I’m someone that has been in the outer branches of the treehouse for many years and used to be fairly active under a different name. I just have to say…its over folks, the other side has won. We’ve lost what was a great country and our worse (our liberty). Wake up, your vote no longer matters and the rule of law is a facade so stop talking about votes and judges and political parties. What I wanted to share before retiring back to my branch is to look beyond politics for a second, there is a massive financial collapse on the horizon and the Dems will hasten its arrival with exponentially out of control spending. This country will be brought to its knees quite soon …From there, it’s greatER depression time. Take some time to focus inward and prepare for you and your family. I know most will disregard and go on chasing the squirrel but maybe a few will see the light in time.

A story from the 2nd day of battle at Gettysburg.

Prior to the battle at Gettysburg this battery and it’s new commander, Capt. Charles Bigalow had not been involved in any serious battle.
During Longstreet’s in echelon attack on July 2nd, 1863 Bigalows battery was moved forward to support the apex of the III Corp line. An hour or so earlier the III Corp commander, Daniel Sickles, had moved his Corp forward believing that the slightly higher ground before him was more defendable and in doing so broke the continuity of the Federal line and exposed his corps flanks.
.Initially Bigalows battery was positioned near the famous peach orchard facing south along the Wheat field road. It was lined up with other batteries and this line of field artillery totaled 30 guns.
From this position Bigalow and the other batteries engaged the left flank of the Confederate brigades of Semmes and Kershaw as they advanced eastward across the grounds of the Rose Farm.?itok=BWBpgHZM

I did some research for a friend on his ancestor which was in the 50th Georgia in Semmes Brigade. He certainly came under the very effective fire of Bigalows guns and the other Union batteries lined up along the Wheatfield road. Confederate survivors of this action spoke of remembering the slap of solid shot hitting the stone sides of the Rose farm house. During this time almost 400 men of Semmes Brigade of Georgians were killed by this flanking fire of iron tennis balls from the 30 guns lined up along what would become known as “the wheat field road”. 
Initially the Confederate infantry was fired on using case shot because the range was too great for canister. Here is what a round of canister looked like as used in the 12 lb. Napoleon pieces the 9th MA Battery was armed with. Joshuas Attic Each of those solid iron balls are about the size of a tennis ball.

Eventually portions of the two regiments on the left of Kershaws line turned to face and assault the batteries that were laying the devastating fire into the flanks. As Kershaw’s infantry got closer the batteries switched to canister and then double canister. A canister shell for a Napoleon 12 pounder held 27 lead or steel balls that were 1/2″ in diameter. This shot gun type round cut great swaths in the lines of attacking infantry.

Then the Confederate brigades of Barksdale and Wolford attacked from the west across the Emmitsburg road and the Peach Orchard that was the apex of the IIl Corp. line collapsed under a terrible cross fire. Thus the Federal units in the vicinity of the Peach orchard had to withdrawal.
Bigalow moved his battery to the North East across rolling pastures but generally sloping down hill, stopping to fire and then moving again as the Confederate infantry got too close. The guns were moved by their own recoil and by prolong. Moving a gun by prolong consists of hooking ropes to the trail piece of the gun so it cam be dragged by hand. This method of moving a civil war field piece was usually used when the gun only had to be moved a short distance and so it was not worth the effort or would be awkward to hook the team or horsed up for the move. But Bigalow’s battery used the prolongs initially because they simply did not have time to hook up the teams of horses and the Confederate infantry was too close. Also whenever each side was attempting to take a battery they targeted the horses to try and keep it from getting away.

So Bigalow’s men dragged their pieces a short distance than fired and then dragged them further and when the infantry got to close fired then again. During this movement double canister was used to keep the Mississippi infantry of Barkesdale’s Brigade from over running them. This went on with Bigalow losing men and horses the whole way until his battery ended up in a position in the Trostle farm yard with a stone wall behind them and another to one side. (At the time of the battle the lane that ran to the Trostle farm ended at a stone wall that was about 3′ high and ran north to south. Another stone wall that ran east west and separated the lane from the house adjoined it. Now only a portion of those walls exist since the Trostle farm lane was extended to the east as a road by the National Park Service.)

At this position, backed into a corner with the stone walls blocking reatreat, Bigalow was ordered to “hold at all hazards”. There was no union infantry or artillery behind his position and he had to buy time for this gap in the Union lines to be filled.

As the Confederates advanced so did some of their supporting artillery and so Bigalow received considerable counter battery fire. About 1/2 hour before at the Trostle farm yard Gen. Daniel Sickles had his leg smashed by some type of solid shot. Sickles survived having his leg amputated and had it preserved. Every year after that on the anniversary of his wounding he would visit his leg bones and it is still in display today File:Sickles leg.jpg – Wikipedia
When not visiting his leg Sickles spent a great deal of the rest of his life defending his command decision to move his Corp. forward without authorization of Gen. Meade.

Eventually Bigalows exhausted battery faced the 21st Mississipi regiment (IMO as a general rule the most aggressive regiments in the Confederate Army were those from Mississippi and Texas.)advancing on them from the west and some of the skirmishers from various regiments of Kershaws brigade advancing on them from the south and southwest. Because of the stone wall only two of Bigalows guns could withdrawal with their teams or horses dragging them by force over the wall. As the Confederates got close enough they started shooting the horses of the battery. This was a common practice of the time. Capturing enemy guns was second in prestige only to capturing an enemies colors or a General Officer.   Bigalows other four guns, being unable to escape, were manned even and the artillery men fought the Confederate infantry hand to hand. 

Bigalow was wounded and de-horsed and nearly captured but his battery’s bugler returned into the fray and helped his commander retreat from the field (for which he would receive the Medal of Honor) and finally the survivors that could, including Bigalow, abandoning their guns, escaped to the rear with only two guns of the six their battery started out with. (Later that day all of Bigalows guns would be recovered by a strong a valiant charge by the 150th NY Infantry. But the recovered guns were too damaged to be used for the rest of the battle.)
In addition to the loss of four of their guns Bigalow’s battery had lost 28 men and sixty of it’s eighty eight horses. But their sacrifice had not been in vain. Their desperate work had slowed the Confederates enough that behind them more Union artillery and infantry was forming up on a new line exactly where the left of the III Corp line had been before it’s Sickles had moved it forward. This new line, manned by regular (not volunteer) US infantry and artillery and reinforcements from the 12th Corp, held.  If it had not the Union forces on little round top would have been flanked on the north side of the hill and the rear of the famous “fish hook line” open. If this had happened Longstreet’s men would have won the battle of Gettysburg on the 2nd day of the battle. 
So on such actions as those of the 9th MA battery the outcomes of battles that sometimes determine the fate of nations are determined. The next day the Bigalow’s battery had it’s last two operational guns placed at Zeigler’s Grove on the west face of Cemetery hill and helped stem Pickett’s charge losing five more horses during that fight.

As Bigalow’s men fought their delaying action at the Trostle farm, not far away to the south east Lt. Col Joshua Chaimberlain, leading the 20th Maine on little round top was earning his Medal of Honor as part of the desperate and successful defense of the extreme left flank of the Army of the Potomac’s line.

Over a year later, when the Union forces first advanced on Petersburg, VA. Major Bigalow in his last action as commander of the battery, supported an ill fated and ill conceived attack in which Col. Joshua Chamberlain, now a Brigade commander, was shot through his hip while leading the charge he was ordered to make but knew was suicidal. . When General Grant was informed of the action and told that Chamberlain was not expected to survive he gave him a battlefield commission to Brigadier Gen. (The only such commission Grant gave during the war). Chamberlain beat the odds and survived his wound and went back to war as a General leading a Brigade.

Then still later in the wars final days, with Chamberlain back in the saddle again and in pursuit of the confederates retreating from Richmond – Petersburg, Bigalows battery would once again support Chamberlains men in battle.  Chamberlain was at Appomattox but Bigalow’s Battery was not. It was stopped at Nottoway Courthouse during the pursuit. Chamberlain was selected by Grant to receive the surrender of Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia while Bigalows battery began the trip home crossing the many fields of battle where it had served via City point and a Grand March in Washington. During the war the Battery lost 14 men killed or who died of wounds, and another five to disease.

How Does Faith Establish the Law?

“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.”
 
In this passage, salvation by “faith” is being contrasted to salvation by “works” (Rom. 3:27), the works or “deeds” of the law (v. 28). The law demands 100% righteousness to be saved (Gal. 3:10; James 2:10,11). That means to be saved by the deeds of the law, you would have to bend the law to say that God will accept people who are only 75% righteous, or 88% righteous, or even 99% righteous.
 
But faith in the sacrifice of Christ for our sins doesn’t have to bend the law, it establishes the law. Faith acknowledges that “the law is holy, and…just, and good” (Rom 7:12), but that we are “carnal, sold under sin” (v. 14). That is, faith establishes that there is nothing wrong with the law, there is something wrong with us. We can’t keep the law perfectly, so we must place our faith in the Christ who kept it perfectly for us, and then died a sacrificial death on our behalf.
 
It was because the righteousness of the law couldn’t be fulfilled by us that Christ “gave Himself for us” (Titus 2:14), that “the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us” by Him (Rom. 8:4).

INTIMATE WITH JESUS
 
“Have I been so long with you, and yet hast thou not known Me?” John xiv. 9
 
These words are not spoken as a rebuke, nor even with surprise; Jesus is leading Philip on. The last One with whom we get intimate is Jesus. Before Pentecost the disciples knew Jesus as the One Who gave them power to conquer demons and to bring about a revival (see Luke x. 18-20). It was a wonderful intimacy, but there was a much closer intimacy to come – “I have called you friends.” Friendship is rare on earth. It means identity in thought and heart and spirit. The whole discipline of life is to enable us to enter into this closest relationship with Jesus Christ. We receive His blessings and know His word, but do we know Him?
 
Jesus said, “It is expedient for you that I go away” – in that relationship, so that He might lead them on. It is a joy to Jesus when a disciple takes time to step more intimately with Him. Fruit bearing is always mentioned as the manifestation of an intimate union with Jesus Christ (John xv. 1-4). When once we get intimate with Jesus we are never lonely, we never need sympathy, we can pour out all the time without being pathetic. The saint who is intimate with Jesus will never leave impressions of himself, but only the impression that Jesus is having unhindered way, because the last abyss of his nature has been satisfied by Jesus. The only impression left by such a life is that of the strong calm sanity that Our Lord gives to those who are intimate with Him.

In my daily prayer today what came to me was that President Trump has fulfilled God’s purpose; to fully expose to us the rot within our institutions.

We’ve been waiting for others to do the work for us; to be our savior when God already sent us The Savior.

I say to you now… WE are the Kraken released to end the corruption.

So let’s get Crackin’.

This is my take on yesterday’s incursion into the capital building. I believe this was a false flag operation. I have no proof of course. Here is why: Who did this action help and who did it hurt. Of course I don’t think the death of Ashlie Babbit was a planed part of it.

1. The “riot” made the President look like he encouraged the “mob” to storm the building, Win for the dems and the media.
2. The actions of folks all dressed up in Trump gear made the “movement” look like an out of control “white, right wing” band of deplorables. Again win for the dems and the media.
3. The timing of the action was just too good. The debate over Arizona and the election fraud had just started. Evidence was starting to be introduced and would be revealed to the country. However, after the incident all that went away. Little more discussion really about any state. So the evidence doesn’t get out again The joint session then certifies the results and boom! Every thing is done and neatly wrapped. BIG win for the dems, media and the biggest winner, the DEEP STATE. You can throw Pence and the rinos in there too.

So that is the winners.
Who lost? Trump, Trump supporters, the citizens of this country and the world really. You, me and especially our posterity.
That’s my opinion. Nothing more.

Over the past couple years I have been struck by this truth:

I have seen actions taken against me that seem so unjust. And then it turns out that the results of those actions are a boon to me. They have the effect of pointing me in the right direction or introducing me to a new concept or putting me in the right place at the right time.

The sin belongs to the sinner; the karma belongs to the perpetrator and my actions belong to me.

There are spiritual laws.

My first thought this morning when I woke up was, “The Republic is Dead.”

But as I was driving my kids to school this morning I thought about the Boston Massacre and what the colonists must have been thinking after it happened. How many were discouraged, disgusted and morally defeated? It happened in 1770. The Revolutionary War didn’t kickoff for another five years (April 1775.)

Today walking my boys into school, there was a very different feeling amongst the parents specifically the other fathers, the eye glances, and body language. There was definitely a feeling of need to connect with likeminded patriots yet no one said a word.

I would like to offer, for your listening pleasure, one of my favorite albums. The uploader, Ean Grimm, is a composer who usually/used to upload his own music. Over the past couple of years, he’s been facing severe health problems, so he formed a partnership with other composers who weren’t well-known and has been uploading their music with full credit. My favorite of these is Alexander Nakarada, the composer of today’s album.

Most of these songs are good background music, but a small handful have rocketed into the position of all-time favorites. Most notable of these is Reaching the Sky, at 19:59. He has also uploaded a four-minute version on his own channel. It’s a very uplifting, heartening melody.

Strange:
For the last year or so, my oldest granddaughter has been living with us as she completed her degree at IUPUI in Indianapolis. Today she leaves for Texas. Her Bow is in the Army at Ft. Hood and she, wanting to be with him, has already set up for an apartment and good job and has been accepted at Texas A&M to get her masters.
Yesterday evening her Bow called and told her that he had been alerted for a PCS (Permanent Change of Station) move, with his unit, to S. Korea even though he was to ETS (End Time in Service) in December this year. The guy is a aviation refueling specialist working with helicopters. This guys unit just got done with a 3 month training period at the NTC (National Training Center), where whole units square off against a cadre of experienced aggressors.
He was informed just yesterday that the Army has opted for an emergency involuntary 2 year extension for his enlistment. Now this seems pretty strange to me! In my experience such extensions are only used when conflict is imminent or on going and then usually only for those in critical jobs/MOSes or career service members nearing retirement. This kid is on his first enlistment and somehow I doubt that a helicopter refueler is a critical MOS.
So, the way I see it, either trouble expected in the near future over there or the Army is having some real recruitment problems.

My true feelings about the events in DC.
The mob was an integral part of getting the revolution from which this country formed started. Running the British governor out of town. intimidating the colonial authorities, The Boston Tea Party, The Boston massacre. All were the results of actions of the mob and all moved the masses that sparked the change that ended the tyranny and oppression and brought about the greatest experiment in self governance which brought forth a power for good and self determination the world had never seen before.   

 I do not condemn the mob and in fact encourage them. They are merely expressing the outrage so many of us feel about the true will of the people being subverted in the last election by lawless acts and the cowardice acts of those in positions of authority that have brought us to this point. If you cannot see that our Republic is no more as of yet, I believe that your eyes will most likely be opened as the ruling class takes ever increasing oppressive measures to ensure their total grasp of power and wealth in this nation.  

So I say LONG LIVE THE MOB until the day the spark of a new revolution is blown to a flame that will bring the people to fight to destroy those will be oppressing us. This oppression will come on several fronts. The one most likely to effect our lives will financial in nature. 

If my words upset any of you I cannot say I’m sorry. This is truly the way I feel about where we are and where we are going and now the tyranny will have to be confronted initially. .

That seeks to “move on” for the sake of avoiding conflict

But fails to root out injustice.

Lord, we place ourselves and our nation in your hands.

As Jesus prayed in the Garden, if it be your will,

Let this cup pass by,

That no further harm may come to our nation,

Our economy, our security, our religious freedom,

Or our children, born and unborn.

Lord, we are always ready to do your will

And if your will is that we be led into even greater battles,

Then we are ready to fight.

We are ready to expose evil

And to resist wickedness.

We are ready to refute falsehood

And to defend freedom.

We are ready to challenge political authority,

Resist un-American and unjust policies,

And prepare even now for future elections

In which we will vote out of office

All those who do not belong there.

Fill us with your Spirit,

That we may be even stronger than we have been in the past,

Even more united,

Even more prayerful,

And even more patriotic.

Lord, you are the God of every nation.

As we fight these battles,

May we have your peace and joy

In the confident assurance

That the final victory of truth, justice, freedom and life

Has already been won

In Him who died and rose again,

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords,

Jesus Christ,

In whose holy name we pray. Amen.
