DOGE has slashed $214 billion from federal spending in less than a year

It seems big until you realize there are 1,000 billion in a trillion.
Our annual budget averaged over the last ten years is $5.74 trillion.
Annual federal revenue averaged over the last 10 years is $3.65 trillion.
Average added to the debt over the last ten years is $1.13 trillion. (1,130 billion)
$214 billion is a drop in the bucket that the leak is getting continually bigger. I am all for the reduction but we have to do better.
Musk wanted to eliminate $1 trillion a year in spending. That would have still kept adding to the deficit but at a much slower rate. It’s why Musk got so frustrated and I can’t blame him. This country is financially insane.
The donors are financially insane but these are the same people that think replacing their customers with AI is good business.

I do not always perform a light hearted psychiatric evaluation of our digital colony, but when I do I find a fascinating case of collective epistemic overachieving. While the rest of the internet is stuck in the ‘Plato’s Cave’ of 24-hour news cycles, watching the flickering shadows of talking heads, we’ve decided to move our lawn chairs directly into the light and then complain that the light isn’t light enough.
If a newcomer wandered into the Treehouse today, they’d think they’d stumbled into a group therapy session for forensic librarians. It’s a place where we treat the Big Ugly with the clinical detachment of a surgeon and a sunset with the mystical devotion of a transcendentalist philosopher. It’s time we acknowledge the hyper systemizing quirks of our own habits.
First we have to talk about our leader. Most people have a favorite blogger; we have a High Tech Sage. While the rest of the world is wandering around the swamp lost in the fog, Sundance emerges from the mist like a digital Moses. But instead of stone tablets carved by lightning, he descends from the mountain with 400-page PDFs and archived metadata.
He says, “Look upon these spreadsheets, for they are the truth,” and we all lean in, squinting at our screens, trying to find the burning bush hidden in a footnote about a budget reconciliation bill. It’s the only community where ‘behold the FOIA results’ is met with the same reverence as ‘Let my people go’.
When a new thread drops most of us initiate a specific behavioral urgency. Phones vibrate across three time zones. Keyboards clatter like suppressed gunfire. Somewhere in Montana a coffee cup is knocked over while in Georgia a baby wonders why his mother ran out of the room. These are our first responders. Many of which have, repetitive stress finger injuries from hitting the refresh button too often.
We also have our scouts whose primary function is to act as a high-speed relay station for Twitter. The moment a post hits the X-sphere they have it linked, and pasted into the branches. It’s a form of epistemic foraging that allows us to ping the depths of our arch enemy, the Deep State.
We don’t just read a post; we dissect it. Most people see a typo in a government document and think the intern forgot to spellcheck. Not us. We see a misplaced comma and spend six hours discussing if it’s a coded signal to the coastal elites or a tactical breadcrumb left by a white hat in the basement of the GAO. Some might call this pattern recognition gone rouge, but we call it seeing the fog machine while everyone else is looking at the fog. On those rare occasions where the data is so dense that even our collective mind can’t find the pattern, we pivot with the grace of a Zen master and simply say look to the horizon. It’s our philosophical get out of jail free card.
Then comes the Great Amen Corner, once we are on the trail the chiming in commences with the synchronized precision of a digital Blue Angels flight squadron. It’s a rhythmic choreography of collective nodding where we repeat the day’s lesson back to each other like a high-speed liturgy. If Ms Sunshine mentions she smells something fishy in DC, within minutes two hundred people are sniffing their monitors and reporting back that they, too, detect a hint of swamp-rot. Some might unknowingly call this confirmation bias, however we know it for what is really is, tribal validation at its finest.
We must also address our community’s immunological response to trolls. When a provocateur wanders into the branches, we don’t just argue; we perform a collective ostracization ritual. Rather like a weed in a prize-winning garden it is mulched over it until it can no longer be seen.
Lastly we have famously mastered the art of the emotional whiplash with what Mrs Freedom Ring refers to as the Apolcalypse and Apple Pie Paradox. Our comment threads are the only place on the internet where you will see User A stating “The entire global fiat currency system is being dismantled by shadowy cabals as we speak.” With a response from User B, : Spot on, Patriot. Anyway, my roses are really looking good this morning. Has anyone tried putting eggshells in the soil? Love to all!”
Final Diagnosis: Chronic Hyper-Linguistic Pattern Recognition with a secondary presenting symptom of Selective Zen coupled with Acute Tactical Mindfulness.
We are a high-functioning tribe of spreadsheet mystics and forensic gardeners who are cold angered by the data but warm hearted by the mulch. Thanks in part to Bjorkdream and Wordman we somehow manage to maintain our psychiatric resilience while holding the line. We’ve collectively weaponized our OCD to track the Big Ugly. Most importantly we see connections the rest of the world dismisses as coincidence and we remember things the media prays we’ll forget.

Then he will notice it often with deep gratitude, acknowledging what God has brought about and be strengthened, knowing the work is solid.

An eloquent tribute, Sharon. We regulars know him through his work, his oft posted prayers, and his emotions which he generally withholds but at times slip into his commentaries. But through you, his long time friend, and your testament, we know him better. There is much said in brevity…and much that doesn’t need to be because we can read between the lines.

I have more disdain for a uniparty republican than a democrat because at least with the democrat you have a chance to defend yourself e.g. you know the shitshow they will bring and one can adjust accordingly. George W Bush appointing Alito to the Supreme Court was also a complete fluke because he originally wanted his lawyer, Harriet Miers, to become his new Supreme Court justice.
The biggest mystery to me is why George W Bush thought it was a good idea to appoint a complete newbie like John Roberts to become the new Chief Justice instead of someone with far more seniority like Clarence Thomas. George W Bush had no idea if John Roberts would transform into another David Souter so wasn’t it completely irresponsible and risky for him to make Roberts the next Chief of the Supreme Court?
Common sense would dictate that a reliable conservative judge like Clarence Thomas who had already served 14 years at the Supreme Court since October 23, 1991, should have become our new Chief Justice but instead newbie John Roberts directly gets handed the seat of Chief Justice on September 29, 2005.

Kavanaugh’s opinion is just filler because he wants to waste time by acting like an academic professor instead of simply joining Alito’s common sense dissent. This is why I sometimes feel law professors do not make for good judges, much less Supreme Court justices.

The District Court also erred in refusing to afford any deference to the President’s determination that calling up the National Guard was needed to execute federal law. The most directly relevant Supreme Court precedent suggests that such a determination must be accepted by the courts. In Martin v. Mott, 12 Wheat. 19, 28 (1827), a militia member argued, among other things, that the standard for calling up the militia under the law in force at the time had not been met. See Act of Feb. 28, 1795, 1 Stat. 424. Section 1 of that law governed use of the militia when the country is invaded or threatened with invasion, and §2, much like §12406(3), authorized use of the militia when “the execution” of federal law is obstructed. Addressing the §1 standard, Justice Story’s opinion for the unanimous Court held that “the authority to decide whether the exigency has arisen . . . belongs exclusively to the President.” 12 Wheat., at 30. “[H]is decision,” the Court held, “is conclusive,” and therefore, application of the statute depends only on “his own judgment of the facts.” Id., at 30, 33; see also Luther v. The District Court gave no weight to this precedent. It saw Martin as a relic, viewed its express holding as limited to the particular facts of the case, and thought it had been superseded by more recent political-question decisions. Such treatment of a Supreme Court precedent that has never been overruled, narrowed, or questioned by this Court was inappropriate. See Mallory v. Norfolk Southern R. Co., 600 U. S. 122, 136 (2023).
Even if Martin does not dictate judicial acceptance of a President’s decision to call up the National Guard, both that precedent and a humble appreciation of the role of a single federal judge surely demanded that such a Presidential determination be given a modicum of deference. The District Court afforded none.
For these reasons, the District Court appears to have misunderstood what the law requires, and those legal errors alone justify a stay.

Who’s Side is the DOJ on?
In response to congressional demands to release “all of the Epstein files,” the DOJ started releasing thousands of documents and photos last Friday.
FOR THE RECORD:
Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago the minute her learned of Epstein’s crimes many years ago. Trump order the release of the files long before Congress did. The Trump DOJ filed for the “sealed documents” twice and was turned down by a Clinton appointed Federal Judge twice. This is why Congress had to act to get the files released. It was also Trump who had Epstein and Maxwell arrested and prosecuted for their crimes, and democrats who kept the files buried for four years under a Biden Administration!
But instead of eliminating reports from the file that the DOJ knows are false and misleading, they are releasing even false and misleading parts of the file that were intentionally dumped into the files for the purpose of damaging Trump during his reelection bid in 2020.
This causes me to ask two very critical questions about this document dump…
1. If the DOJ knows that this information is false, and was intentionally dumped into the files as yet another “fake news” assault on President Trump and nothing more, why did the DOJ allow these false reports to remain in the file as if the information was legitimate?
2. If the DOJ knows this information is false and was intentionally dumped into the Epstein files by political operatives for political purposes, they must also know who dumped this garbage into the file. Who dumped the false information into the file, where are they now, and have they been charged with providing false information in an ongoing criminal case?
Democrats have been “leaking” false information targeting Trump for ten years now. They have “leaked” false information about Trump and Epstein before the DOJ could even release the actual files. It’s just another “Russian Collusion” operation by the Democrat Party.
So, why is the DOJ knowingly released “false” information in the file alongside “true” information in the file, as if the truth and the lie are equally important parts of this case?
Do they really think the leftist news media and the thousands of paid DNC social media trolls care about the DOJ disclaimer identifying the information as “false?”
Democrats and the social media parrots have never cared about what’s true, they only care about what they can use to undermine and destroy Trump, MAGA, and the USA.
Democrats are and will continue to use “false information” to target Trump, MAGA and the USA with zero regard for which parts of the file are true, and which parts are false… The DOJ disclaimer means absolutely nothing to them!
Meanwhile, you won’t find even one news outlet or social media troll targeting Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, or the laundry list of accused pedophiles from these files. They will focus 100% of attention on Trump, who was never on Epstein’s Pedo Island, or engaged in any Epstein crimes.
Just so you know, the times Trump ride-shared on Epstein’s plane was in the early 90s, between Palm Beach and NYC, where both had homes and offices. Epstein didn’t even purchase Pedo Island until 1998….years after Trump banned Epstein anywhere near him!
Over a 40-year period, Epstein had his picture taken with literally thousands of high-profile people, and numerous public events. I’ve even seen DNC paid trolls post innocent pictures of Trump and his daughter, claiming his daughter was one of the young victims trafficked by Epstein. I’ve seen a flood of photoshopped images making similar claims, showing Trump with adult women during the time he owned a beauty pageant, totally unrelated to Epstein crimes.
The LEFT will use every false image or claim available to target Trump. So, why is the DOJ releasing information they have already determined to be false, regarding Trump accusations?
Who doctored the file with false allegations, where are they now and why are they not being prosecuted for providing false information in the criminal case?
How much longer are “We the People” going to tolerate this utter insanity from our government agencies, the news media and social media trolls, all of whom know they are spreading outright lies???
