Did a grocery run this weekend to HEB and it was the first time in almost a year that about 40% of the people were NOT wearing masks. All ages young and old. Texans are fed up.
If anyone ever says anything to me about my lack of a mask (I do wear one but not all the time), I will say I chose to die on my terms not by a thousand cuts the dems have planned.
I’m in Fl. I don’t wear a mask and haven’t for a long time. I have had no problem and have not even been approached except for one small business where the owner very politely offered me a mask. I said no thanks and told my friend I would wait outside. I have, however, gotten some dirty looks by mask wearers.
In the People’s Republic of Covid Compliant Killer Cuomo’s NY- you need a mask to walk down the street in many places. Cops can actually fine you. There is no organized resistance to the muzzle masks of submission. It is all done on an individual basis.
The only time I ever put one on is to do necessary shopping at a super market. Locally I do it out of loyalty to my nearby deli. I don’t want him to be forced out of business by the lib Nazis who complain to the board of health that people are coming into his store without masks. He is getting fined out of existence. Can’t let that happen to a friend.

Recently, I went into one business in Syracuse and they had a contract tracing log that they wanted everyone to sign.
My first inclination was to get irritated, but then I noticed that no one was checking the log as people signed in, so I thought to myself, “Why not put down Andrew Cuomo’s name?”
Then, if they get an outbreak of Coronavirus, they can quarantine that pompous fool.
Cuomo killed many with his policies.
I’ll leave it to others to decide whether he did it knowingly or not.

I did the same as you, went into a small business with my sister. I put my mask on at first, but then told my sis I’d wait outside. Trump can declare a National Emergency based on proven fraud in the election, declare the election beyond repair, turn everything over to FEMA and the proper people in the military, then step down.
FEMA will then hold another election in February with the requirement that ID must be shown. The military would be used to make sure there is no fraud.
President Trump then gets re-elected and moves back into the White House for his second term.
During this time hopefully some of the corrupt cabal would be arrested for their crimes and treasonous acts.

His domestic policies, and foreign policies were astoundingly successful, including the ideal of not starting foreign wars, withdrawing troops, etc… I think his policies have legs, and will look ever better to a watching world. History may be very kind to Donald Trump, and he may not be done.
I think POTUS will and can have more of a huge, unrestrained influence on the political culture as Private Citizen with the devotion of an 80+ million PAC by his side.
We are not going anywhere, and try as they might, the enemies of the people cannot and will not change this fact.
It’s great to have Hopes and dreams. Smart people build on and act on ideas originating as daydreams. And when you combine 80+million hopes and dreams, you have created and undeniable and powerful enemy.

Speaking of “not going away”, I notice both Newsome and Coumo have built up security in their capitols, emulating on a smaller scale the build up in d.c.
All are perplexed and speculating on this build up that seems irrational and disproportionate.
Thing is, the official rrason given is apperently that the “Trump supporters that stormed the Capitol” might return, en mass, not only in d.c., but to State Capitols, and attack government facilities in a Nationwide insurrection.
So, taking that premise at ‘face value’, WHEN is the threat reduced, to the point the measures can be withdrawn? Obviously, the inaugeration being completed without incident doesn’t alleviate the situation, or addressed the alleged threat.

Sandra, I have been a Treeper for more than 5 years and comment on occasion. I think most people who are aware of my posts are keen to the fact that I always try and keep the positive and hopeful outlook.
I organized a charter bus of 48 people on January 6 to D.C. It was a glorious and inspiring day until we began to realize other events were transpiring.
It has been my observation that many of the comments have turned foreboding and a general “throw in the towel” resignation. I’ve tried to post positive videos from God’s Prophets that it’s not over ’til it’s over.
I think that’s what you’re feeling and I don’t like it either. I actually haven’t looked a The Conservative Treehouse much, because this is the place I always sought Refuge and it’s largely not here right now.

Also, I think many people here are really angry about all this and they are holding their anger in and it comes out in arguments with others with whom they disagree a little bit with the way they see things.
I had a real life argument with my best friend over what the liberals think about the election. She said 90% of Democrats believe the election was valid and not stolen and i said I don’t believe that. (She has a Silicon Valley brother whom she believes the election was honest.) I think they know there was election fraud but they think the end justifies the means. I said if they truly don’t know they are seriously stupid and unsophisticated and besides so many of them were involved with the stealing. As a result of this argument, I realized how much anger I had inside. I don’t want to be an angry person.

Valid observations. I didn’t post a lot on comments on conservative sites until other sites were eliminating conservative posts. Some eliminated comments altogether. Where to go?
Along with the hard censorship that sites like Twitter, Facebook, et al were forcefully installing was the soft censorship- the “self imposed” censoring of ourselves in order not to be banned. Our most outspoken thought leaders began to fall in line because they chose money over principle. Have you noticed?

Interesting observation. For myself, I have essentially been a lurker for years, reading SD’s posts and the thoughtful replies. If someone tracked my participation, they’d see that it increased dramatically since the move from WordPress. For me, there was something psychological about that move, that safe space, that made me want to participate more. I hope my comments are thoughtful and in keeping with guidelines. I find it does not uphold human dignity to call people names or direct expletives at them. Assessing their actions as just and good or not is another thing.
Thank you for not insulting me! I am not opposed to new treepers, just some of the new ones are vipers. yesterday I was stalked on every comment I made by one. This is just HIGHLY unusual behavior that old time Treepers would never do.

That doesn’t work for me; I click on the bell and the only notice I get is via email that tells me to ‘confirm subscription’ and when I do that it simply brings me back to the Treehouse homepage. Using chrome; desktop.
It did work once, the very first time and after that only the ‘confirm subscription’ link appears.
I think we are, at some level, in the middle stages of grief. Some are angry, some in disbelief, others are bargaining and begging for something to change back. But it cannot.

I often think of how much my father, Melville “Bud” Hynde, who proudly served his country as a Marine on Guadalcanal, would have enjoyed your Presidency. The other day when you gave that award to Rush Limbaugh, my father would have been so delighted. He loved listening to Rush, which is why I allowed my song, ‘My City Was Gone’, to be used on his radio show.
My father and I didn’t always see eye-to-eye. We argued a lot, but isn’t that the American way? The right to disagree without having your head chopped off?
Soon, I will be participating in a protest in London against the extradition of Julian Assange. I know my father would be mortified, but I feel strongly enough to do what I believe is the right thing; to protest further punishment of a man who sought to defend Freedom, albeit in a way you rightly disagree with.
I know Mr. Assange broke the law (as i have done defending the treatment of animals) but I believe he has been duly punished and should now be set free.

Grocery store back to normal. For example, bagels are in the bin, no longer individually wrapped. But people are still wearing the masks.
