I think Trump’s tariffs are not just to demand trade fairness and to do away with personal income tax – both worthy goals that I hope he is able to achieve. I think he has found them to be a powerful and very useful weapon to get cooperation and to dole out retribution. I’m not against this. Economic war is better than military war. The noise of plane made it hard for me to hear what Trump was saying, so I looked at Transcript. Sometimes youtube auto-generates what is said too, so I see the subs and listen and watch, so I don’t miss anything.
I think Trump is using the media almost as a human shield. He is very available to the media (Air Force One, before getting on helicopter, in oval office, cabinet press availability, etc).
We all like these and they are great, but I bet one of his reasons for doing them is, “take me out and alot of these media probably get taken out too”. Everything is on video if something happens. If he did the alternative and was very unavailable to the media….all sorts of time and opportunities for something to happen.

I will tell you some insight from on the ground about the deportations, self deportations, and the cutting of benefits to illegals.
The Walmart in Harrisburg, PA is on the way home from my wife’s nonprofit, and is open when we leave for home. I hate going in the first 3 to 5 days of the beginning of the month, EBT is filled up. With the onrush of illegals for the past 4 years, it has turned into a mad house the first week of the month (really the whole month now). No English spoken, illegal immigrants everywhere, some of them very very nasty, trashing everything. They are blowing through money, new cars, new cell phones, and they are lined up at the money transfer to send money home the first week of the month. They CLEAN the Walmart out of grocery.
The strange thing this week I noticed. The shelves were full. The meats were all full, and not emptied. We stopped on the 1st, Thursday, at 9 pm out of necessity to get a couple of items. Damn! There were only a couple of EBT users there. Normally even at this time, the place is full and chaotic, not on Thursday night. All of the evening staff know us from a regular nightly stop to buy fresh each day. So I asked, was it busy today and crazy. No, not near as busy, and not as crazy.
It is working!
Walmart on the west side of Edmond Oklahoma, I went in looking for a step stool. I asked 2 workers for help and NOT ONE OF THEM COULD SPEAK ENGLISH!!! Hope ICE hits Walmart.
Same in Harrisburg. There is a large Nepali population that was settled here. Most are pretty good, and they work. A lot work at the Walmart. Happy to be here the last 15 to 20 years, and are learning the US system. The Latin American employees that Walmart hires, not so much.

When a crime has been committed a warrant is not needed. A traffic ticket is a warrant but the LEO is authorized to release you on your own recognizance if you sign the ticket agreeing to appear in court. My son (Harris Col Sheriffs academy graduate said: criminals arrested by LE do not need a warrant, sometimes for example assault, etc, you might have to call the DA to see if he will accept charges but mostly you dont. The judge who states a warrant is needed is ignorant of the law.

I love how he went after he WSJ around the 7 minute mark – they have been unrelenting in their attacks on Trump and Musk, and most of the time they don’t allow comments because they know they are lying and will be corrected. No way the NYT or WP can be any worse. Also it is sweet watching him point out the egregious over sampling of people who voted against him in their polls and castigating the incredibly corrupt ‘media’.
One of the interesting things about Air Force one is that everyone on it has an assigned seat. By protocol one can’t move forward of their section.
That means Trump can go where he wants, but the Press are stuck where they are in the back of the plane. They can’t go looking for news forward of that area. Which is why Trump uses his time sometimes to hold a press conference in the air.
