Many years ago I lived overseas, didn’t know the local language but for useful words, focused on my job, worked out to stay in good physical shape, spent my free time chasing skirts and drinking beer and only thought of the home front in the sense that I was performing a mission to support the American cause. I had no television, a very limited newspaper written in English, no cell phone, no internet and no email. I listened to music most of the time. I had a really good time with the separation and distance from family and county. My outlook and spirit were sky high positive. After the last election, I’ve decided to return to those roots from many long years ago. I found my demeanor changing as a result of our country’s downward spiral and the influence of various news/social platforms. I don’t know that we are beyond the tipping point yet, having personally witnessed some pretty dire circumstances overseas, but I can say without a doubt that our Constitution has been replaced. The de facto new constitution, the Civil Rights Act from the ’60s dominates life today as we know it. I can say that my re-focus on what’s important, job, spirit, health and my own family has rekindled my energy. I’ve eliminated all the distractions that the news/social platforms serve up daily. I have only one remaining national act I will perform in my life when called upon to do so and that is to pick up a rifle to save this country and its Constitution. Unlike our current military, I do know what a domestic enemy looks like.
Thanks for sharing that insight. I appreciate that you will fight to defend what is left of our Constitution. I hesitate to say that there might be domestic enemies wearing camo and blue uniforms. Some very difficult decisions lay ahead.
I agree. It’s not going to be easy and will get downright ugly and nasty, as if it hasn’t already. The difference today is that only 1 side has taken up arms. And this side is desperately trying to indoctrinate the guys in camo and blue to get in line before their schemes are permanently in place. However, we can use our ability to hide among the population in civies to slowly chip away at their resolve. Each of us locally know who is on what side, just like in Iraq and Afghanistan, or Poland, and not to mention our own revolution. The ugliness will be on the level of The Civil War, brother against brother, but the cancer has metastasized throughout American life. I’m afraid only radical treatment is left and if you don’t have the stomach to fight for your freedom, then when the government confiscates your bank accounts and retirement funds, because it is coming, then maybe you’ll be motivated too. I already know a few teachers in my AO that get the first head shots.

The most difficult decision will be/has been severing family ties. Pushing 70 here, youngest of four siblings. The only MAGA one in the bunch. At my age it would be good to live the rest of my life engaging with family who are also friends. Breaks my heart they cannot even have a civil conversation if that conversation involves politics.
Fi- I am in the same boat. My adult children, both siblings and most other relatives are Demo Commies.
If we were not related and they were not the parents of my beloved grand kids, I don’t know how much I would have to do with them. It is very hard not to consider them The Enemy. Their politics is abhorrent to me in every respect.
Yet I tell myself- don’t judge them by their stupid words, judge them by their acts. They are otherwise good, decent and hardworking people. Just brainwashed from college.
That sucks Seneca, I’m lucky in that my parents, aunt and uncle, sister and two cousins are all MAGA. My wife’s family is all MAGA except two of my wife’s nieces who got indoctrinated at Christian colleges, it’s sad to see how warped their thinking has become.
I have a friend moving her to AL from CA and most of his family is following. He votes dem, but he really shares 80%+ views I do so I think it’s an old habit voting dem from his upbringing, but all his children are MAGA. One of his granddaughters was over during Thanksgiving and was telling us about how she’d confront her high school history teacher when he’d go off subject and talk politics in the classroom. I was happy to here that!
All we can do is treat others as we want to be treated, leave politics out if it’s a toxic topic and pray they’ll find the truth. I’m by no means saying the GOP is the solution, but the liberal commie thinking and policies is definitely a large cause of problems.
Really, I wish both sides would focus on implementing things that are agreeable and table those where there’s not support rather than holding hostage food items to get a “vote” thereby forcing unpopular policies down the throat of the American people.

Exactly!! I was surprised at how they both turned very liberal, became vegan at two separate “Christian” colleges at the rate of 20,000+ a year.
I suspect it depends on the school. We always need to do our homework and take nothing for granted. There are many good, faithful Christian Schools and churches out there.
Funny you mention that your wife’s nieces got indoctrinated at “Christian” colleges. I have just gone through the same with several members of my family. They claim to be Christian yet fully embrace the depravity and Godlessness of the left. I tried to caution them them to stand back and actually think about what they are supporting in light of the word of God. They have decided that the demonrat party, cancel culture, the wokeratti and saint george are more important than any relationship they had with me. Its hard to accept but not much I can do about it. I pray for them daily. I just ask God to open their hearts and eyes as only He can.
Now here is the kicker. My in-laws who are white and who also do not share our politics are completely loving and embracing. They have decided we will not discuss politics. We get together. We laugh, we have fun, we eat. Hubby, makes a few “comments” and gets the “look” from his mother and that’s about it. They chose family over politics.
I am in the same situation. My kids are split 2-2, those who see the light and the “liberal” la-la land crew who are all for social justice as they live that will never feel the wrath of their beliefs.
Got to be nice to both sides for the sake of the grand kids.
My brother and his kids are believers while my sister is so overwhelmed by her current domestic situation v/v issues with her kids to care.
The majority of the rest of the family in PA and NY are la-la land democrats for life, who live in sheltered suroundings and are never impacted and rely on TV news as their basis of truth. A year old I did this to a dinner guest to my house. I said how many people do you think watch CNN in prime time. He made a huge guess, then I googled the ratings and that week it was about 300,000 nightly. He was shocked. But now, he is wearing two masks after having had Covid and both shots of vaccine.

She watches MSM which I do not. I replied, ‘No, those that are up in turmoil are only those that wish to tear America down. The overwhelming majority do not. I hear you, Seneca! Some of my adult children are full blown commies. Sadly, when I apply my litmus test to determining an Enemy, they ARE such. Reality sucks.

Our need and desire to be civil for the grandchildren will be our demise. It keeps the Enemy in control because once we are vocal, believe me, the grandchildren will be withheld from exposure to the Evil Grandparents. So, we tow the line,saying only approved things.
With the setup of us being nice, the Enemy gathers info on us and will, when we do not behave as they want, be used against us.
I have come to the point that I will not be silenced or my personality denied in my own home for the sake of grandchildren. They can seek me out when they are adults and/or read letters and prayers left in my will for them.
A daughter-in-law would not come over, which meant Son and kids did not come over. Why? Because, even though we do not talk anything politics, we had put up a Trump2020 flag! She felt it was not respectful and attacking her.
Other adult children thought we should take it down for family gatherings. I said this is my home and if they want to believe a Trump Flag is representative of all the love and selfless sacrifice I poured on them, then it is their decision to reject my love.
It is freeing not to be emotionally controlled by our adult children.
My younger children were born after their grandparents were dead. They survived without. We are not as important as we think. Once I realized this, I committed to living my retirement celebrating a new life with my husband.
For over forty years our love has been squeezed in between surviving, raising family, etc.. NOW is about US living our love, delighting in our precious time together, living OUR adventure. We did a damn good job giving our children the skills to be adults. They will be fine without us in their daily lives.

Great post Fb. It’s a wonderful life you have and have held onto. I wish I could do the same but it’s because I cannot live without my grand kids, not that they cannot live without me, that I tolerate, to a degree, my son’s dive in the dark side of leftwing woke politics.
When my little ones are older I may feel differently if I’m still around and things don’t change politically for me and my eldest. Right now, one of my greatest pleasures is taking my youngest grandchild by her chubby little hand and just going for a walk to explore the world though her 3 year old eyes. I selfishly, cannot and will not, give that up because these moments for both of us will be gone in a heartbeat never to come back again. Politics isn’t as important as that child to me right now, no matter how much I abhor my family’s left leaning dive into politics. I am not that strong unfortunately.

Seneca, your situation is a mirror image of mine. If not for my grandchildren, I’m not sure if I would be talking to my oldest son at this point. They are all good people, productive and loving parents. Their politics are stomach turning for me.

I am from where you live. My old friends and roommates and cousins who are back there are all the same as your children. It is a liberal bubble. That is a large part of why I left but it was very hard to move out West and leave the good parts. Took years.

Gives a very clear explanation about how/why we see things so differently from those on the Left. And you are correct – understanding the need for boundaries and limitations is one of the biggest differences!

I cut off my family years ago for non political reasons. One brother is a libtard……still in our home state of New Mexico. His longtime girlfriend is a Demo-commie-fascist and a witch.
Another brother is RINO, closed his business in Albuquerque, NM and moved to Arizona last year. The other brother is moderate, still in Colorado last I heard.
Thankfully all of my cousins, both sides of family, are Conservative…..but……they are ignorant about the RINOs, Pres. Trump etc. They all are very intelligent otherwise.
They begrudgingly voted for Pres. Trump. Hopefully all this Demo-commie-fascist destruction will open their eyes to the problems with RINOs.

At 48 I’m the youngest of four (much younger than my siblings). Two brothers – a retired assistant chief of police from a large southwest border city, and a retired Army Lt. Colonel, helicopter pilot who served in Bosnia and the middle east; my sister, who is a now a retired educator (second retirement) also served in the army. All lefties now; they were America loving patriots up until they obtained their masters degrees later in life. So thankful that neither of my children had any desire to go to college.
Interesting and concerning that people who go to college later in life – who would have had already well-established personal values – do such an about-face and become liberals!

My family is about 70/30 lib vs Patriot. Many of us no longer speak, we just avoid each other all together as politics can no longer be avoided in conversation. Since I have lived in Blue areas most of my life, I have also lost a majority of my friends. It’s sad, but our country must be saved (and they don’t know it, but saving our country also saves said friends and family from a lifetime of oppression- as none of them are power elites who will still be allowed property, steak and Mercedes). It’s just too important. If we love our families (the young kids break my heart, what will they live with?), whatever their politics, we must support our country.

My only brother convinced my Mom that I am a radical, a racist, and because I don’t believe that all people are legal, an “animal.” Yes, my mother calls me that. I am grateful that my wife of over 35 years, our two sons, my in laws, and our extended family have open eye and a brain to think with. Never in my life did I think that America would be this divided. In the old days, we could agree to disagree. We saw a great deal growing up in the socialist late 60’s and early 70’s Scotland.
The emigration to the U.S.A. was a dream for many. We knew several folks that had done just that.
When they came “home”for a visit the story was always the same. Come if you can.
Well we got the opportunity to come to Canada, thank goodness we did. Although the U.S.A at the time would have been our #1 choice.

I dare say our turn is coming, as we tend to follow the U.S.A. a few years later. But our immigrants Sikh, Euros and Asians value property, and making for a better life.

What I am seeing from over here (South Africa), albeit from a distance through media (not MSM), the race hustling in the US, and it’s intended result – racial tensions – followed soon if not already by racial violence is WORSE than even during the Apartheid era. While at the time the “revolutionaries” veiwed their fight as legitimate (agreed), it never appeared to take on a personal level attack against Whites in general – hell we still worked side by side every single day – now with a majority Black Government, and truly in control of just about all except farming and mining, it’s only the same type of race hustler here (thankfully few) that stir the same old BS and in a way, quite remarkably, very few want anything to do with it. It’s not like we’re all suddenly best of pals, but in general everybody is quite happy to just go about their traditional and “normal” way of life – It’s only the “elite” Blacks that appear to want to be White, I believe the majority still believe there is something not quite Kosher about the White man, better he keeps to himself.

I have read reports of violent crimes against rural farmers in South Africa. Can you update us on this.
Yes farm attacks are an ongoing serious concern, probably deliberately focused, but you may be surprised to know that the majority of Blacks here do not support such attacks. Sure the land problem is always present, but the desire to actually invade Zimbabwe style is hopefully still a ways off, and probably would not occur without the usual political instigators. The majority of the locals here are more than furious with their own government for “capturing” (stealing) Kabillions over the years, while the people who put them there (the majority) still haven’t moved an inch since apartheid days – in fact many will testify that their lives were better during Apartheid – at least any services they had – worked. So in a nutshell, in general, there are no real racial tensions, no obvious animosity, mostly friendly with no get out of town cries, but we’re all aware, this is Africa, things could be different tomorrow morning.

Nice back history Dek. My wife’s father and family emigrated to the US from Scotland nearly a hundred years ago, all 6 of them. My wife and I took him back for his first visit after nearly 50 years and it was a blast. Nice that we had a ‘translator’ to speak Scottish for us! Ha. Anyhow, he looked up some old old friends that he played together with on his Glasgow soccer team. Each said that he had done the right thing by getting out back then.

It’s so interesting to ‘listen’ to your conversation about Scotland. As a yank, who has only read about that country but never been there in person, it just amazes me that the scots would ever be lefties. I fear we are on the cusp of both a Civil and Race War. Given that blacks are only ~14% of U.S. population, I don’t know how that will play out, but they have many sympathizers who are non-black on their side.
I am not racist and have many black co-workers who are decent, non-violent people. It’s a shame so much attention is given by the left-wing media to the few who are disruptive. The MSM is part of the push towards dividing the country.
I have training in Critical Race Theory and when someone says they are not a racist, they are. They are unwilling to admit it and those are the most in need of re-education. I’ll be filing a report, it’s my civic duty to begin to atone for my DNA although there can never be justice.

I presume you are a Vet, if so, thank you for your service. What helps keep my spirits up is I find there are Patriots all around us, even in Blue zones. I keep my eyes and ears open and I find them, daily. You can tell if they are unhinged lunatics, so I stay away from them. But others, little side comments and expressions often get a response. For example, a waiter in CA-I commented on the business, how was he doing, masks, etc…started a 10 minute conversation with this secret Patriot and I was rewarded with a free glass of wine (of course, he was talking very quietly, though animated, as he kept an eye on other diners/staff as he was obviously afraid of being heard). Start talking to people, it certainly makes me feel a bit better. And so many want to talk, they are just afraid to do so. And sadly, while they are Patriots who love their country and don’t like what is happening, they are (for the most part) severely uniformed on the severity of the situation (and many are still afraid of COVID). Sometimes I just make comments in passing to hopefully get people’s brains out of their fog. I fyou are walking with someone, speak loudly around others about the Stanford study showing masks are ineffective in controlling COVID and actually cause health problems. Comment to a cashier cleaning pens that you just touched a hundred items in the store so what does a clean pen matter. It at least makes them think abut it, and it keeps my spirits up to point out the nonsense. I am planning to comment the next time I eat meat at a restaurant that I hope the Communists climate deal won’t effect their business since we won’t be allowed to eat much meat, not to mention the electric car requirement is really going to effect people’s eating out budgets. SO many people just don’t know what’s going on, and they need to hear it. If I can get through to at least one person a day, I feel a sense of accomplishment and burst of positive energy.
I did something like that while sitting next to a guy on a plane. And I said it will be interesting when they install all the solar panels on these planes so that we can keep flying. And he gave me the wierdest look and said yeah, I cant understand how they will be able to do that. lol

The city of Asheville has given her 10 citations for not being obedient. Yesterday she was in court and the city offered her a plea deal: if she pleads guilty to 1 of the citations they would drop the rest. If she did not they would give her more citations. She turned down the plea deal.
She will be going to trial before a judge, first, and if she loses (which she assumes she will…Asheville) then she will appeal to a jury trial.

Recess Appointments
During a recess, a President can execute a pocket-veto or make recess appointments. This ability became a bone of contention during the 2007-2008 session. Democrats controlled the Senate and they wanted to prevent President George W. Bush from making recess appointments at the end of his term of office. Their tactic was to have pro forma sessions every three days, so they were never in recess long enough for him to exercise his recess appointment power.

President Barack Obama was prevented from approving recess appointments. The case went to the Supreme Court when President Obama appointed three members of the National Labor Relations Board in January 2012 despite these pro forma sessions held every few days. The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that this was not allowed. They said that the Senate is in session when it says it’s in session. Four of the justices would have restricted recess appointment powers only during the period between the end of a yearly session and the beginning of the next one.

1. What is a “Recess Appointment”?
The President of the United States is empowered to appoint individuals to certain offices in government. The obvious ones are U.S. Supreme Court justices and federal judges. He also appoints the directors of administrations like the Social Security Administration. These appointees must go before U.S. Senators for review and approval before their appointment becomes official. It’s like being interviewed for a job: The President calls them in for the interview, but the Senate conducts the interview and decides whether or not to hire them.
But what happens if the Senate is not in session and an important position needs to be filled? When our Founders wrote the Constitution, they foresaw situations in which government officials might be away from Washington, in recess. In those days, it could have taken weeks to recall Congress to address major developments. To circumvent national emergencies or breakdowns in government, they gave the President the power to make executive decisions in Congress’s absence, like the power to appoint people to government without the Senate’s approval while the Senate is in recess.
2. What is a “Pro Forma Session”?
“Pro forma” is a fancy way of saying “as a formality.” When Congress has little or no immediate business to address, they can opt to hold pro forma sessions in which clerks may read memos or directives to Congress, but no votes or debate take place. The meeting is just a formality.
If you watch a pro forma session on C-Span, you’ll notice that they are poorly attended and don’t last more than a few minutes. So why meet at all?
Under the Constitution, in order for the Senate to go more than three days without convening, they must get the approval of the House of Representatives (likewise, the House has to get the Senate’s permission before it can go into recess). Pro forma sessions allow the Senate or the House to fulfill their obligation to meet, even when there is not any important business to see to.

I keep seeing posts where Treepers share that most of their families are some sort of liberal. Many reveal that they are the only MAGA person amongst their entire clans.
In light of this phenomenon – where many of President Trump’s supporters are single individuals inside much LARGER family units comprised of liberals – is the US still MAJORITY conservative? Or has that battle ALREADY been lost and we’re just the last of the conservatives that the fedgov is now wiping out with its killer vaccine?
Just something that I wonder about every time there’s a string of posts where conservatives reveal they’re the ONLY one inside much larger groups.
I can only speak for myself here. I grew up Dem in deep south Texas democrat enclaves. I was a D until I retired at 55 and moved to a conservative county and had time to ponder OCare. As a result I am surrounded by Ds. My kids are liberal and I hang on just for the sake of my grands. I got off FB so as not to see anymore of the D friends comments, people I grew up with. I am no longer interested in relationships with the few remaining kin who only want more checks, govt handouts, and wonder why there isn’t more. My country is more important. There ARE a few hispanic R friends in my small circle and those are the only ones I communicate with. I simply detest Ds and don’t want to know or be friends with them.
My town voted 75% Trump but because of the flow of people moving here en masse we are sadly, changing. They are coming from all over the U.S. We have always been a bit more D than R (nationally) but the future looks grim when we have a Republican party that only fights for Ds. Our county leadership is GOPe and are clueless so they are essentially worthless. I don’t have a good feeling for our future especially because as we speak future D voters are coming in droves. Coupled with the cheating and we don’t have much to look forward to, huh?

My Oil Country Tubulars supplier has said he is seeing price increases while the tubing/casing is literally running down the road. In other words he does not know what his purchase price is until the truck hits his yard. Unprecedented.

What happened to the ballots that were adjudicated during the counting process?
I believe the ‘rate’ of such adjudicating in Maricopa County was around 16%.
Hence, there are TWO ballots to be looked at in each of those 16% adjudication.
My sense is, if any ballots were destroyed after the announcement of an audit, ‘intelligent’ people would have figured out that they best get rid of the second set of all those adjudicated.
(I believe if the original ballots are not available, the presumption of fraud is implicit.)

I read an article that claimed this exact thing a couple of weeks ago . . .
Except, the article was written in conjunction with the Suez Canal ship block.
And, it claimed that this ‘Climate Emergency’ plan had been known, intercepted, and destroyed.
In other words, their ‘plan’ to use weather as a weapon was discovered; their ‘plan’ included the construction and deployment of sophisticated machinery to a ‘rogue’ state; their ‘plan’ got shipwrecked in that straight due to the operation by the good guys that resulted in that machinery that was in the cargo hold being confiscated.
They are not reporting this precisely to lasso in all those who were set to run with this new emerging threat, by allowing them to attempt their plan without knowing they do not have the means to pull it off.
