If you watch that whole news conference, there are many very important things that the president revealed. Go back and watch it again and pay attention.

Biden was getting red in the face over those few (actual) journalistic questions that weren’t half as probing so I imagine that Merrick Garland, in this situation, would have classed most journalists as domestic terrorists. He wouldn’t have been far wrong, but the point is that Trump has been through the fire with these people and it’s almost like water off a duck’s back for him now.

I love Trump, but am tired of the no tax on social security, tips & OT praise. In truth, since i just had my taxes done, my OT is taxed, whats allowed is the half hour in the time & a half OT hour. I did get the 6k deduction being over 65 which was good because after the OT tossed me into the next tax bracket, the 6k deduction brought my taxable income back down to where i broke even. The no tax on social security did NOT pass, only the 6k deduction, and all 3 go away in 2028. He knows this and after we all get our taxes done, the public will too. I just wish he would stop praising it because its NOT permanent, and there IS tax on OT & social security.
Your OT that was taxed needs to be calculated by whoever is doing your taxes and the taxed OT will be refunded to you. Your last 2025 check stub will show your year to date OT pay.
Next year on your W2 it will have a box for it. This year does not have the box on the W2.

Thanks for the tips, pun intended. I remember the days when I could file my own tax returns. That was about forty years ago. Since then, life and tax laws have gotten a bit more complicated.
Filing your own taxes these days is akin to representing yourself in a court of law: You had better know exactly who you are hiring.
I went to my accountant who has been doing my tax for years. I had my last stub, that showed my OT. According to the way the bill was passed, for each hour of OT worked, which is time & a half, its only a half hour that is not taxed, the other half hour is taxed. I assumed no tax on OT meant no tax. It does not. And there IS tax on social security, all we got was a 6k additional deduction that goes away in 2028, and the no tax on tips has a max that can be claimed, and that too goes away in 2028.
Exactly! I read the tax code special rules & found mine -which was all overtime worked during the tax year qualifying as deductable 💸💵 🎉
