Today we celebrate the birthday of Sharon, our soon to be famous author of the Mailbox and Old Barns posts that we all love so much on Sunday mornings. She generously shares her memories and lessons from her earlier years on a Montana farm, providing us with one of the Tree’s most popular and well loved features. Sharon has that rare gift-the ability to paint glorious word pictures, putting the reader right in the middle of the story. Soon she will have a book of those stories to share with us.
While you are exploring the Tree you may stop in the Chapel, looking for a bit of peace, or perhaps a little wisdom and strength to build you up. Sharon spends time in the Chapel, and we are all the richer for it. You will find many offerings to soothe the soul there and she is truly the heart and soul of our Chapel – she shares the light with us when we awake on dark days.
Her work in the Tree as an admin is done with a depth of wisdom and commitment that makes us a richer, stronger group.
She provides the goodies to go with all that bacon WeeWeed throws out. Sharon makes the best fruit preserves, jellies and pies, all home made in her very own kitchen. Growing season is underway, and soon we’ll have some treats in the mornings, made with the fruits and berries she loves so much. She saves time to cook the fish her husband and son bring home from their frequent fishing trips. (Hint: send favorite fish recipes to Sharon!) When she isn’t busy in the Tree, or cooking her favorite treats, Sharon spends time with her family watching her granddaughter play championship soccer. And last but not least, her love for books.
Sharon is a voracious reader. You didn’t think she got so smart and wise without effort did you? Mention a great book, and she may have it on her shelf. If she doesn’t, chances are she may soon have to make a place for it.
Happy birthday Sharon. May your day be blessed, filled with the company of your friends and family, and as special as you are. We are happy to share it with you.
Now hurry and cut the cake-we’re all hungry after thinking about those pies!
