Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The Resurrection Mourning
By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
“But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping” (John 20:11).
Why did she weep? Because the tomb was empty! What needless sorrows follow in the wake of unbelief! Those tear-dimmed eyes did not see the evidence of the Lord’s resurrection. And when the angels asked: “Why weepest thou?” she said: “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him.” Poor woman! She would rather have found His body there!
But here are two on their way to Emmaus, no less sorrowful. They are talking together about all that has happened during the past few days and “[as] they communed together and reasoned, Jesus Himself drew near and went with them, but their eyes were holden that they should not know Him. And He said unto them: What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?” (Luke 24:15-17).
The word “walk” here does not mean to walk on but to walk about — to wander aimlessly. They were on their way to Emmaus, but they were so brokenhearted that they did not care whether or not they got there. What had caused them to give up hope? Listen to their own explanations:
“We trusted that it had been He which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done” (Luke 24:21).
They had given up hope because this was the third day since the Lord’s crucifixion, yet this was the very day He was to rise from the dead, according to His own oft-repeated promise.
Mary weeps because the tomb is empty! The two disciples are brokenhearted because this is now the third day since His death! We smile at the irony of unbelief. But what about ourselves? The risen, glorified Christ exercises far greater power and offers far greater blessings to believers now than His followers of old knew anything about.
“Oh, what peace we often forfeit! Oh, what needless pain we bear!” All because we do not take God at His Word.

Paul is Proof of Christ’s Resurrection
By Justin Johnson
According to the Biblical record, Paul was the only apostle ordained by Christ after his resurrection (1 Tim 2:7, Acts 9:15).
The twelve apostles (including Matthias) were all disciples of the Lord while he was yet on the earth before his death (Acts 1:21-23).
Paul (then called Saul) did nothing but oppose the Lord’s ministry before and after his crucifixion until Christ appeared to him in resurrected glory.
Without Christ’s resurrection, there would be no Paul, only Saul.
This makes Paul the apostle of the resurrected Christ.
The Resurrection Message of Paul
The resurrection of Christ is central to Paul’s gospel and message. It is not a secondary issue or an afterthought.
“But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” – 1 Cor 15:13-14
When Paul’s special apostleship is rejected, it is tacit denial of the Lord’s resurrected ministry through the church.
It was the Lord from glory that first explained the doctrine, position, walk, and destiny of the church. All of which are only found in the writings of the apostle of the resurrected Lord.
The resurrection of Christ was not necessary for the law-keeping, kingdom building, and faith plus works preaching of the twelve.
The twelve apostles of Israel’s kingdom ministry were able to preach their message of the king and the kingdom come before Christ died and resurrected.
Even after the resurrection, the earthly apostles stayed in Jersualem and were eventually tolerated as another law abiding sect with a preferred Messiah (Acts 21:20).
The apostle of the resurrection claimed to receive instructions that could only be revealed by the resurrected Lord himself.
“Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:” – 2 Tim 2:8
“…and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began…” – Rom 16:25
Paul Questioned because of Resurrection
Paul’s conversion and message depends on Christ’s resurrection.
“Men and brethren… of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.” – Acts 23:6
The Jerusalem saints were accepted because of their zeal for the law. Neither Paul’s apostleship nor his message could be accepted, because accepting Paul’s testimony would be accepting revelation from a resurrected Christ.
“Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?” – Acts 26:8
Paul’s testimony requires the resurrection of Christ, otherwise his conversion and ministry is the greatest lie in Christianity.
Paul was not an apostle among the twelve chosen by the Lord in his earthly ministry. If Paul is an apostle of Christ, then Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
“Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)… Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.” – Gal 1:1; Gal 1:20
Paul is proof of Christ’s resurrection.
Following Paul is following Christ in his resurrection ministry from heaven.
Without the resurrection of Christ, Paul has no message, no ministry, and no salvation, and neither do we.

Food security. Empty grocery store shelves apparently scared a lot of people, so much so that last spring, many seed suppliers sold out. Then freezers became darn near impossible to find. Then canners (water bath and pressure) vanished from the shelves. And then the shortage of jars and lids hit. It’s been … crazy.
Jess of Roots and Refuge Farm did a “review” video the other day of a few of those “survival seed” collections. Excellent general info in the first 10 – 15 minutes. I have wondered what those collections were like, and I enjoyed seeing what the sellers believe comprise “survival seeds.”

Psalm 36
1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD. Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
3 The words of his mouth are mischief and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
4 He plots mischief while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he spurns not evil.
5 Thy steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, thy faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God, thy judgments are like the great deep; man and beast thou savest, O LORD.
7 How precious is thy steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of thy wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of thy house, and thou givest them drink from the river of thy delights.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life; in thy light do we see light.
10 O continue thy steadfast love to those who know thee, and thy salvation to the upright of heart!
11 Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the evildoers lie prostrate, they are thrust down, unable to rise.
Psalm 37
1 A Psalm of David. Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers!
2 For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security.
4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
6 He will bring forth your vindication as the light, and your right as the noonday.
7 Be still before the LORD, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
9 For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait for the LORD shall possess the land.
10 Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look well at his place, he will not be there.
11 But the meek shall possess the land, and delight themselves in abundant prosperity.
12 The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him;
13 but the LORD laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows, to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly;
15 their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 Better is a little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the righteous.
18 The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will abide for ever;
19 they are not put to shame in evil times, in the days of famine they have abundance.
20 But the wicked perish; the enemies of the LORD are like the glory of the pastures, they vanish–like smoke they vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows, and cannot pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;
22 for those blessed by the LORD shall possess the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a man are from the LORD, and he establishes him in whose way he delights;
24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD is the stay of his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging bread.
26 He is ever giving liberally and lending, and his children become a blessing.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; so shall you abide for ever.
28 For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. The righteous shall be preserved for ever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell upon it for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
32 The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him.
33 The LORD will not abandon him to his power, or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.
34 Wait for the LORD, and keep to his way, and he will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the wicked.
35 I have seen a wicked man overbearing, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 Again I passed by, and, lo, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright, for there is posterity for the man of peace.
38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the posterity of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their refuge in the time of trouble.
40 The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked, and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
THE SECRET OF SPIRITUAL COHERENCE
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Gal. vi. 14
When a man is first born again, he becomes incoherent, there is an amount of unrelated emotion about him, unrelated phases of external things. In the apostle Paul there was a strong steady coherence underneath, consequently he could let his external life change as it liked and it did not distress him because he was rooted and grounded in God. Most of us are not spiritually coherent because we are more concerned about being coherent externally. Paul lived in the basement; the coherent critics live in the upper story of the external statement of things, and the two do not begin to touch each other. Paul’s consistency was down in the fundamentals. The great basis of his coherence was the agony of God in the Redemption of the world, viz., the Cross of Jesus Christ.
Re-state to yourself what you believe, then do away with as much of it as possible, and get back to the bedrock of the Cross of Christ. In external history the Cross is an infinitesimal thing; from the Bible point of view it is of more importance than all the empires of the world. If we get away from brooding on the tragedy of God upon the Cross in our preaching, it produces nothing. It does not convey the energy of God to man; it may be interesting but it has no power. But preach the Cross, and the energy of God is let loose. “It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” “We preach Christ crucified.”

Call to Arms in South Carolina from a retired officer.
‘It’s about to get Kinetic!’
I’ve been very worried about all those weapons and ammo. stocked around Federal Agencies during GW Bush & ramped up during O-.
Where are those weapons today?
Are they inventoried?
How are they stored?
What are the politics of the people in charge of them?
While Antifa roams freely!
What is happening when Antifa are distracting us with pointless mayhem? Is it a distraction?
We are in a coup, do not underestimate the enemy.
I really believe that is where Antifa got their weapons.
I haven’t seen those weapons in antifa’s hands – yet. I’m not doubting that they could be placed there.
I’ve always found it odd that the Federal government under obama bought so much ammunition that it caused shortages, and price spikes, to citizens, but when I spoke to my some of my ‘operator’ contacts (serious people), they were always short of ammunition for training.
It makes one wonder if if it was stockpiled for something like antifa or if it was skimmed and laundered like most of the rest of taxpayer dollars.
Remember in Portland, Oregon, during the takeover, when the antifa guy pulled up in some expensive car, opened the hold, and started passing out AR 15, or something? He had a trunkfull and nobody bothered to look into it I don’t think.
That was in Seattle at the chaz, chop, chumps. Later arrested and has disappeared. Funded by a Sorazz group. Committed felony crime on tape and nada from comrade innslee or the powers that be. Hmm makes you wonder?
Yes, you are absolutely right. My mind is more like a basket than a filing cabinet. Yeah, it does make you wonder.
I very highly recommend everyone read the 22nd Psalm and use it as a prayer! So apt for the feelings installed by this so called election. Pray and keep your faith.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

A little obscure history of the Battle of the Bulge: It is the interesting story of Cobra King! The first tank into Bastogne.
This is a photo https://www.strategypage.com/military_photos/200912230407.aspx
taken at Bastogne, Belgium of the first US tank from Patton’s forces to enter the town lifting the siege of the 101st Abn Division and other units that were surrounded in that town during the Battle of the Bulge.
Cobra King was a specially modified limited version of the M4 Sherman tank. These specially modified tanks had extra armor plate welded on them when manufactured and were called “jumbos”. They were typically used to lead an assault. Cobra King led three other tanks into the town against very stiff German resistance. These four tanks were all from Co. C, 37th Tank Bn., CCR (Combat Command Romeo) of the 4th Armored Div. CCR was commanded by then Lt. Col. Creigton Abrams. (The current M-1 main battle tank in are Army is named after this officer). The thin single road corridor was cut by a German counter attack for a short time but was opened for good in a few hours.
Notice the short barreled 75 mm main gun which was the standard main weapon for M-4 Sherman tanks of this period. Also notice the little plate extensions on the tracks of the Cobra King. These were called “duck bills” and they were added on to the tracks of the tanks for better performance in snow and ice or marshy ground. The addition of those “duck bills” and improvements in the suspension and power plant used for the M4 Sherman tanks is what made it possible to add significantly more frontal armor to the tank without
Cobra Kings history didn’t end at Bastogne. The tank was part of the infamous “Task Force Baum”. This task force, secretly put together by Patton had the mission of penetrating 50 miles behind enemy lines in an attempt to liberate POWs, including Patton’s son inlaw held in Stalag XIII-B near Hammelburg. IMO this action is the one, above all others, that Patton deserved censure for. The camp wasn’t even in the 3rd Army’s area of operations. Though they reached the camp, they failed to be able to make it back to friendly lines and Cobra King was lost in the attempt. It was salvaged as just another damaged M-4 and since it was late in the war no attempt at making it operational again was attempted.
There were about 50,000 M-4 Sherman tanks or variants produced during WW II and it remained the primary battle tank for US, British, Free French forces, and some other allies from it’s introduction in the middle of 1942 until the end of WW II. Unless your a real WW II history buff you probably don’t know that when the Russians made the long advance into Czechoslovakia they did not use their famous T-34 tanks but instead used lend lease M-4 tanks because their own tanks were just not suitable for the long runs. In fact every bit of mechanized transport they used for that campaign was made in the USA.
Of all the M-4 Sherman tanks of WW II Cobra King is the most historic of all and for over 20 years historians labored long and hard to try and find if it survived. Finally Cobra King was found in May 2001 still standing post as a monument tank at an Army post in Vilseck, Germany. It had been missed so many times before because the registration number on the tank was wrong, having been changed at some time during it’s many re-paintings over the decades. But further investigation by Army Chaplain Keith Goode discovered that the stamped serial numbers on the tank matched that of Cobra King.
After a long process of cleaning work to get through required procedures for export, the tank was finally on it’s way to the Patton Armor Museum at Ft. Knox, KY for full restoration. This is what it looked like then https://www.army.mil/article/22737/historic_cobra_king_heads_to_new_home_in_patton_museum
You will notice that it had been retrofitted with a long barreled 76 mm gun which in the later stages of the war the majority of M-4 received. Though this gun still did not have the power to penetrate the frontal Armor of the German Mk-5 Panther or mk-6 Tiger tanks, it could at least penetrate the frontal armor of the Mk-4, which was the most common enemy tank it encountered, Don’t be fooled by this photograph. Cobra King was not in as nearly as good condition as it appeared.
It took a year of dedicated work at the Patton Armor Museum at Ft. Knox to bring Cobra King back to life. The Army, in it’s infinite wisdom has since changed the Museum at Ft. Knox into the Patton Museum of Military Leadership and shipped all of the considerable collection of Tanks from the Museum at Ft. Knox where all tankers are trained to a new Calvary and Armor Museum at Ft. Benning, GA. This despite the fact that Ft. Benning’s heritage is that of the home of the Infantry and the Airborne and was never considered the home of the Calvary or Armor.
But Ft. Benning is where one will now have to go to see Cobra King and almost all the other historic tanks that once sat at the Patton Museum. The other US Army installation where one can view a very extensive collection of historic armor. both US and that of former enemies, and in fact about every other kind of weapon the US Army ever issued, is the US Army Ordinance Museum at Aberdeen.
Much has been written about the failings of the M-4 Sherman tank and most of those who read WW II history and study this kind of material believe that it was a travesty that the US did not field a heavier and more survivable tank after the Normandy invasion. These people argue that the heavier M 26 Pershing tank was available and it’s production and deployment in Europe should have been expedited to counter the excellent Panther and good heavy Tiger tanks that our forces faced in their march across Europe. Also the German hand held Panzerfaust https://www.worldwar2aces.com/panzerfaust.htm antitank rocket launcher was very effective against the relatively lightly armored M-4 Sherman.
I am not one that agrees with these critics for several reasons.
1. LOGISTICS is the key to winning frontal warfare. Unlike the Soviets and Germans, every tank, every spare part, every piece of ammunition the US used in battle had to be transported by ship across the oceans. The M-4 Sherman was specifically designed with this in mind, taking into account the lifting capacity at various ports and the need to be used for amphibious assualt. It was months after the Normandy invasion before the allies had a decent port with heavy lift capabilities on the European mainland. Until then almost all the tanks had to brought over the channel by LSTs, LSMs, and other assault craft that allowed the tank to drive off the ship onto the shore or the structure of the surviving Mulberry man made harbor. Neither the Germans nor Soviets had to contend with anything like the logistical problems the Arsenal of Democracy did. And the logistical situation in the Pacific, where Armored Divisions would be required in the event of the invasion of the Japanese home islands was even more daunting.
2. The Panzerfaust was such a powerful antitank rocket that it could penetrate the Armor of the heaviest tanks in service in WW II including the German Tiger tank. So what is the point? The Sherman was faster and more manuverable than any of the other heavier tanks and thus properly handled with infantry support was less vulnerable to that weapon than a heavier slower less manuverable tank would be.
3. The M-4 Sherman proved to be the most reliable, flexible, fastest, and mauverable medium tank produced by ANY of the beligerants during WWII. In fact even the Soviets used lend lease M-4s instead of the their much vaunted T-34 in their long penetrating attacks into Austria towards the end of the war because of it’s speed and reliability.
4. The M-4 Sherman was never intended to be primarily used in tank to tank armored battle. US doctrine called for the M-10 Tank Destroyer to be the weapon that would neutralize enemy tanks. The Sherman from the start was conceived and built as an infantry support tank working in a combined arms attack with infantry and artillery. For this reason it was made relatively fast, manuverable, and reliable, and adaptable for different situations. It was made to cross bridges constructed by engineers where a heavier tank would require a whole lot more work and thus time for the bridging needed to acommodate it’s heavier weight.
My major criticism is that the M-26 Pershing which could and did successfully take on the German Tiger and Panther tanks head to head late in the war could have been deployed along side the M-4 Sherman tanks months earlier than it was if proper emphasis had been given to it’s development, manufacture, and deployment. But even in that event, because of the realities of logistics at the time, the earliest the Pershing could have been brought into action in Europe would have been after the port at Antwerp was opened and the Allied units had been resupplied after the long hard drive across France.
Of course most folks who get into this kind of stuff disagree with me on most points about Sherman.
You’re right, rah – I do disagree with you on the Sherman, but I’m also not a fan of the M26 or any of its improvements and iterations through the M-60 series.
But I’m also glad that we’re on the same side!
