Mine are just now budding. We shall see if I they will be as pretty. It looks like a Tea Rose known as Tiffany. They are one of the prettiest and fragrant of the modern tea roses according to the American Rose Society. I had them in Pennsylvania. You can still get them, but you’ve got to search. I did find a place here in Texas where I can get them. They, like everything else, has become pricey. But oh they are worth it for beauty and frgrance!

I would appreciate everyone saying a prayer for me.
Tomorrow, I start radiation and chemo again, for my lung cancer now.
I survived Stage 4 throat cancer. Not so sure I will get that lucky again. The docs said its stage 3, has not spread. But its going to be horrible, like the 1st time.
Im already having a tough time in life.
But Im ready to battle again. Im not going out without one.
Love all you good Treepers who have kept me in your thoughts. It means a lot to me, that perfect strangers care, ya know?
Tomorrow is the beginning of a tough battle. Im definitely going in with a good attitude. The docs havent given me a survival outlook yet. Im assuming they are not going to tell me yet, so I dont fall into depression. ( Im already there, but they dont know that, and its best to keep that to myself with them, anyways. )

I will keep you in my prayers, Bob. I survived advanced prostate cancer last year. Without the prayers and encouragement of family, friends, neighbors, fellow cancer patients, and yes, even strangers, it would have been a much tougher battle. God does listen to prayers, and He is the Great Healer! In addition, some of those good people never talked about their beliefs to me before that and I sensed they might have been in the early stages of becoming believers in Jesus Christ! God never fails to answer prayers especially when there is a salvation issue. We were all strengthened spiritually as well as physically and emotionally from our conversations, thanks to God! I prayed many times that God blesses all those who prayed for me and will continue pray for you, Bob. You’ve got an army of fellow Treepers who love you!

Good morning annie !! I remember seeing some great shows back in the day for short money, say $25-50, for the really good seats. And then I remember The Eagles. When they got back together for “Hell Freezes Over” was the first time I saw ticket prices jump to $200 each….for the cheap, nosebleed seats.
Concert ticket prices have done nothing but skyrocket ever since….(can’t really blame the Eagles. If it wasn’t them it would have been someone else jacking the prices sky-high….)

I stayed awake prodding some old childhood memories out of the old dust bend.
I rembered a kids park, right near the Japanese Friendship Gardens that my mother used to take my little sister and me to. I finally had to do a search to remember its name… Happy Hollow. We had so much fun there. I’m remembering now at first entering there was a big red figure of a hippopotamus, named Happy Hippo. Lol we had a lot of fun there. One of our favorite things actually was out in the parking lot; a big, partly hollowed out tree we loved to climb on. Those were the wonderful days of childhood innocence.
This great thread brought it all back to life. Yay!

I, for one, am sick of going to most any store to by whatever I might want or need and being forced in to buying Chinese junk, which covers a wide range of merchandise.
I often choose instead to simply do without whenever possible.x
I thank God and man there are still some American manufacturers such as Smith and Wesson and Ruger, that still produce quality guns right here and now in the good old USA, and I just bought an other gun, and ain’t nobody takin’ it.
Original LCP (later mod with improved trigger), Hogue grips definitely helped. Sig P238. Better gun ovrall but limited rounds of .380 made it (like the LCP) just an ‘ok’ carry gun. Now? Trying to decide between S/W Bodyguard 2.0 (very good gun) and a Ruger LCP Max. Both are remarkably similar and the Ruger LCP Max drops to $200 regularly. S/W stays at just under $400. Both the Ruger and S/W are 10/12 rounders—a real concealed carry improvement. The Max is tempting because of the price drops. But what if it doesn’t shoot as well as the S/W?
I just bought a Ruger Max 9 with ready dot sight for my concealed carry firearm. Won’t carry a semi-auto that doesn’t have a thumb safety.
Any complaints about how it shoots? You may have convinced me to save myself $200 . . .
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Everyone is different but just as the video indicates, it’s a fine piece. I caught it on sale at http://www.guns.com on sale for $398.00. That does not include carrying case.
It’s as small as I can comfortably shoot with my big hands. It comes with a spare extended magazine base to extend the shorter 10 rd. mag to the same length as the 12.
What ever you get, read the manual and pay particular attention to the part of ammo. This compact, like several others, should not be fired with extra hot rounds.
Be aware that double stack mags are stiff to load.
No provision for a suppressor on it. But why would you have one for a concealed carry anyway?
I have several pistols, but my preferred home defense piece is a GLOCK 21 with a laser. Used to be my Colt Combat Commander.
Being the old military man I am, I prefer the 45 ACP over the 9 mm. But 9mm gives you so many more rounds for concealed carry.

Thanks for this video, rah. I’m a huge fan of Ruger handguns and this video in very informative. I’m thinking it would be very useful for Treepers who are giving serious thought to buying their first concealed handgun.
Ruger’s are solid and well designed by a “old line” company with lots of organizational culture experience. Looks like they’ve come up with a serious competitor for a number of similar guns.
So, if this a good carry gun? Well, from what your video shows, if we ever got into a seriously dangerous situation—and I sincerely hope it never happens to our numerous Treeper friends here— having an LCP Max with its 10 or 13 rounds could very well save someone’s life.
I say this and in this way because I fear, at least for the near future, our society is destined to be an increasingly dangerous place. So. Thanks again for this very informative video. And this for our Treeper friends: most gun ranger offer good basic training courses to acquaint new owners with their new firearms. Generally speaking the classes aren’t expensive and are usually very informative. Just sayin’ . . . 🙂
I like my magnum revolvers. They never jam. My first was the S&W model 29 .44 Mag, 8 3/8 barrel, which I bought in 1978 as a birthday present to myself the year I turned 18. It’s a real hog leg, and lucky me, it has increased in value about 700%. My Colt Python is a .357 mag, also vintage and excellent condition after all these years. Neither have ever failed me. I also have a .357 mag Colt with 2 inch barrel in stainless steel, which I gave a mere $100.00 for back in the early 90s. It belonged to a Texas State Trooper who had passed away and left his collection to his son, a good friend of mine, who sold it to me because it kicks a bit. It, too, is as reliable as the sun and the recoil doesn’t bother me.
Ive a Kimber .45 semi auto double stack polymer, it’s pretty reliable, but there are better .45s out there, one is made in Turkey and the other in Japan and both reasonably priced made of blued steel. I know because two of my closest brothers own them and I have shot them both multiple times.
If you’re into semi autos and looking for a smaller carry gun for protection, I would recommend either of those if your budget can’t bear the Colt 1911.
If you’re really wanting a smaller caliber semi, I like my wife’s Walther .380. It’s both reliable and easily concealed. I open carry as that is legal here in Nevada and prefer a cross draw holster. I’ve never really considered a Sig, although they are very popular. I don’t really know much about them.

During World War I Bradley was involved with guarding copper mines in Butte, Montana. In the interwar period he taught other officers, with positions at West Point and eventually taking a position at the War Department. He later became the commander of the United States Infantry School.
During World War II, Bradley was one of the most senior Allied commanders. He took front-line command in Operation Torch under George S. Patton, and later commanded II Corps in Tunisia and Italy. He then took charge of the First United States Army in Operation Overlord. After that he commanded the single largest unit ever put under a single field commander: Twelfth United States Army Group, comprised of 1.3 million men.
Bradley’s distinguished career continued after the war, serving as the head of the Veterans Administration, the Chief of the United States Army and then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Harry S. Truman and his former World War II boss Dwight D. Eisenhower. He left active service in 1953.

“Christ’s discourse with Nicodemus. (1-21) The baptism of John of Christ John’s testimony. (22-36)1-8 Nicodemus was afraid, or ashamed to be seen with Christ, therefore came in the night. When religion is out of fashion, there are many Nicodemites. But though he came by night, Jesus bid him welcome, and hereby taught us to encourage good beginnings, although weak. And though now he came by night, yet afterward he owned Christ publicly. He did not talk with Christ about state affairs, though he was a ruler, but about the concerns of his own soul and its salvation, and went at once to them. Our Saviour spoke of the necessity and nature of regeneration or the new birth, and at once directed Nicodemus to the source of holiness of the heart. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Well here is how I spent my morning. I picked my neighbor Steve up and we went to the County building to sit in on a County Zoning board meeting.
Some guy has bought a lot that had two old trailers and a bunch of junk and cleaned it up. He wanted to zone it for business to sell class 3 fireworks. He intends to build a house there but wants to sell fireworks in the meantime.
All this area is Agriculture and residential and virtually nobody out here wants anything zoned for business here, no matter what. There were a good number of people from around here at the board meeting. I let my opinion be known as did several others.
The planning commission voted no for the rezoning. However it’s the county full body of the county commissioners that have the final say. They will hear the case at 10 AM, Tuesday after next.
This is the 2nd time in the last six months that we in this area have banded together to save the semi-rural ambiance we love so much about this place. It is why we moved here and live here. The property value just keeps going up because it is such a desirable area to live in. There were other reasons I stated for our opposition to the rezoning but that’s the bottom line.
I can foresee there being more such fights in the future.

There’s a video on Fox showing the little pups howling a little. As 6-month-olds they are apparently 25% larger than a grey wolf (dire wolves were 50% larger) and have a bit of a mane of fur around the neck. They look pretty.
Having livestock a quarter mile from a million acres of national forest, we don’t like wolves in general. Or mountain lions. Or bears, especially the grizzly’s they’re trying to introduce.

It was a year ago today! A sign in the Sky!
I think this was ‘a sign in the sky’ for America, maybe a warning?. It was a second eclipse that completed a cross over the U.S. ( 2024). The first one ( 2017 )was 7 years before last years. Seven is a significant number in Biblical prophecy.
Also at the crossing of the two eclipse paths (2017 and 2024 ) a symbol of the Alpha and Omega was formed.
The Aleph is an A, the source of our modern letter. They are the first and last letters, the Alpha and the Omega essentially.. The April 8 2024 eclipse creates all three letters within minutes by crossing the lines created by the first two eclipses from south to north.
As far as we know, nothing much happened today. Will it? Is there still time? Or is it a warning of something further ahead.? Were the names of the cities it passed over meaningful? Interesting.

I was in bumper to bumper traffic and cars continued to try and merge onto the highway by jamming in front of me.
I locked the truck into low gear and just eased along ignoring the constant ignorance of these people.
A lady was trying to squeeze in front of me and hit my truck. She pulled over screaming at me. I was later summoned to police reporting centre for an accident investigation. Apparently she called the police on me.
When I told the police the story, they told me they had heard this story countless times and told me they would be giving the woman a careless charge.
Nice to see the police side with common sense.
