Every negative sentiment about leftist teachers is confirmed in a viral video where Oakley Elementary School District (CA) school board members are caught on video openly mocking parents who want in-classroom teaching to resume.
The school board did not know they were on video-conference that was open to the public. Their comments and vulgarity were visible for the entire world to see.
First, here is the video. The last few seconds are revealing as the members realize their broadcast was open to the public: “rut oh, we have the meeting open to the public right now.” WATCH:

CALIFORNIA – The president and three other members of a Northern California school board resigned Friday after reports that they made mocking comments about parents during a public video meeting about reopening schools.
The resignation of President Lisa Brizendine of the Oakley Union Elementary School District was confirmed to Fox News by Schools Superintendent Greg Hetrick.
The other members — Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito and Richie Masadas — who constitute the rest of the board, resigned later Friday, FOX 2 of the Bay Area reported. (read more)

Columnist Kurt Schlicter refers to us as “the normals”
Leftists mock and castigate and sabotage normal American citizens at every opportunity
And fawn relentlessly over fringe elements of society that they favor … the male “trans” athletes kicking girls’ a$$es in women’s sports … the bone-thru-the-nose Anteefers … you get the picture
I chalk it up to Daddy Complex and never maturing past adolescent rebellion
… or something

I’ll take “or something” for $100, Alex – because those so-called “fringe elements” now actually represent and defend “the establishment” of big government totalitarian citizen control. They only fool themselves that it’s about the “fringe”.
may be, is
but what I’m talking about is the Left up-ending American society to favor small fringes, like transexuals who are about a half a percent of the population
So, when do parents start wearing kick me signs?? This is an ELECTED BODY whom somebody had to vote into office.
Too bad there is not a real GOP in California or at US level. This video needs to be replayed as part of a nationwide campaign to start retaking America 1 school board election at a time.
I agree. Who the hell voted these DREGS of Society in?
Nobody runs for school board unless they’re a busybody big-fish-in-a-small-pond type.
That’s a big no.
Okay then, an amendment: I have yet to hear or see of anyone running for school board unless they were a busybody on a power trip.
Oh, there are some of those, along with MANY retired teachers that want to keep the union status quo. There are also some that care about changing a messed up education system, but are too few in number to help facilitate that.
Perhaps you should run for the local school board and help out.
Not interested. I homeschool and am against public school in any iteration… not a perfect position for a school board member. If ever I feel like putting my family through the ringer of public office, I’ll probably eye off the state level or something.
So did I homeschool. Never regretted it.

Ditto.
Maybe it was a lottery, like for jury duty.
Antifa maybe?
The bill to FUND STUDENTS instead of systems will now move to the West Virginia Senate.
Feb 18: West Virginia full House just passed a bill to FUND STUDENTS instead of systems.
Families would be able to take their children’s education dollars to the education provider of their choosing:
• Private school
• Tutoring
• Testing / Instructional materials
• Special needs therapies
• Any other approved education expenses
Over 90% of students in the state would be eligible for the program in the first year

Can only hope this sweeps the country as it once did in New Zealand.
NZ’s education is crap except for private schools who do the IB or Cambridge
They introduced the NCEA which meant you got different credit levels 3. 4. 5
You could get credits for stupid things such as dance etc etc
The old Bursary exams were rigorous.
They introduced this so even the dumbest lazy drongos could get “credits”
I moved lock stock and barrel to Australia at the start of the year when they did that
This is BIG.
That’s how quite a few European countries do it.
This is where it all begins– locally. Folks, we all need to take responsibility for this. We voted these types of people in, without doing the deep homework that is necessary to produce civil servants that will actually do what they are elected to do. Lesson learned, now get out there, do the homework and do not just buy the surficial stuff that they are selling. Ask the big question: What is the biggest / greatest thing that this person has accomplished (good or bad). That will tell you a lot. They are either “doers” or just “office holders”. Lean toward the people that have a track record of getting things done.
Time to throw all the commie dictators out.

Is “initial moderation” something like foreplay? It does sound erotic.

ROFL!!!!! I gotta post this in our back room.
I put a smiley face here but haven’t quite figured out how to do it.
As long as it’s consensual it’s all good.
Just moved from that area in June. It’s shltlib land and a total jungle. Kids have NO CHANCE. In fact, I lived across the street from an elementary school. Wouldn’t believe the things I witnessed. NOT America.
One of the things that saddened me were the groups of kids, in FULL BURKAS, that walked by my house daily. Again, NOT AMERICA. Previously, that neighborhood was a classic American neighborhood. Built by God loving, middle class Americans. Then section 8 housing took over.
Who wishes a life of subjugation on their child?
Joe – What are the odds of the school board resigning to “teach those parents a lesson?”
Can hear it now – “We’ll show them a thing or two…see how they do without us.”
If that is the case, then maybe keeping the schools closed is better (due to untended consequence).
It wasn’t so bad until massa Jimmy created the “Department of Reeducation” in 1979.
Yes, I was hoping that president Trump would have scrapped that evil agency.
Probably would have in his second term, which is yet another reason they couldn’t let him win!!
Worst Prez ever until O now B.

Demonrats mocking demonrats who voted in demonrats.
When these Demo-commie-fascist Srikas put out a weak “apology” they always, always say…..”This is not who we really are or represent”…
Yes it is who they really are! Or else they would not be saying these things! They just happened to be caught showing their true selves.
Hmmm. Looks like the perfect opportunity for motivated conservatives to step in. If we haven’t learned by now, there is absolutely no level where public policy is formed and implemented that doesn’t matter.
True … even if you have no school-age kids yourself. Do it for your neighbors with young families, your grands, your nation. Show up at school board meetings. Enquire which textbooks are being used for “social studies” or whatever it’s called these days. If the name Howard Zinn comes up, politely raise hell. Find out if American history is taught at all and, if it is, from what “cultural perspective”. The US is in today’s situation largely because parents busy chasing material comforts ignored the progressive infiltration of our public schools which began in the 1960s. If these leftists are not drummed out of the school system, off our tax-funded payrolls, and into jobs in trash collection or similar suitable field, we will never regain our nation’s purpose nor its God-given freedoms.
“which texts are being used for ‘social studies’ …”
Flynn’s daughter’s world history class was missing something important to the course – world history itself.
Instead of studying ancient civilizations, the instruction was based “on issues of race, gender, stereotypes, discrimination, and politics, among other left-wing social issues.

Their Rep is Eric Swalwell who got 67.5% of the vote.
It’s sad. The news, the “elected” officials don’t represent what I’d say 80 to 85% of the population wants, but rather they only represent the needs and desires of their own agenda.
They buy into the agenda and run to get elected to implement it. They are only successful because the “reporters” have bought into the same agenda and provide them the “facts” and unimpeded path. The only ones that have to fight tooth and nail to get their truth out are people with traditional ideals and values.
Defunding public schools is probably one of the most important things we can do long term for this country. I went to a public school and there was zero political indoctrination at that time. Over 40 years ago. A lot of teachers on one side of my family, and to be brutally honest, they are dim bulbs. Make it all private.
The last 15 seconds of the video is classic.
A lot of teachers on one side of my family, and to be brutally honest, they are dim bulbs.
It’s been my misfortune to have to deal with several teachers/retired teachers in my life, and the vast majority of them were busybody know-it-alls with an attitude problem – even the theoretically Republican ones.
Sadly, I have observed the same thing – there are definitely some exceptions, but for the most part, the teachers that I know (including my own son, unfortunately) are not necessarily unintelligent but rather are intellectually lazy. They are happier repeating what they have been taught, no matter how illogical, rather than questioning the people who are teaching it to them! This applies in ALL areas of their lives and is often accompanied by an air of moral superiority and a nasty tendency to belittle anyone who doesn’t ascribe to their particular brand of “group-think”.
Unfortunately, as my son would be the first to point out, this is also a tendency in far too many churches today as well. People seem far too content to sit in the pew and listen to a pastor ride his particular hobby horse, accompanied by a handful of cherry picked verses so as to add validity to his sermon. They never bother to search the Scriptures to find out if the position preached was, in fact, in line with what God actually said in His word!
We have lost the desire, or the determination, to research and to confirm FACTS so instead, we are being far too easily persuaded to follow all kinds of idiotic, and even dangerous, trends, simply because someone in a position of authority, whether pastor, professor, or politician has told us that THIS is the way forward and ALL the smartest people already believe it!
One of my best friends for a time, before I lost her to depression, was a high school teacher. She hated the system and refused to join the union, despite overwhelming pressure. It was slowly destroying her. She refused to leave because, as she said, she was the only one to care about the kids, not excepting their own parents…
I cannot attend the churches in my area. They either talk the talk well but are unbearably sanctimonious and cliquey in their walk, or they actually act like Christians but the taught doctrine is… unsound. That lack of teaching and fellowship in my life is one reason I so enjoy Menagerie’s religious posts.
But I’m not really popular anywhere, because I question everything and tend to take stances considered controversial… sometimes even here…
I am so sorry about your friend…she sounds like one of the good ones who went into teaching for all of the right reasons!! Wish she could have realized the positive impact that she probably had on many of those kids!!!
I am now in a good church, that sticks to Scripture and doesn’t shy away from hard conversations, BUT, it has taken many years of searching to find it. I also do a LOT of my own studying and am not afraid to challenge the teaching if I think the pastor strayed from the intent of the passage.
I was a journalism major back in college and then homeschooled my kids so I have spent my life questioning, reading, and researching. I have made some really good friends along the way, who know they can come to me for the straight, unvarnished truth on various subjects, and that if don’t have it, I will do my best to find it! However, I have also made a LOT of enemies because I tend to push back and force people to defend their positions, which, unfortunately, is why my son and I are no longer on the same page in many areas. He is allowing himself to be guided by “feelings” and notions of “fairness” because that is what is being pushed in his job as a teacher. He gets his news from MSM, hates Donald Trump, and thinks that Christians are too judgemental…so, we talk about the weather and our cats, which really sucks, because he is a smart kid with a stubborn streak, and all I can do at this point is wait and pray!
The school situation out here is ridiculous. Private school kids have been in classrooms since August but nearly all public school districts remain out. High school sports just given the go ahead to restart in a few counties, but not the major populated ones. Teachers union is a joke. Newscum is feeling the heat from the recall effort (now has 1.7 million sigs) so maybe things open back up soon.
Funny as we left CA because of the schools in the nineties looks like it was a good choice.
It really all depends on the district. Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Danville and San Ramon all have excellent public schools and all are back to in person classrooms. The first four are affluent and Republican. Basically the rest of the county is still out and being held hostage by either the teachers union or the local school district. Concord, the largest city in the county with the most schools, is being held hostage by the MUSD and has been all year once the CoronaCold farce started.
Agree as we moved to NC and the Charlotte area but the schools were bad so moved to Mooresville area that had good schools.
You obviously don’t live in Lafayette,Moraga or Orinda. I do, it is VERY Liberal and city councils are ruled by radical “Karens”. Schools could have opened safely 6 months ago but the teachers unions kept putting up roadblocks. The schools aren’t really back full time they just opened to a lame “hybrid” model of some days in person and others virtual. Working parents are at the end of the rope. Funny, my niece in Florida is a teacher and they went back to teaching in August! No teachers union in her area. Sure do admire Florida these days.
My mistake.
But yeah Florida looks pretty good right now. So does Tennessee.
A school is only as good as the students that go there. You don’t really think that freshmen and sophomore students at Cal Berkeley or Harvard get great teachers, do you?
Grad assistants teach the lower division courses at Cal. I suspect the same is true at Harvard.
They both get top students.
It’s all about IQ and IQ is all about genetics and genetics of children is all about mom and dad. It’s nature over nurture, which is what Bill Gates found out when he poured millions into the DC public schools on the “promise” from some lib sociologists and educators that lowering the class size significantly would measurably increase achievement/performance.
Didn’t happen.
The same has occurred for decades with the trillion American taxpayers have paid for Project Headstart.
Libs don’t like to talk about the results, which have been studied for decades: after initial gains, the children return to the mean.
.
TL, you’re not supposed to say stuff like this out loud.
By the way research also has found that parents and teachers are more motivated and better when they have children who have more innate talent, smarts or drive. It’s not a one-way street.)
nearly all public school districts remain out
What would one expect if you’re going to pay public school teachers to sit on their a$$es at home … still drawing a paycheck?
I would not send my kid to those schools.
Yep, “baby sitting”.
And if that’s what it is (largely), then provide it for Gods sake.
People need to go to work, make money, etc.
Without going into the politics of public schools, the service is funded through the public’s money.
And that service allows millions of parents to GO TO WORK.
If the service isn’t provided, why should I (or anyone) sign up for it?
Much less pay taxes for it.
In the real world, middle class parents “sign up for baby sitting” when they make the decision to have children who will enter public schools.
Teachers, boards, and admins need to be pushing for FULL reopening of schools.
Instead of playing games and trashing an already trash system.
If schools can’t open, the public should not be paying for this crap.
end rant
So in other words Ackman, these people just admitted that the school does act as baby sitters for the kids.
Yep
Is there a law that babysitters can’t also teach and interact meaningfully with kids? Lazy POS
There isn’t a law.
And I agree, listing.
Actual education and building relationships with kids is primary.
Whether you are a baby sitter, teacher, coach, mentor, etc…..that’s baked into what attracts a person to education, supervision or guidance professions.
But primarily, imo, PS should be utilized by middle(working) class Americans as daycare.
If you get caught up in the indoctrination so much that you can’t stand it, or deal with it, than please enroll your children in private school.
Personally, my wife and I enjoy the kids being in school. We like our school, district and board. It’s one of the main reasons we left CA 4 years ago. I couldn’t stand to see my kids enrolled in the same schools I was working at.
And I no longer teach.
Im a farmer, and my kids are learning to farm.
It’s our family business. And we intend to keep it that way for at least another 20 years.
My wife and I spend many hours per week, with both kids, supplementing and working around what the PS offers.
Really, I think people need to have realistic expectations of PS.
Baby sitting is one of them,
God bless and guide tou
No teach in school … no pay!

My kids were at the beginning of 1st, 2nd, 3rd grades when I yanked them out of (Florida) public school and we did homeschooling. There were so many reasons, but perhaps first and foremost were the hours upon wasted hours that the kids were languishing while the teachers did administrivia, handed out “worksheets”, gave them idiotic busywork, and continually sent home “notes” with “assignments” and “homework” for the parents.
The teachers with rare exception are low-IQ, bottom of the barrel in college or else less than serious students themselves — why they majored in teaching — where they learn pablum, and how to speak in acronyms.
Gone are the days pre-feminism when being a teacher was something that a smart woman chose to do instead of nursing or secretarial work because it might be compatible with marriage and family. Gone are the days when a public school would be allowed to hire say an out-of-work engineer or a returning GI without a “teaching certification”. Gone are the days pre-“mainstreaming” and post-“tracking” where a teacher can teach to the entire class at the same time.
The public school systems are a mess.
The problem we have against the Unions for teachers is,in part, the ‘we are baby-sitters’ argument they always pitch. For 50 years they have always cried ‘pay us what you pay your baby-sitter, per kid, per hour. Then we’ll gladly be your “babysitters” for 8 hours per day. This is part of the Public School Teacher’s Union argument that has perpetuated the stand-off since the 70’s. Private schools or home schooling can do away with much of this heat. Public schools have become liberal echo chambers for progressive whiners.
Teachers make way more than babysitters.
And honestly, I’ve never heard the argument you make stated by teachers.
As a former educator, I would be highly insulted if someone broke my career down into those terms.
They make admit it after they retire or resign, but never when working as a teacher.
Its a a”calling”, don’t change know?
Sounds like the schoolboard just broke down your job description to babysitter.
.
At least babysitters can be fired.
As a homeschooling parent, I deeply resent any of my taxes going towards those public indoctrination centers.
Lobotomy factories . A mind is a terrible thing to waste
One of the best changes ever in WI was when the law was changed allowing tax dollars to follow the students with open enrollment. It allowed parents to enroll their kids in other districts with an amount of state money per student following them.
It’s been years, and I don’t know what it is like now since the unions re-gained power by installing Evers, and I don’t recall if my wife and I saw reduced taxes when we pulled our kids out and homeschooled them, but it was worth it for them to get a better education than the public schools would provide.
I do know districts did not care whether you had your student in their district or if you homeschooled them until that law was passed.
Although I no longer have kids in public school, I would like to see homeschooling parents get a full tax elimination of whatever is typically sent to schools.
Wisconsin still has open enrollment and “vouchers” for private schools. However, the school districts get to decide to allow open enrollment or not. So you get smaller districts that need the money allowing it, while some of the growing communities who really don’t have room for outside students staying “closed.”
In theory it should lead to improvement in schools as they compete. In reality, the administrators don’t know how to run schools or deal with behavioral issues, and so the bad school get worse and worse as all the good kids leave, many of them using state vouchers to pay for private school tuition.
I’m a former teacher. I’ve worked as a substitute teacher in public and private schools, and full time in private schools. I have also homeschooled our children. Our kids now attend private school. My kids have NEVER attended public school.
Both my grandmother and my aunt were president of the teachers union in their day. They would both be shocked at the current state of public education. It’s cultural Marxism, plain and simple.
If all they did was babysit the kids, then the kids would probably be getting a better education than they’re getting now. Better no teaching take place than indoctrination.
Sort of like having a divided Congress, better no/little harm than bad legislation. We’d be much better off had one of the GOP candidates for Senate won in Georgia. At least little Chuckie wouldn’t be in charge.
Yep. I’d sooner leave my kids with a little old lady or homeschooled teenager all day then a public school teacher.
I won’t go so far as to say that these people are sociopaths – but there does seem to be a trend when it comes to people who get into these types of positions of authority.
I am sure the propensity ranges from the mild to the extremes – and this particular example of asshattery may be relatively mild.
Sociopaths tend to rise to the top of every power structure – that’s why the exceptions to this rule are so obvious when it happens.
Consider who DeSantis in Florida was up against…etc.
Eons ago, I got elected via an underground write in campaign to our Homeowner’s Board of Directors.
I didn’t really want to be there, but things were so bad that I was “recruited” to bring in some normalcy, decency and transparency.
Those were the worst two years of my life… We had five members: two of us were fine, the other three were power hungry monsters.
20 years later that Board doesn’t even know how many roofs I approved sub rosa. 😉
The good thing is that after two years, the very long term President resigned and one of the other monsters did not run for relection. We still have one of the Miss Manners Karen in there, but she’s pretty much inoffensive. The other four seem to be fine and rotate nicely.
.
Petty tyrants in little fiefdoms that allow them to make “rules”. An age-old problem.
Not good enough, should be put in the stocks out in front of the school and take their medicine.
Time to take back America. These buffoons need to be shunned. Thing is, this crap exists in way too many places. Lots of folks in lots of counties need to step up and challenge ALL of the school boards.
How did those ignorant SOB/Witches ever get elected or appointed? No wonder our schools are useless for educating. The whole public school system needs to be abolished. Everywhere. Anything run by the gubmint sucks and is useless.
They get elected because a) turnout for school boards is notoriously low almost everywhere and b) those running for school boards are generally the “progressive” noise makers who know absolutely nothing about child development but think they know everything about education. I’ve lived in a dozen different states and, unfortunately, this type of school board is quite common. Until MAGA people start getting involved in large numbers I’m afraid nothing will change.
Ooops! ‘Turnout for school board elections’. Fingers got ahead of brain.
In case anyone is wondering, Oakley (not to be confused with Oakland) is on the very eastern fringe of the Bay Area, fifty miles from downtown SF and not much farther from Sacramento. It’s semi-rural and less lefty than the central Bay Area, but as people have been pushed out that way due to the high cost of living more centrally, that could well be changing.
Oakley is a small town you drive through on the way up into the hills, and eventually the Sierras.
It has (or had) one of the highest church:population ratios in CA.
Yes, you would think it’s conservative, considering it’s size and location.
These board members may seem out of touch, but there is a huge blending of liberalism into the hinterlands these days.
I bet all of them have had kids go through the PS system, yet they mock their own class.
Thats CA and liberalism for ya.
It’s not quite the Central Valley, which is over another set of hills to the east, but it’s very similar. Agricultural until it turned into a Bay Area exurb, and hotter than hades in the summer.
My bad. You’re right.
was thing of oakdale, which is on the way to hills
oakley is definitely Bay Area
Pittsburg, Oakley and Antioch are all basically sh**holes. I know, I live in Contra Costa County. The south and southeast parts of the county are very nice and affluent (Orinda, Morage, Lafayette, W Creek, Alamo, Danville) while the edges on either side, not so much (Richmond, El Sob, San Pablo, Pittsburg, Antioch and Oakley).
But, are all of those cities run by Democrats?
Everytime I’ve driven through SF, the East Bay and Saint Josey I feel really bad vibes from the other drivers… it’s like they’re all very stressed out and more aggressive than South Central LA after a big city wide sale on T-Bird wine.
I do admit I’ve never been in that area between the 5 and the 680,
This is what passes for “teachers” these days? Pathetic. I’d rather have Bozo the Clown teaching my kids. Teachers used to be professional, dignified and teach “real” subject matter. Not any more.
They aren’t teachers.
They are board members.
to be fair there is some truth to the mocking. Parents do want their kids baby sat…if they wanted them educated they would run very far from public education!
Yeah, but the disincentive is that they then pay 2-1/2 to 3 times the cost for their child’s education
Once in property taxes that fund the public schools
One-and–1/2 for public schools that are more expensive. Maybe even twice the cost
I’ve seen that the “cost per student” is less in private education. That if the tax dollars followed the students to private education, they would get a much better education for less money.
thx for that, Bigsky … that clarifies the situation greatly
I just talk off the top of my head, always appreciate a knowing insight
Remember the resident of the NEA or the AFT (I forget which) announcing a few years back that these unions represent the interests of teachers, and are not at all concerned about those of their students. Literally. And also remember this quote from Doctor Jill Xiden: https://thespectator.info/2020/11/20/with-aft-and-neas-help-we-won-this-election/
Watch and see in CULTural Marxist Democrat la la utopia land. The “new bosses” will be the same as the “old bosses”. The teachers union will be control of the new Democrat board as usual.
Public education….uh…er. indoctrination is not about the best interest of the students or the country anymore, but rather about the money and power of the so called elites unless parents become involved, attend meetings and hold their feet to the fire.
They sure do look like a bunch of winners.
More than one needs to take the feedbag off.
…did an active dissident ( blog poster )just share some truth, ; )
and shine some needed light of truth upon some suppressors ; )
of the people that are wanting their children to get the schooling
(that is already paid for with taxes upon the public) ? : )
The socratic method, suggests asking a question. To help the thinking…
question asked.
You can answer, or not.
Sounds like the ‘school board’ had an answer. … rut roh…
p.s.
Someone(s), themselves, are making Project Veritas mission, just a bit more popular, frequent.
(hint, he just asks questions too. …and shares what they say … ) : )
Love thy neighbors
Were these people even teachers? Usually the school board is not teachers but elected parents who live in the district. Does anybody know the answer to that question.
In my school district the school board is usually not a full-on patsy for the teachers union. They’re usually pretty soft but they’re not the teachers themselves.
The board president, Lisa Brizendine is reported as a technology educator.
https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2021/02/19/east-bay-school-board-president-steps-down-following-babysitter-comments/
Kim Beede who said she would eF up someone who called her out has been volunteering in schools in the district for some time. Like given her husband is a teacher in the district.

Not sure what Erica Ippolito did for work, but her husband owns and operates a renovation company.
Richie Masadas has been employed by the district as a “paraprofessional” working with disabled students before being appointed to the board after an interview by the other board members.

To be fair… most parents do just want their babysitters back.
I find that parents who pay outright for their education are committed to their children receiving a quality education and have a vested interest and are more involved with their children and teachers.
Always exceptions,of course.
That is why I have been advocating for homeschooling, parochial, private…anything but Public Schools for years!
That’s a fact.
What have Unions done for America? I do not quite understand the positives/negatives and the corruption that roils within.
Either way, I think parents have relied on public schools to babysit socialize and educate their children, but they are really showing an unsavory price to pay.
Virginia is a right to work state. I wonder if that will be changed, it appears that central government is ready to over rule states.
Sorry I have not been reading commenting much. I have been muttering, and trying to have courage after being robbed.
And then Rush. I will miss him. I know these past few months have been very hard. Cancer is evil.
I know in my heart he was ready to go and present his gratitude to God.
Every negative sentiment about leftist teachers is confirmed in a viral video where Oakley Elementary School District (CA) school board members are caught on video openly mocking parents who want in-classroom teaching to resume.
How many members of the school board are teachers?
See my comment above.
.
Looks like most of them are teachers of the less than RRR variety or related in some way to teachers or people who have contracts with the school system.
I have a family member in that school district. She’s home schooling and wishing she could put her children in the public school, but after this video came out, that sealed the deal for her. Even if the schools opened, there’s no way she’s putting her children in the local public school in CA. In fact, they are looking at getting out of CA altogether like tens of thousands of other people are.
More of this needs to happen.
Likewise, I have a family member who lives in that district. Luckily she no longer has kids in school, but she still does have to pay taxes for them. She too wants to get out.
This is what they really think of us.
So they admit , they don’t teach squat. Just overpaid babysitters.
Priceless.
Sandwiched between San Fran and Stockton…..I am not surprised at all. Marxism should be classified as a mental disease.
Liberalism is a mental disorder. QED.
They need to #LearnToCode.
And #SpeakInCode!
I read article that Wake Forest NC
homeschooling is up 116%. Public schools now going to be opening up.
Parents keeping children in homeschooling and private schools. Not sending children back to Public school.
Article also touched briefly on subject less children being born, etc., 2030 will have significant less school age children.
Me, I made my mind up when I was 17years old and junior in High School…I would NEVER send my children to Public school.
A quality education is one of the Best things you can do for your children, second only to a Christian upbringing and taking your children to church.
The people in this conference call should feel ashamed, and they probably are not. SAD
I sent my son to a private school K-12 and it was the best decision I ever made.
It was a financial hardship, but money well spent.
Amen, Auwtsnae! We sent our daughter to private K-1, then tried public school for a few years and were so disgusted we yanked her out and she finished 5-12 in private. Never, ever regretted the money we spent.
nope they can’t really get fired bc of unions right?
That said, here in Loudoun County Virginia the schools have been closed since last March 2020. my neighborhood has a lot of kiddos, they loved going to school
The catholic school is open and has been since August 2020. There are also several private schools that are open fully. The buses come on our street to pick up the few kids. Those are expensive schools and if the parents aren’t well off to begin with, well, kind of gain a little with a better school and savings on stupid clothing for public schools. Also working from home or a job, you save on gas.
My oldest daughter has a kindergartener. She is a brilliant kid. (I won’t brag, but jeez, don’t tempt me haha) I hate to see her going to Leesburg Elementary. My daughter was also brilliant and my thought back in 1989 was that she needed school because it would “humble her” … no really. She was never challenged in school – or every challenge was cake to her. Public school is horrible. every year, well you know if you have kids, most are average, and they teach and re teach and the next year they spend the first three months teaching last years stuff. It was just awful.
Unions were not so powerful yet. Obama got them excited and motivated. The Unions are the ones that got out and WORKED hard filling out ballots for Obiden
Most people in Loudoun County could easily afford private school. It’s one of the richest counties in the country. Loudoun County kids are living 800K+ houses. K-8 Catholic school is not super expensive.
Plus some were rioting in the streets with BLM and Antifa.
I posted this earlier, but I hope parents will consider homeschooling options to remove kids from abusive public schools. This is more than just a tremendous financial loss, it is a breathtaking tragedy:
that is Trader Joe’s later in the video. Yeah, ours was pretty strict but here in No Virginia we are obedient
We do not want drama and won’t make drama
Since the schools are run by leftists and administered by leftists, since they’ve proven to be principally there to indoctrinate children to leftist ideology, why does any parent want their children there? I have text books from the turn of the last century that illustrate that the level of education, the expectations for both behavior and learning was so much higher then. The public schools are a joke and a waste of money.
completely agree.
Excellent. save those books since these ignorant fascist will burn any copy they can find.
and by their acts you shall know them…..
I wonder why Greg Hetrick is getting off without resigning. There are two versions of this video, and the longer version shows him (he is the superintendent) participating in this call, and was suggesting how they can reduce public comment on issues by limiting people to a 3 minute voice mail message.
I see the video linked above is the shorter version, and it does show Hetrick participating at the 1:47 mark. The longer version has him discussing how they are going to limit public comment on issues by only allowing 3 minute voice mail messages.
The parents that care need to literally force him to resign.
I think if more parents saw the full video, they would be asking the same questions. The shorter video linked above shows the members, but the longer video showed Hetrick discussing limiting public comment (participation) in whatever issue they were discussing.
I also wonder what Hetrick was talking about when he said they had their three candidates ready to go. It stinks of another sham process where the board lines up some process where their hacks get installed.
The longer video can be viewed here:
So when can the residents expect a rebate on their school tax bill?
John O’Sullivan, former editor at National Review, said any institution not explicitly conservative will become liberal.
Leftist stooges for the teacher’s union took over this school board.
Get involved. Ally with friends and neighbors and get involved.
Obama’s community organizers, infiltrating stronger by the day since 2007
If and when it matters the CIA will subvert school board elections too. We still have to have an actual fight before anything is resolved…
At this point, a Public school teacher is a Marxist school teacher. Find me one who isn’t. If they aren’t, they’ve retired by now. It is completely overrun with Marxists. The same with Public Universities.
Teachers need an ultimatum:
…….. come to class and teach or don’t get paid.
Would you want those people teaching your kids? Remember this, their only ‘crime’ in their eyes is they said it where they were recorded saying it. I can just about guarantee you, that’s a conversation that’s taken place across the country by other teachers, and most likely by the ones in your home town.
Fine. Fire them all.
Rehire new teachers with drug testing and lie detector tests.
Otherwise . . .
Good that they resigned, but now for some ugly truths:
1) NO one ever shows up to school board meetings unless sports are an agenda item. How many people here have attended one meeting?
2) These people aren’t paid, but many have agendas since many are
also retired teachers.
3) Parents DO look at schools as a glorified baby sitting service so they can pursue their selfish lifestyles.
4) Our govt school systems are so F’d up because of all of the above.
If you want to throw stones, have at it, but take a long good look in the mirror before you do. If you’re not part of the solution, your part of the problem. If you REALLY care about your kids, take them OUT of the evil govt school system and home school!
Well said. Prepare for incoming.
I find nothing shocking in that video. It is who they are and I am sure who and what most of their predecessors have been for probably decades now.
Daughters of the ChiCom Revolution
As somebody who gets to see this first hand every day, covid-school has been an unmitigated disaster. The schools have been angling to organize and teach “flex” learning for several years now, and these plans are based on flawed assumptions about human behavior.
– that students can supervise themselves
– that if you provide the information, students will embrace self-learning
– that parents are not relevant to the process
– that children are blank slates we can turn into whatever we want
The school I teach at is bleeding out. They’ve lost 10-20% of their enrollment. They’re canceling higher-end classes like AP calculus due to insufficient enrollment…the system is incapable of producing sufficient numbers of qualified students capable of taking advanced courses.
Things said on this conference that are TRUE:
– parents DO want their babysitters back. Many simply do not want to deal with their kid at home. If your kid doesn’t do his homework at home in e-learning, that’s on the parent. Most parents are incapable of holding their kids accountable.
– parents say the most vile things without once considering their own responsibility for their child’s bad choices, or the impact of their emails and phone calls on teachers
I’m no public school apologist. I’ve taught in many places outside of government 9-12 schools. Their mistake in this video is they said it out loud.
2 weeks ago, a strong math student approached me about doubling up on two particular math classes. I support this, but I also know that the school doesn’t recommend it. So I told her that, and followed up with her parents letting them know what I thought, what the school admin typically says, and giving them options outside the school if the answer was “no”.
The mom flipped out. She sent a two-page rant about how SHE doubled up and it was just fine, and how dare the school “not recommend” this approach. Keep in mind, all I did was say “I’m fine with it, the school might say no, here are three good alternatives”.
The dad ALSO flipped out, and used my words to call a Counselor a liar. She is nothing of the sort. I sent the dad an email the next morning asking he to please call me.
We spoke for about 10 minutes. He had NO IDEA that his and his wife’s emails had put my job in immediate jeopardy. I had shared information with them, and they immediately weaponized it.
He was apologetic, and kept saying “How could they think that? You’ve been incredibly helpful, and the ONLY person at the school who would talk to us!”
I told him that what he and his wife wrote, while it might be how they feel, was so angry and abusive, that I was being blamed for the it.
I didn’t plan on returning next year any way, but parents think their words and actions have no consequences. Or, that they can go Mama Bear and to hell with who gets destroyed.
I’m a great teacher. And I’ve been doing this long enough to know that there is on oversupplyof stupid parents.
Elearning has been a success in a few important ways:
1. Parents are realizing how much of the school day involves actual learning: not much.
2. Parents are realizing that the primary reason for their child’s lack of education is inadequate parental involvement at home.
3. Smarter parents are starting to realize that they don’t really need the public school. Parents with resources are fleeing the system.
It’s probably good that these board members quit. But let’s not pretend that – because of their tone and vulgarity – that their observations are invalid.
Well said. I met many teachers that were excellent teachers, and many that I wouldn’t let teach my dog.
I have been on both sides: teaching science at a home school co-op, and being a school board trustee. I found both very rewarding.
Its sad when the gifted and talented programs are the first to suffer under budget cuts. God gave each of us gifts of talents, and with that knowledge, life is more exciting when you discover Gods plan for you.
If you still have a love for teaching, there are many opportunities within the homeschool, and private school communities. They might not pay as much, but the rewards are amazing.
Well said.
Sorry to hear about those parents ranting like spoiled brats and basically stabbing you in the back. Not surprising. I have no love for school board members but teachers are the meat and potatoes, some are good and some not so much but they should be respected by parents and students alike if they are trying to do their job honestly and with good intention. Most of my kids went to private religious school. When you pay a hefty price you make sure your kids are getting all they can from school and the teachers know they have to be on their game because the parents are making a big sacrifice for their kids to attend. It usually works well for both parties. Public school seems like everyone taking advantage or ranting on everyone else. I don’t hear many good stories about it. I have a feeling that you are one of the gems in the system. My hat is off to you for sticking with it and trying to be honest and helpful. I can see how lack of parental responsibility with their children’s education in all aspects plays a big part.
My kids go to private school. In a former classroom teacher/substitute teacher and homeschooler.
Parents think if they complain, it will cause positive change in the system. They assume they are the customer, and they expect to be able to complain and get better service.
This is not true in the public schools. Complaining will only endanger the good teachers jobs and put a target on your back.
But in private schools, it can work. We had a narcissist as our head master, didn’t care about the math curriculum, just the prestige his position as the head of our private school afforded him. He liked rubbing elbows with wealthy donors and fundraising at fancy banquets. Planning for teacher development and curriculum? Not so much. They had older edition teacher manuals and newer edition student manuals. The teachers didn’t even have answer keys to correct the math problems.
Parents complained, he didn’t care. So we made formal complaints to the President of what is basically the “school board” for our local private schools. It took almost a year, but he was finally replaced. Because we went “Mama Bear,” but managed to do it in a calm and rationale manner.
That’s the key. Keep calm and simply explain the problem. When our emotions are kept in check, things get done. The president of the area school board thanked my husband several times for his calm demeanor and clear concise reasoning in his emails and in their meetings. We got involved after almost a year of other parents angrily complaining. Our calm and rationale demeanor helped get the finally resolved.
BUSTED!!! Bwahahaha!!! (sorry, couldn’t help myself) 😉
We need to rethink the educational methods (notice I didn’t say ‘system’) we employ in this country. No longer should we outsource this task to people working against God, our society, and ourselves.
Considering the worshipping of satan by the Vatican, we need to be careful, extremely careful, about our alternative choices we once thought we had.
Good. Now they will finally know what it feels like to miss a few paychecks.
The school board may have been unpaid. They might be teachers in another district (a lot of them are to lock down union favorable slots on the area school boards) and they often find other ways of making money from the positions, graft, bribes to get a job in the district, etc.
I’m surprised that they felt the need to resign, especially here in Kali.
It’s typical of government school and government school employees. If the right would pull their children out of government school, we might be able to save the country.
