Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Found this short video, 20 minutes, to be pretty informative, he discusses the things to be aware of and do during the annual and open enrollment periods for those on Medicare, so wanted to share for those just signing up or renewing their plans:
“The Dog Days”
This is an amusing and poignant short article by Brandon Meeks on the hot days of late Summer in the South and in his family’s experience long ago.
The Abbeville Institute website has a large selection of articles on a remarkable number of topics.

Sepp, thank you for this – it was sooo funny and delightful!
I’m from the South, in Georgia, and always heard my grandma talk about “Dog Days of Summer” but never knew how they got that name.
And, I remember those paper fans in the church with Jesus on one side – knocking on the door – and the funeral home name on the other!
Mostly, loved the description of his Mamaw … she fought fire With fire! Is there any other way?!
We just might have to repost this tomorrow then.
The Dog Days of August hit here last week and the week before. I remember hearing the older folks talk about the Dog Days in nearly the same way as this writer.
“It’s August! Don’t bother the dog! Let the dog alone! Give the dog more water! Let the dog sit in front of the fan! He doesn’t need a walk this week! Give the dog some ice cubes in his bowl! I told you to leave him alone and now he’s ornery.”
This folk wisdom was very widespread beyond the Deep South though. It would be interesting to see how it moved through time and through the country. We are a good distance from the South here.
Oh, please do repost, Sepp! It’s too good and more may see it!
Just for the record – here’s a chart for our weather here. In second summer, AND dog days!
Mercy…
12 Seasons!
Four is plenty for me.
😂😂😂
Four is enough for me, too, Sepp, but God gives us twelve!!
He’s generous, like that! 😁
