Over the past several weeks/months the tech team behind CTH 2.0 has been working on a test site to optimize the battle-tank known as The Last Refuge. This is phase-3 of the CTH anti-fragile system, known as the optimization phase. We just went live….
The goal of optimization was to take the decades-old weight of our site, lighten the server load, increase the response time and simultaneously generate a site that optimizes based on the type of hardware being used by reader: desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. Check out the site on your mobile device and you should notice the changes in both portrait and landscape mode.
When CTH originally launched over a decade ago the theme was responsive to desktop and laptop computer users. Mobile platforms were in their infancy. Now more than half of website users are coming to sites from tablets or phones. The optimization phase has hopefully eliminated the mobile issues and made those user experiences easier and more responsive.
The landing page of CTH has not changed too much. However, as we make slight modifications each of the top links “About Us”, “guidelines” etc will generate a different impression for the user. The right margin is streamlined on the Main landing page, and we will be introducing an alliance of allies to replace the old-school blogroll.
Several website operators have reached out asking us to provide details on the infrastructure being used to stay “anti-fragile”, meaning outside the reach of big tech. There may come a day when that information is possible to share, but it will not be in the near future. CTH is operating with an abundance of caution in the era of deplatforming and targeting.
We are aware the eye of sauron, ie Google, and Big Tech has already targeted CTH 2.0 to eliminate traffic and site visits. However, fortunately for us we have a long history of readership and only around 7 percent of total traffic was dependent on Google as a search value.
In what has been described as an “extraordinary situation” in the modern era, over 85 percent of CTH traffic is direct. Users and readers come directly to CTH from their browser. In the era of deplatforming this was/is a huge benefit.
Beyond all the technology details CTH is first and foremost a community of people. We take our responsibility for stewardship of our community very seriously. Privacy is the foundation of all systems we are using and no site features generates any data collection on any Treehouse guest.
This privacy approach is unique in the modern era of internet technology where data collection and cookies are now accepted practice. However, not only are we proud of the effort we are taking, I can also envision a place in the near future where any site gathering data will regret that flaw in privacy policy. CTH will lead the way on the creation of proprietary systems that protect our community; and we can see several states now considering legislation that will mandate a much more stringent view on privacy.
The optimization phase has now launched, there will be slight modifications in the next few weeks and we welcome your feedback. You won’t really notice too much difference from the front side, but there will be a noted faster response rate. Additionally, some of the bugs we encountered, literally because we had to move so fast to generate CTH 2.0 – and only had two weeks to move 10 years of massive files, have been reconciled.
Again, I thank you for your continued support as we put the final touches on CTH 2.0 as a relaunched site outside the reach of the tech control agents. This entire move has been a painstaking time-suck to do it right. Everyone has reference points for places that did it wrong… we are blessed to have incredible assistance from people with buckets of foresight.
Remember, YOU are what matters. This community is what matters. Retaining our ability to connect in fellowship and discuss the issues in a respectful and honest manner is our priority. We are in the majority. They control the majority of systems that allow us to see the scale of our assembly. Tech’s control effort to remove voices is directly related to their need to retain the false impressions put forth by ideological comrades.
The truth has no agenda, and people are beginning to see now just how far ahead CTH was within our explanations of the people and institutional motives in the world of politics. Unfortunately, we have been very accurate with our predictions of “who”, “why”, “when and how”, the people and systems would activate against our constitutional republic. However, in the end they will fail and we, a freedom loving people, will succeed.
Don’t forget to live your best life. Nothing aggravates the totalitarian-left more than seeing joy amid the majority of people within a nation they are trying to destroy. Engage your family, friends and community with optimism. Keep throwing sand in their machinery whenever possible – and prepare; because the best is yet to come.
We are the new counter-culture, and -despite all the challenges WE FACE, never doubt that liberty is on the march…
Love to all,
Sundance
Looking good here! Cheers!
Good news, congratulations, and continued increasing readership.
I love the stencil font on the banner. The effect would be complete if it were in white to yellow, on an olive drab background, like an ammo can – which then should read:
MISFITS, CONSERVATIVE, RAG TAG
BUNCH OF!
Viewing format seems optimal on iPhone-compared to kindle or desktop.
But all are excellent. Thanks
I am on a laptop and I am VERY happy with this change. I was struggling to read the comments, but this font, size, and color work very well for me.
I just love straight and truthful reporting.
SD and this site are one of the few I find on the Internet.
Thank you for taking precautions to continue despite corporate censuring.
The truth is easier to follow than propaganda and we badly need a functioning POTUS
I navigated over to CTH today to find this wonderful fast, light, snappy site. Congratulations!
This new format is really difficult to read. As to many on this site, utilizing a laptop or any other smaller screen really handicaps the reader. In order to read all the script, one has to constantly move the screen view. Please follow the comments carefully about this and hopefully make an adjustment.
Doc, this is not happening to me and I am on a laptop as well. Unfortunately I am not tech savvy so I do not know a fix for your dilemma.
You probably already know this but in case you don’t: Press the control key and while holding it down, press the minus key. It will make the whole page smaller.
Dixie, thanks for that reminder. I was wondering what was so different that I kept having to scroll down.
I wonder if I will still have to hit 3 carriage returns to get a gap between thoughts.
Congrats on the new, lean and clean site! Looking good! I would be interested in having a “dark mode” option, if you are looking for some input… 😉
Not much change for me, as I’m always on my late-2015 iMac (or 2015 MacBook Air if traveling). Site is clearly laid out, and very responsive (maybe more now?).
If I may ask again: Can we get the list of Comments pages on the top as well as the bottom of the Comments (as it used to be in the version 1 days)?
Hate having to scroll down to the bottom of the latest page to see “« Previous 1 … 3 4 5″
Some of us like to start reading comments on Page 1!
Yes. Agree with this.
Awesome! I love the new look. Great job, CTH team! You guys (and gals) ROCK!
I depend on you for your insight, explanations, and attention to details. I love you, too.
The site looked incredible when it popped up this morning. Great work – as always.
ruh roh!
the flagging issue is back on my ipad.
now ANYWHERE i touch in the comments puts flags up.
i’m sure it’s being addressed, but in the meantime, my apologies to anyone i unknowingly flagged, especially while trying to “like”!?
Same here.
Awesome job CTH dev team!
The site looks amazing. Thank you very much to the entire team and you, Sundance!
LOOKS fantastic! Thanks Sundance and extraordinary TEAM and TREEPERS!
May CTH, SD and Team live long and prosper. You are of great value,
so important, more important daily.
Site looks and feels excellent! Kudos on a job well done. Now just get rid of the gravatar service, a known security risk….
Conservative Treehouse remodel! Nice job Sundance and crew. I feel pretty secure here and love the upgrades.
Hmm I dont rember changing my font settings but suddenly I can easily read CTH…oh wait Sundance is at it again.. Super experience on cell phone.
Wow. I love it! I have just glanced at it but it already feels fantastic. I view CTH on a laptop, a tablet, and my cell phone. This feels wonderful already. Thank you, very much. We need to celebrate all of the victories in life that we can!
Looking great–very large font when I first land here, but I know how to fix that one myself! One request: Make the page number for the comment page you’re currently visiting stand out a little more. In Win10, Brave browser, there’s only a slight difference between the font size for the page I’m on vs. the other pages.
But that’s just an itty-bitty, nit-picky suggestion. Really, it looks superb!
Well done!
Oh no, everything is resized for mobile on desktop. I now have to zoom out of the whole website. everything is too big just like when ZH ruined their site.
I had the same problem but I only had to zoom out the one time. I came back this morning and it’s still zoomed out where I can read it. And nothing else zoomed out but The Treehouse so no problems here. FWIW, I’m using Brave browser on my desktop.
Amazing work Sundance. Really like.
Win 10 laptop with Slimjet browser
“We Get Questions” hasn’t worked for me since exiting WordPress. Is it just me, or is it on your redo list?
Line wrap on Presidential Thread is not working for me, although I think it may have worked when I first refreshed the site.
Thank you for all that you do. God bless you and yours.
About all, I can do to support the movement is to follow Sundance’s advice of living my best life, and these days it isn’t easy. I have tuned out of most news and will unfailingly support Trump.
The best way I know to remain positive and live my best life is through gratitude. No matter how bad the news is about the world of hurt we are in is to immediately think of all I have to be grateful for and no matter if it is a little or a lot, we all have many things.
Simple things that bring pleasure, I’m going for a walk in the bright sunshine, grateful for the sun and my ability to get out and enjoy it. Then I’m going to work in my ice storm ravaged yard. I’m grateful I’m able to do this.
I’m very grateful to Sundance for my morning dose of reality and the positive feedback on this site. I’m happy because I choose to be and this site is a force enhancer.
No blogroll anymore?
You folks have done an incredible job against the censorship, cancel culture and bias of the leftwing criminal organizations. You are to be COMMENDED! Putting integrity back into elections, stopping the censorship and bias and stopping the cultural ROT of the left are the critical issues of our day. There is no doubt it is a cultural war and just about everything else is secondary.
Ok, I see, the blogroll will be replaced by allies introduced in due time. I should have read the article above, my mistake.
Thanks for the hard work from you and your team, Sundance. I don’t comment often, but visit daily
I love the optimized CTH! Also, I must have overlooked this before (shame on me!), but I also notice that under the “Share” area just above the comment box with icon links, the “More” icon contains just about any other social media site one would want including Gab and Telegram.
Love the layout and larger font, ta for that.
Looking good.
Y’all make this stuff look easy.
It’s not.
Thank you.
Never relent, never back down.
Looks great on mobile!
Thank you!!! I can now read clearly on my cell! Using my laptop is also easy. With several eye surgeries over the past year I have struggled with viewing CTH on my cell but the new format is fabulous! Sundance, you and your team of Patriots have always done a wonderful job and you have taken the challenges of our certain times and faced them head on with success. God be with you!
Very nice! Thanks for all of the hard work.
Always thankful to SD and all tech angels for all improvements and keeping our privacy.
I am having a bit of trouble on windows 10, desktop, brave duckduckgo. The sight is nice and large letters are great, BUT the presentation gets either way to large encompassing the entire screen from side to side. The fonts are either too large or diminutive to the point of barely able to see them ( like now, very small).
Still I thank you because I know these things will eventually get resolved.
Most excellent! Keep up the good work, Sundance!
CTH site works fine with Brave browser.
So easy to read on all devices. Thank you!
Looking good on Linux(vivaldi, FF, Tor, Palemoon).
Clean, fast, responsive. Easier to read.
Great font for the masthead.
Article/post entries look sharp.
“over 85 percent of CTH traffic is direct”…impressive.
If more people did this, Big Tech spying, tracking, gang-stalking, brand building, cult recruiting, social engineering, political espionage, and doxxing platforms like fakebook…wouldn’t go away…it would just reduce their user base to dopamine addicts stuck in perpetual feedback loops, victim culture milieus, and limited hangouts.
Misery loves company and big tech loves misery. Look at their employees, they can barely function without a group therapy session. /rant /s
In any case, great update on a mostly seamless transition as you continue to optimize and fine tune.
Congratulations to your team of techs and everyone that made it possible!
I read Treehouse on a 22″ and 42″ monitor and rarely a personal transponder.
I find the new font harsh on my eyes.
I’ll likely get acclimated in time but I guess it is just one more reminder I’m a dinosaur….
Congratulations Sundance & Team. Great new look. This is a nice surprise
Looking good! Great job, guys! ?
Congrats, congrats!
The site looks great on my phone. Much easier to read. Congratulations!
❤️ it on my iPhone. iPad layout not all that different.
Looks fantastic. As a tech monger, I’m Jelly.
Works great on my Android phone! My old eyes are so happy! Thank you, thank you.
Thank you Sundance and all the folks who made this happen. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have CTH. I’ve been following for years. Such grounded, adult articles and conversation.
Thank you, Sundance, for providing such a professional, safe site for us to gain knowledge and share insights. This is the first landing spot for me each day and I love it!
