holder-testifyFACT:  Eric Holder approved and affirmed a phone records subpoena claiming Fox News journalist, James Rosen, was an unindicted co-conspirator to domestic terrorism charges.  He then went judge shopping to get the subpoenas validated;  two judges said NO, the 3rd agreed to approve.   Holder said after reading about it in the Washington Post he regrets doing it.

“with regard to potential prosecution of the press for disclosure of material, that is not something that I have ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be a wise policy.”

A flat out lie.  No if’s, and’s, or but’s about it.   He was “involved in”;  He had “heard of”; and he did “think it was a wise policy”;  After all, he approved it.

But a few days later, news reports showed that Holder personally sought surveillance of a Fox News reporter under the grounds that he had possibly broken the law. Two judges rejected the requested, but a third approved the surveillance.

That statement prompted members of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday to announce an investigation of Holder’s apparent denial of a personal role in the investigation.  (read more)
