WHO HOLDS YOUR KEY?
I wake every day and punch a clock…
either the one for my day to day job
or the one for my family life.
Rise… and… SHINE!
Days full of maneuvers to earn a wage
or to earn some praise.
We all live in a cage.
Some cages are nicer than others.
We all submit ourselves to someone;
be it a boss,
a spouse,
or a child.
We all serve someone else’s interest/
We all live in a cage.
We just hope it is someone kind,
who holds the key.
We are let out for a day,
maybe a weekend camping trip,
or for the lucky – a cruise or a trip.
Shedding the phones,
the calendar, the computer,
the taskmasters.
A breath of freedom.
Freedom to be who we want
verses who we have to be…
all contingent upon who holds our key.
For those most fortunate…
a spouse, a child, a family member
to enjoy being caged with thee.
For even fewer,
a cage so nice,
one never wants to leave.
The cozy, the safe, the soft…
the shelter from… out there…
hard, abrasive, insincere.
To be free requires inspiration, ingenuity,
creativity, known Purpose,
the tools to have
the garden, the land, the barn, the grass.
Alas, some cages are nicer than others.
For freedom, you need to know what makes you tick,
or pause, or breathe, or smile.
Too much isolation, less stimuli…
one no longer remembers what makes them
linger, breathe, or smile.
One forgets how to laugh,
or what it sounds like.
Daily gazes in a mirror,
but not really seeing the reflection –
one forgets what he or she looks like…
much less the indifference
to how others see me.
Everyone’s in a cage.

I need that ponder bench, Lady. It’s not really poetry… has no form or cadence… but it bubbled up inside me today and has been for awhile.
I know others are thinking it. They’re not saying it but they’re thinking it. Pallantir and Sam Altman are no friends to the American public. Dirty rotten scoundrels. Was reading bits and pieces about Elon’s attempted buyout to try to wrestle it away from Sam… Elon in prior long-form podcasts speaks of how evil he thinks Sam is, which is why they broke off from original collective venture.
I know there is “good enough” that should prove satisfactory in some things.. but freedom isn’t one of them.

Apache leader and resistance fighter, dies at 79
Biography: Geronimo was an Apache military and religious leader and from the Bedonkohe band of the tribe. Born in what is now New Mexico, he was a key figure in the Apache resistance against the United States and Mexico during the Apache Wars, becoming known for his leadership and fierce resistance.
Originally named Goyahkla (meaning “One Who Yawns”), he later received the name “Geronimo,” a Spanish version of the name Jerome, possibly given by Mexican soldiers. He emerged as a leader within the Apache community following an 1858 incident in which when a Mexican military expedition attacked his family’s camp, killing his mother, wife, and children. This event fueled Geronimo’s resistance against Mexican, and later American, expansion into Apache territories.
Geronimo’s strength made him a respected and feared figure among the Apache and their adversaries. He was often able to elude capture, continuing to fight despite being vastly outnumbered and outgunned, all of which only added to his legend. He led numerous raids against Mexican and American settlers and troops, both in retaliation and as a means to sustain his warband.
In 1886, after years of conflict, Geronimo surrendered to U.S. forces for the final time. He and his followers were sent as prisoners of war to Florida, and later to Alabama and Oklahoma. Geronimo’s surrender marked the end of the Apache Wars and the broader Native American armed resistance against U.S. expansion in the Southwest.
In his later years, Geronimo became a celebrity. He appeared at fairs, including the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, and in President Theodore Roosevelt’s 1905 inaugural parade. He dictated his autobiography in Spanish in 1905, and it was later published with Roosevelt’s permission.

During the war of 1812 Private individuals who, having a Letter of Marque from the US government, fitted out existing ships as ships of war that preyed on British merchant ships.
Private investors jumped at the opportunity to help fund a Privateer ship because the potential payout for the investment was higher than any conventional investment.
The Prize value for a Privateer capturing a British ship and it’s cargo was split 50/50 with the US government. If the cargo was valuable the investors could make a handsome profit from a single capture. The crews were paid based on their rate with the prize money, with the Captain being the highest paid and the cabin boys being the lowest. It was all laid out in contracts. Men swarmed to crew good ships with a Captain they judged would be successful.

Commentary for Proverbs 4
Exhortation to the study of wisdom. (1-13) Cautions against bad company, Exhortation to faith and holiness. (14-27)1-13 We must look upon our teachers as our fathers: though instruction carry in it reproof and correction, bid it welcome. Solomon’s parents loved him, therefore taught him. Wise and godly men, in every age of the world, and rank in society, agree that true wisdom consists in obedience, and is united to happiness. Get wisdom, take pains for it. Get the rule over thy corruptions; take more pains to get this than the wealth of this world. An interest in Christ’s salvation is necessary. This wisdom is the one thing needful. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

So sorry am I from your presence I strayed;
I gave into pity, panic, and pain;
In the process, I created the strain!
Forgive me, Father for not trusting You;
For allowing the devil in out of the blue;
For forgetting what Jesus gave up on the cross;
How much He suffered; how unforgiving the loss!
He emptied himself so I might be full;
What had I done to diminish and cull?
Oh Father, forgive me for being so blind;
For letting this darn distrust clog my mind!
What is it Father; you would have me do;
What can I do to make it all up to You?
I humble myself before You and ask sincerely;
Tell me what to do, Father, for I love You dearly!

It’s looking like NYC will not get much snow now. The impact will be further south and this thing will get blown straight out over the water instead of turning north as was a distinct possibility. The areas impacted are some of the same that got all of that rain this weekend.
This is not set in stone yet either. Forecasts for snow amounts more than 48 hours out are most often very iffy.
