This is the first MAGA rally since the attempted assassination of President Trump exactly a week ago in Pennsylvania. This is also the first rally since President Trump announced his 2024 campaign running mate, Senator JD Vance (selected from within team Thiel/Musk). President Trump and JD Vance will appear together. The goal of the Trump campaign is to retain the unification of the republican party as rebranded under the 2024 MAGA banner.

She has a good point: his own kids have told him to reduce the use of “I”. Language is meaningful to voters. We’re trying to get him to persuade as many people as possible to his side.
It’s unfortunate that so many voters vote not on issues, but on personality of the candidate.
The number 1 complaint of Trump’s personality is that he is ego-centric. His use of language can indeed suggest that to people who work all day and don’t get to see his rallies that last a long time so they don’t get to see his humor or his self-deprecation.

You say that is the number one complaint and it sounds as if you think it has merit. In fact the opposite is true. What you call a complaint is an attack and the purpose is to get him to shut up. It is the number one attack. Why? Because they can’t counter the truth of his message.

I’m 75 years old. Speech was one of my minors. I have read/studied countless research studies on the art of persuasion. Aristotle himself laid out what makes a speaker or writer persuasive.
I suggest you start with Aristotle’s Ars Rhetorica. Pay particular attention to his examination of a speaker’s ethos and how an audience comes to perceive that ethos.
You can, of course, read the entirety of his masterpiece. I’ll leave it to him, the master, and to modern research studies, should you decide to read any, to persuade you.
You can also read basic psychology. That’ll do the trick too.
Not only do you feel comfortable telling President Trump how he should speak, but you also feel comfortable telling people who disagree you to spiff up their education. I could care less about your educational background and I am not questioning it.
What I am responding to is your mistaken idea that telling President Trump how to speak is helpful as opposed to what it really is, which is supporting people who want to attack him, people who want to silence him or at the least make him less effective.
I understand your claim that you are “helping.” My point is that you are mistakenly helping people whose goal is to silence the President.

We see how much power and political violence that The Left’s path took; in their ‘saving democracy’ with their brand of ‘checks and balances’.
That has been the Left’s attempt at language potent enough to counter PDJT.

When was this? I just watched from the end of JD’s second time up to the beginning of Trump’s speech, the crowd was cheering loudly during the hand off and the last thing Trump said was “Thank you”.
Retired Magistrate here: I just watched the speech J.D. Vance gave in Michigan; it was 14 minutes long. The crowd was very receptive and seemed excited to see J.D. It was a good speech and no, President Trump did not tell J.D. to “go sit down.” Vance gave his speech and walked away through the tunnel to cheers.

My gosh, people need to give Vance a chance. President Trump has picked him as his Vice President and the two present an image of strength and “maleness.” Height wise they are about the same height and are both good looking men. Again, I know it should not matter, but it does. A lot of politics is optics and President Trump and Vance present a very good optic.
