Well, a lot to digest but it strikes me that John Brennan, an avid communist, could easily make a deal with this Venezuelan Serbian Chinese election cabal to turn over world governments to the left. But, Byrne saying something happened is not proof. He seems to be a bit self important in that he claims he knows about so much yet didn’t provide or even say he has proof of his claims.
His story is interesting and likely has elements of truth but my impression is that he was used because his penchant for telling these stories makes people uncomfortable. The way he comes across makes one want to know more, but Stephan Gardner didn’t really dive deeper into actual proof. Byrne appears to be the perfect foil to use because even if he offers proof, people are unlikely to take him seriously.
Maybe I’m wrong but Byrne being “involved” and knowing the plots behind all the things he claims just seems too good to be true for uncovering the deep state. Too good to be true most often means it is not.

I just finished the book, “The Way of Kings”. In it, there’s an interesting philosophical experiment carried out by one of the female main characters. She walks down a dark alley at night where people have been attacked, waits to be attacked, then, when attacked, uses her powers to execute the four would-be criminals by blowing them up. Or, in one case, turning him into a crystal statue.
Through the characters, the author takes his time weighing the legal, moral, and ethical issues as the main characters settle on the principle that doing an evil thing to achieve a positive societal end is the right answer.
But it’s hardly a slam dunk argument made by the two people involved.

I wouldn’t make the mistake of assuming this is what we are told it is. Seems more like a video made for public consumption probably intended to frighten other smugglers. Which is fine, btw, if it has deterrent effects and was done for show. The video is also intended to get people to switch off their brains, drop into visceral video game mode, and get excited about extrajudicial killings again.
On the other side, the people pushing bizarre defenses of “the Maryland man” brought this on themselves. By corrupting and debasing our legal system to protect known criminals, they’ve turned the rest of us into supporters of “Well, just kill them, and avoid the judge altogether” policies. Wyatt Earp ran into this problem in the 1870’s and said a judge at the time told him maybe just make sure the bodies are never found next time.
Since we know that the USCG is intercepting and seizing drug shipments, why was this one blown up rather than disabled and boarded? I think that’s a fair question to ask. What made this boat a target for destruction and other boats simply get boarded by the USCG? Nobody doubts the US can send a UAV over open water to blow up a small boat in a clear day. Are we worried the drug cartels won’t realize we’re blowing up their shipments with missiles fired from drones? It’s not like they won’t figure that out. That means the video was probably created for our consumption, not theirs.
Also, since drug smugglers smuggle people, often at the same time, how do we avoid blowing up boats smuggling drugs AND women and children? I think that’s a fair legal, moral, and ethical question.
Wouldn’t we be better served aiming those missiles at the production facilities and taking out drug cartel leadership? Who decides “board vs. bomb”?

If there was a legitimate military reason for killing people over capturing them, I would like to know what that is. Tell the courts we’re simply not going to let partisans and enemies of this country wearing robes put foreign terrorists and criminals back on the street in service of Democrat Party politics and fundraising (drug money/bribes). This video is just very strange. People cheering men being burned alive is creepy and sick. They did not pose an imminent threat to anyone that simply boarding the boat, arresting the criminals, and seizing the drugs wouldn’t have solved.
My guess is that the “more to it” is we’re being prepared for a land war in Mexico and Central/South America. This video is just the government trying to get people used to the idea. And it’s a message meant for the judges and lawyers that the work-around to their corrupt system is that we’ll just call everybody terrorists and shoot first.
I understand why you are taking this tack again, the same tack you took with the bombings in Iran: A close family member is currently on active duty. When it comes to narcoterrorists, there is no more pussyfooting around.
And does your “not pussyfooting around” strategy include extrajudicial killings on US soil, or do you arbitrarily limit drone strikes to (presumably) open water? And why Venezuela and not Mexico? Can and should we blow up cargo ships from China if there are fentanyl components claimed to be mixed in with the cargo? Why are we launching expensive missiles at Amazon delivery boats and not the giant warehouse from which the delivery boats originated? Should Congress be required to declare war?
The central argument I made about Iran, which is being proven right, is that bombing the mountain a) wouldn’t fully work, b) would lead to calls for more bombings, and c) reports that Iran is “days away” from a nuke would return in about a year.
My central question then, as now, is “and then what?”

I prefer the direct approach of bombing the boat. It solves a lot of problems in a quick decisive way. I’m not happy about people being blown up but in the long long term it will save more lives than it takes. And what about all the lives being lost to drug addiction? It sends a big message to drug runners that that there is a very real possibility of dying. That is a deterrent as long as it’s carried out relentlessly and diligently. It won’t take long before there will be no more boats of drugs coming out of Venezuela loaded with drugs bound for the US. Of course they will find other ways to do this to lessen their exposure. They will not stop but if you do nothing you are basically handing the country over to the drug runners and make it easy for them. These are not American citizens being killed without trial. They are foreign terrorists being taken out in an act of war. There is no expensive trial and no risk to law enforcement officers and it works. Justice for American citizens. Consideration for allies and friends of the US. But enemies of America that participate in killing Americans need to get killed.

After much study the last month or so, I’ve concluded that narcoterrorism is much worse than anyone realizes, especially here in Canada. When you follow it up the chain it is CCP that is at the top of the heap and I believe is knowing and purposefully engaging in the drug trade and money laundering both for the income it produces and to destroy the west, in particular it’s main rival the United States.
I’m sure this attack on the drug boat is just the beginning. If the US uses their military against narcoterrosim they will be toast. I agree with what you are saying here but I still see that the Trump administration’s focus on transnational organized crime will benefit Canada in the long term first and foremost because it is putting the spotlight on it. Canada is very quickly being infiltrated by transnational organized crime to an alarming degree and it is getting worse especially in the last few years. The average Canadian is oblivious to it and in complete denial. Declaring cartels to be terrorist organizations was the first step. Involving the military in the fight against them was the second step.

It’s all true and I believe much worse than is being reported. There are a few Canadians reporting on this but by and large Canadians have their head in the sand. Canada needs to wake up and work with America to fight this. Canada doesn’t even have anti racketeering laws.
