In reality, Haley did a very good job as our UN Representative. She was very tough.
So it is weird to hear her say we/she shouldn’thave followed PDT. No reason, at the time, to believe she was doing her job at the UN in a way that was contrary to her own beliefs.

I am convinced Pence was in on the steal. He never complained once publicly about voter fraud or irregularities. He acted like he could have cared less. I never trusted him from the beginning and he proved me right.
The problem is… Did Trump trust Pence? If so, that would make you (and others) on the outside a more astute judge of character than PDT. I certainly trusted Pence and believed him to be a faithful Christian and loyal American.
I trusted Barr and Pence because Trump did.
It is VERY hard for me to accept that Trump could be fooled by Pence but you and others on the outside were not.
I just do not believe it is possible for Pence to fool PDT for 4 years or even in the initial interviews when Trump was selecting a running mate and VP. Trump did not keep Pence sidelined these 4 years.
People here need to try to think this through. IF you believe Trump was duped by ALL, then you must have very little faith in PDT’s judgment.
I am struggling w/all of this failure because I did have great faith in President Trump… and NOT b/c I view him as ONE man doing this alone but b/c I totally believed he would NEVER take such RISKS w/our survival… frivolously. He WOULD put together a large team of loyal Americans he KNOWS will not betray him and the nation at this critical time in our history.
President Trump has not spoken yet. And we do not know what he intends or his perspective re what has occurred.

We need a concrete nationwide plan. We do not even know IF Trump will lead a 3rd party.
For years we have wondered how President Trump could have appointed Sessions, Wray, Barr, et. al. We wondered who advised or pressured him to make these dismal appointments.
The dismal second impeachment lawyers were absolutely picked by President Trump. This may indicate that President Trump is not a good judge of character when it comes to hiring.

The glaring problem w/such an assumption is that failure to hire wisely means that Trump risks the destruction of himself, his family, the corp he devoted a lifetime to building and puts millions of Americans who believed in him in real danger. Trump supporters are in fact in REAL danger.
There was NO room for carelessness, recklessness in selecting a team committed to his America 1st agenda. None. And you have 10s of millions of genuine supporters to choose from.
You never would flippantly say, publically, that you will drain the dangerous and powerful DC swamp unless you KNOW you can. Fail to destroy the swamp, and it WILL destroy you… and it appears to be doing exactly that.
IMO Trump would not fail, would not risk everything on a whim and HOPE for the best. He would not get it wrong. He would not be duped and outsmarted by a bunch of mere politicians. That is so reckless as to be insane.
Therefore, Trump MUST still have complex strategy to save the Republic that he knows will prevail in the end. We just do not see it.
Trump had no reason not to trust Sessions. Sessions was the first person to endorse him in the Senate, campaigned with him, and throughout his career was anti illegal immigration, anti h1b, and smacked joe’s hand away when he was trying to feel up his granddaughter.
We also know that Trump could not nominate anyone we would consider great because Mitch wouldn’t allow it. The Senate has to confirm appointments and they wouldn’t. Acting or temporary appointments had to have been previously confirmed for another role. So how do you propose he would get anyone decent approved? It took 2 years to get Grenell approved. They slow walked everything.
Traitor Pence was in charge of the transition team and hired swamprats for all kinds of executive positions. Oh and they had a database of MAGA applicants that “accidentally” got deleted.
Buddy, his first lawyers withdrew because of pressure, others turned him down for the same reason. Fun Fact, there are not that many high powered republican defense lawyers. I read one of the team was a democrat, brave man.
As for government jobs, Mitch controlled appointments that required confirmation. Others he might have preferred for staff positions would not subject themselves to the abuse they would have to take or that matter the possibility of being framed by the fbi.
This was the first day I watched some of the trial, and I thought his lawyers acquitted themselves well.

Donald Trump is a pretty good judge of people doing what he did for a living for over 40 years.

Retired Magistrate here: For those of you who are new to living in the country and this is your first Winter, I wanted to share some tips that have worked for my husband and I.
If you have older windows that leak (our house was built in 1957 and added onto in 1972, we have some double pane windows but many single pane with storm windows, and our former house was built in 1857 with really, really old windows) use painters tape (I use Frog Tape) to seal off the drafts. It works and you can do most of your house for about $7.00 or whatever the price of Frog Tape is in your area.
If you have a door or patio door that you do not use much and it leaks, put an old rug or rolled up towels underneath the door to stop the drafts. If you have drapes, open them on sunny days to take advantage of solar heating. At sunset, close the drapes to keep in the heat.
If it looks like a Winter snow storm is coming, fill up the bathtub because you need electricity to run your well pump and you will probably loose electricity. Also, fill up jugs of water for drinking. You don’t need to go to the store for water; you have it now. If you have a wood burning stove, get wood in now. You can actually heat things up on the top of a good wood burner. Do not put antibacterial cleaning products down your drains; it will ruin your septic system. You do not want to have to deal with a problematic septic system in the winter (or any other time).
For a shorter gravel driveway, a snow blower works best. Unless you are really good with a snowplow or have someone that is, a lot of your gravel will be plowed up with the snow. Introduce yourself to your neighbors. Most country people are more than willing to help out. When a winter storm hits, you can help each other out.
Have plenty of candles, batteries, kerosene lanterns, etc. on hand. Get some board games, cards, etc. to keep yourself entertained when the power goes out. If you can afford to, feed the birds; it brings great pleasure to watch them eat. They are so colorful; it is like a circus outside the window.
If you have pipes that freeze let the fawcet drip to keep the line open. Just some tips that we have learned from living in old, older homes in the country for over 40 years.
Finally, remember Spring is coming and here in central Ohio it is glorious.
For windows and doors another thing that can be done. Take the trim off around the windows. Pull the nails out from the back side of trim with a pair of pliers.
Get a can of spray from or two from local hardware store. For windows and doors look for the blue can I believe. It expands slower. Fill in the cracks beside window jamb. Same with door.
Most older homes the contractor didn’t insulate between. Some newer homes as well. It’s because they were being lazy or didn’t know.
The task may sound daunting but if you mark end to end where you take first peice of trim off it will all line back up.
Also with the spray foam once you open it you have to use it all. It does not save. I would suggest having a couple windows to do before ya start the process.
Good tips Marcia. Just thought I would add this. The difference people would see would put a smile on their face. Could be an inch or more beside windows/doors that are not insulated by anything. That’s a lot of unblocked cold air.
Make interior shutters. You can use that hard insulation stuff…it’s green..Cut size to fit into windows. Put up at night; pull curtains or blinds over. Or, you can cover them with an attractive fabric. Many people in Maine do this. You would be shocked at what a difference it makes.

You will know if you put your hand by trim. Trim will be cold or you will feel cold air.
Also, one of the most cost effective energy saving things you can do to your house is add insulation to the attic. I put in new windows (and insulation around them), about 16 inches of insulation in the attic and finally caulk anywhere you feel a draft. They energy bills went down.

Be sure tho if you see pink up in attack and your adding insulation.
Get insulation that doesn’t have paper back.
Your attic should be the same temperature it is outside.
If it’s not you need. More insulation or it’s not vented right.
You should have atleast 1 foot of ventilation for every 250 square foot of attic space.

The house we recently bought was built in 1962. Replacing the windows has helped immensely.It has no attic (flat roof), but we insulated underneath the entire house, except our living room that literally sits on concrete posts over tidal sea water.

I noticed that the second time I watched it, it looks like hip dysplasia. Very sad to see that and I hope he’s not in pain.
I had a large breed dog with hip dysplasia and knee issues and recognized it instantly. Unfortunately, to me it looks like he was in agony. He was pulling his hind leg up at one point and putting all his weight on his front legs when standing still. My dog was treated successfully with meds and didn’t feel pain much but we would never drag him on a long walk like that. We would also use a belly strap to take some weight off his legs and help him up and down the 2 stairs to outside.
Hip dysplasia is common in german shepherds, especially pure bred. Good breeders have their females and males checked by a vet before allowing them to breed in order to make sure (as much as possible) that the pups are not prone to the disease. Not all breeders are that cautious. Good breeders want to know if one of the dogs from their kennel develops hip dysplasia in order to stop further breeding.
Make sure to get the video of Jill sipping hot cocoa through her mask. Did the marshmallows stick? Did the dogs lift their leg?

The benefit of having an oligarchy in place is that it consolidates power to one dominant group. This group can focus on providing the day-to-day needs of the society so that everyone else can focus on their job, their family, or pursuing their goals. The average person has no need to worry about governing because they’ve been excluded from the ruling class.
Because an oligarchy is exclusionary, history has taught us that this structure tends to be tyrannical. It relies on either oppression or public obedience so that it can exist. It is a structure where the minority, not the majority, is able to rule.
Here is a pros and cons list that looks at the other aspects of an oligarchy.

1. It consolidates power with those who have expertise.
In an oligarchy, those who have the skills and experience are given the most power because they are the best at what they do. People are often groomed, usually within family structures, to take over a specific position within an organization or government. They may spend decades learning their craft before being given a position of power. That makes it possible for the organization or government to function properly because of the sheer amount of training involved.
2. It reduces societal pressures.
Within an oligarchy, the general population is free to do whatever they wish, as long as it is a legal action being taken. Teams can focus on completing projects using their creative talents. Families can cultivate relationships with one another. Individuals can pursue specific personal or career goals. When operating correctly, the oligarchy takes care of societal issues while individuals take care of themselves and their loved ones.
3. It encourages creative endeavors.
Because an oligarchy is focused on solving the daily problems which could trouble the government or an organization, the average person can focus on their own creativity instead of worrying about the “what ifs” in life. That means they may have more time to pursue athletics. They could work on innovating new technologies or ideas. They can focus on creative pursuits as well, such as painting or writing.
4. It encourages a conservative approach.
The primary goal of an oligarchy is to maintain the status quo. That means the general population within the oligarchy can have confidence in the direction they are headed. A single leader would struggle under a proper oligarchy to take a business or government toward risky ventures because risk would reduce the status quo for everyone in that society.
5. It still allows anyone to join.
An oligarchy may attempt to consolidate power and limit access to itself, but a true oligarchy also realizes that the people with the best skills should be in charge. That means anyone has the potential to join the ruling class, especially from a business perspective. The idea is this: if you study long enough and work hard enough, you have the chance to experience success. Even when access is restricted, there is still a hope present and that helps society progress forward.

Those in the ruling class often share the same experiences. That means there is an extreme lack of diversity within the ruling class and that will eventually inhibit their growth over time.

People become frustrated with an oligarchy if they feel like they don’t have an opportunity to join it. The ruling class becomes frustrated when they feel like the general population is no longer being obedient. Both perspectives can clash with one another to create an all-out conflict. Should this occur, the economy becomes disrupted as war breaks out. War will always create pain and suffering.
4. It can be restrictive.
An oligarchy that is able to seize a considerable amount of power is able to have high levels of influence on their economy. In some situations, the free market can even be restricted by the actions of the oligarchs that are in charge. The oligarchy could fix prices, provide benefits to certain classes, or limit the number of available supplies to the general populations. This violates the laws of supply and demand, which can create even more harm to the majority while the minority benefits.
5. It creates puppet leaders.
The true power of an oligarchy lies not in the leadership, but in the group of people that surround the leader. In many systems that focus on a structure of oligarchy, a weak leader will consolidate their power to remain in charge. They do this by increasing the power of those they trust. When that leader leaves office, the remainder of the group stays in power. To maintain appearances, a puppet leader is often chosen to represent the group.
In the United States, income inequality has risen dramatically since 1979. The income levels of the top 1% of earners in the U.S. has risen 400% when compared to the other 99% of earners. 67% of this total increase went to the top 0.1% of the earners. Those within this group sit on the same Board of Directors, travel in similar social circles, and have their children attend the same schools.
With this oligarchy pros and cons list, it becomes possible to recognize the times when a minority attempts to take control from the majority. That recognition makes it possible to resist its formation, whether it occurs in business or within the government.
