into boxes that needy families come and get. If you know your local food bank/FarmShare is actually handing food out to needy people, yes, please do give. In Florida, I can’t by law sell my excess eggs, so what better way to dispose of the excess bounty God has blessed me with than to feed hungry people?
In the abstract, feeding “hungry needy people” sounds so Christian and righteous and ALL food banks prey on that emotional angle. It makes the giver feel good, but I have seen first hand some recipients of programs like these. It’s been my experience that God puts those in need directly in my path. Often those needs are not tied to the material.
Most businesses are experiencing the same problem. Another part of the problem is management. I would say the store had way more than 1 employee working. I would venture to say if you roamed the isles you would find a few more employees. The managers never seem to worry about check out. Everything else is more important than getting people out the door. Its like this many places.
I did roam… And no, there were very few. I said good morning to one gentleman and asked how he was. He said “I’m still on my feet.” That said everything into me.
We just spent time close to 40 hours on the road, traveling for specialized medical care. This was across the Midwest and the southeast. Everywhere had help wanted signs! The owners of the bed and breakfast we stayed at said they literally cannot get any staff except finally two people to help clean who for various reasons are not really up for the job. We discussed this situation with them, and we had just been traveling and said it was the same all over. Many places had cut back hours and even days of operation. I keep thinking of the “great reset” and think they are trying to accustom us to chaos and low expectations. ( We have been patronizing local restaurants, etc. and more than once have showed up to find them closed, even though according to the posted hours they should be open).
So, I have been wondering about this, too. Two years ago we had full employment under President Trump, and yes there were jobs postings, but I don’t remember it being like this with random closures and literally no one taking jobs. (Oh, and then there’s the whole issue of the supply chain! One local gas station/convenience store can’t get plastic lids of all things! Again, are we being groomed to accept shortages and instability?)
One local employer here posits that employees are just getting a good starting salary (White Castle here is offering 13.50 to start— flipping burgers!!!) and then working long enough to get fired and go back on generous unemployment. I don’t know, but it’s for sure something very strange is going on. How are people making enough to buy groceries and basic necessities with that approach? And, forget planning and saving for any retirement that way.

Just yesterday I was reading a review of shoes available online. A woman said she ordered shoes in her size 3 times, and each time she got a pair with the left shoe smaller than the right.

On this topic- wait till you hear my experience yesterday in a Westchester, NY dollar store.
I went in to purchase packing supplies for my business. When I went to check out I was literally horrified and terrified.
The young (white) man at the counter had the worst rash I have ever seen on a human being. He was covered with large red patches that looked to be painful, all over every part of his body that was visible- Face, neck, arms, hands. Of course the poor guy was wearing a muzzle mask over his face and it must have been really uncomfortable.
I have no idea of this skin condition was contagious or not. Honestly, I don’t know how he could work, but more important, this is how DESPERATE the stores are for workers.
The young man was very nice, competent and I acted like nothing was wrong. But I immediately went to my car and washed my hands with sanitizer.
The corporate owners make the workers wear masks as theater, to show that they are trying to “keep everyone safe.” What a load of crap.
If I had seen that poor young man before getting on line, I would have put my items down and walked out of the store.

If you refuse to dig through this mass of information, I’d like for you to consider why the US has over 200 COVID deaths per 100,000 while India reports 33 COVID deaths per 100,000 population (Wikipedia). Why is that? Is it because India is too poor to pay $30,000+ per COVID death? Is it because in the US, people who were able to spell COVID and died were counted as COVID deaths? Is it because India can’t afford $3,??? per shot and have to survive with $10 treatments?

My brother is a 20 yr employee and he was informed he will be fired if he doesn’t have 2 vaccine shots by Oct. 18. He is absolutely not wanting to get it, but will now that they warned him again yesterday.
I wrote our SC state Rep. Talley, my Congressional Rep Timmons, my brother’s Congressional Rep Mace, Lt. Gov. Alan Wilson, and Governor McMasters. The only response I received was a mealy-mouth non-answer from McMasters. He stated he’s against government vaccine mandate, but didn’t take a position on one of his state’s largest cities forcing vaccine on their employees.
My brother was informed the following: You will be required to get any and all booster shots moving forward to keep your job. It is not allowable for you to publicly dispute vaccine mandate without risking losing his job, cannot engage in anti-vax talk on the job without risking losing his job. Lastly, he was told that the county has been absolved in wrongdoing for injuries resulting in a forced vaccine by OSHA, and if he continued to push for an answer on vaccine injury liability, he risks losing his job.
My brother expressed concerns to his doctor about his health and taking this vaccine and asked about an exemption. He was told just to get the vaccine because it’s 100% safe and it’s the right thing to do. His doctor said they will give no one an exemption, period.
SC Senate pass S.177 in 04/21 to ban vaccine mandates. Of course, the Senate closed the 2021 session right after this, so it has not been passed, and there seems to be no hurry to pass it by SCGOP. I cannot find any relief for him, and need help finding some way to keep him from having to get injected with gene therapy drug. Any help provided is more than appreciated. Ok, so Congress exempted the manufacturers from liability, but you should have a choice to take it or not and therefore someone must be on the hook for any adverse effects. You can’t have every entity exempt from liability and be forced to take something. It makes no sense.
There must be a lawyer somewhere that can get the position adjudicated.
Once someone is held accountable, then there will be a change in position on forced vaccination. It’s easy to mandate something if there’s no repercussions.

Firing a government employee for exercising his right of free speech is reprisal. He should picket his workplace before and after work, on the sidewalk. Get the locals to cover his protest if there are any.
