True story. A few years before he passed, my dad and I were bass fishing on Beautiful Lake Catherine. The early fall day perfectly matched the physical beauty that we were experiencing. I don’t think the bass were biting that day—I hadn’t even gotten a small strike.
Didn’t matter. Not to me. I was just enjoying my dad’s company. In that perfect setting, a perfect fathere/son moment . . . I put my rod down (a gift from my dad—outfitted with a “proper Ambassador traditional_ reel—no fru-fru spinning reels for us real guys—).
“I want to tell you something.” My dad, a bit puzzled , looked up and waited . . . I smiled and said . . . “Everything you ever told me was true.” I wanted him to know I got it.

Tears nim. Horses do become friends with each other.
I had an old mare and she became friends with a younger mare. The younger mare went blind and the older horse let her put her nose on her hip and she would lead her around like a guide dog. They were friends until the young mare passed away and the old mare took care of the blind mare’s foal (we put a bell on the foal so her mom knew where she was) until the old mare passed away, and by then the foal was old enough to be trained and made friends with one of the other young foals in training.
I got a real education on unconditional love, no matter the handicaps, and what real caring is from watching my herd of horses.

Love this story. Had a mule and burro who took it upon themselves to guide a blind horse we had. Just came so naturally to them. I’d sit and watch them lead sweet Bailey to the water and food and let a tear slip down my face.

Good morning nim. I do not understand the sheer stupidity of people wanting to touch the wild Bison.
On my ranch, I raised 8 buffalo from calves for training my cutting horses in summer. They allowed my hands to go in their pasture to feed as they would follow them around like the cows. The hands did not try to tame them or touch them, they knew better. Once in awhile I would go out and sit on the pipe fence to fill their water trough and some of them would come close and lick my pant legs, but I never tried to touch them. They were still wild animals and I loved watching them.
My cutting horses, when young, were trained on buffalo, so they were used to the buffalo.

“Prayer to be made for all persons, since the grace of the gospel makes no difference of ranks or stations. (1-7) How men and women ought to behave, both in their religious and common life.” (8-15)
(1-7)) “The disciples of Christ must be praying people; all, without distinction of nation, sect, rank, or party. Our duty as Christians, is summed up in two words; godliness, that is, the right worshipping of God; and honesty, that is, good conduct toward all men. These must go together: we are not truly honest, if we are not godly, and do not render to God his due; and we are not truly godly, if not honest. What is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, we should abound in. There is one Mediator, and that Mediator gave himself a ransom for all. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Tim Daly, the character Joe in the casket, said this was his favorite “Wings” episode (a badly underated sitcom IMO) and they kept having to retake this scene because he was laughing so hard. Same for me while watching it.
The setup: the Kingsbury family is the most powerful and wealthy family on the island who bankrupted a previous small, shuttle air service like Joe’s just for losing track of their luggage for a very short time. Joe’s aircraft had been chartered to pick up the body of the head of the family from Florida, but they picked up the wrong body. The hearse was scheduled to come for the casket before that situation could be remedied, so from a photo they made up Joe to look like the old man with a plan to swap the old man’s corpse into the casket after the visitation while on its way to the hearse.

Soon after, a phone call with my mom regarding the continuing bad effects of their divorce caused me to clearly see and feel the true sadness of my family break-up, and I sobbed uncontrollably, finally releasing my pent-up feelings. I earnestly prayed to renew my relationship with Jesus/God and specifically and clearly asked for guidance for my life. A few weeks later, my future wife asked me what I really wanted to become. The answer came up out of me as if it had been there all along waiting to be acknowledged as though I had been hardwired to follow a course but was only then realizing it. From that point forward, all I needed to do was my best through the challenges and struggles that awaited me, and I was provided with the strength and support to succeed in a career and provide for my future family. During our wedding ceremony at the church, I was unexpectedly overcome by what I believe was the Holy Spirit, the power and intensity of which felt stronger than love. Witnessing my children being born granted a rare glimpse into the miracle and truth of creation, with no faith needed, and that love is the most powerful force on earth as I would give up my life, in an instant, without any hesitation, to protect my child and spouse. When each of two elderly family members passed away, there was a surprising sense of peace, a holy peace, that permeated the entire room at the moment of death, and for several minutes after, that all those present felt and acknowledged. Right after my mom’s funeral driving home, I received a clear, telepathic communication in her voice that said, “It’s okay honey, I’m alright”, which is exactly the way she would say it. Looking back, it is clear to me that a path was provided for my life that was beyond chance or self-realization. The contrast between before versus after renewing my relationship with Jesus/God and asking for guidance was too great to attribute to me alone or to random events.
