Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

THE FIRST ROBIN
Thank you for sharing these sweet cartoons…
I’m waiting to see that, Mama Robin still on her 4 eggs.
Gosh, got to be any day now!
I know right? Her nest is just high enough that we can’t see into it without a step stool. Thankfully, she isn’t disturbed by my dogs going in and out their little door flap.
oh, nice the doggy flap doesn’t bother her!
Pro tip: When mumma’s gone, get up on stepstool (as needed) and hold little hand-held mirror over the nest to peek in 🙂
Yes, we do that. Noticed just a bit ago that the daddy robin has come to feed mama. It’s the first time and it looks like she is feeding so tomorrow we will take a peak.
Progress!
morning treeper friends .have a great day hangin in the tree.
Good Morning Molon,
Tweeties four…
BTW, I responded to your post last evening, the one about my name.
Not sure if you saw it..
Good day, Molon ❣️
💖A good day to all ❣️❣️❣️
Goodaye Patience! ❤️
Hi there, Pa (((❣️ )))
Just lovin seeing your posts, as it shows that you ARE on the mend👻👻👻.
I am Patience. But still in ICU. No beds available in the regular part of the hospital so I’m here. It is actually better because the ratio is 2 patients per nurse so I don’t mind spending another night.
That’s exactly what happened to Chris, G.
First when he was admitted. We arrived at 8:30 am , and he wasn’t in a room until 9 that night.
Then after his aneurysm surgery in ICU for two days because there were no beds available…they said. In the end they put him right back in the room he was originally in.
It won’t hurt having extra eyes watching.
Bet, see the long post I left for Patience below. ❤️😘 And a story of another miracle.
👍🏻😘
I am digging that you get some MORE special attention.
When ICU is not necessary extra time there is comforting; as you noted, the nurses are generally happy to give all sorts of attention to patients
-because they CAN. 🥰
They’ve all been super. I don’t mind staying here just don’t want to rake a bed that someone might need.
A praise report, this morning talking to the hospitalist he said that they’ve never seen anyone get rid of 4 litters of fluids without the help of diuretics. He said that he’s never seen a body shit the anti diuretic hormone and get rid of so much fluid. And the spot in my lung was still there but not getting worse. My response was that maybe since they gained me so much ADH for2 days to keep my blood pressure up and loaded me with fluids there was a feed back that enabled that but, I said, I have also had a lot of prayers so that’s what helped.
Another miracle by our awesome God!
Just talked to the night nurse. When she gets done with the change of shift stuff she’ll take me for another run around the track (a fairly slow walk actually), then give me my pills and tuck me in for the night, and not bug me. 😍
Did you bring your trainers??😁
You must be doing very well indeed if she will let you rest through the night, G. I’m reading this as very good news. Thank you, Abba Father🙏🏻
Bet, I’m grateful you didn’t ask if I brought any diapers for the anti diuretic hormone. 😂😂😂
Would I?? 😂😂😂
No, we’ll save that for you know who.😁
Pa, you made me laugh so hard ( ouch) …. I’m still smiling with a bit of joyful watery eyes and goosebumps.
-Whoa! the bumps keep coming in little surges .
The Holy Spirit Is❤️
LOL! That was supposed to be shut down. Would never guess that the spellcheck knew the word $#!t. Now I’m trying not to laugh too hard. I already dropped the iPad once on my incision. 🤣🤣🤣
Need to stop re reading that part, can’t stop laughing. And that was before my oxy pill. Where are the koalas???
Hahaha!!! I wondered as well, but decided it was “shift”
Can’t tell you the number of times when I’ve typed “shut” in a post I am so grateful that I had the sense to reread….and alter the spelling!😂😂😂
…in fact I nearly hit send on this one when I re-read and had to alter. PHEW!!!
😂😂❤️
Hahahha!!!!
Chris just reminded me (after I read the above exchange to him about the wrong word, and we were howling😂😂😂)…
He worked for Cadillac for years. After the sale of any auto, he’d reach out to his customer to see how they were enjoying their new car, any questions, problems, blah, blah.
To one such woman he texted the following…
Hello, Mrs X. I wanted to get in touch to see how you are enjoying your SRX…
….he meant to put.
It read as follows…
Hello Mrs X, I wanted to get in touch to see how you were enjoying your SEX.
Oh MY!!!! He phoned her immediately an pd all was fine. She figured it out on her own. But for about 10 horrifying minutes, he was sweating bullets….
LMAO
Don’t injure yourself!! Might mean another day in ICU!😂😂😘
So funny! Glad you’re in good spirits!
😂😂😂
Patience, I’m sitting here also with tears in my eyes LMAO, and if don’t stop before the nurse comes in for our stroll they may haul me off to the looney bin. 😂❤️
Laughter his such good medicine…. Like prayers.
So happy you’ve had plenty of each, my brother.
Brilliant!!😂😘👍🏻
If you go, they’ll have to take a few more of us with you😎
It sure is, dear sister. Got back from the walk and turning in for the night. These girls working here are such dolls. And the guys are super nice, too. They promised to let me sleep tonight which I am very happy about.
Goodnight to all dear friends here. God is great!
You know what they say??
Sleep is nature’s sweet restorer.
The absolute truth!💕
Sleep and rest well, Pa.
-sweeeet dreams 💝
Good day back, Patience and Ma!!!
😘 times two🤗
Awe…
Thank you, Miss Betsy girl🥰.
Gettin food stuff and house ready for Ms’s Day.
Dagnabit 🤨 , moving a bit slow last few days, as the lower left side ribs took a shovel handle; full upper body force. Ouch! Foot slipped.
-There’s always a first for each dumb accident. 🥹
Other than President Trump’s rally being cancelled 😩 everything else is peachy.
-Keeping you and Chris-Honey in my thought; of course. 😇
.
Oh golly!! Patience!! Ribs are notoriously slow healers as my sister in law can tell you. Many a dumb accident has seen me, I can tell you.
Hope your first time is the last, dear friend. In the meantime, try not to overdo and rest when you can please. Thank you for your sweet thoughts…passing them on now.😘🙏🏻
I thank God for still having…knowing Ma; as most my age are not so fortunate. With that, seemingly endless ‘attention’ is warranted. phew! At least sleeping is starting to become more normal for both of us. 👻
Truth is, she helps me help her.
-Sometimes a little too helpful; causing me to be like a two-armed octopus .
Dang, she can be fast sometimes! 😱
She folds laundry now!!!
Hands came back.
-Truly, a miracle –
(honest to God!)
—It gives her
such a sense of achievement.
Towels are the perfect therapy. I try to keep a clean load stored/handy
-for when she’s board.
(hee hee …sneaky )
Ought to see her fold 👕!
Standing up (a little bent) is becoming easier, as are taking several steps.
She requires attentive spotting to keep her like a Weeble . 😅
The long version of, I’m trying to take it easy.
It’s a real thing (I’m discovering), Patience, that the older we get , so do we become less and less visible…or needed for that matter. So very much love to you for your understanding that whatever else, Ma wants to still be needed. You are such a good soul, good daughter, and a loving child of God. I hope tomorrow will be extra special for you both. Make those precious memories, girl…for later.💕😘
And please tell Ma, that Bet wishes her a very very Happy Mother’s Day…from my heart to hers.🤗
You almost got me speechless. 😇
😘
You Can’t Take My Joy
Gracious and joyous morning, duchess. Still flying high from yesterday’s miraculous news for Mike and Dee! Glory to God in the Highest!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Amen goes right there, Bet!!! Oh, You Betcha!!! 😄

Man is not infallible. Only Great God Himself is perfect! Prayers were heard and gloriously answered.
Perhaps this will be a humbling and teaching lesson for those doctors who were so sure they were right. I pray so, dear sis.
Oh…by the way…the brightness of your smile has reached all the way to where I am. Beautiful😁🌻💕
Yes, I believe that, too – When all appears to be impossible – God performs the impossible!!!
Just as God said ‘NO’ with Chris – God said ‘NO’ with Mike!!!
God’s voice is a whisper in the ear – the enemy shouts and laughs at our faith in God!!!
Who is laughing now? His thoughts are not our thoughts – His ways are not our ways!!!
Praise God!!! His love is everlasting!!!
And His timing is not ours. Patience, trust, and faith…and gratitude for His mercies and grace which are never-ending🙏🏻💕

I’m looking!!!!😁 And Ima lovin’ what Ima seein’!!! 😊💕🙏🏻
A day of the week named in his honour…Caturday…and here he is, slug-a-bed, missing it all the fun.😊
A few days ago I wrote an inexcusably long screed about my science teacher daughter and all the lizards and like creatures she kept in appropriate containers with vegetation in which they could, and did thrive.
The bearded dragon she was given went home with her on the weekends so he wouldn’t be lonely. He was a firm favourite and would rest and sleep under the chins of her 3+1. That’s where he was happiest.
Likewise, she had a hedgehog, having fallen in love with them when they’d appear at the door of our Welsh home. Heidi was her name.
This photo is NOT of those two unusual pets which she had.
But I couldn’t believe my eyes when yesterday I stumbled upon this picture, which made my heart soar. I have sent it to her…💕
Sweet!!!
– that looks like a 🥾 cleaner 😂
😂….spikes on one heading upwards, spikes on the other, downwards. A perfect fit! A friendship meant to be. 😊
Cats are wonderfully eccentric in the places and positions in which they choose to sleep. They are delightful companions. I live in a rented apartment where pets are not allowed. I miss my last beloved cat, Cedric, very much. I think he knew he was seriously ill, though he hid how he felt, as they do. Cancer, the vet said. Cedric went to sleep forever, at home, the vet came. I hope so much to see him again. Just before that sad day, a couple of weeks at the most, he prepared a ‘goodbye gift’ for us as I truly believe he knew he would leave us soon. I was amazed. The gift required a numerical sense, balance, a sense of design, quality control, and forward planning. Cats are much more intelligent than most people would believe, and loving.
Having lost many a beloved companion, jb, my heart breaks into a thousand pieces for you. I believe we are still finding pieces of ours here and there, even after a long time has past.
Our first cat in Wales approached my husband from under a double decker bus. Of course we called him “Decker”, and he was covered in diesel. Only young, he rode home on my husband’s shoulder, allowed us to bathe him and gave us years of the best affection ever.
And I must say here that after watching remarkable videos of all sorts of animal behaviour across the many species on this earth, I am convinced we don’t know but a fraction of what all animals are capable of, or their interactions with others not their kind that would cause humans not be so arrogant with what they believe they know.
We never ever forget those animals we’ve loved. We miss all of ours as well. I know exactly how you feel.💔
Some day……….
that’ll be me

~13yrs ago.. Some of us could see what was coming even back then. Now we find each other every day.
Too subtle??
I LOVE this!!!! Thank Him for each day🙏🏻💕
Morning Bet. I agree wholeheartedly. To borrow from the Circle of Light series, “We get to cross Calix Stay” they don’t. In CS Lewis’s “The Last Battle” that was also the theme.
“I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now…Come further up, come further in!”
― C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle
Good morning, My dear friend. What a wonderful quote which I understand only too well. Lewis’s Chronicles were a beautiful metaphor for what awaits us all, and this quote I can imagine each one of us saying when the time comes.💕
I think it is remarkably similar in meaning to Somerset Maugham’s statements from his work “The Moon and Sixpence”…. what an imaginative and charming title!
“I have an idea that some men are born out of their due place. Accident has cast them amid certain surroundings, but they have always a nostalgia for a home they knew not. They are strangers in their birthplace, and the leafy lanes they have known from childhood or the populace streets in which they have played, remain but a passage. They may spend their whole lives aliens among their kindred and remain aloof among the only scenes they have ever known.
Perhaps it is this sense of strangeness that sends men far and wide in search of something permanent, to which they may attach themselves. Perhaps some deep rooted atavism urges the wanderer back to lands which his ancestors left in the dim beginnings of history.
Sometimes a man hits upon a place to which he mysteriously feels that he belongs. Here is the home he sought, and he will settle amid scenes that he has never seen before, among men he has never known, as though they were familiar to him from his birth.
Here at last he finds rest.”
How descriptive is this? And doesn’t it define exactly our journeys on this earth, transitory as they are?
I believe, whether we are cognizant day to day (or not) of our wanderings and our ultimate destination, this passage and the beautiful one of Lewis’s, describe us all.
We are that man or woman seeking the place where we are ultimately home. Where we feel it…where we instinctively and absolutely know without question or doubt that we have arrived and can be at total peace.
That place is not on this earth…though some of us do find that momentary spot as described by Maugham (as I did once upon a time).
Thank you, dear brother, for your posting this remarkable passage. It was lovely to read it and prompted me to find the one of Maugham’s. In these perilous and uncertain times not of our making, it was a joy for me to respond, knowing we have much to keep our hopes alive for that day when we are truly back home, from whence we all came.💕
Blessings always, Colkitto…apologies for the length of this post. You know me😁
I know you at the least would appreciate & understand. I may be underestimating others here because I do not know them well, but you I knew would. Here you even expanded on it and introduced me to another writer.
I have always been drawn to Celtic things.
Oh wonderful! Another to pass on to be read in the “Narnia Library”, much visited and enjoyed. I do thank you so much for these. Sending this on immediately.
Our conversations are sometimes short and other times longer. But I treasure each one no matter which, Colkitto. They are extremely precious to me. I am so glad you share all your pictures and information about your passion in this life with those here on this thread. As you now know, there are many who love your posts and who love our feathered fellows as much as you do. What you have added to this thread is without price…and you need to know it. God bless, my friend😘
You are a true star in the sky Bet. One of the brightest.
Treasured words for which I am speechless. 💕 Bless you for them, Colkitto. 😘
Bluebirds are starting brood #2 in my hanging nest box. I purchased a Chickadee Box also to see if I can get them both at the same time. I forgot to mention, when I installed my pond & waterfall, I was mainly doing it for the Koi/water plants, and Birds. What I overlooked was the Dragonflies and Toad/Frog chorus I get with them being attracted to the pond for breeding. I get a beautiful symphony almost every night.
Most of the migration has already passed through. I’m still waiting to have one of my all time favorite yard birds from where I used to live (where they breed every year) Baltimore Orioles to come through my yard. Unfortunately they are very rare breeders here a little further north at higher elevations. Cheers to all.
Hello Colkitto, A quick note about chickadee houses… I learned (the hard way) this week that the entryway to the house must not be larger than 1.125″ in diameter. Ours is 1.5′ and the house was raided by some larger bird. The entire contents were strewn about and all the eggs destroyed – I was heartbroken. This is a new house for us, the old one was past its’ prime. Also, did you know that the more ‘dee’s’ there are in the chick-a-dee song/cry the more stressed they are?
Ty for the heads up and nice story. I’ve been enamored with birds with a special affection for Chickadees, when my neighbor who was like another Grandmother to me (my Nana was always numero uno!) would feed them and Chipmunks out of her hand when I was 3-4. I can usually call them to me with a swishing noise I can make. They are nature’s Pearl’s imo. Ty for the call info, I will look out for that as I try and protect the Birds in my neighborhood. I rescued a Brown Thrasher fledgling last year, and was rewarded with a ty song from the parents!
I think you wrote me a very nice post a while back and I never got to ty. So a delayed ty friend.
CK. I can have a half dozen of them in my yard (garden for that Wales lady) in minutes. I was blessed with the ability to whistle (not like Roger Whittaker mind you) so if I do wee-woo-woo whistle I have them close by and going a little bananas calling 🪺
Hello Colkitto,
Beautiful bird.
My sister saw a huge Blue Heron standing in her pond, among the Koi ! She was able to take a pic before he flew away.
Really amazing !
DG
The heron which found our Welsh pond with huge Koi in it soon realized all his birthdays had come at once.
Two days later, despite all my attempts to dissuade him, gone were the Koi.
I have told this story before. Each time I retell it, I feel just as sick as I did when it happened…sob…
My sister saw the Heron when she went out for a smoke ( she did quit ).
He did fly off and never returned, some koi survived, and he apparently never returned, by all accounts.
She, was lucky, unlike you, sorry Betsy….
She was lucky…sad face for me, happy face for your sister.
💔💔💔💔💔
I am very aware and afraid, but I have not had any flyovers of them at all here. I know what they can do. Sad story. Koi become pets. My old ones and these know who I am and will dive from strangers.
Funny how they know…
Good one Bet! Hope your good. I bought some Mint plants so I can make my own Mojito’s!. Not sure if you partake, but if you like Rum they are excellent. I made one with Blackberries a while back that was great. You can add whatever fruit you like to the mint/rum/club soda/simple syrup as you like.
Slainte Bet and I hope you & yours are all good.
Colkitto, I made the horrid and irreversible mistake as a gardening novice in Wales of planting mint…not into pots but right into the ground.
Couldn’t believe how rampantly it spread.
No, not a partaker…except for a sherry or perhaps a Drambuie and ginger ale (and that not in a long time…what a marvelous, sippable, enjoyable drink that is!!)
But you mention club soda. Now that I could handle. Thanks for the recipe!😁👍🏻
I know Mint can get very invasive. Perhaps enough to supply the Cuba restaurant down the street! Ty for the warning. I will not touch beer, Tikki cocktails and such are my favorite. Only on relax off from work days.
Be well ma’am and your rolled some great pics today. Regards
It’s meme day for me it seems.
You take care, Colkitto. Just excellent seeing you here today💕
I took your advice and bought a pot for my Mint today. Ty for the reminder.
Anytime👍🏻😉. Quite welcome.
Official count of tornadoes on Thursday is 27 and so far the official count for tornadoes on Friday stands at 41.
Cyclone Mocha is now a CAT 4 and many models are forecasting it to be a CAT 5 at landfall. If the history of major landfalling Cyclones along the coast of the Bay of Bengal is any guide the death toll will be horrendous. The only good news is that is going hit perpendicular to the coast.
Convective outlook today looks better than yesterday with the highest probability in Iowa and western Illinois.

Took kid driving in a local graveyard this morning. She only hit and knocked over one concrete pylon. At least it wasn’t a grave marker.

Chris took our now licensed 17year old grandsons to the local high school parking lot to teach them.
In his time in Wales he taught many, including those who became licensed to drive coaches (or buses, as he was the manager of a transport company which supplied them for school runs).
He would always tell the ones he was teaching to drive cars, “I can teach you to pass your test, but you won’t learn to drive until you have your license.”
A whole lot of truth in that statement.
The UK driving g test is murderous difficult. Few pass first time. The one here is a piece of cake by comparison.
Good luck, ladies. Savannah, believe it or not, you WILL ABSOLUTELY get there, girl. Promise!!!!😘👍🏻
I started my granddaughter out in a large empty parking lot.
We are very close to those large concrete tilt up warehouses. I am using 4 traffic cones from work to station in each corner of a parking space rather narrowly, so she practices parking, backing out, backing in. Better to hit traffic cone, than a car.
It’s the interstate I’m worried about, Rah, and you know why! I-65 and 465 is no joke.
Better than what I used when I was trying to learn to parallel park in front of my house when I was 14 and had my learner’s permit.
I took two curved benches from my parents’ redwood picnic set and placed them at what I considered to be enough space for me to maneuver in. But spatial relations not being my strong point, it wasn’t…
And there I’ll leave that tale of woe…for me anyway😬
(Yes, it is true about teens’ brains)
😆😂🤣😅
Oh nooo!!!! LOL I’ll give you an “A” for attempting to set up your own obstacle course.
I bet you coulda cleared it with a SMART car.
Okay, okay….it was all four of them. Not dissuaded by failure you know😎
Try, try again…fortunately I’ve blocked out what happened after…😏
At fourteen, judgement was not my long suit.
I-69 first. North of Ft. Wayne. South of Bloomington on I-69 would be even better, but I remember correctly your up here not too far from my neck of the woods.
Remember to explain to her to look out ahead and she will naturally keep the vehicle between the lines without really having to think about it. Rookies try to use the hood as their reference for doing that and thus are concentrating so much on staying between the lines that they loose sight of what is going on ahead of them.
We are in Whitestown – amongst the concrete tilt up warehouses. Great for country driving – not so much for interstate!
Jwoo, with my children I just couldn’t. Though I pride myself on being calm and cool, in contrast to certain other excitable family members, i just couldn’t be driving instructor. Ans I remembered how nervous I was trying to drive with Daddy. He was a calm man buy he just didn’t have confidence in my abilities, and had visions of disasters.
My brother on the other hand had taught me, and then volunteered to teach my three to drive. He went to an industrial park that was empty on weekends and was endlessly patient as well as nonchalant. He loved my kids but not with the insane level a parent might have.
Some things are good to delegate if you can. Meanwhile may the angels protect and comfort the both of you through this passage
No doubt about it. This is going to be a major catastrophe and expect the climate change vampires to jump right on it. That cyclone is already a CAT 4 and is strengthening as it approaches the coast. Much of the area it is headed for is less than 2 meters above sea level and inundated by tributaries to the Ganges river. Thus storm surge will push far inland into densely populated areas. The largest refugee camp on earth is in the path of this storm. Storm surge kills far more than winds.

Some days inspiration strikes. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does…watch out!!😁

My kids totally believed I had eyes in the back of my head.
Hahaha!!! Gramadeb, I’ll never do it justice, but my oldest years back when she became a first time mom of twins (now aged 17) gave me a Mother’s Day Card…
On the front of it was a freakish picture of the back of a woman’s head. She had long hair, and had parted it so that there were two eyes staring back at me….
The greeting on the inside said,
“I always knew it was true!”
The best card I ever received, saved forever💕
Love it!!!!
They always hear you Betsy 😂🤣👍

Oh yes they do, dear Jim😂😂😂. Grown now, but they still do.

OH my. Reminds me of Medwyn’s Valley in the Chronicles of Pyrdain books. It was hinted at in the books that Medwyn was Noah.
I think I would love it there friend. You see the beauty that God created all around us that most miss. I always wanted to have some wildflower meadows for the grassland birds which is in short supply. I saw a pair of Indigo Buntings with a Meadowlark in an area close to me that still has 2 farms and some untouched grasslands yesterday.
So pleased your day was just as you’d wish it, molon. Looks mighty peaceful😌

Good night, duchess, my friend🤗 May you sleep the sleep of the blessed, which surely you are.😘
Good night Duchess
I’m just getting thru for the day. Lots of cleaning to do after a small venture with the dogs today . We did well in the woods . Brought home some goodies.
Much dirt was covered . Many towels needed tonight . Some are just getting thrown out.
Tomorrow I’m pickin up a boat load of rags and towels and blankets. These four leggers and what we brung home need them badly.
We had a fun day but tomorrow morning is cleanup time , after stocking up . We got a breakfast joint near me opens up at 4am . That’s the first stop.
Good nights friends .

It is such a peaceful thing to do to walk around old graveyards and read the inscriptions. I have walked through many British and Welsh ones. This might sound contrary to the feelings one might expect. But it is really and truly what I experienced. We aren’t the first and hopefully will not be the last. 🙏🏻
I have done the same. Since I know names, especially Celtic, I know the history of those names. I am of course quite respectful of where I am but fascinating to me as well.
Thank you, Abba Father, for this day full of Your mercies and grace…and for friends who share their expectations, stories, sorrows, and joys. We know You are amongst us as we go through our days, and we praise your Holy Name always. Amen.
