Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

✝️ Weekly Devotional, June 10, 2024
Good morning, Dan.
🇺🇸 Make America GOSPEL’d Again! 👍

I enjoy these meaty Scripture-filled Days of Praise devotions and read them daily.
I have NEVER found anything wrong with them whatsoever.
Henry Morris was a member of David Jeremiah’s church. That speaks volumes.
I do not enjoy your editing these devotions – it detracts from the powerful message and makes you look prideful.
It would be better if you write your own devotions and post them so that we can judge and evaluate your superior mastery of Scripture and thoughts about it – and leave other people’s devotions to stand on their own.
Dear friend, I know that my exacting edits and notes are valued by only a small but faithful subset of Bible lovers here on CTH.
But they—and whosoever will—are the ones I do this for.
Please skip my posts in the future. Anyone may read their own “Days of Praise” online and spare themselves a similar grief.
I look forward to your lessons every single day.
My only regret is that I have missed the ones that you posted prior to my reading this section of The Treehouse.
I wanted to thank you many times for your taking the extensive time to post these lessons.
The perfect time to express appreciation.
Thank you.
Thank you, NorthernBelle. Your words mean a lot to me.
Did you know you can scroll back and read as many daily studies as you wish? Or copy and save a bunch to read later.
They should still be there, as many as you have patience for 🙂
Thank you! I didn’t know I could do that. I definitely will.
As a result, I will be digging into these studies, and many other tasks will be falling behind.
It will be time well soent.
Well said, WP. 🙂
Thanks, Garrison.
Dear GA/FL/Sibyl,
First of all, grace to you and yours!
My prayer: May the God of all grace grant that those among the Treehouse who treasure the Bible, as God’s Words, display uncanny kindnesses, so that those who don’t will have little to say about us on the last day.
I appreciate people who are willing to “split hairs” over the very few precise things really count in this fleeting life.
I’m glad you’re here on the branches.
🕶️✝️🕶️
👊✝️👊
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Howdy, jay 🙂
Howdy Garrison 🙂
Good morning Jay! 🙋♀️😁 The very best benches one could sit on…✝
Hey stevie yes indeed 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
Morning, dear stevie. Headed that way right now 💕
And…
Mornin’ Bets
Boy, am I with you. I’m trying to break myself of a bad habit I’ve acquired – Im forever saying either out loud or to myself, “I’ve gotta.” Too many gottas!
In fact, “gotta” go hand off more apricots! This year has been almost miraculous – at least 5 times an average harvest!
This is just one branch – unfortunately, many apricots are on the ground now and only good for critter feasts – which are also valuable and enjoyable to watch. 🐦 🐦⬛ 🦜
GOLLY!!!!! I never imagined that many!!!!!! 😮
Corny!
Your apricots are sublime. Look how perfect they are! Not a blemish on them and the tree looks so happy and green! Those look like sizeable apricots, too!
I wonder if a local church food pantry would come and help you pick? You get all you can and want, and let their youth group come and gather the rest as a public service?
If the animals eat the fruit, do the pits hurt them, or do they know to spit them out… and thus grow you more trees?
Looks every bit as a beautiful orchard.
Thanks Woo!
So far they have gone to the American Legion, a womens’ shelter, the Humane Society, several neighbors and friends, and especially to a friend whose living is growing and selling organic produce. I happen to know they are suffering a bit financially and hope this will help.
Tomorrow we’re delivering 40 pounds to one of the nicest, most giving people I know. She is one of those souls we all aspire to be, and will know just what to do.
It’s funny, but over the years we’ve learned that animals intrinsically know to stay away from that which is not good for them.
I think Our Father had a plan for this overabundance!
Peaches are on the way! ❤️
💕 💕 💕 💕 💕
🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
Did you read my mind??? I’ve just said I’ve gotta stop now and get myself to WM Jr to fill in. Normally I don’t mind but this morning for some reason I am dreading it. Just the necessaries, but even those which I buy their name brands of have gone hyperbolic price wise.
It’s a shame about your “groundlings”… but as I try to take care of His creations which find their way into our backyard I am glad His hand has given your lovely tree a quiet shake so as to provide.
St Francis would approve I think😉🌷
Can’t procrastinate any longer…off I go…
Lol, this fits my 2 grandchildren who live nearby. They both learned very quickly how difficult and challenging adulting is. No living in the basement for them. I’m proud of them.
I know you mentored them well, deb. You should be proud 💕 But we all have days like this, right??
Our first two grands, the twin lads, are on their way this fall. They are loaded with advice and lessons we’ve taught them. Still…
There is nothing like being in the big wide world where they will make mistakes and learn from them. They’ll be doing that without a safety net. Turning them over to God now 🙏🏻
Placing them in God’s perfect care and trusting them with all the lessons growing up is all we really can do. Your young men already have shown they are level headed and have the common sense you and Chris imparted to them. They will make you proud.
Just claim asylum, say your from another country, planet, free home and “stuff”.
Morning, Mr jay… Tis Monday… my grands call me “Bucca” ( don’t ask)…
So was making my special starBucca’s coffee with lots of milk and foam (that’s the secret to it). Walked away for just a second (I SWEAR!!), and, well, you know…
Just finished cleaning up the mess….
Yep….it’s Monday all right.
Maidin Mhaith Betsy so far fortunate that I haven’t spilled anything on my self yet today🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
The day is yet young, good sir 😉😎
Snicker!
Here, Greg….shouldn’t since you snickered…but I’ve saved this for you 😉😁💕
Whoa…….so there I wuz on a low carb diet when Betsy broke out some kryptonite and….
Yum!
Had to make that disappear before Joan started accusing me of licking that luscious chocolate cake!!!
Nope, I didn’t lick it, I ate it!
Thanks Betsy!
Seeeee??? I do look out for you 💕
No licking? Ate?
One bite I’ll bet 😎👍🏻
What what what!!!! I do believe the accusations of Greg1 licking all the pastries came from someone ELSE first. I believe that was Patience! I just thought it all in good fun and accused you… one little time. (Okay, maybe two. One time licking pastries and another licking a car as you tried to coerce Annie from her little red corvette!)
You’re such a hoot, Greg1.
😂 😂 😂
Goodness GRACIOUS woman!
You accused me of licking a, wait for it……*VW*!
(It WAS a funny commercial!)
Ain’t no full grown, red blooded, All American Redneck MAN gonna lick a *VW*!!!
Red Corvettes do look tasty, though….

Oh NO!!!!!!
Hahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!
Jinxed ya!! 😂
C’mon Betsy. Yer in the South.
All good stories gotta start with:
“So there I wuz…..”
(Sorry about the TRAGIC loss of coffee!)
About to go get a second cup since I was prohibited from partaking due to having a stress test earlier.
It ain’t RIGHT to start a day off without coffee!!!
Mornin’ Greg
Hope your stress test went well.
You were so helpful with all your input during (and after) Lloyd’s back surgery, I wanted to let you know he is in PT now and doing really well. Thank you! 😊
Thanks Corny!
As far as I know it went ok.
I’m 58. My Papaw died at 58. He had five heart attacks one summer, the last one got him. So getting to 58 seemed a bit concerning. (I remember when Dad made it to 58. With COPD, and having already had a heart stent, he didn’t expect to match Papaw’s age.) Dad when he was living, Mom, and my little brother were all diagnosed with a mitral valve prolapse. The sleep issues I have seem to mess with my heart. When it’s bad enough the way I feel seems to match what Mom goes through when her heart bugs her. That being said, I’ve only ever had two doctors pick up a murmur when checking me out.
I’m usually pretty active. My jobs have been physical for most of my life. I think I’m ok other than the sleep issues, which seem to somehow affect my heart in ways I don’t understand.
Mom has been telling me for years to get it checked out. I’ve put it off.
I had a problem Memorial Day weekend while out decorating graves. I had gone through really lousy sleep loss for several days. Of all times to start feeling funny, I got short of breath decorating Dad’s grave and sat down on the ground beside him while my son finished what I started.
Mom got concerned. I told her I was fine, just short of breath and my chest hurt a bit but it was the sleep loss.
She didn’t go for that.
So I went ahead and started the process of getting stuff checked out. Can’t be stressing Mom out. While I was wearing the heart monitor for a week I wanted to push it to where I know it skips beats, so I took a walk and trotted (not supposed to run after the last back surgery) up hills to get to around 155 bpm. Yep, there were the skips. At least I got them to show up while wearing the monitor. From rooting around on the web, that could be where I’m out of shape and had simply placed an oxygen demand on my heart for which I wasn’t ready.
I’ve walked a few miles a day for a week now, at a fast pace, trying to improve my conditioning a bit so I could see what happened on the test today. When I got to 155 bpm I asked the nurses if they saw a skip on the monitor, and they asked if I felt anything. I didn’t feel anything and they didn’t see anything.
I used to walk a lot, I’m trying to re-establish the habit. I had to maintain a four mile per hour pace with a rucksack once upon a time. I got back to that pace, minus the rucksack, after the back surgeries. Then after I had COVID a year and a half ago, I fell out of the habit of walking. Gotta get the habit BACK.
To my way of thinking, just a week of walking a few miles a day at a fast pace seemed to eliminate skipped beats around the 155bpm area, so it would seem that even a little exercise helps. I’m going to be doing a lot more.
We do know I have a valve that leaks a bit from an echocardiogram a few years ago. Frankly, I’d forgotten that until it was brought up in the cardiologist appointment. At least at the time it wasn’t enough to worry about according to the PA-C I saw last week.
I think I’m fine, just needing to get back in shape. And no, I don’t mean “get back in shape” for a 58 year old. We can do more than we think we can. I’ll find out more next month when I see the cardiologist, but I got some peace of mind from the stress test.
If there is anything in this waaaaaaay too lengthy post that you see that is an issue, point it out to me, please.
I’m happy Lloyd is doing well and in PT!!!
I learned that when I walked at a really fast pace, when I got to the point that I could, I could feel myself tightening up my core while walking. This is a good thing.
The stronger Lloyd can get his core, the less he will hurt over time.
While he’s in PT, it would REALLY be worthwhile to ask the PT’s for any and all possible core strengthening exercises.
There are ways to strengthen the core safely that I flat out didn’t know when I was recovering from the back surgeries.
I have come to believe that good core exercises do more to help the back pain than walking at a very fast pace.
Obviously sit-ups and likely crunches are a no-go for Lloyd. The PT’s can show him other ways to attack the core. If he goes at it diligently…….it will be immensely helpful.
I hope Lloyd gets to where he does not hurt at all and that he can physically do anything he wants!
Whew……I rambled on too long, sorry!
No, Greg
Not at all too long. We both worked in healthcare all our lives. Individuals can have very complicated issues – not everyone fits into a neat little category.
That’s why it’s so important to become your own best advocate and learn as much as possible about your own health, and being a wise consumer.
Lloyd has had rheumatoid arthritis for decades, which complicates some types of exercise.
I did have a little advice regarding “skipped beats.” I’ve had PVCs (pre-ventricular contractions) for 40 years – comes and goes. It can be a totally benign condition, but I did get checked out.
I also don’t sleep very much – and I do think that affects other problems.
Anyhoo, when I feel that familiar flutter or little somersault in my chest, I take a product called Cool Cayenne. It’s cayenne pepper in a capsule designed to to not dissolve till it reaches your intestine – keeps your stomach from feeling on fire! It actually stops the irregular beat every time and with no side effects.
You might want to give it a try After a clean bill of health, of course.
All the best.
Yes!!!! I’ve read Cayenne is excellent for that, sis!!! I’m sorry you have that issue but glad to know that it works!
It does, Bets! Like a charm.
The thing about the Cool Cayenne is that there is no associated heat in your stomach.
Corny, I’m sorry Lloyd has rheumatoid arthritis. That’s gotta be miserable. Add back issues and it has to be a nightmare.
And I’m sorry you have PVC’s, especially for so long!
Thank you for the insight on PVC’s. I’ll look for Cool Cayenne, and will get some for Mom, too.
I don’t care old you may get, Greg…. best medicine there is 🙏🏻💕
That and chocolate cake.
Glad you are on top of this. Your presence here is a joy 😘😽
Greg, I’ve been weaning myself off the internet and this was the last website that I’ve commented on for years. This week I decided I’m done posting… then I saw your comments today and yesterday to woo about being behind.. I’ve been there…lost every material thing I had during the Bush/Obama recession.. rental properties, vehicles, guns, tools, my business, everything….trust me when I say pride cometh before the fall…. Our Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways and I had two very great people enter my life…like Angels … they gave me sage advice that got me through it… I reckon He will do the same for you too. In my circumstances it was what I needed to understand exactly what it means to trust in and follow Christ and His word…. This is my last comment so I want to make it a good one…. Start a give, send, go so those of us that want to give you a hand up can do so… I Love you my East KY brother… embracing the struggle brings us closer to God and so does helping one another out… Keep the faith!
Bulldog, I must chime in …
Sorry to hear you’re leaving, but I do understand. Entirely.
Thankful that God delivered and gave you a firm place to stand!
Being close to Him – and knowing Him – is more precious than gold.
And often, that comes from suffering …
Blessings to you, Bulldog.
Nooooo…. BULLDOG!
I officially protest. I totally understand wanting to ween off the internet. It is a pathetic place, but we have a problem here. WE WILL MISS YOU. I don’t want one less friend, I need one more.
You have a place here and we care about you. Please… stay.
bulldog.. yes .. what jwoo said ♥️ !
God bless and be with you always, Bulldog 🕊🙏🏻
The American Bulldog:
Excellent post, thank you.
I look for your posts.
You have wisdom and knowledge along with a willingness to impart it to others.
I respectfully request that you keep posting here. It’s a good place because of people like you.
I’m sorry you’ve gone through so much. The book of Job is worth reading. In the end………God restored to Job much, much more than he had lost.
If I recall right, you’re a Marine. I was Army. We gotta keep you around to have some old fashioned picking on each other from time to time.
And if I’m wrong about you being a Marine……we still gotta have you around!
Greg1,
Glad you’re getting your ticker checked out. Some funny monkey business going on post covid, and with your history, sure doesn’t hurt to be sure all is well. Plus, score brownie points with Mom is a real plus.
So, if you’re skipping beats – do you drink decaf? Heard of caffeinated coffee wreaking havoc before and thus this person I know had a limit of one cup, else she was orbital.
Keep us in the loop. Hoping all is well!
Thanks Joan!
I drink decaf in the evenings, and regular in the morning. Usually I don’t get the skipping unless the sleep loss has been REALLY bad for several days, or if I’m doing something strenuous enough to get a really high heart rate.
I think if I can figure out how to sleep it’ll go a long way toward solving the problem. I do enough strenuous stuff that if it were really serious, there would be immediate consequences. Soooooooo more sleep, and more exercise are what I think will help…….unless I’m told otherwise next month.
The way things happened Memorial Day weekend made it impossible to put off getting checked out. Can’t be stressing out Mom. She’s amazing in every way.
LOL!!! Yeah…. then I’d sound like David Hogg or Bryan Williams.
So, NO!!! 😂
I’ve provided you with something to go with your coffee, dear sir.
See above!!
You’re welcome 😘👍🏻☕!!!
Jay,
I can just hear those boards creaking while making way to a pew!
No sausage for me please, but pile on the eggs and tomatoes- yum!
We’re planning on this nice red one this afternoon!
I’d take a box of those 😋😋
🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
Jay,
Would love love love to send them to you and have them be part of breakfast, but our tomatoes are for eating very quickly – didn’t plant as many this year as they go by so quickly.
The tomatoes you have in your photos are superb! 🍅
Good song choices, Jay.. Thanks.
Morning, benzy 💕 Best place to start a new week!
🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸 my pleasure
Ahhh! The simplicity, wholesomeness and sincerity of my youth. (thinking of 4th of July parades in very small Iowa towns)

… and the moss
hey nim ♥️ ♥️
hey, annie
every time I comment lately, it ends up getting displaced 20 comments down the page
I made this most comment right after your first photo of the moss-covered tree
i saw you ♥️
That moss is picturesque, but it is usually full of red bugs aka “chiggers” once the rains kick in, which are mites that burrow under the skin and itch something fierce.
The only known treatment is to paint the wound with nail polish hardener.
The Aboriginal Floridians told the Spanish to feather their beds with clumps of moss and had a good laugh!
Actually, chiggers don’t borrow under the skin. From the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension website (https://agrilifeextension.tamu.edu/library/landscaping/chiggers/):
“Contrary to common belief, chiggers do not burrow into a host’s skin or suck blood. They pierce the skin with their sharp mouthparts and inject a digestive enzyme, disintegrating skin cells for food. Itching usually begins within 3 to 6 hours after an initial bite, followed by development of reddish areas and sometimes clear pustules or bumps.”
—–
No matter how they do it, though, chigger bites drive me crazy! By the way, spreading sulfur granules around a chigger-infested area will drive them away (takes a few days, though). Sulfur also deters snakes.
Also, some dollar stores sell sulfur soap, which works well, too. You kinda stink, but I’d rather stink than itch!
Thanks for curing my ignorance. I would go broke buying sulphur. The snakes eat the spiders and palmetto bugs.
There are still pockets of Old Florida. And they are amazing.
♥️
Grew up with Spanish moss, moved away.
Bought several boxes, hung it all in my small backyard.
A haven of ‘home’.
2 days later, it was all gone.
Birds loved it !!
Poy, Some of my childhood was in Fl, and kids found multiple ways to play with moss!
So fun, even with chigger bites…
I once read a post of yours about finding your home place, thru Zillow. (I believe?)
Just this weekend, I tried to encourage my young adult granddaughter and her dreams.
She wants to find/live in small, close knit community with a plot of land and older home.
And, I mentioned you, Poy.
She’s different … hates the cell phone, enjoys slower pace of life, and wishes people still wrote letters …
Oh Miss.Della
How lucky you are to have a granddaughter such as she.
Bet we know where she got her delightful personality! 😊
So sweet of you, lady.
At 21 y/0, she’s trying to figure life out, you know.
And, very independent, strong willed.
I try to make little deposits when I can!
I’m writing her “a letter” this week on paper, haha!
Paper letters are my favorite! I give kids and grandkids stationery for presents to encourage just that.
Have to say I’m not too successful- bucking that huge text cabal!
That’s wonderful gift idea, lady!
I’m snagging that one.
Have always LOVED nice paper and stationery.
It’s actually getting hard to find.
I have some handwritten notes from my grandmothers of long ago and wouldn’t take anything for them.
Some of my cherished things!
Yes Della
Exactly!!! I have all my Grandma’s hand written letters – beautiful calligraphy! I hope someone loves them in the future.
My handwriting is far from calligraphy, but from the heart and you can hold it in your hands!
I have friends who live in Micanopy. Thanks for the pictures.
oh !
i love love love that song ..
and you’re very welcome mom ♥️
Broken German For a Broken Culture
This is a strange story: the driver of a train near Mannheim in Germany stopped his train and left the cab to sexually molest a young woman who was jogging alongside the tracks.
In the media accounts about the incident, the only way we can determine that the molester is a culture-enricher is that he is said to have spoken “broken German”.
One of the worst stories I saw was some years back in the UK.
A girl or young woman was raped. When she got free she ran for help. A taxi stopped and the driver raped her again. So horrific.
(I can’t remember now if the victim was maybe a teen ??)
Both rapists of course were ‘culture enrichers’, as you say.
Apparently, DEI hiring doesn’t work any better in Germany than it does here. In effect, it encourages racism and discourages competence. Your skills are much less important than “checking a box” for one “preferred” group or another
I see the Navy has eliminated a high school diploma or GED from requirements to join now. 😔
Someone the other day said, “if DEI is our strength, why do we keep having to lower standards?”
Good question. Right up there with – if we’re such a racist country, why is everyone from around the world breaking in?

Alexander the Great
(356-323 BC)
Macedonian king and military leader, dies at 32 probably from typhoid fever complicated by excessive wine though poisoning is a possibility, (or the 11th June)
Biography: By the age of thirty, Alexander created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from the Ionian Sea to the Himalayas. Undefeated in battle during his lifetime he is held up as one of history’s greatest military commanders.
The son of Philip II of Macedon, a northern Greek kingdom that had exerted control over all of Greece, Alexander was tutored by the philosopher Aristotle before succeeding his father after his death at just 20 in 336 BC.
In 334 BC Alexander set off on campaign against the waning but still powerful Persian Empire with 40,000 men. Leading his army personally he defeated Persian forces along the Ionian coast and in Egypt before comprehensively defeating the Persians with a smaller army at the Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BC.
Alexander went on to vanquish Bactria, marrying Roxana, daughter of a Bactrian leader in a mass wedding. In 327 BC he even crossed the Indus River to invade India before turning back.
Alexander’s genius was in conquering territory and his efforts to establish a long-term empire were short-lived. His early and mysterious death, perhaps from fever or poisoning in 323 BC, also led to his empire’s break-up. However his image of a divine all-conquering golden hero would set the template for a leader in the Greco-Roman world ever after.
Thread of photographers who patiently waited to capture the shot of a lifetime
(Very interesting account here if you can access)
Great pictures!!
I don’t have X/Twitter account but could access the thread through Nitter:

My favorites:
I had “won” (non-monetary) our local photography contest with a shot I took with a 110 camera @ our local Fall Parade in B/W.
She (photo club teacher) would not submit my photo “up” the line to state contest as my photo “needed” a release from the individual in the photo.
Now I did not know it at the time, but since the subject of said photo was a politician & was either current Governor of our state or was former Governor, now as a I understand it, public figures don’t really need a release.
Anyway, I was imparted advice from my photography club teacher (she was also my math/algebra teacher in middle school).
That the only way to “make” a living as a photographer was to be incredibly lucky to get a shot that everyone would pay money for or you spend years trying to manufacture one to make money with as can be seen by how long some of these shots took to get.
.
Even tho I still have a passing interest in photography, don’t think I still have my Nikon EM stuff … I do have my crappy old Digital Minolta D-10 (500 bucks at the time I bought)with a resolution lower than pretty much every cell phone ever made in the last decade or two even, tho having a real camera allows you to control shutter speeds and aperture for those more award winning potential photos.
Lots of potential places to photograph here tho …. sigh, no time to do so.
Always kept the Minolta in the glove box of my company van when I was a forklift road tech, got a few good shots of birds of prey from time to time.
Some of the best ones was only a witness to … a bird of prey taking out an interloping bird of prey @ exit 59 I-70 off ramp …. swooped in … ki!!ed the interloper dead …. dropped to the grass motionless after a fall of a good 50-75 feet.
Wish dash cams were invented back then, could have made some money on a few things seen thru my windshield.

Val,
I just love your pics of Kauai! We went there 10 years ago for our 25th. What a spectacular place. We were waterlogged by noon every day! Grew up on the ocean, but live in the desert, so salt water just bekons. We haven’t been away since for various reasons, but have such lovely memories of that idyllic island. Thanks!
THE NEXT BEST THING TO DO
Seek if you have not Found. “Seek, and ye shall find.” Luke xi. 9
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss.” If you ask for things from life instead of from God, you ask amiss, i.e., you ask from a desire for self-realization. The more you realize yourself the less will you seek God. “Seek, and ye shall find.” Get to work, narrow your interests to this one. Have you ever sought God with your whole heart, or have you only given a languid cry to Him after a twinge of moral neuralgia? Seek, concentrate, and you will find.
“Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters.” Are you thirsty, or smugly indifferent – so satisfied with your experience that you want nothing more of God? Experience is a gateway, not an end. Beware of building your faith on experience, the metallic note will come in at once, the censorious note. You can never give another person that which you have found, but you can make him homesick for what you have.
“Knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” “Draw nigh to God.” Knock – the door is closed, and you suffer from palpitation as you knock. “Cleanse your hands” – knock a bit louder, you begin to find you are dirty. “Purify your heart” – this is more personal still, you are desperately in earnest now – you will do anything. “Be afflicted” – have you ever been afflicted before God at the state of your inner life? There is no strand of self-pity left, but a heartbreaking affliction of amazement to find you are the kind of person that you are. “Humble yourself” – it is a humbling business to knock at God’s door – you have to knock with the crucified thief. “To him that knocketh, IT SHALL BE OPENED.”

Good morning all!
Yesterday was a day for shopping with Sherry. Got a new Cat tower and Gabby the cat doesn’t know what to think about it yet.
You wanna know when the Atlantic hurricanes will start showing?
Watch the weather in India. The current heatwave there is starting to break as the Monsoonal rains are moving in. When the Monsoon is fully established in India it will be time to start looking out for serious development in the Atlantic.
Globally the Tropical Cyclone Accumulated Energy Index is running about 68% of the mean for this time of the year. The ACE for Typhoons in the Western North Pacific basin are only 1/3rd of what tit usually is by now, which is a near record low. That basin is where the most powerful storms form. Tropical Cyclone activity in the Indian Ocean basin is also well below the mean. Click on the link below to see the current data.
So even if it turns out that there is a hyperactive season in the Atlantic this year the Global ACE (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) is likely to be well below the mean because of weak seasons in the NW Pacific basin and the Indian Ocean.
Just remember that when the alarmists ambulance chasers start claiming what is happening in the Atlantic is due to climate change as they inevitably will when things start popping. Climate Change is supposed to be a global phenomena!

Mods! Another one awaiting approval for no apparent reason.
half way down 4th paragraph; “,…1/3 of what t-i-t usually is by now.,…”
I put the hyphens, so my repeating of your inadvertent error didn’t put me in moderation, lol.

Morning
The younger son took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. Luke 15:13
Such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11
We … were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:3-6
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. I John 4:10
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. If; when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Rom. 5:8, 10
Evening
As Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Col. 3:13
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Luke 7:41-42
I forgave thee all that debt; shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow-servant, even as I had pity on thee? Matt. 18:32-33
When ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26
Put on…. as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any. Col. 3:12-13
How oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Matt. 18:21-22
Charity … is the bond of perfectness. Col. 3:14

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. – Psalm 16:11
In her book Joyful, author Ingrid Fetell Lee suggests that “joy is the most basic building block of happiness,” and that “joy is hiding in plain sight.” Though her book is not faith-based, she is accurate in her assessment that “we all have this impulse to seek out joy… The drive toward joy is the drive toward life.”
The Bible assures you that joy is not hidden, nor is it elusive. It is found in ever deepening relationship with God Himself.
Pastor and apologist Tim Keller said, “Joy is the thing everyone is after and yet no one seems to have.” Joy can be found in the promise Jesus made when He said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
Today’s verse reflects God’s guidance and His presence as sources of joy. As C.S. Lewis wrote, “Make it known to me, God. Yes, the path long-term of what being a Christ follower looks like, but also the short-term. Tonight. Tomorrow. Next week. The next hour.”
As you continue to learn more about the Lord from His Word, you travel the pathway to fullness of joy. Thank the Father for the blessings and love He gives as you commune with Him in prayer and heed the Holy Spirit’s direction. Joy has become scarce in America, including among government officials.
Pray that they will be introduced to the only Source of true joy and find in Him the life everlasting that no one can take away.

His unfortunate casualness regarding “Red Flag Laws” presumes too much. Most people have no idea that a “Red Flag” report will cause the police to define you as “armed and dangerous”. You will not be treated well at all. The police response will be based on “officer safety” which means a SWAT team busting in your door at 5am. They’ll be ready to smash your door, shoot your dog, and shoot you without much provocation.
So, treat you like you were the guy in charge of the Airport in Arkansas named after Bill, then?
????? Well, your metaphor completely lost me. Sorry.
Verse of the Day for Monday, June 10, 2024
✟
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1:4 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
LOVE IN ACTION
Unexpected kindness touches the heart
A listening ear can yield a fresh start
When in a quandary of the feeling kind
Tis hard to explain what we left behind
Feelings are not facts justified away
Kept hidden from view for another day
Sooner or later they come into the light
Where the future is happier and bright
Where circumstances have mightily changed
And our flawed thinking has been rearranged
Angels surround us of the human kind
That reveal the truth to the human mind
When we speak from the heart no sound returned
We will find what God planned to be learned
We cannot know the perfect mind of God
We can only concur it is to be awed
His ways are not our ways nor ever will be
And His thoughts not what we can foresee
Where there seems to be no possible way
His love in action brings a brighter day
The sadness and loneliness is lifted
With a new sense of purpose we are gifted
Happiness returns and we’re flying high
To hopeless heartache the end draws nigh
God knows the beginning and the end
He knows recesses of the heart bend
When healing occurs and we are set free
The promise of tomorrow comes to be

They’re really getting desperate. Hamas started and war and is losing that war badly. The leftists only started wanting the war stopped when it become apparent that Israel was winning.
In war and battles, shorter is better when it comes to the cumulative count of casualties. This conflict has been going on pretty much my entire 68 year life time. It will only end when there is a clear winner. Win this thing Israel. End the Hamas for good.

Just left the Dr. turns out I have a reason to be taking the Ivermectine and fanbanazole and curcumin.
Growth in my nose, need to get biopsied, asap.
So, not great news, but I’m o.k. with it.
Will have to go about 300 miles away, to get to “the big city” in order to go to a hospital that can address it.
Prayers appreciated,..
✝️❤️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
You probably already know about this, Dutch.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/13312-mohs-surgery
So far, worked twice for me.
Keeping head up right when bending down for 10 days mattered.
Hardest part of recovery was blowing nose and face washing.
-Qtips n patience. 😎
-Blessings
“Is this true?” patience,…lol.
Yes it is.
Dutchman,
I’m sorry you must deal, but….Patience is correct. Assisted at many Mohs procedures. They are very successful – and patients are kept very comfortable. Many conversed and even joked with us during surgery.
I will gladly pray for you, and know you will be well.
And….I would continue Ivermectin and fenbendazole. 🙏
Thank you, I did not know about the MOHS proceedure.
Dr. said this has been growing awhile,..so its urgent but not emergency that I get biopsy, and he would not discuss next step after that.
I think I am dealing o.k. mostly concerned about my far better half.
The only actual pain suffered was (as I call it) the numbing needle that was inserted on the upper right side of nose / at ‘bone’; near eye. The other ones were tiny pinches.
The removal was quite quick. Two aides held outer eye area firmly while nurse mopped and dropped Qtips. It was seared.
Then waited (Mohs) about an hour while they tested for the margins/to see if they got it all.
I did need a bit more removed,5 minutes,
then seared it,
compress packed/ bandaged it for next day for plastic surgeon to cover the quarter size hole;
with forehead meat/from between the eyebrows.
The only pain afterwards was a tiny pinching sensation when blinking my eye; as with healing reduced swelling causing stitches’ knot in outer corner of eye to stick out a bit. So I cut the thread and no more pinching. -There was never any actual pain.
Cold/ice will be your friend
and only one pain pill the first night to take off any possible edginesses… to sleep.
The second one a year later was even easier! Not even 5 minutes to remove, waited about 40 minutes for lab testing then 4 stiches and done.
The not knowing can be the hardest thing – for me anyway.
Awww, dutchman
It’s so thoughtful of you to worry about others.
But, these types of cancers (if it is) tend to be slow growth. Check with your physician – he or she is way more qualified than I.
If you have a Mohs technique done it is pretty assured to address your concerns for a very long time. Essentially, the excised tissues are sent (while everyone waits) to the lab within the facility.
All the margins have been stained with a marker, and when none of the margins has any cancer cells present, the surgery is complete. That way no more tissue is removed than is necessary.
I will continue to pray for you and your other half! 🙏
PRAYERS UP – 🙏🙏🙏 – GOD GO WITH YOU !!! ❤️
Done. Good luck and be well, friend. 🙂
Thank you all, for your kind words and prayers.
Food has been gettimg steadily less appealing to me for some time, not so much flavor as the texture, and I thought it was because they were putting bug flour or Mrna in it,…
Then in last two weeks its become painful to swallow, so I pretty much stopped, except ice cream, yogurt, insure, etc.
Will be heading home, so we can prepare for a road trip, then 300 miles to get to a hospital that can deal with this, the cost we readily pay for living rural.
Medicated right now, so maybe it shows, lol.
It’s our honor to pray, Dutchman. Reading Patience and Soazburrolady’s comments, I pray that whatever they decide in your treatment, it will be pain-free, swift, and successful for many, many years to come. Such a wealth of information on this Tree. Such good friends here.
EVENING PRAYERS
Peace and Tranquility Prayers
Prayer for a Calm Heart
Lord of Peace, as evening falls, I seek the calmness only You can provide. Quell the storms of my mind and replace anxiety with Your peace. As the world quiets down, let my heart do the same. May Your presence envelop me so that I may know tranquility tonight and always. Amen.
Serenity at Day’s End
Heavenly Father, with the closing of this day, I ask for serenity. As the night sky displays its vast beauty, let my soul mirror its peacefulness. Help me to let go of the worries of the day and trust in Your loving care. May Your peace reign in my heart and home tonight. Amen.
Prayer for Restful Stillness
Dear God, in the stillness of this evening, I come to You seeking rest for my soul. Help me to lay down the burdens I’ve carried today and find comfort in Your arms. Grant me peace that passes understanding and a rest that restores my spirit. May my sleep be undisturbed and my dreams be sweet. Amen.
Nighttime Whisper for Peace
Creator of All, as I listen to the night’s gentle whisper, I ask for peace to settle over me. Let Your tranquility wash away the noise of the day. In this quiet hour, I lean on Your promise of peace, a heavenly balm to my weary soul. Keep me in perfect peace as I keep my mind stayed on You. Amen.
Prayer for Gentle Rest
Omnipotent and Gentle Lord, at the end of this day, I seek the gentle rest that You so lovingly provide. May my mind be at ease, my body relax, and my spirit find harmony. Help me to release every concern into Your capable hands and sleep in the assurance of Your protection and peace. Amen.
Paul Simon – Slip Slidin’ Away (Official Audio)
Lyrics:
Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away
I know a man
He came from my hometown
He wore his passion for his woman
Like a thorny crown
He said, “Delores, I live in fear
My love for you’s so overpowering
I’m afraid that I will disappear”
I was waiting for this one. I translated. The footage of the actual hostage rescue from the heart of a hostile are in Gaza with limitations of confidential parts.
If you have followed on me you know my admiration to the YAMAM the most elite counter terror unit in Israel.
You can see their logo at the top corner. Here they rescue the three male hostages. The woman was rescued simultaneously at another structure very close. They arrived with a civilian truck into the heart of the populated area that had hundreds of terrorists. They went in with ladders (in one of the locations). The escape vehicle got stuck mid the busiest road and hundreds of terrorists closed in on them and a rescue team was activated with helicopter gun fire and other aerial support.
The operation will be called “Operation Arnon” on the name of the Commander who gave his life at this rescue.
❤️😊🇮🇱☀️ David: Thank you for the translation and for the description.
That makes it so much more meaningful.
I had watched this video (or some of it) on twitter today, but could not understand the high-energy level Hebrew.
I like the reassuring fist bump between YAMAM and Almog.
In the last day or so, every time I heard reports of IDF, Police, but NO mention of your beloved YAMAM, I would say to myself: YAMAM!
What an AMAZING and brave rescue!
We are so blessed to have you here with us tonight, David.
I’ve been praying a lot today for you, your Wife, and all of Israel.
Shalom to you all.
🇮🇱 🎶 Am Yisrael Chai = The Nation of Israel LIVES! ❤️ 🇮🇱
Thank you. ❤️.
Your guys got ’em, David. All of Texas is proud of you!!
Awsome!
The IDF’s original idea still holds true. Hamas is going to have to be completely deconstructed. Deconstructed to a point where it no longer exists as an organization, a doctrine, or a location. Israel will never be safe so long as Hamas exists.
David. What a terrific video! Thanks so much for translating it. What a feeling it must have been for these three men to be among their brothers again. The IDF is to be commended.
God bless them.

Treeper friends with special hat tip to Slowcobra and Greg1,
I am sorry I missed your posts yesterday. I turned in… there was so much going on in my mind. No joke, I’m pretty scared to death about Savannah studying from home and I make some huge mistake causing her to be a “drop out” in her final year of high school… her online courses being out of state and not acceptable to the powers that
beseem.Dropping into homeschooling in a senior year is just outrageous, especially if I haven’t touched the course material in 35 years… but I see a powder keg in that school of hers and the administration is running full steam ahead to catastrophe. I really just wish ALL THE PARENTS would keep their kids home and DEMAND CHANGE. It’ll probably come to that… sadly.
So, I’m taking an incredible RISK and moving forward. I did make contact with a homeschool co-op and they mentioned there was online schooling in Indiana to get her diploma… if I didn’t want to give her the diploma myself. I guess that is what’s done in Indiana – the parent issues the diploma.
I know the Potter’s School is good rigorous curriculum. So, my insecurity is straight from the devil. Does not God Himself declare righteous what the world claims is fruitless, undeserving, or “less”? King David wasn’t supposed to be a King according to the world’s standards. God decides. Not me. Not you. Not anyone else who sits in some self-appointed seat of “authority”. For as long as Savannah is taking learning to drive then she might be 21 years old anyway and then that stupid probationary license won’t mean a darned thing!
You are so precious to me. Such good, good friends. I am humbled and I pray for each of you often throughout the day. It is super lonely to do this, but you friends make me laugh, add levity, encourage us with prayers, and offer a respite in this thread. I have so much gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I went to an interview this evening and got a second job at our local grocery.
My interviewer’s mother passed away of pancreatic cancer this morning, so please hold Brad in your prayers. His mom is in West Virginia and he will travel back there for her funeral on Wednesday. He’s worked for this grocer for 27 years and we got along quite well.
It is nothing glamourous, but I don’t need glamour. I have enough “serious” with my day job. This is just stocking shelves and I truly thought they would be paying about $10 to $13 an hour, but he was most generous and offered me $15. I’m only asking for 20 hours of work a week or less, which may fluctuate a little depending upon their needs.
It might be a nice segway into my retirement job, too, so I’m a little excited about it. My day job is so sedentary that it’ll be nice to get some exercise and move about!
I get a daily devotional and this was today’s:
Today, God wants you to know that your prayers are being answered.Prayers are not like shopping lists with items that can be ticked off. If you remember that a prayer is a conversation with God, you will see God respond every day.
Many blessings on you and yours, Treeper friends.
Oh Sis
My heart breaks with all the challenges you face.
When my first husband took off, I worked 12 hour days Monday through Friday, and six hours Saturday and Sunday to make ends “come close.” It was difficult, but totally worth it. You are so motivated, and you are tough. You Will Prevail. And I will pray every day for you and Savannah. ❤️
Corny,
Please, don’t worry or be sad. I am not seeing it as a negative. I am looking at this as an OPPORTUNITY and a worthy endeavor! I sleep terribly anyway, so maybe this exercise will get me into better shape and in condition to sleep better.
I’ll get out of my isolation and get more involved with my community. Even if it is just blessing things as I put them on a store shelf.. they’re going to go to someone. The manager I met today is really nice, and he spoke very highly of his own supervisor, who is also really nice, so I hope that I am going to inherit a nice little group of people.
“Dropping into homeschooling in a senior year is just outrageous, especially if I haven’t touched the course material in 35 years…”
nah… Think of it kind of like sundance says when he speaks to how we (treehouse readers) know more than the politicians (because they’re in their silos).
with your hands tied behind your back, you have more knowledge and street-smarts than the ‘teachers’ at savannah’s school. they are not focused on education (as you know), and their political agenda (in their silos) is stopping them from using their credentials as they should be.
therefore, you have the power, knowledge, and strength to be better for savannah’s senior yr home schooling than you give yourself credit for.
you have totally got this!

Incredible! Such power in those wings.
I am plopping this here because I don’t want to hijack a thread. I’ve searched the threads and cannot remember WHO still has the “raw sewage ” smell after the “virus” I have it as well. I had “IT” in Sept ’21. No big deal. Lost smell for a couple of days and came back. Had IVM but didn’t need it. Used all the front line docs stuff. We had it on hand just in case. Neither of us were ill. Jan 2023, a scaredy-cat wanted me to help her test. I told her not to bother but…..I did. I wasn’t worried, as I had visited many, many people who tested positive that family members wouldn’t visit. I never got the least bit of a sniffle but I lost smell.
Anyway, my point is that I have not had much sense of smell for a year and a half. I clean houses. My eyes tear yet I cannot smell the bleach I’m using. I clean the coop and cannot smell a thing(yay). Mr. Gunnar’s Mom and I have pinpointed this loss of smell to almost the exact time that I have started snoring. I don’t know….. Maybe my sniffer can’t decipher maybe his new soap? but my brain and throat are affected. I am doing the essential oil, spice sniffing, and a few others. Anyone having similar weirdness??
PS.
Because it is so late, I’m going to put this on again in the morning. Thanks to all.
