One of the more rewarding experiences of being a guitar enthusiast, is getting to play different guitars at a single sitting. This is what good guitar shops do to encourage reasonably competent guitarists to “get their feet wet” by playing the shop’s collection of luthier built instruments. (It is also a great way to convince new players to give serious thought to buying a genuine luthier-made instrument!).
Saturday’s at the guitar shops in Madrid or LA or Paris are quite often places where truly great players stop in to play the new guitars. This video shows what that cam be like. COMMENTARY FOR ROMANS 4
“The doctrine of justification by faith is shown by the case of Abraham. (1-12) He received the promise through the righteousness of faith. (13-22) And we are justified in the same way of believing. (23-25)1-12 To meet the views of the Jews, the apostle first refers to the example of Abraham, in whom the Jews gloried as their most renowned forefather. However exalted in various respects, he had nothing to boast in the presence of God, being saved by grace, through faith, even as others. Without noticing the years which passed before his call, and the failures at times in his obedience, and even in his faith, it was expressly stated in Scripture that “he believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness,” #Ge 15:6|. From this example it is observed, that if any man could work the full measure required by the law, the reward must be reckoned as a debt, which evidently was not the case even of Abraham, seeing faith was reckoned to him for righteousness. When believers are justified by faith, “their faith being counted for righteousness,” their faith does not justify them as a part, small or great, of their righteousness; but as the appointed means of uniting them to Him who has chosen as the name whereby he shall be called, “the Lord our Righteousness.” Pardoned people are the only blessed people. It clearly appears from the Scripture, that Abraham was justified several years before his circumcision. It is, therefore, plain that this rite was not necessary in order to justification. It was a sign of the original corruption of human nature. And it was such a sign as was also an outward seal, appointed not only to confirm God’s promises to him and to his seed, and their obligation to be the Lord’s, but likewise to assure him of his being already a real partaker of the righteousness of faith. Thus Abraham was the spiritual forefather of all believers, who walked after the example of his obedient faith. The seal of the Holy Spirit in our sanctification, making us new creatures, is the inward evidence of the righteousness of faith.”

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Yesterday our family pitch-in was at my brothers place. Menu was:
Ham, Lamb, corn pudding, baked beans, chicken & noodles, marinated asparagus, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, spinach dip. Deserts were fruit salad, banana pudding, and the best thing since Robert Redford.
Now my brothers place is a large beautiful home on 47 acres. About 1/2 the acreage is woods running along the White River. The rest are fields. He has five 4-wheelers, an ATV, and a couple of golf carts to run around the place on. he has cut trails through the woods for the 4-wheelers. I jumped on a 4-wheeler and followed him as he took me on the tour.
The seven kids had more than enough plastic eggs with money and treats in them to find. There was also one very large plastic egg for each, filled with treats. There was a satellite picture of the place with the location of the large egg marked by an X for each of the kids and those eggs were located far and wide on the property so they took the kids on the golf carts and ATV to go find them.
It was quite a day. Both Sherry and were exhausted when it ended and hit the sack early and slept very well through the light rain we had early this morning.

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.

The President has ordered that US flags fly at half staff for the passing of the Pope. I will not comply with that order. I will pray that the next Pontiff can clean up the terrible messes this last one has made and restore real credibility to the Vatican.
