Another facet not discussed in the BBB background is data released by the US Office of Personnel Management showing a reduction of approximately 23,000 federal employees since the Trump administration took office. [LINK HERE] OPM adds that hundreds of thousands will drop from payroll in October 2025. [link]
Office of Management and Budget Director Russel Vought appears on CNBC to discuss the non-pretending facts within the Big Beautiful Bill as it passed through the Senate. The House now needs to reconcile, support the bill and send it to President Trump’s desk by July 4th.
The key notation from Vought comes at 06:07 of the video below as he explains the BBB is just one facet of a larger cost-cutting initiative (tariff revenue, recission cuts, discretionary spending reductions etc.). WATCH:

America First. Go MAGA
I’m always thankful when I read about hundreds of thousands of gov’t workers being migrated to the private sector employment experience, a.k.a., the real world.
Or as Howie says, the dreaded private sector.
Where you actually have to work.
Recalling a line from the original “Ghost Busters” movie. THE PRIVATE SECTOR. YOU KNOW, WHERE THEY EXPECT RESULTS.
Lol, I love that! “Jeanine quit looking at me you got that bug eyed thing going on, Jeanine, sorry about that bug eyed thing I’ll be in my office. ” I use this all the time with my office manager, lol.
Great movie… 😉
It’s a beautiful thing!
I’m still annoyed at Howie for not supporting Geoff Diehl (endorsed by PDJT), but of course there are some good Howieisms from all the years. This is one.
I also enjoyed how he always said he just wanted to be treated like an illegal alien. (They have always been coddled in this moonbat state.)
Unfortunately, they will need to discover the virtues of a work ethic, honesty, integrity, along with abilities needed in “the real world,” rather than the worthless ability to invent worthless regulations with attendant forms to be filled out and filed, which no one will read because no one will need such paperwork.
Somewhere I read that the Federal Tax Code is over 70,000 pages, while other websites claim that it is “only c. 3000” pages long.
3,000 pages is still ridiculous!
Not unlike idiotic debates on who massacred more people? Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Genghis Khan,…?
Really? So Stalin is not as bad as Mao because he “only killed 100 million” while Mao’s number is even more?
The number does not matter! Committing ONE murder is enough to condemn such monstrous tyrants!
A tax code five times the length of a dictionary is a travesty and unworthy of our country!
“Unfortunately, they will need to discover the virtues of a work ethic, honesty, integrity, along with abilities needed in “the real world,”
I have a very close family member who works for the federal gov’t. I offered this relative at a very young age to go into business with me but they decided to get an advanced degree instead. When younger, this person was wonderful, engaging and really fun to spend time with. Now my business is very successful and I only have to be involved in it about 100 hours a year. I was full time when I started it but now I’m part time because it mostly runs itself.
The relative has a huge sense of entitlement and hates Trump.
The relative will have to work until way past retirement age.
The relative is so combative and obnoxious to talk to, I severely limit communications because it’s so depressing and frustrating engaging with that person.
Thank you for the story!
Another sad example of how Communism destroys a person with envy and hatred!
Was just going to say same thing more or less.
Your words better.

I always found the genius of song and story telling is hard-wired into our DNA;
Anthropologically speaking.
The place where Truth meets Desire. A dream world where survival rewards success. In fact demands.
Cubicles crush that spirit much like a caveman without fire.
Just imagine a world of lazy caveperson, becoming so envious of others; and their songs and stories desires were of, “Must take away fire.”
Were would humanity be?
Luckly for us, cave society probably left caveperson, by river without fire.
Almost sounds like a close one of mine. When first working for a public school told me I had to learn pronouns🤣🤣🤣…now county level warped thinking!
Sorry for being repetitive and for posting this comment again.
Although the new Big Beautiful Bill has weaknesses, I feel that it is an interim budget until the Republicans can secure a solid majority in the Senate and the House and implement the requisite changes. The nation needs to focus on the fiscal reform in the following years.
As much as the bill is not the total solution, I feel that it should be passed, the Republicans need to secure gains in the House and Senate in 2026, and then seriously correct the budget crisis. Please write your Representatives and Senators, and support the passage of the existing BBB in preparation for a better budget next year,
Don’t think there is such a thing as a “simple” tax that is also considered “fair”. Fairness is in the eye of the beholder, and in any democratic system the definition of fair is going to be a compromise of various conceptions. That will always lead to complexity.
Then there is the additional question of efficiency/cost of administration.
We could have everyone travel to their ancestral hometowns to pay a per-person head tax I suppose. Might work if you could get your pregnant espoused wife to ride a donkey and lodge in a stable.
A large number will choose not to work.
Those who are fortunate enough have reached retirement age will manage, the lower echelon workers under retirement age will have to do something once the unemployment runs out.
The question is: How many will resort to crime once it does?
My question is, how many are already Criminals?
That does make the sun seem brighter.
The only problem with that being that the rest of us will have to suffer the insufferable histrionics of wokism that’s been given free reign for far, far too long.
Keep in mind; those are the unemployables of society. Most of them would never make it to their first annual evaluation. If they did make it one year and received a Failed to Meet Expectations, as with one employer I worked for back in the 1980s and 1990s would do (which Never ever happened to me), they would give you the rest of that day and the next day off with pay so that you could consider what your game plan was, in writing, to at least Meet Expectations within the next month.
At which time if expectations were met, then you could proceed another two (2) months and another evaluation. From that point on you would be evaluated quarterly until you reached your second anniversary. By then, if you continued to meet expectations you would then go back to biannual reviews.
I very seriously doubt any of those unemployables will ever get and keep any sort of meaningful employment for the rest of their lives. They would not even know how to start and run their own business Successfully.
What kind of job opportunities can they expect with an M.B.A to Gov’t employment educational model that teaches them the statistical fill-in the blanks to game the system that is built into enabling-defined Legislation of the Purse and the Executive Branch Appointees.
– Got a great idea for a Grant, “Say bird studies on pooping trends and Seasonal Disaffective Syndrome. Your statistical model to warrant this grant meets the Gov’t statistical model of Best Practices and Guidance.

10k employees right here in this one.
Is this today? I thought the Supreme Court’s decision took care of this. This sounds like an injunction because it discusses “likelihood of success on the merits” but I could not read the article due to paywall.
Here you go.
A federal judge on July 1 ordered officials to stop the overhaul of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), finding that the layoffs enacted in April likely ran counter to federal law.
“With respect to the merits, the Court concludes the States have shown a likelihood of success on their claims that the HHS’s action was both arbitrary and capricious as well as contrary to law,” U.S. District Judge Melissa DuBose wrote in a 58-page ruling that granted a motion from states including New York for a preliminary injunction against HHS.
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in March announced a major overhaul of the agency, including the planned terminations of some 10,000 workers and the reorganization of various divisions. Workers were fired in April.
Nineteen states and the District of Columbia sued HHS in May, alleging that the overhaul violates federal law and the U.S. Constitution.
They said in a motion for a preliminary injunction, or a court-ordered halt to the overhaul while the legal case proceeds, that Kennedy’s March announcement was arbitrary and capricious. Under the Administrative Procedure Act, judges can halt decisions that they find are “arbitrary, capricious, an abuse of discretion, or otherwise not in accordance with law.”
The directive was “arbitrary and capricious because Defendants’ purported justifications for the Directive are conclusory and unsupported by any evidence,” the states argued.
Rendered irrelevant.
It needs that big rubber stamp at the beginning of the noir film. D.O.A.

Biden & Co. drove the country off a cliff.
Anybody should understand that the restoration work to put the country right will be expensive.
But yeah, Rand Paul what a great time to get religion over finance. When everything has been intentionally broken.
Agree , once again proving he is all talk and no action .
Speaking of “all talk and no action” what has Jim Jordan been up to lately?
Jim Jordan is currently writing a very strongly worded letter to someone, not sure who (made-up sarcasm).
And obsessively rolling up his shirt sleeves.
I am currently listening to the audiobook; Plutarch’s Parallel Lives of Noble Greeks and Romans.
In the section on Pompey and the section on Caesar I kept hearing; “But, Cato was against it.”, “But Cato voted against it.”, “But Cato talked for the rest of the day so that the Senate was unable to conduct any business because he was against it.” and kept thinking how much it sounded like Rand Paul.
Now I am in the section titled; “Cato The Younger” and Yes!, it perfectly describes the self-righteous Rand Paul “who was against it”.
There have been hints out there, that Dr. Jill has allegedly been responsible for the autopen…certainly the things we have lived thru, are what would be expected of a liberal woman, whatever that is/s, type leader pushing her own agenda…all squishy feel good emotions…?, unchecked?
That would not be surprising.

The FBI will be moved into the building (the Ronald Reagan Building) because Trump cancelled the purty new building that the FIBs were supposed to get in the suburbs. The old one is literally falling apart – there is netting around the building to catch chunks of falling concrete before they hit someone on the sidewalk.
The new building would have cost billions.
I saw SOS Marco’s USAID statement but did not hear about nixing the big beautiful FB Lie building.
If true I’m sure Kash has the sads big time.
Mr. Trump once said, we would get so tired of winning, we would beg him to stop…that we would say “I can’t take any more winning”….
Please stop! I can’t get anything done around mi casa….too focused on all this winning!
Not sure if it was a doomsday article or what but, I did read an article today, where it was mentioned that the loss of immigrants’ social security payroll tax dollars would make SS insolvent by 2034… assuming the large numbers actually pay a payroll tax/s…but then we are always told SS is due to be insolvent in ____(fill in the blank) years….
I wonder how long it took the left to come up with that. Sounds like desperation.
The real reason is we are not having enough children, there is young and old,Japan is running into the same problem.
I attended a webinar featuring the SSA chief actuary. The 2025 trustees report tr2025.pdf just came out and the insolvency moved up roughly from late 2034 to early 2034. The lack of immigrant SS taxes doesn’t do squat to move up insolvency. The main issue is that we’re not making enough babies. The fertility rate is at about 1.6.
And SS insolvency doesn’t mean completely running out of money, but a cut in benefits. The projection is about 80 cents on the dollar, but I would imagine they would use a progressive scale such that poorest would not get any cuts. But that’s assuming Congress doesn’t do anything. There are measures they could take now and phase in over time that could stretch solvency out a couple more decades, but they’ll probably will wait till the last minute, like they did in 1983.
The government has brought in 12 trillion for SS but has spent 4 trillion on SS Where’s the 8 trillion?
Don’t believe? Do your own research. You’ll find it.
We can thank Clinton and Gingrich for stealing our Social Security money so that Clinton could brag about balancing the budget.

My dream is that all those SEIU members will bleed the union dry and bankrupt it.
Well, well. I have been holding off on making this comparison for a very long time. It’s part TDS psychology comparison and part political maneuvering; which DC is apt to do.
It is a rather is simplistic comparison and Senator Schumer just validated it.
I always wondered why the MSM held off on making this comparison. It is a real simple name comparison. BuildBackBetter & BigBeautifulBill. They’re both BBB’s.
The Dem’s could not argue against the Big Beautiful Bill as being bad legislation on the grounds of TDS. Trump would have fired back immediately with this BBB name comparison.
The GOP could not do the same for the opposite reason. To do so would have invited the comparison of if it is such bad legislation how is it different then Build Back Better.
Remember this has nothing to do with actual merits of Trump’s BBB.
It is a simple, superficial name comparison. However, who ever said, “Politicians are not above petty politics”
– cricket says, “Spot on.”
So why Schumer’s last minute name change all about. Could he be thinking of taking an arrow out of the President’s quiver.
I don’t know what is Schumer’s last minute motivation. I can hazard a guess. Maybe something to do with Congress sending BBB back to Senate over the bill being returned to Congress with this name pettiness.
Going to dig into the story and find out the new name.
For flipping crying out loud. The ‘Byrd Rule’ and wait for it. Drum roll, please the “The Act” is the new name.
What a bunch of poseurs. Just who are these, Actors?
– an army of crickets now say, “They are Senators what do you expect.”
Can’t give the President the win, with free off the chuff sounds bites.
Then again, “I truly like to see Congress try biting down on this. What are they to do now. Going to shift towards Paul and Company and gut the Pork.
Which incidently could actually be Trump’s agenda. Getting the that ‘act’ no longer a ‘bill’ but one whipped into form that would have been dead on arrival.
Touche Mr. President and what a master act is Senator Schumer.
-cricket says, “Damn he is petty & dumb.”
So Congress now must accept that the ‘House’ holds no Trump Cards, or what was that Trump motto of Fight, Fight, Fight all about.
-cricket’s chime in, “If a fight is what you want, a fight is what you’ll going to get “
If I had to write the above, pen to paper, or in this case peck it out on my device.
It would have taken me much, much longer than the fifteen minutes to preface the construct with Q&A and the nanoseconds of returned solution.
I guess what I am saying, “PDJT is claiming America is on the cusp of a Golden Age.”
– Look what my Father’s Generation, to GenZ their great- Grandfathers generation did with their educational background.
Put in into contrasting words of his to mine, “We learned from comic books son.”
Just look at the tools we have today. Yes, many will not get this, but unleashed into the hands of Gen-Z. What PDJT is saying about a Golden Age driven not by identity but by empowerment is like
“Hold on World and buckle up.” High-speed mode is coming up.
And, we want to share.
This complex and fast pace world, “Has a built-in soul crushing spirit of giving-up even before getting even started in life.”
Where ambitions and desires are overwhelmed with all this negative energy of doom and gloom.
Where people are more likely to say, “Why bother!”, the deck is stacked, instead of saying, “Why not and what is it going take, what is the effort and reward of following dreams.”
– Just another example of a GenZ to GenZ talking point.
We taught this generation all the things designed to drag them down, Energy, Resources and awareness of the problems of the World.
Just imagine what their solutions are going be in this World in fifty to eight years from now when they bounce their grandchildren on their knees.
The trick is going to be how to translate their desires out of the cookie mold of powerful self interests.

However, I never use those two words so I’m stuck with something more along the line of “buzz off.”
Bessent had some things to say also….
I am not familiar with numbers the size our government deals in, but I have seen enough to know a 2-3% growth in GDP coupled with a percent or two drop in interest rates makes for billions to trillions difference in government debt.
It also makes all government budgets nothing but Voo doo.

I’m sure that there will be a load of garbage spending in this bill just like every other bill Congress passes. These are all America first policies that will spur economic growth.

Sundance;
I voted for Trump and have been visiting Conservative Treehouse for years. I also believe Rand Paul and Thomas Massie and Elon are sincere (and likely correct) in their concerns with continuous deficit spending and the debt. Your little Mickey Mouse message to all of us in that camp was just that….Mickey Mouse. So, it is time to go elsewhere for information because the hero worship on your website

Sincere in holding the BBB hostage?
Sincere in allowing Trump’s tax cuts to expire?

Sorry you feel that way. I have learned a great, great deal here. More than anywhere else, but I think even our host would say, not always perfect. But, pretty damn good.
Whether they are sincere or not as zero baring on this issue. The President had issues with Massie the first time around and Paul always does what Paul does. Funny, I never seen them out there targeting any democrats, at all. Biden? Show me the tape and I will be happy to watch.
By the way, I really don’t think you’ve been here long because Mickey Mouse has been for quite awhile.
