Israel Update:
I am sorry to see the wave of anti Israel and some antisemite propaganda with some of the “Conservative Influencers”. Yes, I know “saying something bad about Israel is not antisemitism”. LOL. I promise to clarify this subject in my future posts. I know that the subject requires clarifications. I am avoiding names now. Let me avoid hurting anyone’s feelings by saying anything bad about some Conservative “opinion leader”. LOL
I would like to address today something related. This is easier for me to address than the “Antisemite subject” which will require more research. They say that “Israel is not worth the investment”. Those are the polite few. Others say upright that “Israel is Satan”. (Or variations of it). One of you got my attention on the subject so I will now clarify once and for all the contribution of Israel to you. I mean your immediate survival and your family and nation.
This is a bit long but educational and it is only maybe 10% of what I could write.
Spiritual and Cultural:
Israel gave the world the Bible. How does it affect your life only you can tell.
But remember that also the belief in one God originated from Israel.
And the foundation of Judeo-Christian Morality started with the Ten Commandments.
Now yes, Jesus was Israeli. He spoke the same language that I speak. So one could say that Israel was the home and place from which Jesus came. Israel gave the world Jesus.
Yes, you can say that God gave him. But it was in Israel and from Israel. Now how does this affects you? again is a personal question.
Someone like me who speaks Hebrew and an Aramaic speaker and Old English had to translate all the teachings from the Old and new Testement. Otherwise you wouldn’t know any of it. He spoke Hebrew and Aramaic that is a similar language to Hebrew and was spoken then.
Let’s look at the US Capitol at the House Chamber: There is a statue of Moses giving the Ten Commandments.
The doors of the Supreme Courts have the Ten Commandments curved in.
Inscriptions, The Capitol Rotunda and Liberty of Congress contain phrases like:

So one could say that there is a cultural and religious influence from the Old Israel to the newer America. One could say that there is a spiritual connection that goes beyond material things.

Israel is known for its rapid response techniques which saves lives. Israeli hospitals developed analyzing and prioritizing system and field protocols now used by NATO and US Forces to save lives.
Development of cancer treatments. A breakthrough in Immunotherapy. It is called CAR-T.
Many more developments in this area. Things for Bladder cancer treatment and more.
IceSense3 – Freezes and destroyed breast cancer in early stages.
Israeli Medical startups and companies export to over 100 nations. Many American hospitals benefit from Israeli devices and protocols. And there is a long list from robotics that makes the paralyzed walk to special glasses that help the almost blind see.
Israel leads in Robotic surgery equipment. Spinal surgery system Mazor X and more. For spinal implants.
Microbot medical: Miniature robots that you insert into the body to make a minimally invasive surgery. Related to Gastronomy, Cardiology, urology.
XACT Robotics: Needle based to do biopsies etc…
Many more. If you ever need a Robotic surgery ask the doctor if the system is israeli?
The Flexible Stent was mainly an Israeli development. Used broadly to save lives in the field of cardiology and others. It opens blocked arteries and holds them open. A development of the renowned Dr. Rafael Beyar a Cardiologist from Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
Your Money:
It was an Israeli company who invented the cyber protection system now used by all banks and many institutions. When someone logs in for banking the system decide on level of risk and according to it would make it harder to log in or fully blocked. So if you live in the US and someone is trying to access from the UK the system will level it a high risk and act accordingly. There are red flags which are analyzed and used to protect your money.
Your Communications:
Some of the key Research and Development companies in the world from Intel, Google, Apple, Motorola etc… are in Israel.
While Israel didn’t not invent the Cellphone it did make it small enough and usable enough to be spread globally. It was done in the Motorola center in Israel. The same as to Text messaging, it was made usable and commercial through a company in Israel and the same as to voicemail.
As to the instant messaging on Wifi it was an Israeli invention. The foundation of Wahtup, Messenger, Telegram, etc…
The Flash Drive is an Israeli invention.
The Firewall that protects the security of every computer was developed mainly in israel.
Your driving and its safety:
A few decades ago we had a device that was mandatory on all taxis etc…
You would put it on the dashboard and it would alert you off you are about to bump into someone or something or if you’re going off the road. It was called MobileEye. The one day Intel bought this company for billions of dollars and it was all gone. Take a few years later and you have this system integrated in all the new cars. When you drive a new car and it alerts you that you’re going off the line, remember where this technology came from.
Drip irrigation was an Israeli invention so was the Cherry Tomato.
Military and Intelligence:
So here it is critical. This is where many American lives were saved and more will be saved in future conflicts. Here is where the US is becoming superior to its advisories. While WW3 and a direct threat to the US may not be real for you. There can be a day when you will thank God for what you have to be able to protect and win.
We all saw how the Russian tanks and vehicles were hunted by Ukraine shoulder missies.
Literally it is why Russia failed. But the IDF is operating in Gaza with tanks and vehicles and only suffered 450 casualties in a year and a half. The Israeli tanks have an active defense systems that identify incoming missile and shoot it in the air automatically. It’s not 100% but over 90%. Many Israeli tanks got hit 10 and more times and are still working because the explosions were outside. The Marins recently got this system and other US forces too.
This makes the difference between wining and losing.
Israel has advanced technology odd armor fore vehicles against IEDs. many of the US vehicles got the Israeli armors in Iraq and Afghanistan a many lives of US soldiers were saves.
I recently came across a Chief Engineer of one of the leading weapon companies in the US and he said that the Israelis provide information from the field that saves them trillions of dollars in their research and development.
The biggest risk is the Long Range ballistic missiles that could carry nukes.
Israel developed the leading missile protection with the Arrow 3 systems.
This was an Israeli development in collaboration with the US. The system showed some 90% success rate and after the last war Israel is working on the next generation. That will provide better success and the technology and missies will be available to guard your cities in a moment of need.
Israel is about to release the Laser Defense system. It will first intercept incoming short range missies, rockets and drones and later long range and offensive use. It count close to nothing to use. Whoever leads this technology will lead the world in terms if military power. The US gets access and will be ahead of all adversaries. The US will get it if it wants it.
Mossad: One of the best Intelligence agencies in the word if not the best. The US gets Intel as much as it needs from the Mossad. We just saw that Intel wins wars. We win in Lebanon and Iran in no small part due to Mossad. Mossad provides valuable Intel for the US.
A Democracy in the Middle East: Israel is the only Democracy in the Middle East. It is stable. Unlike dictatorships which tend to fall. It is on the US side with no games like the other players who try to be also close to China and Russia. It has equipment and munitions in Israel. It has an easy access if it needs to mobilize forces around.
I remember that I saw US soldiers land in Israel on their way to Iraq getting short courses to understand the mentality and culture of the enemies. The US is drilling with Israeli forces. Together it is stronger than the other players and alliances. While some may think that America First is America Only. This was also the frame of mind after the Great Depression and the US waited too long until it had no moral choices and joined the WW2. What can I say. The world is there and America must be stronger than the evil forces and able to have alliances that prevents a situation of large portion of the world in bad hands. Eventually it bites back. America First is also America smart and America Prepared and leads the West.

One single question can be genuine and innocent, or it can be loaded. And I think that’s the difference.
Sometimes people want to be nasty and they use the act of ‘just asking questions’ to pretend otherwise. (I’ve experienced this at work.) Other times, people genuinely want to know. You can’t always tell the difference – but a lot of times you can.
It also goes to the character of the person asking. For example, if Obama and Trump both asked the same question of Israel, you would know their intentions.
Sadly, that’s also true of some Treepers – which is one of the reasons I rarely visit anymore. I simply don’t need to add more antisemitism to my days. But the Open Thread is usually pretty good.

One only needs to look at the many, many Torah scholars right from day one, who would break down every verse, every letter, even to every letter shape/make up, in order to find the true meaning. As is part of our individualistic nature, each soul has his or her unique “take” on what they are perceiving, based on what their individual level is at that time. As knowledge/understanding, imparted ONLY via God, increases, (can also be taken away) – it becomes clearer and clearer that knowledge and understanding held by the ancients – also here and there through the centuries, far, far surpasses what most of us are able to grasp today. When you reference the history behind why Israel is God’s chosen people – I think back to the story of the exodus out of Egypt. When Moses had climbed the mountain to receive the Commandments from God and he returned to find the Israelites had erected the golden calf to worship. God was so ticked off. He told Moses He was going to kill off the Israelites and start anew with a remnant of Moses. Moses – with all of his courage and humility pushed gently back and asked God what sort of statement that would make to the likes of Pharoah, who God Had just saved the Israelites from? To save them, only to smite them? What relationship! What trust! What safety – to be able to say such thing to The Holy and Sovereign God. God relented. It was one of the first examples of intercessory prayer that I can recollect in the Bible. Moses’s reaction to the Israelites was similar to Jesus Christ’s reaction to us who convicted Him innocently onto that tree. Moses saved their lives. Christ saved all of our lives. I wish people remembered and respected it more. We owe an incredible debt of gratitude to one Righteous, Merciful, and Holy God. Blessings on you, friend.

Thank you for your understanding. I don’t oppose Israel at all – I stand with her people… especially in the retaliatory response to the 10/7 massacre. I am serious when I say that I do not hold any people as a whole responsible for the actions of a select few. I have an equal opportunity policy – I treat everyone equally badly – because “you do unto others as you would want them to do to you”. It would mortify me, to be personally held responsible for the sins of those who manufacture biological warfare… just because I am an American. I have my own sins – but I assure you – biological warfare and crimes against humanity are not one of them.
What I don’t believe in is “proxy” wars. If the USA is going to be in a war – be IN IT. Totally committed and totally up front about it. I don’t believe the United States should put a foot on the scale to tip the odds in one’s favor over another…. surreptitiously… or clandestinely. If a principle that we as Americans hold dear is violated egregiously – for instance a genocide is threatening to occur – then I think we posse up – unite – go kick some tyrannical ass – and stamp it down and out… and I mean gone! Gone the FIRST time with such fury that evil won’t dare to raise its ugly head again. It won’t dare!
If we are funding Iran by giving them pallet loads of cash delivered in the middle of the night under secrecy… and Iran uses that money to buy weapons and fund terrorism… used against us and our allies…. that is absolutely criminal. Criminal. And how many of the weapons that we are ponying up to fight in various regions end up sold on the Black Market and end up in the hands of drug cartels? To withhold so much from the American people – and then for us to be drinking from a fire hose learning how we, the American People, have been used as chumps this entire time – is sickening!!!! Stealing our hard-earned wages, our retirement money that we are forced to pay withheld from our pay checks (it’s not an elective), our blocking of access to legitimate and sound healthcare, the loss of safety and faith to entrust our children to the care and education of our schools…. is insulting, degrading, and a dishonor to so many families who have fought and died for the freedoms we claim to cherish and attribute to our Creator. There is nothing more wholesome that the United States Constitution that promotes peace, all men are created equal, and all have the right to the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. We should be enraptured by its goodness, and we should cling to it like precious gold -for to live without it – is slavery.
I think we can clearly see that our government flat-out was overtaken by a coup d’ etat, because they were funding things the United States taxpayer would never have agreed to… not ever. They haven’t balanced a budget in ages (since 2001) and they’ve been hiding legislation in pork barrel bills where you have to “pass the bill in order to know what’s in it” and holding our people hostage while enriching their pompous asses… which is total depravity. They’ve literally been stealing from us for so long – we are complacent about it. I’m at the point I just want to cut out the middle man and send me addresses to all the countries my money is going to, because apparently I have been adopted as a citizen in each one and I owe my fair share to my new sovereign nations!
For absolutely certain – 100 years from now – our ancestors are going to look back on the history of this generation and possibly the two before it – and see how psychological warfare was the overwhelming influence to this century. In this age of Truth is a lie and that which is called a lie is the Truth (which is entirely Scriptural Romans 1:18-32) – we can’t trust anyone anymore. The only thing that counters this – is if we shed the sunlight on it – purge the abscess – go through the sting of the cleansing – and then heal. Heal as nations, heal as people, and heal as God-given brothers and sisters.
I personally want everyone to be themselves. Let the Israeli be Israeli. Russian be Russian. Canadian be Canadian. Chinese be Chinese. This isn’t about America-first – America is my ONLY and I am partial to the land of my birth – as we all should be as long as we don’t live as slaves under tyranny.
If we happen to like some certain technology that you have that we would benefit from – then let us sit down and work out an active trade deal. If we have technology or goods that you appreciate – let’s make some deals. I don’t believe ANY country should have lobbyists with hands in our pockets (either giving or taking) to influence the laws in our country or the line items, nor do I think we have the right to impose our principles on anybody else. But, if you come to our country and want to live here – you give up your country and your embrace ours 100% – no more joint domicile.
I can’t speak for others – but speaking for myself – I don’t like it when I find out my government is pulling all kinds of shady shenanigans overthrowing governments, displacing dictators, installing sympaticos, manipulating masses of people through mind control to create “color revolutions”, Antifa, BLM, “LGBQ-I’m-in-a-zoo-how-’bout-you!” People are literally losing their minds.
You know – this whole thing about nations spying on each other – and it’s just “a given” – accept it!!! – well, that’s not legitimate. Trustworthy, healthy relationships, are built on honesty and TRUST. We should never trust anyone who’s willing to spy on us – not as nations, or as people. In my life, trust is earned and it’s precious. Spying, manipulation, and coercion is not the work of allies – it is the work of organized crime syndicates and none of those can be trusted.
Sorry for my long-winded rant. I asked you a question as a brother – what was your take on AIPAC? I know others have wondered what you thought… I think people are just too afraid to ask. I want AIPAC gone – I don’t want Israel to have to need it, nor do I want any American to feel pressured by it. Let the relationship in Truth and honesty – speak and work for itself. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

So, we spent yesterday fixing the “Goldilocks” paddock- that would be Louisa and May’s living quarters, because:
The one they’ve been confined to (per the vet) is too small. The next largest we have is too big. So, we bought more fencing and spent yesterday coming up with “just right!”
So, each morning beside soaking the hay and draining it before weighing, we rake the area of the ##$% mesquite beans. Cuts down on CTH time for sure!
But…….they are so much better! Praise the Lord!

Good afternoon Soaz. Here’s the update for those interested in the kitten situation. I will be doing the flea routine shortly and then they will have the run of the house, as the laundry room is too small now.
I will be keeping all until I can get them spayed and neutered. I will have three out of the seven to find homes for. My son is taking one and I will be keeping mom and three kittens. I will need names for the two, one is black with a little white chest and one looks like a bigger version of Percy, she’s dark with white belly and black markings on her belly and kinda swirling light and black and a little tawny markings on the rest of her. Both are females. What can I say, I knew I would end up keeping more than I originally wanted. I am just too soft I guess! The ones I am keeping climb into my lap every time I go in there to clean litter boxes and feed them.
Several keep escaping as soon as the door opens. Percy, Oliver and one little girl are just too quick for this senior. I then must go find where they’ve gone. Beau helps me as he follows them and just stares at these little fur balls and looks at me with that “what the heck are these creatures! They are brazen and just go right up to him and touch noses! Then he looks at me and tilts his head! Laugh out loud funny.
They continue to grow and act like they never get fed! I am wearing my old, very used tall cowboy boots now as these “senior” legs are scratched up pretty good and it keeps them from scratching my legs up even more!
There are several places close enough that offer spay and neuter clinics adjusted to your income and sometimes you can also get pro bono. We shall see, but my son has offered to pay for it when I find out when and where. Will keep you all updated.
I apologize for the length of this comment, but had a lot to tell you all.
Thanks to my late wife’s affectation for kitties, we had 7 for many years. They got along just fine, easily found quiet spaces in our 1800 sqft house, got along well with our 3 dogs, and were a pleasure to be around. Nothing wrong with providing shelter for 7 kitties . . . 🙂
Good evening Garrison. That makes me feel good all over. My house is a little larger than 1500 sqft. Plenty of windows for them to sit and watch the world outside. They won’t be going out because I do not want to provide the coyotes and other critters with snacks. I’ve got almost 8 acres of which half is woods.
I’ve got the whole house surrounded with a chain link fence for the dog, and he seems quite content with the space and has never tried to leave the yard or go through an open gate.

Love these updates! Yes, in my area there is a veterinary practice that actually contracts with the county to do free neuters. They keep them overnight and you pick them up the next day. It is for ferals and we respect that and bring in our ferals and then release them to our garage and barn. There is also another practice that charges a very small fee, which we also use.
You bring tears to my eyes thinking of what a stellar job you have done with these sweet kittens who would otherwise probably not have made it. God Bless You.

I wish people would spay and neuter their animals. It is so unfair for the little ones born because of the irresponsible people.
I have spayed and neutered every pet dog and cat I’ve ever owned or been gifted to by God, that has shown up at my ranch. Several were pregnant and after birthing, I got them spayed and the cats were caught and their kittens and spayed and neutered when old enough and they hung out in the barn.
I never had to worry about mice, rats or snakes in my barn.
I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
By the way, I’ve not seen any comments from Betsy yesterday or today, unless I just missed them. Saw the Caturday comments though. Hopefully she is all right.

My friends in tx and fl have mentioned theirs skyrocketing (for obvious reasons), but not sure exactly how much.

Nope. Mine went up about 15%, but that was appropriate because of the addition of the sun room and an extra wide attached two car garage with a 10′ covered concrete apron.
You might give Erie Insurance a try. They have very good ratings here in Indiana. I switched my renters and automobile to them after 25 plus years with State Farm. I received higher limits of liability for less money. I no longer own a home, but people that do also highly recommend them. They insure in the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington DC.

Good morning.
I’ve been considering getting a robotic mower to mow my acre when the time comes that my state of health get poor enough that I can no longer do it safely.
My lot is .99 acre and one that will do up to 1 1/4 acre costs about $3,500. That of course does not include maintenance like changing blades and such. They claim the mower senses uneven ground and things like exposed roots, which I have, and adjust mowing height appropriately to maintain an even cut.
Of course there would almost certainly be some week wacking to do even though they claim it trims very close to obstacles.
My other concern is if it could handle chopping up the leaves in the fall although perhaps it will cover the areas where the leaves fall often enough that they wouldn’t get too thick between mowings because the thing works 24/7 except when it’s docked in it’s charging station.
It would probably cost me about $90.00 to have someone mow it and they would do the weed wacking and trim the hedges also. So it would take several years for the mower to pay for itself.
Anyone here have any experience with these things?

Good afternoon Treepers.
I thought I would give an update on my health situation.
I have been getting radiation treatment’s and chemo again, which are going fairly well. As well as can be. Most days I dont feel too bad, other than the burns, which really only manifested recently. My breathing is still fairly decent. There has been no update to any timetable, and my oncologist says I’m responding well to the treatment. The cancer spots, of which there are 2, have shrunk, and they are not spreading. ( Fingers, toes crossed! )
My mental health is definitely taking a beating. As some of you know, its been a rough go for the last 5 years. The first cancer encounter, the horrible breakup, the ongoing litigation in court to do with that. Which will conclude in September. I see me coming out on the winning side of all that. My lawyer assures me, that we will win this case, without any doubt. He is the best money can buy and a friend. He told me to just concentrate on my health, leave the court nonsense to him. He told me he is the best in this town for a reason, let him perform and do his job. The Judge in my case? He has a 99 per cent winning percentage with. That is comforting. God is my go to, to keep myself sane, with everything that is going on. Im still here for a reason, and God spared me once already, from a death sentence.
Now comes the real kicker. 3.5 weeks ago, when I was still not all burnt up, I rode my Harley, to keep my mind in a good place. Wind Therapy is the best. So I was having a bad day, had just left my therapists office. I was riding down a 2 lane, 1 way street. I was approaching an intersection, in the left lane, there was a truck stopped at the red light. The light turned green as I was approaching on his left, but I noticed he didn’t move. So I geared down ( Thank God! ) let off the throttle, keeping an eye on him….I figured maybe he was on his phone, not paying attention.
All of a sudden as I was almost at his position, no signal, he pulls hard left, to turn left, and crossed the left lane in front of me. I had no time to hit the brakes, it happened that fast. I smoked his left fender, and catapulted over the truck. I dont remember the hit, I dont remember anything, until I woke up on the ground. Witnesses told me what happened. I was knocked out cold. Landed on my head.
When the Police arrived, he smelled like alcohol. They arrested him, tested him, he was double the limit! So he got charged for impaired, careless driving, improper lane change, and suspended, vehicle impounded.
I have 2 cracked ribs on my right side, road rash all down my right side, 10 stitches on my right knee, and my right leg, above the ankle, is mangled. Might need surgery, might be vascular damage. I can barely walk, I need help getting to the hospital everyday for my treatments. No broken bones but the slightly cracked ribs. My left side is a black bruise from my left calf, to the middle of my back and my butt cheeks are also black….I am in some serious pain, but like I told my doctor, its nothing compared to the throat cancer treatment, going on close to 5 years ago now…So the healing process is going to be long, because of my ongoing cancer treatments, my poor old body is taking a serious pummeling.
My beautiful Electra Glide Ultra Classic is a write off. I’m in the process of dealing with my insurance company, to get full replacement value, extras included.
I retained the best Injury Lawyers in the country, they are all over it. This guy is going to be sued 10 ways till Sunday. Its an open and shut case.
I just pray I’m still here, to collect the large settlement Ill get, because the leg injury, will be a lifetime injury, however long that may be. If something happens to me, ( which might very likely, be the case ) , my children will split the settlement.
So I sit here reading, and commenting, in a wheelchair my insurance company provided to get around the house.

I hope you are all well. So much going on these days, its hard to keep up. I’ve only commented a few times recently, I’m trying to take a break from the daily nonsense going on around us. I got enough on my plate, the world, and all that’s going on? Well sometimes, it has to take a back seat to my mental and physical health.

Go easy on the pain meds
-as time passes
and you’re healing has progressed.
example:
If it’s 1 dose/pill every 4 to 6 hours
-and you’re pain is very minimal,
-wait for the 6th hour
for the next dose. You can always take a 1/2 dose in between.
You go by how you feel. – of course.
Eventually, wait 7 hours, etc.
… to 1/2 a dose/ pill as necessary.
Have known a few people who innocently got hooked.
Have followed that regiment as caregiver to three people.
Each thought I was crazy -at first, but very soon we’re grateful/ happy because it worked well.
The goal is to minimize/ avoid pain.
Also, you may check with your doctor about 1 Tylenol and 1 dose of pain meds ( or 1 Tylenol and 1/2 dose of meds — as time passes).
-Eat and drink water with those meds❣️
Well, I have to be on strong pain meds now, for over 4 1/2 years. My neck and throat get very painful, after 6 hours. Feels like my throat is on fire, and I get muscle spasms in my neck, from the surgery. I lose my voice eventually, if I talk too much. This is never going away. My oncologist told me, its unfortunate, but where they had to cut me, paired with no saliva glands, that cause severe dry mouth, and having to cut so deep, my neck will always hurt, eventually. The pain meds only take the edge off, but it really never goes away. That treatment really did a number on my neck and throat area. I cannot swallow certain textures, and have to chew my food really well, and every bite has to be washed down with liquid of some sort. Or i will choke. Badly. My swallowing muscles are severely damaged, from the radiation.
With these injury’s from the motorcycle accident, I have cracked ribs, and let me tell ya, every time I move, breathe deep or cough, its not fun. My right leg though, is mangled. The throbbing is unreal. Its a crush injury. The throbbing makes me sweat after a while, and I can handle pain. Seeing the specialist on Thursday. An MRI is scheduled, because it isn’t healing, and the pain is 10/10, still. The home care Nurse figures there is vascular damage, as well as muscle damage. Might need surgery, as I said. My doctor upped my dosage to double for now, and trust me, I skip a pill or 2, all the time, if my throat doesn’t bother me. But more often than not, I really have no choice. I dont like being on opioids, but I’m pretty much immune to my dosage now. One dose doesn’t do much. I know I would get withdrawal sickness for sure. I notice when I skip a pill or 2, I dont feel that well.
Everything else has healed up, the road rash, on both arms and elbows, they removed the stitches from my right knee too. All that is only light pain now.
But my leg, my ribs and left hip are not doing well. Im 3 weeks out since the accident. Some of it isn’t healing as fast as it should. But I’m no spring chicken anymore either. We dont heal fast in our older years.
Believe me, the pain is such, that I need the strong meds. Im tough, but if it makes me sweat, then I must kill the pain. My doctor said the pain could stress my heart out too. I have high blood pressure as well. What isn’t wrong with me these days is a shorter list, that what isn’t….

Bob, when it rains, it pours. Just let what you can roll off and don’t let it get you down or dwell too much on it. Worrying won’t help at all and it won’t make anything better. I know, easier said than done.

You have friends here, Bob so it is always good to hear from you. Sorry about your bike (and you!!). All of my friends who are/were bikers have gotten bad hurt on their bikes (one almost lost both hands). My Ducati Desmo 350 was so much faster than me, that it scared the literal pee out of me. When that happened I immediately sold it. I much prefer 4 wheels. Be well, friend 🙂
I can say, without any doubt, when I recover, I will be riding again. If my health permits, of course. Been riding since I was 5. I used to race motocross until I was 15. My Dad was totally into it, he supplied and worked on all my bikes, 80CC, then 125 CC, 250CC. and my last one, a 500 CC. Its in my blood, and as any rider here knows, nothing matters when you are out on the open road, wind whistling through your body, the bike is a part of you. Wind Therapy does wonders for a cluttered mind and hurt soul. Its what has kept me sane for the last 13 months. Now? I miss out on my summer, and my depression and anxiety over the breakup and court stuff, is even worse, being unable to ride with my friends, and tour around our area…Ill be busy healing,, again, possible surgery on my leg, with rehab, plus my treatments. My plate is overflowing! LOL!
I already have one on hold at my local dealership. Just waiting for my parts guy to give me the list and prices for the chrome extras on my now wrecked bike. There are 38 chrome additions that aren’t stock. I wish I knew how to post pics here, because it was 25 years old, a Twin Cam 88, and it looked brand new. Not a mark of scratch on my baby. I got compliments all the time.
The Insurance claim Rep, is from my own company. I’m not at fault, I didn’t ask for this. I’m horribly injured too. The pics made my friends stomachs turn, 100 per cent, it looks bad. My Rep should be fighting tooth and nail for every single dollar I spent on it, period!!
This is what he tried to pull on me. He sent me the adjusters document, and all he had listed for extras, was the Vance and Hines pipes, and chrome grips!
I told him, does your guy know a thing about Harleys? Are you kidding me right now???
I told him, listen pal, and listen good. Those pipes alone are 2700 dollars. The grips are about 50 bucks. The half tinted windshield is also not stock. The rest of the chrome, 38 pieces in all, is brand new, not a scratch. I added up the bills, plus installation, that comes to 14,000 bucks! Plus the 7200 good friend price to buy it. Plus 3400 in additional money spent. Those Twin Cam 88’s, have a bad cam chain adjuster block on them. All those engines from 1998 to 2003, are on millions of bikes, and they all have to be done as a kit for replacement, or it’ll take your motor out after 50,000 miles. So all told, I have about 25K invested. It is really a one off look too. Its a head turner…
He tried to tell me, that if he bought a car for 5000, bucks and tinted the windows, and someone hit him the next day, and it was their fault, the Ins Company wouldn’t pay for that. I called total BS on that!! I actually told him to kindly, kiss my behind, and F off, and hung up, after I told him to stop trying to BS me! And call me back when you decide to do the right thing! ! I was angry and in a lot of pain. I wasn’t taking any guff! I demand 100 per cent replacement value, not a penny less!
I’ve had 2 of my taxis totaled off in the last 5 years, both of the other drivers were at fault. I got every penny I ever spent on those cars, back. All of it. Plus my 1 driver was hurt, he got a big settlement last year. So my own Ins guy, is trying to lowball me? It isn’t costing them a red cent! The idiot who hit me, his Insurance is on the hook for everything. I’ve already racked up about 2 k in bills, because I couldn’t cook, shop, or walk or sleep comfortably. Couldn’t do my banking, do payroll for my employees, I can barely get out of bed myself…lol. I had to get friends to help me. Skip the Dishes for 2 weeks. All I could handle was going to the cancer center, to get cooked…but my expenses will all be reimbursed. I am still steaming about my own guy, trying to skewer me. Only God keeps me from losing my temper, big time!!
He finally called me back, yesterday, his tone was completely different. He asked me to get a list and prices for all the extras, and any other money I spent.
I told him, well now, we are getting somewhere. You should be advocating for every cent. So it seems like the lowball attempt is over.
There is a 2012 Ultra Classic, with the 103 Engine, sitting there, with my name on it. It needs dressing, but its mint. I can work with it. Bikes are my passion. I also detail bikes as a side gig. I do Ok with that side business too. I have 2 bikes sitting there to be done, but I cant do anything right now, my friends who dropped them off are oil patch workers, so they wont be back for another 6 to 8 weeks. Hopefully I am better by then. Its relaxing to do that work. And I need to be relaxed, now more than ever.
Seems like Ill get full value for my bike. I will not settle for anything less.

Laughing is part of it, you have to, because crying all the time just brings you down, and when you are fighting this awful disease, you have to keep yourself centered, and light hearted. If we cant poke fun at ourselves, we have lost the plot, right?
My neck was cooked like last Sundays Roast…and that is what it felt like and looked like. Back in 2020, and into 2021. My radiation Nurse used to joke with me every time I went there, God Bless her, she is an angel, she would say, ready to be cooked again? LMAO! She still keeps tabs on me, to this day. Ive seen her 4 times during this recent treatment plan. She is such a good human being. They all are at the cancer center. Only a few I’ve met rubbed me the wrong way, but I can understand, its a morbid place to work, and some of the staff, are all business and not very friendly. They lose a lot of patients, so Ill assume the odd person, doesn’t want to get close or personal. I’m sure it must wear on them. How can it not.
This time, its my chest and sides….but the pain is nowhere near throat cancer treatment pain. Its a long way off from that, thank God almighty…

Funny you mentioned this, Bob. When I needed open heart surgery after my attack at the Laguna Seca vintage races, my cardiologist found an “aortic aneurysm”. When I was getting prepped for surgery I thought everyone was just unusually nice . . . until I later discovered that 1 in 4 people don’t make it through the surgery . . . Fortunately I had good doctors who literally saved my life. Every time I see my cardio (who’s also a gearhead btw) I think him for saving my life. Near things like your’s deserve to be not just remembered but celebrated.
Ive hit the pavement 3 times in my riding life. The first 2, were just road rash and a broken wrist, once. Every time, it was not my fault either. The idiot drivers dont look for bikes.
This one though, is multiple injury’s and the pain is crazy.
I was young then, though.
Not so much, anymore. This stuff hurts!
Its kind of weird, because the burns from the radiation dont seem to hurt as much, because of the other injury’s…I guess if there is a bright side, that is it. 😉
Bob. We got 8” of rain last weekend and I thought my basement would flood out! We are 45mins north of Huntsville east of Perry Sound. I’m sure you got the same system. I told God that the weather is more than I can try to manage. If the basement flooded, I was resolved to let the chips fall where they did.
Praise God nothing really. Water was all over the bridge. Horrible mess.
Anyway. What I want to do is encourage you sir. God is with you and seems like this period in your life is about as bad as it can get man. Stay strong. Certainly nice to hear from you.

Hey DD! Yeah, that storm missed us. As usual, Lake Nippissing splits most storms in half, they pass to the East, and the West. Happens pretty much every time.
Champlain Park, was devastated, that is on Hwy 17 East, about 25 mins from me. They had to helicopter a pile of campers out, the roads were all blocked and washed out. Trees down like, crazy! Mattawa got hit very hard too. From pretty much, Bonfield to Mattawa is a disaster zone. Roads washed out. 17 East was washed out pretty bad too. They are still cleaning it all up, and still fixing roads and bridges in the back road towns….
You are right about my life. I mean, I have to laugh, because even my Therapist says, she would be a basket case, with all this going on with me.
I didn’t even mention that my malignant narcissist alcoholic ex, like all narcissist’s, has ruined many relationships for me, and come between myself and friends/family members with her BS lies…..always the victim, and we know, narcissists always have to try and appear to be innocent. The evidence I have, will prove otherwise. Her goose is cooked. That is a fact. But just the money and stress dealing with all that, doesn’t help. Like I said, my plate is full, and a lot of people, who would have to walk in my shoes, would have given up by now. And I know it, because I get told that all the time.
If it wasn’t for God, my therapist, and the smaller circle of true friends I retained, during this difficult period, I would have been found swinging in my garage by now.
God spared me a few times now, I owe him my efforts to get through this. Remember Dan, I’m supposed to be dead. But I beat Stage 4 aggressive cancer. That was nothing short of a God given miracle. I wont forget what he has done for me.
But man, he is sure testing me now….no doubt about it…..
I spend most of my time alone, with only a few of my lifelong childhood friends coming by, calling me, and helping me out.
Bob that Electra Glide Ultra will live forever in your heart… wind therapy IS a real thing like no other thing (absent any imposed sudden stops).

I cannot ride my bike anymore after my son was injured in a similar ‘sudden stop’ by way of wayward-truck-in-intersection; I just can’t, even though it breaks my heart. Damned if we do damned if we don’t.

I am being well taken care of at the moment. I have my cancer doctors, my family doctor, my specialist for my leg, plus my lawyers doctors, 2 of them, plus the rehab people.
Im not in rehab yet. Still all banged up, and my leg isn’t doing so well.
So far, I have a lot of resources, and my lawyers people, are paying for my therapy now, because of the accident. I was paying out of pocket. They asked me if that accident made my mental issues worse….I said, well of course!
Itll all play out. Time is the healer.
The cancer is the main problem, the rest of it is terrible soft tissue damage. Might takes years to heal from, this one. ( If I have years. That remains to be seen. )

When he got released to begin physical therapy, the initial assessment showed he had already surpassed what they would expect to do for him… or expect for him to accomplish, based on his injuries; he had none of that ritual.
(his crash was investigated as a fatality scene because the first responders recognized the severity and did not expect him to survive)

Lady, I saw your story about your fur-friends. I’m so glad to hear they are feeling better. Sounds like you’ve been busy trying to tend to their needs. Your situation dealing with their threat of lameness – speaks volumes to the world we are living in now. When it all comes down to it – we have little authority over much of anything – other than the reign we have over what’s inside our four walls – or within your property lines – and isn’t it sooo much more worthy a care to be attentive to our loves?
God gave them to you because He Knew you would be good stewards. They are your precious pets and family. What a good strong family it is.
I was blessed this weekend. I became sick Saturday night – a little weirdness that has happened since Covid. Seems I am exhibiting an allergy to an item that I’ve ingested my whole life – until Savannah came along and we omitted it from our diets for her care and safety. She seems to be outgrowing the allergen, but now I am suddenly – at 52 – allergic??? I simply didn’t even recognize it, but Savannah who heard me ailing (she was awake working nights now) and she immediately knew what to do. She told me that I was suffering from the same as what she had – gave me her medicine – and sure as all get out – that was it! So bizarre, but she was so attentive – caring for me – bringing me medication – water – checking on me. She was the “authority” this weekend.
I was within her care. Your burros are within your care. You see their plight – because you love them – and you know them – intimately. They don’t even speak your language – yet you can tell without fail that something is amiss – and they needed help.
Father God,
What a relationship You Have Given to us for those who so choose to really pay attention. You tend to the hurting and the brokenhearted and You alert us to their pain and frustrations. Thank You for equipping Lady and Lloyd to provide so faithfully for Your Created. Such majestic creatures You have made – as helpers for man. We thank You for the time You’ve given to us with them and for the presence of mind to slow down, commune with them, and to understand fully their plight, as well as their joy, and love, and nuzzles. What an honor You have given to man to be steward of this earth and all within it. Forgive us when we fail our duties. Help us to be accountable. I can vouch for the accuracy of that forecast – we have been experiencing thunderstorms with heavy downpours for the past several hours in north central Maryland – right in the middle of that red zone.
I live about 1,000 ft. from the South Branch of the Patapsco River which is running several feet higher than normal high and moving rapidly, but we’re also about 200 ft. higher than the river, on a bluff, so we are ok.
Our village was flooded out in 1868 on Black Friday, but at that time the main town was built on the flatter south bank of the river. After that devastating flood, they rebuilt our town on the north side which ascends up a steady slope. So since then, flood waters have only affected the first 100 yards or so. Tropical Storm Agnes in 1972 was the worst since the 1868 flood, but not nearly as bad. We also had flooding on the south end of town in late May 2018 after 4 inches of rain fell over a wide drainage area in a 36 hour period.
Some babies lives were saved by good samaritans…
