Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Sleepy pup
Morning, Feisty 😊 Sweet lad. He looks “comfty”, as my darling granddaughter (16 today!! Where oh where did the time go???) used to say when she was four 💕
Morning All 🤗
Tis CURSDAY!!
WOOF!!
Serenaded
Mornin’ Bets
😃 😀 😄 😁
The posin’ pup reminds me of my granddaughters when they reached preteen years – suddenly it was as if they had just graduated from modeling school when a camera appeared.
Within a nanosecond, they went from candid to “the pose.” They could never understand why we were 😃!
Hahaha!!! Oh I know exactly what you mean, girl 😂!!! Something I noticed as well with the first of my granddaughters to reach that age. But I must say when a pose was required, say for when a photo was wanted with her older twin brothers, she knew exactly how to do it so it didn’t look false or contrived, but rather ladylike and natural. She is my incredibly talented artist one, so I figured that’s how she knew…observation in art. Or from her mother..
Because she obviously didn’t get it from me. I’m still trying to determine if I have a best side to offer to the cameras, though I do my dead level best to avoid those 😂 So far , after decades, I’m still looking. Maybe I should take lessons from her 🤔 😎💕
I hear you, Bets
My children are always trying to sneak a snap of me. I feel the same about my pictures as I do seeing myself in the “morning mirror!” 😱
I used to cross the Welsh/English border to do my big city shopping in the gorgeous city of Chester. I was in my favourite department store, Marks & Spencer’s, walking with purpose towards one of their fabulous clothing sections when I accidentally turned just as I was walking past a narrow mirror.
I remember physically reeling from the shock of seeing my mother in that mirror, Corny, and trying to make sense of how on earth she was in Chester!! My reaction was a millisecond, and the realization that it was I who looked back at me was the same. WOW!!! When, I asked myself, did THAT happen??
We had a friend in Wales who refused to be photographed. Every picture I have of our group of family and friends shows all smiling or otherwise occupied, but all we ever had of her was the back of her head. Didn’t understand at the time because she was attractive (she was about 60 at the time). We thought so anyway. She obviously didn’t think so….I get it now!! 😂 😂 😂
Bets,
I can so relate, the response is visceral! And, here is something that won’t surprise you – had a kitty named Chester! He was a beautiful ginger – played carefully with my pet mice (Amos and Andy) and never chased my parakeet, Cosmo.
Just an aside. We love the Welsh offerings on Britbox, but have such difficulty following dialog – written and spoken! I am surmising that the language was quite the challenge for you!
I know a few useful phrases. It’s the lilt that I love so much.
Occasionally we’d get some real diehard Welsh Nationalist in the little upmarket gift shop I worked in in Llangollen. The hardcore ones believe only Welsh should be spoken.
I already had one strike against me…I was an outsider to them. And worse, an American. The locals adopted me and I was grateful for that. But the Welsh who were true Welsh speakers, though they could have spoken English? Well, they were another story.
Anyway, continuing…
I understood when they asked me in Welsh if I spoke it, knowing full well I did not. So I would just smile with Southern charm and say, “No, but I do speak perfect English, if that is of any use to you.” And of course it was.
To be fair, my bestie who I worked with was born in Wales but didn’t speak a word of it either. Fair play, she signed up for a course to learn but gave it up after (if I remember rightly) after 6 lessons. They would have had the same from her 😂
It’s a hard language to learn…
So now I’ll never think of Chester again without seeing your gorgeous lad in all his glory in my mind’s eye.
You may like this British series “Sampson and the Church Mice”. It ran and ran and was so delightful. So far I’ve been able to find only two episodes, which is a shame. I’ve posted them before…time for an encore. Sampson may remind you of Chester who was as ginger as they come…
Enjoy!! 💕
Oh Bets, Just finished watching both episodes. So well done! The illustrations are delicious. That is my sweet Chester to a T.
At one point in the video, Chester whistles – both my pups woke up and ran out their doggie door! 🙃
Thanks so much! ❤️
Oops! Not Chester – Samson whistles. Ha hs
My pleasure, Corny. Such delightful children’s books. I was captivated by the illustrations. I bought them all and lingered over each page.marveling at all the activities which engaged the mice. They went out of print at one time, but I believe they’ve republished them. Bought a set as a present for my now high school graduating twin grandsons when they were born. For the illustrations alone, I might add, though the stories were an absolute joy.
The best of the BBC before they turned to the dark side.
So glad you enjoyed them. Griff Rhys Jones, the narrator, is a great friend of King Charles, for whatever that little useless piece of information is worth 😁👍🏻
Info is always good – no matter if seemingly trivial. I think sometimes it’s those little bits that make us remember things fondly.
Remembering every beloved, faithful companion who took us as we were and loved us all the same 💕 🕊
Dinah in Heaven
She did not know she was dead,
But, when the pang was o’er,
Sat down to wait her Master’s tread
Upon the Golden Floor,
With ears full-cock and anxious eye
Impatiently resigned;
But ignorant that Paradise
Did not admit her kind.
Persons with Haloes, Harps, and Wings
Assembled and reproved;
Or talked to her of Heavenly things,
But Dinah never moved.
There was one step along the Stair
That led to Heaven’s Gate;
And, till she heard it, her affair
Was –she explained–to wait.
And she explained with flattened ear,
Bared lip and milky tooth —
Storming against Ithuriel’s Spear
That only proved her truth!
Suddenly far down the Bridge of Ghosts
That anxious spirits climb
She caught that step in all the hosts,
And knew he had come.
She left them wondering what to do,
But not a doubt had she.
Swifter than her own squeal she flew
Across the Glassy Sea;
Flushing the Cherub every where,
And skidding as she ran,
She refuged under Peter’s Chair
And waited for her man.
There spoke a Spirit out of the press,
‘Said:–“Have you any here
That saved a fool from drunkenness,
And a coward from his fear?
“That turned a soul from dark to day
When other help was vain;
That snatched it from Wanhope and made
A cur turn man again?”
“Enter and look,” said Peter then,
And set the Gate ajar.
“If know aught of women and men
I trow she is not far.”
“Neither by virtue, speech nor art
Nor hope of grace to win;
But godless innocence of heart
That never heard of sin.
” Neither by beauty nor belief
Nor white example shown.
Something a wanton–more a thief–
But–most of all–mine own.”
“Enter and look,” said Peter then,
“And send you well to speed;
But, for all I know of women and men
Your riddle is hard to read.”
Then flew Dinah from under the Chair,
Into his arms she flew–
And licked his face from chin to hair
And Peter passed them through!
Rudyard Kipling
Kipling always had a story, a moral, and a good ear. Thanks, Auntie Bet
He did, Dave. Oh my goodness he did💕
This one brought a couple of tears. Don’t know where they came from….
You are so welcome.
(And thank you from my heart, dearest sir, for making me smile. Suddenly I am seeing the faces of those I love in a far away land who always called me that name when I was there a lifetime ago…bless you for the precious gift 😘)
A few days ago marked the two year anniversary of my precious boy crossing the bridge….
Cherish those memories…..
I remember, Aggiegirl 💔 As if it were yesterday, sis.
Thank you Betsy! I miss him so much…the house is quiet…the other two are not barkers….Blaze used to bark just to hear his voice!
They don’t stay with us long enough…
No…they do not. Their only fault is that they leave us too soon, as someone else truthfully and poignantly said 💕
God gave dogs a short life to protect their owners. If dogs lived for 30 or 40 years the grief caused by their passing would be unbearable to most.
Or their grief if we were to pass before them, Greg.
I always think of that most wonderful film “Greyfriar’s Bobby” (Disney, long before it crumbled into the satanic abyss).
Saw it when I was young and it broke my heart, which has never recovered. The mark it left shows itself when I see a dog mourning its master or furry companion.
Yes, Aggiegirl
There really is only one downside to having pets. I usually can’t remember breakfast, but am always acutely aware of the dates I’ve lost my best buddies. No matter how long they stay – it’s never enough. 😔
Nice to see you, Aggiegirl. Feeling all better, I hope?!
Hi, JWoo…am finally getting ‘there’,thank you for thinking of me….this one was the worst! I guess I can safely say my JNJ jab has finally lost its ‘abilities’…LOL!
Oh wow, Aggs, I so sorry.
It’s strange how the powers that be state that the newest iterations of COVID are less potent, however I am hearing from yourself and others that this newest round is a bit severe – certainly not as severe as the outbreak in 2021, but it seems more egregious than the 2023 versions.
They did state there would be more outbreaks, though, and we certainly wouldn’t know it if this was some newfangled laboratory experiment launched out for the masses… again.
They’re pretty insistent on kowtowing us into submission.
Stay strong, friend. Blessings on you.
Hi Woo
Wouldn’t they just love to launch the latest iteration of plague so we can all enjoy “cheat by mail” again?
I have become an Ivermectin fan girl. Being asthmatic, even a cold can quickly become serious. I am amazed at how effective the Ivermectin is. Those who made it almost impossible to obtain for strictly political reasons, deserve prosecution.
Hi Corny,
You are correct – which is what happened, plus an underlying, undiagnosed auto-immune disease that I suspected but didn’t know I had until just this year. When people post that COVID was a nothing-burger, I become incensed because I said “goodbye” to my daughter. It was terrible. I was almost declined the monoclonal antibody infusion until I “coughed” and it popped my O2 level up just enough to move forward. They were just going to wheel me next door to the ER, and when finished with treatment, the nurse just poured me into my vehicle – and God knows how I drove home. I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on therapeutics and couldn’t talk for four months. Only in one octave because the meds eroded my esophagus.
Girl, it gives me PTSD thinking about it.
Then, we EMBRACE GOD. Vengeance is Thine, saith The Lord. We can hold Him to His Promises – for He IS so much in love with us, His precious children. The crimes will not go unnoticed or unaccounted for.
Lord help us in our hearts to forgive and move past, though I’m not sure how well I’m doing on the forgiveness part. Criminals need to be prosecuted… and in my opinion… expelled from our country. Let them find their shelter in another country they can pledge their allegience to. (Though, I strong doubt any country would WANT them.)
Oh Woo,
My heart breaks 💔 hearing that. My husband has done CPR on me twice – apparently he still wants me around. Ha ha! I won’t subject you to some of my ER stories (and my husband was an ER/OR nurse), but, I learned I am ultimately the one who is in charge and must save myself.
There are 3 major essentials: have the meds you need on hand, take them at the first sign of trouble, and….have a doc who can put up with you!
Please tell your hubs how much we appreciate that you are still here with us, my new friend and sister in Christ. We have some super good men represented in this Tree. Praise God for you all!
Sweet Woo
Must have something in my eye 😢 ❤️
Morning, dear Woo 💕 I left Corrie ten Boom’s lovely tapestry poem for you the other day and hope you saw it. If not, I’ve got it ready to go and will happily repost 😘 👍🏻
Betsy – I did see it, my blessed friend. I’m not sure whether I commented on it, or just upvoted. I would love to read it again when my head is clearer and I can absorb in a relaxed state.
I’m in a bit of a DAZE lately. I’m sorry if I have been so intermittent in posting and my personal attentiveness. I hope you know how much we love you and our Treepers.
In my small world, there is an onslaught of activity with the globalized demons, and I am assessing risk and choosing what to engage in… on a case-by-case basis… a small dose of it I posted earlier today on here about our software systems being full-on wonky.
I’m gauging my involvement and response taking into consideration:
concern for saving energy for the long haultrying to discern in what I should interject in and what I should not “not my circus, not my monkeys”the best way of dealing with sociopaths and narcissists is to ignore themand lastly it’s a choice I am making to keep my eyes fully on Christ and not look at the demons or their plans as my eyes need to be set fully on HIM for my sanityPhew, Nelly, slowly at first… then all at once. I am seeing some things happening in real time, especially with software operation and authentication, that have me highly concerned with what’s up ahead for those trying to transact business.
I am the bookkeeper and office manager of the small business I work for and I handle all of the money – so my advice to our owner must be measured, so that I don’t appear hysterical – but geez – if people don’t understand the chaos now – God help them when their boats start filling with water and they look around dazed at why their butts are wet.
There’s also some things going on here locally, politically, that I am watching very carefully and somehow “things” keep getting dropped into my lap and “knowledge” that I am unsure of what to do with – but feel the necessity in sharing what I know from first-hand account. It’s affecting my ability to move about freely – as suddenly my personal software is adversely affected – or ability to post – or ability to send and receive messages.
Oh I am glad, dear friend…I just wanted to make certain you had seen it. Good.
You and I, and I’m sure more than we know of, are watching, fully aware of what we are seeing. There are moments…many of them…when my eyes, mind and my heart are pulled in a direction which I can’t seem to divert from. And when that happens and I see the terrible suffering which has fallen on so many through the evil of those who knowingly and deliberately cause it, it’s difficult and most times impossible for me to comprehend it. To make sense of it. We aren’t the first to experience chaos and uncertainty. It can get much worse, so much worse which a quick review of history affirms. But in the end it’s the deliberate, cold blooded intent of what we are watching which is perplexing to me. Something I will never comprehend.
I am so sorry you are caught up in your own maelstrom. You have remarkable discernment, an incredible ability to judge when, and most important, when not to stick your oars in. Fighting health issues doesn’t help, I know. Having a beautiful inside and out daughter you worry for and are trying to guide I know occupies your mother’s heart as well.
I am so glad you have this Tree and all its much treasured inhabitants to support you, as we do for all our family in the Branches. But first, you have your strong faith, your true refuge, which provides you with what you need to take each day as it comes, knowing with absolute certainty you aren’t doing any of this by yourself.
Something I remind myself of on a daily basis as I go about my day talking to Jesus, hurling questions at Him, and uttering so many prayers that I’m not sure where one stops and another begins.
Love you much, Woo. You are fierce and determined and fearless. And a Warrior for what you know is right. Set aside some time for your own sanity, as I try to do, to withdraw from the world to rest and recharge. I am on my way to do that right now. Put a deadbolt on the door which opens onto your world, have a cup of tea or coffee, breathe deeply, and think of other things, beautiful things, for a little bit. We will all still be here to help fight this good and righteous fight with you, Cariad 😘
God promises that these times will pass. It will take time for our minds to heal from it all, but this evil will not stand. It is a house of cards, and the evildoers have overplayed their hands.
I just wonder how far it will go – at what point will “all at once” come to pass.
My mother in law’s mother’s favourite calming utterance…
This, too, shall pass.
And knowing it is so, we trudge on, believing faithfully it will be Almighty God Who has the upper hand and Who says,”ENOUGH!!!”
In His hands be it, even as we continue to carry our crosses, difficult and overwhelming as sometimes things can be 🙏🏻 😘
Afternoon dear ‘Woo 🙂
Blessed afternoon, brother G.
You would get a big laugh on what I am considering right now. I was on an online board and found an advertisement for some puppies – Husky, Malamute, German Shephard mix – but father was runt of litter, so these may only grow to about 28 pounds. There is one – who is speaking to my heart from her picture and who I think might belong to Savannah.
Awaiting word on expenses from our Vet to pair against our budget. I try not to be too impulsive, but I think her gravitational pull is too strong! She’s 10 weeks, born on January 29th.
Dear Woo,
Do it!!!!
Ha haa…. we have an appointment on Sunday to meet her. The family is kind enough to allow her to come home with us to see how she does with the kitty boys. If Timmy, who is the problem child simply can’t handle it, they will allow us to return her and receive our money back. Very generous and gracious of them.
We are going to name her “Rosie”. Isn’t she just darling?
It will be nice to have someone for Harold the Maine Coon to play with, someone who will ultimately be big enough to put Timmy in his place, and a guard dog buddy for Savannah. When Timmy ultimately passes, she will need someone soft to bury her head into.
🤞 🤞 🤞
Oh Woo
I so hope this works for all of you. 🙏
Such beautiful new loving energy for your home.
Love “Rosie.” I have one too!
Yep. Cute puppy! 🙂
Oh Woo!!! Our Jack Russell, Penny, was the runt. There was nothing of her but she made her way to Chris, with difficulty…her little bottom wagging as best as she could manage.
And as he told himself that the first pup of the litter to make a fuss of him would be ours.
As she was for fourteen years. The best dog ever 💕💔
If the little mite above is meant to be yours, she will be.
Look at that face!!!!!!
I’m in love!!! 😍
Oh boy…. we went shopping. Extra tall baby gate up (check!). Doggie chew toys and tennis balls (check!). Training treats and teething rings (check!). Puppy Food (check!) Puppy pads (check!). Extendable leash (check!). Collar (check!). Harness (not so fast… no idea how big she is… so she will have to go shopping with us.
Savannah is over the moon and keeps reassuring me that she will be in charge of this pup!!! Told her if she works at Petco, she’ll get extra $4 an hour and 40% off all the pets’ food and supplies.
This is so doggone exciting! – just imagine how many honorary aunts and uncles Rosie has! 🐶 🐕 🐶
Oh, sis,
Not only a heart wrencher – but, Kipling. I have 2 volumes of his that were my folks: definite go to’s on a rainy afternoon. Made all the better because they are dog eared and tanned in age.
But I must disagree, on one point with Rudyard – my fur kids, I know in my soul, are waiting for me. ❤️ 🐕
I ran across this poignant poem and was instantly overcome. As for your last sentence, I always remember Will Rogers who said (paraphrasing), “If dogs don’t go to heaven, I want to go where they go.” 💕
Happy Ready-To-Drive and Birthday to your granddaughter, Betsy. Blessings to you, friend.
Morning JWoo!
God morning, GrandpaM. Blessings. 🙂
Is today the big day?
Big day? Did you mean to send this to Betsy?
Oooops!!! Should have scrolled, dear friend. Please see above.
And thank you😊🎂 I’ll certainly pass your sweet wishes on. She was a baby yesterday….sigh…
Good morning dear Bet! Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! Miss V had her tonsils removed yesterday. Afterwards she wrote, “I am feeling loompy.” My daughter said that was V’s version of loopy. Guess we added a new word to the family dictionary. 😂❤️
Oh bless her, G 🙏🏻 She will be healthier for it, I promise. I had mine out at 8, and it was no picnic. I remember the friend of our family (a doctor, don’t freak 😂) removed mine; and I remember how painful it was. He wanted me to eat the scrambled eggs in hospital and gave me a whole dollar , a magnificent sum back in the day), to do so.
I took his $ and didn’t eat the eggs.
As with my wisdom teeth extractions, the only thing I could manage were chocolate malts from Dairy Queen…nicely cold and soothing.
I LOVE her new word!!! I just wish sue didn’t have to experience what it took to come up with it. I promise you all will be using it from here on out. It’s a good one😁👏🏻👍🏻
Sarah Grace takes her driving test today. She’ll sail through because Chris has taught her from the beginning. Not one to give praise unless deserved, he said he’s impressed with her driving. Also remembering what he told all those he helped get their licenses in the UK (a much more onerous test)…
“I can teach you how to pass your test. You will learn to drive after you get your license.”
Hooboy!! Truth!
Please give my love to Miss V. Tell her you have a dear sister who remembers all too well what its like to feel “loompy”. Prayers headed heavenward for a quick and uneventful recovery, dear brother 🙏🏻😘🕊
Thank you dear sister! At 9 1/2 it’s a bit tougher healing plus the doctor said that during the week between her last appointment and the surgery the tonsils had doubled in size. But we’ll pray her through it. And lots of Blue Bell.
Blue Bell – you say?
Pass the scalpel. LOL Kidding – mine are gone, but Savannah still has hers. Ugh. Hope that she won’t need hers done, too.
Blue Belle will help!! Medicine in a tub!! We’ve just been trying to find Butter Pecan or Pralines and Cream…coming up empty. Maybe nearer to summer, though I find it odd that all we can find is Chocolate, Vanilla, and Cookies ‘n Cream, the last not good for Violet and her stitches.
It sounds as if those tonsils really needed to come out. Wow!!! SO GLAD then that they are gone. As soon as she gets past the first week post, shell feel so much better. I pray so with all my heart 💕🙏🏻
Have you tried “Banana Pudding” Blue Bell – ohhhhh my. Add a few crispy vanilla wafers and some sliced fresh bananas. Ohhhh my!!!
One could add caramel too, but I don’t. My treats are sparingly right now and probably the foreseeable future.
Love Blue Bell!!!
Probably could add a scoop to your Bustelo. LOL
Oh Garrison…I never got down to you this morning. I am so sorry, dear friend!! The upside is that I can listen to your musical offering tonight as a soother before I turn in. Really looking forward to that! 🎶😘
Or while I’m digging through the Blue Bell 😎
Not yet. Chris just went to Kroger and found the Pralines ‘n Cream!!! Victory!!
We never eat but a scoop at night. Really looking forward to it!
Score!
We tried a new one, Cinnamon Twist, liked it a lot but probably too chunky for V. My most favorite new taste is my mom’s baklava with Homemade vanilla. Had 2 bowls on Monday for our anniversary. Ran out of cognac so had to sip some 8 grain shine with it. Sometimes life get really rough. LOL!
Homemade baklava – all that phyllo dough – yummmz.
Ooooh, GrandpaM
That is tantalizing. I’ve been making my own ice cream with a really inexpensive ice cream machine. In my case the ingredients are just: heavy cream, vanilla, cocoa powder, and instant coffee. Makes the most delicious mocha ice cream – in about 20 minutes!
I sometimes add a little Irish Cream liqueur, and that requires a bit longer to solidify. So easy.
Oops – and a bit of sugar or sugar substitute, but I use much less than is in any recipe.
Awww, M! Comfort and blessings to Miss V. Lots of ice cream and popsicles. Had my tonsils out at 20 years old and they kept me in the hospital. Tried to feed me spaghetti with meat sauce and pineapple – I just looked at them like “seriously?” For an adult, it is hell… lost 14 lbs in two weeks and the scabs broke open forcing an ER visit at day 7. I remember… starving. These little kids have it good – they heal SO FAST. Pray so, for Miss V. Lots of comfy and fun movies, cartoons to keep her busy.
Day 7 is the concern, JWoo but her mama will be watching. Appreciate the prayers.
She’s going to be a-okay. She will just have to be super careful how she eats.
Savannah had her oral surgeries (two) and I made her pureed protein bisques. She still asks for chicken and sweet potato bisque soup. LOL
Afternoon Bet, love 🙂
Please see above, Garrison 😘 Apologies once more for getting sidetracked this morning. Love you, my friend💕

.Garrison, can I get a follow up on the eclipse? Did Fredericksburg really get 60,000 sheeple? I ask because my wife and I were in Waring, only 33 miles away, at a church camp of over 400 acres with less than 300 really precious Texans. There was a live band, Two Step Dancing, a Taco Truck, Mexican Corn, and Communion after the light show. The clouds came and went but we did get to experience totality.
Interesting story on how got invited. We were in the Hill Country, on Saturday, wandering about and looking for an interesting spot to watch the eclipse. We stopped in Sisterdale for a wine tasting and spoke to some locals. We struck up a conversation with a couple from Boerne who invited us to be their guests at Camp Capers. Texans are the best most hospitable people God makes. We spent five days knocking around, living on Breakfast Tacos, briscuit , and beer. Took every piece of advice offered and was glad for it.
Treehouse tip for Tourist: Wear your hometown swag; Makes you interesting and authenic. Oh, and learn to Two Step.
Thanks, Garrison and Thanks Texas.
Hi Dave, looks like Fredericksburg did get that many people. I didn’t venture to go to Fredericksburg on Monday but in the morning there were bunch of cars driving that direction. You could see the timing of the light in or little town, 12 miles away. You’d get 12-13 cars, then a pause, then cars again. After the eclipse the traffic went in the opposite direction and was steady all day.
It was cloudy all day but there was a break when the partial began and my bride and I got to experience the last minute of the totality when the clouds parted at the right place. It was a present form God for our 35 anniversary.
The next day when I went to Fredericksburg there were still quite a few people there with traffic jams in town.
Re: 60k. It’s entirely possible—I know there was a sizable number of people watching the eclipse. And, besides, as you found, the Hill Country is a great place to visit. It still has a “Little Town Texas” ambiance. 🙂
It does, my head was on a swivel looking out for Captains Call and McCree

Israel Update:
-An intended strike on a vehicle in Gaza killed three sons and three grandsons of the Political Leader of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh. They were active in the Military wing of Hamas. He responds :”Thanks God for them dying as holy martyrs”.
Note: He has 10 left, it wasn’t his only sons.
Israel also recently arrested his sister who lives inside Israel and find lots of money and gold and connections to terror.
-Gantz (Senior War Cabinet member) : “We will get into Rafah and return to Khan Yunis. Our freedom to operate on the ground will be maintained.
-An American new proposed deal was given to Hamas. This one let some 150,000 Gazans to return to North Gaza. If approved it will be a hard decision for Israel. We don’t want to give everything for 40 hostages only. Also those who return must be screened which the other side doesn’t agree. The US is pressing more and more concessions out of Israel. Still without the permanent end of war the Hamas is not likely to agree.
-Hamas tells CNN that they don’t have 40 hostages alive of the first category of women, wounded and 55+ old. Note: They may kill women to prevent evidence of rape.
-A Mossad Assassination of a Hezbollah man who was responsible for transferring tens of millions of dollars from Iran to Hamas. Apparently he was pulled into a trap by a woman’s seduction tortured interrogated and and shot.
-Biden in an interviews says that “Netanyhu’s actions in Gaza are mistaken” and he is calling for a 6-8 weeks of an unconditional ceasefire.
-500 trucks of aide ready to enter today. Israel is promoting videos of markets full of food in Gaza. Saying there is no hunger.
-The Supreme Leader of Iran again says that “Israel will pay for the assassination in Syria”.
Israeli Defense Minister says that an attack from Iranian territory will be answered with a powerful counter attack in Iran.
-Israel exposed a major Iranian operation of flooding the West Bank with weapons.
-All day we had psychological warfare from Iran with various “hints” about attacks that turned out false. It’s better to wait and see.
-Massive attacks in Rafah and Central Gaza. Also ground offensive in Central Gaza at a place that was not taken before. Some 120 killed in the attacks.
Have a good day.
❤️ 🇮🇱 🙏 ❤️ David: What an intense 24 hours!
I pray for clarity and stress-reduction (soaking in magnesium, such as Epsom Salts, is a God-send for me) for all Israelis.
OBiden is a very evil entity.
🙏God Bless the Nation of Israel with SUCCESS and SAFETY and UNITY.
Amen☀️🙏
🎶 Shalom. 🎶
Amen.
had a discussion on yesterday’s Presidential thread where sunnydaze mentioned phonics
this was my reply:
yep, phonics — that’s how the nuns taught reading in my grades 1-4 until we moved and switched to public school
forever – all the way thru college and scientific writing career – I always had infallible spelling and word usage, would immediately see errors in others’ writing
around the late 90s or so, when online forums got more popular, one could see Americans’ language skills going down the toilet … it was apparent that kids schooled 70s onward hadn’t learned on phonics, education had transitioned to that “whole-word recognition” and other hoodoo
my late early-60s phonics-based education stood me well
thanks, Sister Catherine !
and here’s a good mnemonic for keeping various word usage straight, you’ll see younger generations get these wrong all day, even professional news writers
You know better than this. Don’t do it again.
I hear ya but kinda raw nim
sorry, Monti – only one I got
if I had a polite one I’d f’ing post it
I’m all for decorum when possible
Now that was VERY raw !!!
hello tree 🌳 house ♥️

The secret weapon that Israel possess for the worst case scenarios.
What do we know about Israeli nukes?
The fact that the discussion of that type of arsenal is now a thing shows how far out of whack this whole situation has become. The fact that the concept of deterrence has morphed into who’s got the bigger, er, balls really should give everyone pause.
Yes. Iran is a thousand miles away from Israel. Yet is it is heavily involved in the attacks on Israel from Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen, Syria, Iraq. Basically they are a theocratical regime who has the goal to conquer the world to spread their religion. There is no other explanation why they spend their money and resources on expanding everywhere. Obviously Israel is an obstacle to their agenda because Israel is the only force in the region who has the capabilities to attack their long arms in Syria and other places and has been doing so for decades.
The religious aspect and the anti Israel/jews aspect makes Israel a prime target. Their desire and work for nuclear weapons makes them an existential threat to Israel and the world. Remember Israel is only one target in their overall goal. In the Middle East Sunni Muslims are afraid of them and there are hundreds of years of wars and hate of Sunnis against Shia Muslims. So this is why Saudi Arabia was intending to make peace with Israel before the war began, and other Sunni nations. So the 10/7 is no surprise because it stopped the US/Israeli power and Sunni coalition in the area from happening. Sunnis can’t make peace with Israel while their Palestinian brothers are killed by Israel.
From an Israeli perspective the “Death to Israel” calls of Iran combined with their constant attempts to have nuclear weapons is a reminder of the Nazi calls of “Death to the Jews” which was ignored. We learned the hard way that when the enemy is saying what they intend you should not ignore it. The 10/7 was a rminider of what happens when you ignore what they say they want to do. Hamas was obvious about their intents to raid the Israeli towns and cities around their borders.
The American perspective is entirely different. The US wants to avoid a regional war that could lead to another war that Americans could be fighting. America never fought a war to protect Israel, Israel fought all of its wars by itself and if the US fights Iran it will not be for Israel but for its own interests. But Biden will not get into such a war. For Biden it’s all about the elections at the moment. For Israel it’s about future and immediate survival.
An honest and more meaningful presentation of Eschatology (RE: the recent April 8th eclipse)
I took a 45 minute trip to Omega Indiana to watch the total eclipse because I was just on the edge of it here at home. 3 minutes duration there.
Eclipses are simply a recurring phenomenon of orbital physics in our solar-centered planetary system and very likely many other systems as well. Their periodic occurrences have nothing to do with eschatology.

“Honolulu” ~ Gracie Allen, MGM, Old Hawaii Song/Dance!
The incomparable Gracie Allen and Eleanor Powell in this show-stopping number from the hit 1939 MGM musical of the same name. The song captures the Magic and Romance of Hawaii’s Golden Age. When getting there was truly half the fun.
The japs ruined the whole scene just 2 years later on 12/7/1941 with their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

James Anthony Bailey
(1847-1906)
American circus ringmaster and showman (Barnum & Bailey), dies at 58
Biography: James Anthony Bailey was an American circus ringmaster and one of the founders of the Barnum & Bailey Circus. He is known for his role in transforming the circus into a large-scale entertainment phenomenon and for his partnership with P.T. Barnum, another iconic figure in the history of American circuses.
Bailey began his career in the circus world at a young age after being orphaned. He initially worked as an assistant to Frederic Augusta Bailey, a circus ticket seller, from whom he adopted his name. Demonstrating a natural aptitude, Bailey quickly rose through the ranks and became known for his skill in promoting and managing circuses.
In the 1880s, Bailey partnered with P.T. Barnum, forming the Barnum & Bailey Circus, which became known as “The Greatest Show on Earth.” This significant partnership combined Barnum’s flair for sensational entertainment with Bailey’s business and logistical acumen.
Under their leadership, the Barnum & Bailey Circus introduced several innovations that were revolutionary for the time. They expanded the scale of the circus, introducing large tents capable of seating thousands, complex logistical operations for traveling, and a variety of acts that included animal performances, acrobats, and sideshows.
One of Bailey’s notable contributions was his focus on family-friendly entertainment, ensuring that the circus was accessible and appealing to audiences of all ages. He was also instrumental in expanding the circus’s reach, taking the show on extensive tours, not just in the United States but also around the world.
After Barnum’s death in 1891, Bailey continued to run the circus, maintaining its reputation as a premier entertainment venue. In 1907, a few years after Bailey’s death, the Barnum & Bailey Circus was acquired from his widow by the Ringling Brothers and eventually, in 1919, the two circuses were merged.

Luther Burbank
(1849-1926)
American horticulturist who developed more than 800 strains and varieties of plants, dies of gastrointestinal complications at 77
Biography: Luther Burbank developed more than 800 strains and varieties of plants including a successful breed of Shasta daisy, fire poppy and a natural genetic variant of the Burbank potato, later known as the Russet Burbank potato.
The Russet Burbank potato is now the most widely grown potato in North America and is famously used for McDonald’s french fries.

MORAL DIVINITY
“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection.” Romans vi. 5
CO-RESURRECTION: The proof that I have been through crucifixion with Jesus is that I have a decided likeness to Him. The incoming of the Spirit of Jesus into me readjusts my personal life to God. The resurrection of Jesus has given Him authority to impart the life of God to me, and my experimental life must be constructed on the basis of His life. I can have the resurrection life of Jesus now, and it will show itself in holiness.
The idea all through the apostle Paul’s writings is that after the moral decision to be identified with Jesus in His death has been made, the resurrection life of Jesus invades every bit of my human nature. It takes omnipotence to live the life of the Son of God in mortal flesh. The Holy Spirit cannot be located as a Guest in a house, He invades everything. When once I decide that my “old man” (i.e., the heredity of sin) should be identified with the death of Jesus, then the Holy Spirit invades me. He takes charge of everything, my part is to walk in the light and to obey all that He reveals. When I have made the moral decision about sin, it is easy to reckon actually that I am dead unto sin, because I find the life of Jesus there all the time. Just as there is only one stamp of humanity, so there is only one stamp of holiness, the holiness of Jesus, and it is His holiness that is gifted to me. God puts the holiness of His Son into me, and I belong to a new order spiritually.

✟
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
1 John 3:16 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

THE HEART UNDERSTANDS
Poking and prodding the bear rarely works
He just lingers and shrugs and simply smirks
He curls up and cuddles in his lair alone
Where it is safe from prying eyes full-blown
How can they possibly see me for me
I have revealed little of who I be
Without a good-bye quickly left the nest
Under duress I simply failed to attest
They reached out to me when I needed help
I could hardly move or let out a yelp
The pain of the loss was fresh in my mind
I could barely sleep let alone unwind
And now it has been too long to explain
What happens to me over and over again
With what I must grapple day in and out
They have no idea what it’s all about
I could make excuses but that will not fly
I could explain the what where when and why
But that will not cut it a single bit
I just needed some time to deal with it
Ask anyone who has grieved a great loss
There are ups and downs a simple coin toss
There are ins and outs with nowhere to go
Let it all out – stop the back/forth to/fro
You have been patient with me this I know
As I struggle to find a path to forward go
While I come to grips with whom I can be
Without the love of my life tis hard you see

Research suggests that a cup of tea can keep Covid away.
Findings demonstrate how certain teas inactivate SARS-CoV-2 in saliva—in some cases by up to 99.9%. This is important because the virus infects and replicates inside the oral cavity, passing through the oropharynx before reaching the lungs.
Esseili and Julianna Morris studied 24 different types of commercially available teas, some of which claim to aid in respiratory health. Of those, they found five that significantly reduced the virus in saliva: raspberry zinger, eucalyptus mint, mint medley, green tea and black tea, with black tea showing the greatest reduction. All testing was done in the laboratory in simulated conditions.
Researchers prepared a drinkable infusion concentration using one tea bag per cup steeped for 10 minutes, with no additions such as milk or sugar. All five teas reduced the virus by at least 96% within 10 seconds in the mouth. Black tea was the most effective, reducing the virus by 99.9%.
When tested as a gargle, they brewed the tea at four times the concentration of the drinkable infusion, finding that all five varieties of tea reduced the virus by 99.9% within 10 seconds when gargled.
“At this stage, we are not suggesting tea as a stand-alone intervention against SARS-CoV-2, because the virus also replicates in the nose and may have already reached the lung by the time a person tests positive,”

Ever since we were forced to upgrade to Windows 11, we have had all kinds of trouble with the Microsoft operating system. Outlook, Word, Excel tossing us out when trying to reply, create, or update.
Printing in landscape, but not in portrait, causes reversed (mirror image) print.
Current IT provider says you can’t roll back to Windows 10. Hearing that’s a lie and that 11 product keys work in 10. You have to wipe the computer clean, install 10 and use 11 product keys.
Emails are a mess over authentication issues. Screwing up marketing.
Got hit with the highest taxes ever this year, despite generous investment into equipment purchases.
Being forced to online, outrageously expensive,
software where you voluntarily hand over your data for managing… with user reviews indicating software is less user-friendly and only good for accountant cloud accessibility in the back end. Well, an accountant shouldn’t be in our software everyday… just one time a year at tax time… so are we trying to make their lives better… or the daily user’s life better who is stuck operating it every day?
Anything web-based is subject and suspect to an invisible “off” switch.
This is rough. The globalist, meta data overlords really have the public, especially small businesses which are the backbone of our country… over a barrel.
Also love the newfound and random incompatibility between Apple, Microsoft, and Adobe with all the authentication games.
I shudder every time a client tells me they have to update their payment method due to identity theft. It is too often for comfort.
Ready for Atlas to Shrug and to go stock shelves in a pet food store.
The headaches.
JWoo, I switched from Microsoft to Apple in 2009 and never looked back. I was an expert with MS Office apps from the late ’90s forward. I was an unofficial “go to” person at my job for troubleshooting or how-to questions from my department and others around the plant who knew me. I say this only to establish my previous bona fides in the Windows world.
But at home, my frustration of having to defend against a constant stream of malware and viruses that targeted Windows users worldwide – despite having the supposed “best” anti-virus software installed and updated every few days(with virus definitions) finally chased me away for good. The hackers had succeeded in planting a “bot” on my machine that was sending out thousands of email spam messages per day, undetectable by my software. My ISP caught it and called me. We shut it down by shutting down several ports, but that was the tipping point for me. I saved my data & photo files to thumb drives, wiped the hard drives by reinstalling windows, and gave both PCs to someone who couldn’t afford new eqpt.
Now Apple’s “office” apps are adequate for basic usage.but far from having the features found in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, or Publisher. There are superior (to MS Office) third party productivity apps for Mac that must be purchased separately but that’s not my style.
I went with a free open source product called Apache Open Office. It was a bit awkward to learn, not being very similar to MS Office in layout, tool symbols, etc. But after about a month or two I got pretty good with it and have used it with great success since about 2016. My son also uses it on his Windows laptop (there are versions for different platforms).
My wife and I are on our second Apple MacBook Pro laptops, having replaced our original units in early 2015. These 9 year. old units are going strong and still receive operating system updates from Apple although ours are unsupported by Apple’s latest OS. I’ll stay with them until they fail or are no longer supported.
We’ve never experienced a technical glitch or virus infections with the Apple OS or applications since buying our first Apple laptops in 2009. And we don’t have to deal with anti virus or anti malware apps either. Their OS has a built-in firewall that we leave on and whatever else is in there seems to work for us.
There are some pretty good YouTube how-to “training” videos for those who take the leap to transition from MS Windows to Apple macOS….
Thanks for the info on your success with Apple products, Baritone.
We NEVER experienced this nonsense in the seven years I’ve worked here – but the upgrade of our desktop main computer and the forced migration to Windows 11 has been a nemesis.
We ran into trouble with Apple devices, though. Not on our end – but on our customer’s end.
We use Quickbooks Desktop Pro and about May of last year, Apple sent out an update to all Apple device users which reformatted Adobe Acrobat attachments to Windat. So, when our customers tried to look at their invoices or statements I would email them – they no longer could. Had to instruct them to install free Adobe Acrobat Reader on their Apple devices. A real pain, considering they never had trouble before and we couldn’t just flip a switch on a setting on our end to make our Intuit invoices and statements compatible for everyone.
Then, talking with Intuit support – they ran into issues with Outlook emails because they force an authentication with a cell phone device. However, being a financial services company – the associates at Intuit are forbidden from having cell devices at their desks for obvious reasons – so Intuit had to switch to Google gmail instead of Outlook, because it doesn’t require same authentication.
Of course, our WIP software (3rd party proprietary) forced domain-based email away from gmail two years ago. Then we had the additional layer of email authentication in February – causing our marketing and promotions software to no longer work.
We are in software hell and now the powers that be that fight over all our data are refusing to place nice on the playground together.
Our techs use IPADs in the field and we have a mix of Apple and Android phones.
Interviewed a new IT provider a week ago and I really like them – but boy howdy are they spendy, and they take over and control ev-er-y-thing – but at a $$$$$.
Yes, my previous post is about personal home equipment.
Sounds like you’re dealing with cross platform compatibility involving applications from different developers. That gets to be a cluster**** real quick when your primary OS mfrs. start having glitches with what should be rock stable base applications. Your new IT folks probably *are* pricey if they have the expertise to integrate all the required applications and data. I’m not going to be of much help to you in that regard.

I’m thinking I need to start building an ark! Most standing water I’ve seen around here in over a decade. My rain gauge shows 2 3/4″. The weather app on my phone says we only got 1.3″ in the last 24 hours. It is obvious that my rain gauge is much more accurate than the weather app is.
Based on the forecast I figure the earliest it may be dry enough f0r me to mow will be Sunday. Gonna need some sunshine and wind for that to happen. Then the forecast calls for more rain on Monday.
Dinner tonight is meatloaf, mashed potatoes and beef gravy, and frozen peas. Will be taking that over to Steve and Betty for their dinner at about 5 PM. Gotta run the store to the store shortly to get some green peppers so Sherry can make the meatloaf.

Do not fear. God is here.
God is doing things in unconventional, unprecedented and unusual ways.

Most women would not even know (with women’s menstrual cycles being so uneven and unpredictable due to metabolic syndrome and diets, illnesses and vaccines) unless they miss two periods in a row, that they are even pregnant. Even when pregnant, some women still have a semi- normal period or spotting. Not very many young (or even middle-aged people) have inexpensive deductibles to run to the doctor on a whim. Have a heart for these women. I know, sanctity of life and all, but we are not living in the Victorian age. We are in an age of extreme mental fragility and autism (it is in every family now) and out of bounds emotions. So, if it takes two missed periods and a month to get an appointment, what do we have here? A three or four month old fetus is not viable outside the womb and has not taken a breath of life. We need to educate not berate. We are entering the Dark Ages 2.0. Get a grip.
Joan
Pretty sure I have a realistic grip. I got pregnant at 16 -I’m not proud of it or recommending it to anyone. I lived in a blue laws New England state ( believe me, almost Victorian Ages). I was thrown out of school (though I was near the top of my class grades wise), ostracized in public places, and accepted by my dad, but not so much my mom. I decided to make the best life I could for my husband (yes, we got married) and my unborn daughter. BTW – we worked 4 jobs, paid the medical bills immediately, and cost the taxpayer zero.
Then, 1966, there were no OTC pregnancy tests immediately available to women. Now, that availability exists.
The fetal heartbeat begins at about 5 weeks – all things I did not know as a an adolescent myself at the time. But, I did know I was pregnant.
I never, for a moment thought killing my baby was “a choice.” It did change my life forever, but so did she, in a good way.
“We” are not entering anything and I reject absolutely your political argument.
Abortion is being played with just like trans and gay to distract this election cycle.
The left has nothing and cares about nothing and least of all the family.
