Senator Marco Rubio of Florida was a political rival of President Trump but also a key adviser on foreign policy issues. Mr. Rubio, once a top contender to be Mr. Trump’s running mate last year, is a Deep State foreign policy hawk who has taken a hard-line approach to China, a very supportive position on Ukraine, and an overall globalist stance that will influence his leadership of America’s diplomatic efforts and keep the U.S. Senate very happy.

I think this appointment was the only way we’d ever get rid of him as Florida’s Senator. Couldn’t stand him since his involvement with the Gang of Eight. Keep him on a very short leash President Trump.
My Senator in FL, haven’t voted for him once and would never consider him for a viable candidate in 28. The Gang of Eight will always disqualify him as an easily led guy looking to fit in with the “big” guys, no matter what they represent.
Perhaps the point of Rubio as Sec State is to clarify his credentials before he has a chance to do more serious damage in higher office.
He can either succeed as part of Trump’s America First agenda … or … he can try to advance the Uniparty war agenda. If he exposes himself as Uniparty he will be restrained by the Boss and will then be cooked as a non-entity in future politics. Either way, America wins.
For the time being Marco will be an apprentice with the master watching for the time when he can be unleashed, or not. There will be failures and then more intensive training but at some point Marco must equal the master.

I’ve despised Rubio since he was part of the Gang of Eight Amnesty group, but I read his Opening Statement last evening and he’s certainly got the gist of the America First people, or his speechwriter has it.
I sure would like to know what President Trump was thinking about nominating Marco. I would’ve thought Ric Grenell would’ve been his choice rather than Marco. I was a little shocked, so I hope he will surprise us all with a patriotic America First Secretary of State performance.
