Love the man wearing that hat.
🤣🤣🤣
“Well that’s the concept. The snakes are fast, but they can learn to outrun the alligators. We’ll teach them…”
While weaving his hand.
Hahahahahahaha…
don’t tire services locations do great nutjobs?
All others pale in comparison. Trump 2028.
Elected for a 4th time in a row.
If enemies both foreign and domestic could deny us free elections since at least the Kennedy era, I agree that payback is long overdue.
Either we try and hang them all on the national mall for their crimes against humanity or else we will keep on electing President Trump until this mess *they* created during their treasonous, unconstitutional reign of terror is completely straightened out.
Their choice.
I don’t think your idea will work. I’m for it but that Justice Roberts isn’t. There is an easier solution and it would be for President Trump to eventually start to push Sarah Palin back into the American leadership position as our next President. No one is better- no ONE!
Always loved Her.
To pick her as his running mate and then have his campaign treat Her the way they did is a mystery like the Holy Ghost.
Those were the days when us TEA party patriots emerged to really start the MAGA movement.Sarah opened up many of our eyes regarding the uniparty frauds who were using us to rip off America. If it ever came down to a choice of picking a President between Trump or Palin; I’m voting for Sarah ‘Cuda. You ‘betcha!
Right on, righteous ego + MAGA = a great combination for US.
I enjoyed the humor enamored in the previous department announcements concerning this endeavor that triggers the TDS of the opposition.
Unfortunately for We The People, and the FREE world…
POTUS has ONE glaring blind spot…
CAPITALISM = FREEDOM
POTUS has absolutely zero comprehension of what it’s like to be poor…
Which leaves him blind to the cause of Our “poverty” {1000% inflation} since 1913…
The Federal Reserve Bank.
But God…
Has lain the way for US to pick up what He has already lain down.
Ever person in the world having 100 US Lincoln Pennies {$8 Billion} assures, at a minimum, an equality of wealth, globally.
That’s called Global Economic Emancipation…

“Which leaves him blind to the cause of Our “poverty” {1000% inflation} since 1913…
The Federal Reserve Bank.”
I would respectfully disagree with your statement because it is worded as an absolute.
He probably is fully aware of the Federal Reserve system but is not publicly disclosing his strategy for dealing with it.
Also, I will insert my favorite movie quote here:
“A man has got to know his limitations”.
– Clint Eastwood playing ” Dirty” Harry Callahan in “Magnum Force” (1973)
I absolutely love Dirty Harry. It would be awesome if our Lion could legally point a gun at Zelensky’s face and ask him if he feels lucky!
Well, do ya punk?
But he does have a God given sense of empathy for the citizens of this country… not to be underestimated…keep that in mind…
Donald J. Trump has love in his heart – compassion –
as Melania looked so happy when she was with him in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, happy because he could have the love people gave back to him, like that lady with the high hair who said that every time she sees him on tv, she says a prayer for him – just like my Mom and I do (one of my grandmothers had “high hair” too and was sweet just like that lady, so I imagine it was a shot in the arm for him and Melania was beaming).
Very astute observation, suejeanne…
In his interview with Tucker Carlson, RFK, Jr. said he had Trump wrong completely.. he said the President’s empathy and compassion for the people and the military is off the charts… very worthwhile watching that interview…
Thanks, Ed. I was over the moon that somebody had the perceptiveness and integrity to finally do right by President Trump. This is a magnificent sketch.
RFK totally gets Trump, and nails him for all the world to see in 2 minutes and 54 seconds.
Neiman’s was selling a bracelet quite a while back that said, “Big Hair Brings You Closer to God.” I’ve always regretted not buying one. 😥
How do you know he is blind to that?
Of all the things you’ve lost…do you miss your mind the most?
Elon never learns. He’ll just wind up apologizing again or maybe he’ll go back to South Africa.
They run a LOT faster than you’d think, too…
I love summer blockbusters!
🤣🤣🤣
Right. Alligators can sprint at an alarming speed. The first one may not catch a fast sprinter, but what about the second? The third? The forty-fifth? Being a sprinter won’t get you all the way out of the swamp.
And long distance runners may not have the speed to avoid even the first gator.
/
How to train? Sprints or endurance?
Best strategy: self-deport and claim the flight ticket refund.
Buh-bye
Sprints probably enough!
Gators lurk close to the banks of rivers, creeks, ponds, and lakes. Well camouflaged to resemble floating debris. If you are close to the banks, and a gator has you zeroed in, you are in trouble. Once on solid ground that have a quick 10 yard burst and a tail that will knock you off your feet.
I lived in FL for 20 years and IIRC heard that alligators run at 30+ mph. If one is chasing you, run zig zags. But don’t tell the illegals that.
I cannot help but wonder…who will be the inmate that will try to escape? There will be one,no doubt, to test the waters…
Only, unlike in other Florida counties, the families will have no remains to collect.
We may never know.
Clever! 😎
Oh, I’m sure the dems will single out some patsy – and convince him he can make it – and voila!! They have their new martyr, the newest cause du jour.
Except, I won’t care. I believe many others will not either.
I would not put it past them….
<…who will be the inmate that will try to escape? There will be one,no doubt, to test the waters…>
‘test the waters’….LOL
Excellent!
Thank you good sir!
A: The one who gets pushed in!
I hear they can climb trees!!
No one is sure why they climb trees, but they can do it.
https://wildlifeinformer.com/can-alligators-climb-trees/
They can climb fences, too.
There is more.
“Alligators are quite large and heavy for reptiles, so it might surprise you that they can actually run pretty fast. They can run up to eleven miles per hour. And, in short bursts, alligators can run over 20mph! Compare this to the average human, who can only run up to fifteen miles per hour in short bursts.
Pretty impressive, considering how heavy alligators are and how short their legs are!
Plus, if for some reason you run in a zig-zag pattern, they can actually run even faster.
Their blind spot is directly in front of their nose, so if you think running in different directions is going to help you, you’d be wrong. You would actually be helping them catch you.”
They can also bite your tires and cause them to go flat!
Plus, if for some reason you run in a zig-zag pattern, they can actually run even faster.
So, the old “serpentine, serpentine” maneuver as suggested/yelled by Peter Falk in “The In-Laws” probably won’t work!
And steps, don’t forget they often climb porch steps.
Places to retire:
FloridaBetter cross Louisiana off, too….
Georgia coastal marshes.
Climb fences yes
Climb trees No
Pythons both
I have seen pictures.
Yes.
Trees that lean over waterways are often perches for alligators. It makes for an unnerving sensation when one drops from above next to you.
They also go to sleep if turned over and snore.
The giant mosquitos will eat up those illegals before the gators do!
If you have enough mosquito bites you might wish a gator would get you.
Good morning WeeWeed. Love the image. Thanks. Have a wonderful day.
If the gators don’t get ya the cottonmouths will
Or the anacondas. Their population has exploded there.
McGruff the Crime Dog had a premonition when he said: “Take a Bite out of Crime!”
Good one…I hope it gets Wordman’s attention!
“Polk Salad Annie”…Tony Joe White.
“Gator got my grannie,
Chomp, Chomp”!
I grew up in so fla,,,,,they (alligators)don’t corner well, so if you run in a zigzag they can’t catch you,,,,that being said, try to get to a safe place somehow, or walk your mom’s dog, they will take the dog and leave you alone
Swimming is optional on those wonderful, heated days.
Non retired non magistrate here
It’s worth saying, the everglades is a swamp. The amount of water that gets filtered , the extreme abundance of life that thrives there is amazing. The birds, the fish, mammals and reptiles are an amazing resource of a self sustaining ecosystem that is part of our shared global ecology.
Where our President is coming from is a sewer, created exclusively by man made perversions, sickness and death worshiping.
Words have meaning and those meanings matter when speaking simple truth. The first necessary step in correcting a problem is properly labeling it.
It might be better in the long run to execute violent illegal aliens as they are caught. Teaching alligators that people can be food doesn’t seem like a great idea.
James,
A big part of this swamp thing is also to provide a visual for illegals here, and to promote the self-deportation. The more outrage he generates from the woke lunatic media, the more publicity it gets, and it will get to those people it is meant for. The utility of this action is not just one dimensional. The whole visible threat is probably much greater in effect. Hey, and don’t forget how utterly miserably hot it gets down there.
Rich
There is a new saying in Florida, about water…even safe looking lakes and ponds…
Put your finger in the water. If your finger then gets wet, there are gators in it.
Then there are the Florida mosquitoes…some are huge and inflict a seriously itchy bite….before they carry you away.
IMHO, there is always one who will try for The Darwin Award…
the Bill Gates’ special mosquitoes …… gives me chills. I wonder if they bite the alligators?
Dixie…I seriously see a new medical study in the offing….
Any words you post are worthless when you start with mocking Marcia.
INDEED.
I agree. It is not necessary.
Neither is the “Retired Magistrate Here” necessary in every post regardless of whether it is law-related. Not that her service as a state court magistrate doesn’t deserve respect, but in every single post it’s sad.
You don’t know Marcia’s magnificent backstory. We’re lucky to have her in the Treehouse. I smile when I read her tagline. Maybe we all need our own taglines to honor ourselves .. a thought.
I have heard Marcia’s backstory, as you call it. There are a lot of people here who have overcome hardships (I won’t tell you mine. I know what I’ve overcome).
As far as using taglines, I would not use a tagline because I’d feel silly saying “Retired Philadelphia Appellate Lawyer Here” with every single post. The only time I mention my professional credentials is when I post on legal matters, and not always then.
I like her tagline. I don’t see why you don’t use yours too, if you’d like it.
Personally, i am happy just to be retired although I still take care of my mother and her horses so I’m not quite there yet.
I like it too. I get a sense of her background and know she speaks truth.
If you think anyone with a law degree, or anyone who served on the bench speaks truth, you need to read the recent dissent by Justice Jackson in Trump v. DACA.
I appreciate your legal takes and always learn something from them.
We must disagree however on your comments re another treeper’s choice to use a tagline.
Very opinionated old woman here.
Being a high powered litigator, triggered by a stranger’s tagline. Not a good look, really.
Not triggered. Amused.
In my experience, people don’t need multiple explanations for their amusement.
They just laugh.
Here’s mine: “Retired ‘Roundhouse’ cellmate here”. Roman Catholic High School, class of 1969.
To live life with a thin skin is not much fun. Don’t let all the “stick in the muds” bother you.
I like your suggestion re taglines!!! Original Montana Farm Girl here.
And we could change our taglines from day to day: 7th child of 7 children here, Always Hated Grasshoppers here; Fan of Marcia Here; Daughter of Sunday School Teacher; Learned to Drive in a 1953 Robin’s Egg Blue Ford Here;…….I LIKE your suggestion!
We could do it for one day to honor James T.
And then do it forever just for fun.
Marcia, Retired Magistrate: Don’t let this get to you in any way, shape or form. We are glad you are our neighbor and our friend. We have always appreciated you being you. Don’t stop.
My tagline today is – Always Use Clorox! Tomorrow I shall use – Shovels! 😀
I love it!! If we did our tag lines with honesty and with the goal of creating a deeper sense of community, the results would be amazing. For example, being a 54 yr old oldest daughter of an oldest daughter and the only person in my family to get a college degree shapes the way I see the world.
Being a bivocational pastor also working in the spaces where medical and behavioral health intersect means that I have seen a lot of human suffering and overcoming. I have seen directly how policy on medicaid/medicare directly affects patients as well as providers.
Being a child of the 70s and 80s…
etc.
I like it! 🙂
The treehouse is always gathering more and more readers so to them it is information they would not otherwise know. Also, it’s always easier to be critical than non-judgmental but non-judgmental reaps more rewards.
Marcia thinks it is necessary, and it’s not harming you, so why do you care?
Marcia the retired Magistrate uses that phrase due to the fact that there is another Marcia and she does not want to be confused with them. She, “The retired Magistrate” posted on that issue, a few years ago.
Suggestion: skip over them?
Agreed. This kind of nastiness is specifically against our rules. I would suggest that James think before he does it again.
Non retired
Non magistrate here.
Probably not since it’s harmless. By the way , you probably haven’t noticed but I happen to be one of the few that doesn’t hide their identity.
If you posted ” Non James T Gardner here” it might be funny.
Just took you out of moderation not more than a week ago. I made a mistake. Goodbye…
THWACK!
Door hitting rump…
Industrial strength fly swatter hitting target.
They are over by Sylvia’s shovel if you need one. 😉🤣
For those that may have missed it, Marcia uses the tag line so not be confused with another Marcia…I read her post on that a while back…
Hey guys…speaking names here….has anyone seen our good Friend ,Jinxy AKA…(etc)?
I was just thinking that same thing this morning.
Last I saw him post was Friday, I think.
Retired Magistrate here: Thank you.
LOL….you are the best! 😘
Your posts are among my favorites, Marcia, Retired Magistrate. You have helped me to sort through some thorny topics. Thank you.
Admin/Moderator here.
You say it’s “harmless”, yet you chose to purposely target another Treeper for ridicule. I doubt that she thinks that it’s harmless. I know I don’t.
Btw, while not against a rule, it generally isn’t wise to attempt to “school” a blog admin. Just a thought.
The reason i use a pseudonym goes back to our George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin days. The days when we were all under threat. I’m sure others have their own reasons.
Gratitude is good for the egotist.
When my gratitude needs replenishing the stellar and intelligent contributors here at CTH like retired magistrate nourish my flaw.
Cheers!
Naw….. It just means you probably won’t understand them.
Alligators aren’t “taught” to eat an item.
They go for what is available.
I don’t know about alligators, but I’ve heard that sharks have been conditioned to scour the waters eating discarded cartel victims in villages like Acapulco Mexico.
Sharks also come up to fishing boats expecting to feed, as every fisherman who reels in half a barracuda can attest. Sharks and other marine life will also frequent tourist boats that regularly feed them on their sightseeing excursions.
That is why I stick to the beaches and don’t go swimming off the backs of any boats.
You should try the Great Lakes. I was never attacked by a shark when I went swimming off the back of a boat. And the water is fresh.
Don’t forget cold.
Depends on the lake. The smaller lakes are quite warm by this time of year, including Lake St. Clair. Ditto the Detroit river; and yes, I have gone swimming off a swim platform on the east end of Belle Isle in the Detroit River. Ditto Lake St. Clair. Lake Huron is pretty chill though! That is where I did most of my sailing.
Memory time…my son actually reeled in a half a barracuda in the waters off Jensen Beach…
There is a fence on Alligator Alley from the Miami area to Naples… some think it is to keep alligators from coming onto the roadway, but it could be to keep the crazy humans from going into the Everglades, where instantly go to the top of the food chain…. A very foreboding area… Everything in the Everglades is geared to eat you….!
I have seen some huge gators along the rural areas of the southern Florida Turnpike, just north of the Ft Pierce areas…..again, if the water is ‘wet’, there’s a gator somewhere…
My dad died on the alley
Because you started your comment mocking Marcia, I shall completely and totally ignore your comments. You have outed yourself as a veritable jerk! Try to have a nice day.
I think he went ‘bye bye’ per Admin…
I love the glades, was my playground growing up,,,,,had a gator come up into the airboat I was on after a missed shot from a bangstick, I climbed the fan struts and held on while my bro threw it off with a bank manoeuver, we were partying in Loxahatchee one dark night, and bro threw a bottle into the dark, hit a bull gator, he wasn’t happy so we got in the truck bed real quick,,,,oh I could tell more, but y’all catch my drift
Here’s what I know…
Elon Musk voluntarily worked with POTUS for {on behalf of} US, We The People…
Now POTUS works for Elon…
And every other legal citizen of The United States Of America…
We The People are the sovereign Constitutional authority of The United States Of America.
POTUS works for US.
Fact check ✅
Seems that Elon was really working a play to pay scheme.
Apparently, he thought waste -and fraud shouldn’t be applied to himself.
Elon hasn’t DOGEd President Trump’s agenda; nor honor.
But, Elon may cause President to DOGE him.
Elon has totally exposed his $en$e of power.
Elon did not work on behalf of anyone but himself.
I agree, Elon is big on the “self aggrandizing”.
VSPDjT works for the American People….

Remember?
President Trump is indisputably the best POTUS of my lifetime and I started two weeks before JFK took office.
Governor DeSantis is the best Governor of my lifetime and Reagan was the first Governor {CA} I remember as a kid.
I wish both, POTUS and Gov DeSantis, could be more like FL Gov Farris Bryant when he testified before Congress in ’63…

Nice – but I prefer they all be deported.
they may beg to be deported rather than be surrounded by man eating alligators.
This facility is designed to be a short – term waystation not as a long – term detention center.
It’s not just alligators. There are venomous snakes living in those swamps.
If one doesn’t get you, there’s a high probability the other one will.
…and always remember that the Seminole indians never did sign a treaty with the US guvment. Never know how many of them are lurking behind the cypress stumps.
Thank you, Sundance!
But do they serve margaritas?
They might prefer Gitmo or CECOT to Alligator Alcatraz!
President Trump should drive the left even more crazy if that’s even possible by suggesting that he might put the prisoners to work making alligator boots and purses.
A new Trump fashion line….. Trump Gator Boots
Two versions…one with lifts and then, regular…
Hahahaha!
Brilliant! Sure money maker – put that toward the debt, too. 😀
It would drive the libs even crazier if the money went to ICE budget!
😂 😂 😂
The democrats will tell their representatives to bring off mosquito repellents when they go to visit their hommies.
The inmates can make money killing pythons and that’s ok to me.
Another money maker!
Not for everybody, this is a lot of numbers.
Elon (disingenuous or just confused) thinks the One Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) is a catastrophe.
I spent some time with his Grok. It was difficult because it loved to regurgitate analysis
by the MSM or think-tanks. I gave it a “pro-tip”: The studies start with the answer, and
create reasons why they are right. Use first-principles.
First step: the Congressional Budget Office assumes 1.8% real GDP growth. With inflation of 2.2%
that becomes 4% nominal GDP growth. Note: Atlanta Fed estimates real growth rate.
(see https://www.atlantafed.org/cqer/research/gdpnow).
Note: US GDP was $29.1 trillion in 2024.
Second step: apparently CBO uses debt held by the public, excluding intragovernmental debt
(e.g. Social Security trust funds), about $28.2 trillion vs gross national debt
($36 trillion in 2024).
Third step: the key metric US debt/US GDP is 28.2/29.1 = 99% (I know Elon focuses on the
$36T number, which gives a ratio of 1.24%)
After a lot of back and forth with Grok, assuming the POTUS agenda is implemented, in 2035 we have:
US GDP $53T, US Debt $37T, Debt-to-GDP Ratio 70%. Note: below 80% is “sustainable.”
How I got those numbers might be too much in the weeds, but briefly, additions to 1.8% real
rate growth:
Investments $300 B per year (e.g. Apple, Saudis etc) 1.0%
BBB full expensing/deregulation 0.4%
Reduced Trade Deficit ($500B – cut in half) 1.0%
——
2.4%
That is added to the 1.8% to get 4.2% real gdp growth. My numbers assume 4%
Actual addition to the debt is reduced by
BBB budget cuts $2T/10 years
Tariff income of 10% on $4.5T (2022) gives $450B. I assumed $300B, or $3T/10 yrs
Lower interest rates (as debt-to-gdp ratio drops) $5T/10 yrs
higher income due to higher GDP $2.5T/10 yrs
Sum: $12.5T/10 years NOT added to the debt.
CBO assumes as a baseline that $20T will be added. So the BBB will add 20-12.5 = $7.5T
(notice that is still above the $5T debt ceiling, so in the future it must be raised!)
SUMMARY: the key index of financial health will drop below 80% and there is no fiscal
crisis. Of course, if the commies get back in, all bets are off.
A lot of movement today.
JD currently seated in the Senate President’s chair; the vote is underway.
PDJT touring the new detention facility in FL – it will begin receiving detainees tomorrow.
50-50 vote. JD breaks the tie.
Thanks Keynote! It passed the Senate!!!!
My pleasure. It barely squeaked by, but it did!
After this, Thune needs to fire the Parliamentarian. She was appointed by Harry Reid in 2011.
Too much tie breaking…
Which Republicans are against it…beside the guy from NC?
Rand Paul (Kentucky) and Susan Collins (Maine)
The Everglades are federally protected lands since early 1990s. Putting that detention center in that location is genius!
If my memory serves me, Irwin got nailed by the tail spike of a stingray and not a gator, just sayin’…………
Correct.
and it was a complete fluke accident from what I recall…
Irwin might have survived if the barb was left in his chest. Someone removed it while the boat was headed back to shore.
He looks exhausted. Understandable given what he is facing, what he has been through and accomplished.
