Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Very nice WP.
Greetings WP in Jesus’s name.
Thank you for writing your footnotes. You make it so clear! Have you written any books?
And also thank you for pounding away (gently) at the defects in the King James Version. It took a while to get through my hard head but I finally began to read the English Standard Version. Praise God, my understanding of the Bible has soared!
You’re getting drips and drabs here 🙂
I appreciate your post 🙏
“The English Standard Version (ESV) is an “essentially literal” translation of the Bible in contemporary English. Created by a team of more than 100 leading evangelical scholars and pastors, the ESV Bible emphasizes “word-for-word” accuracy, literary excellence, and depth of meaning.
“Suited for personal reading, public worship, in-depth study, and Scripture memorization, the ESV is available in hundreds of print editions on Crossway.org and free digitally via mobile apps or online through ESV.org.
“Since its publication in 2001, the ESV Bible has gained wide acceptance and is used by church leaders, numerous denominations and organizations, and millions of individuals around the world.”
Watch this brief video (10 min) about how the ESV came to be. You’ll appreciate it even more.
It began in Cambridge, England . . .

I use the ESV. THANKS WP. 🤟✝️🤟

Must be the one that left the salt off the rim of the Margarita.
After today Gabby the cat will be without her human pets for up to three weeks as we head down to Florida. My neighbor Steve, who has keys to the house will come over and feed and water her. Geisha the Cocker is going to my Sons house today for her vacation.
God go with you all, rah. We await hopeful news for your daughter. How truly blessed you are with your kind and generous neighbours. They’ll make sure all is well on the animal and every other front. We all travel with you in prayerful spirit.🙏🏻😘
-When the Heavens declare the Glory of God…
Oh Patience…..I’m holding my breath!🙏🏻

Change of plan. Sherry says she can’t stand being away from Geisha that long so we’re taking her.
Good….so good…half expected it to tell the truth, rah💕
Change back. Geisha goes to the Son’s house. She’ll be well taken care of. Sherry is just suffering from separation anxiety.
I understand that all right.
Safe travels, rah. Prayers for your daughter and for y’all. 🙏🏻
Thank you all!
You are a good man and a good father, rah. You are all in our prayers. Be well, and be blessed my friend.
The laid back approach. In training for the big time. Looks like the perks might be pretty good at his next gig…
My kitty cats! I can’t live with them. I can’t live without them! They walk all over me, veto my stuff ducts, and do as they jolly well please!
💕🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾💕
Betsy, they don’t veto my “stuff ducts” … (good grief)!
They veto my “edicts” — have never encountered a stuff duct in my life! 💕🙏🐾
Hahaha!! So the autocorrect gremlins attack you as well? I figured I was target number one. Good to see I’m not the only one on their hit list🤗
Lorrie , if you look closely you might find one here 🙂
😁
Too cute! A stuffed duck! Love it!💕
Well, lemme tell ya, you ain’t SEEN problems til you get a feline vetoed stuff duct!

What is it with cats and counters?? All the better to see their kingdoms I guess😉💕
I think it’s to get a better view of what’s going on .
Cats are cool but my boys
I don’t know how they would do with that
You will at some point have to tell us how many you have. Names as well would be nice! 😊
Awaiting their Friday fish n chips
Heck, if that’s what’s coming, I might have to start getting on counters!! Yum! 😁
Good morning Bet! Gotta help them fish n chips go down with some good stout. 🍺
School run this morning, we left early enough but had a pleasant surprise. No traffic until we got to the main road . Like the old times. Explained to Nipper that how it used to be all the time.
last night he was so tired after the skate park that he fell asleep on the way. Barely woke up to eat just a couple of bites and tell my bride he had to take a shower but he was so tired. This morning he was up bright and early, showered, ate breakfast and off we went.
The rest of my morning will be consumed with taxes. Ours are done, just need to review the return, and have been helping my bride with the computer side of working on my SIL’s taxes.
😘 ❤️
Oh bless, G!! He really must have enjoyed it, and good for him.💕 The energy! I sorta, kinda, almost remember those days. Of we could only bottle and sell it, this youthful elixir. I’d be your best repeat customer.😁
Ugh…taxes…I remember having to present 5 years worth at the British Embassy for our final appointment for hubs’s visa interview. I’ve told the story before so won’t rehash. I had divine Help pulling the right forms off and filling them out in 5 hours. Of this I am certain.
The tax code is a minefield (as intended I’m sure). I think of juststevie right about now, bless her heart mightily, dealing with this crushing season. I wish you good luck and speedy figuring, my brother😘
(I’d say coffee up, but if I remember correctly you’re a decaf man, right?)
Decaf is right. Love the regular stuff but don’t like having palpitations. Anyway, I’m seeing my electrocardiologist the end of the month. A little over a year ago we were talking about ablation, that way Ii can get off the beta blocker. It really slows down your heart rate and when you are working out you are very short of breath for about 10 minutes. Sometimes it happens even doing a walk uphill. The way I get around most of that crap is to take it once a day at night instead of twice a day. It still does the job and I’m usually fine working out although my heart rate still doesn’t get past 108-110.
couldn’t do it last year because after the ablation they put you on 3 months of blood thinner and with my veins procedures it would have been a bloody mess. And a real one. 🙂
I’m hoping that the added benefit would be being able to drink real coffee and a bunch of iced tea again.
I should be but am not familiar with the procedure, though I am aware of it. We want you in fine working order, dear friend. Don’t leave us out of the loop on this when you and your doc decide. Aging brings a lot of baggage, doesn’t it…
Sure does dear sister, the ablation procedure is something like that. They go to the heart with a catheter through a vein, then find the area that triggers the extra beats and cauterize it. Don mostly for atrial fibrillation but it should work also for supraventricular tachycardia. I just don’t like having to take blood thinners for 3 months.
No, I get that all right. My daughter had a year fatal blood clot suddenly, when the boys and their sister were very small.
She was on blood thinners for what seemed forever. Was relieved when eventually they were stopped.
And the taxes were done. Just had to double check the return. Everything is good as taxes go. We owe a small amount but not a biggie.
Waiting to get Nipper from school. 😍
Sweet!!! (Jazz hands!)💕
And a pint of Guinness. Morning Patience. ❤️
Some Background: Attended a healing prayer service, and asked to be healed by proxy for the people of East Palestine, praying for the good health and healing of everyone who lived there, and for the land, air, and water. One of the prayer warriors acted skeptical, “They’re saying the water there is fine …” I replied that no it wasn’t, it was bad, and the prayer warrior gave an exasperated sigh and said, “God knows.” The other prayer warrior was far more understanding, hopeful, and enthusiastic, and prayed for revival to break out in East Palestine. (Note: This prayer service took place before Trump announced he was going to East Palestine.)
Now here below is the e-mail I wrote on Wednesday, February 22 to the skeptical prayer warrior, edited only to keep identities private:
Praise Report
Hi Prayer Warrior,
I didn’t take one of the little white testimonial forms because honestly, I didn’t see this coming.
My prayer request at the healing service this past weekend included the intention: for the people of East Palestine to have clean drinking water. Well, today, President Trump arrived in East Palestine to personally deliver a truck load of water bottles to the residents there! 😀
Divine Providence moves in mysterious ways … and as for the safety of the water, yes indeed God knows! 🙂
Praise God! And many thanks to you and the other Prayer Warrior for your prayers! * flower emojis *

Thank you and God bless you for all your support, Patience!
My old computer isn’t compatible with most of the emojis at the Treehouse or I’d respond in kind.
You are as,
if not more,
soulful…. , and a terrific composition
-as your very excellent photography .
– A real work of art ☘️
You are wise to refuse to trust government . . . especially this government. Finally the truth is coming out about the compromised, politically expedient, Covid policies that were forced on the American people. Government hadn’t a clue about what to do about Covid, Big Pharma didn’t either. So, they proposed solutions that have proved to be more symbolic than real—we were subjected to an “officially sanctioned” dog-and-pony. If there was a major failure of the Trump presidency it was keeping Fauci on. The guy should have been fired immediately. With this evidence now coming out, why should any intelligent American trust what these idiots are telling us about one of the greatest toxic chemical spills in history?
Thanks Garrison, and you make some good points about how we need to keep our eyes open and our wits about us … especially now!
It wasn’t a failure of President Trump. Fauci was there before Trump even thought of running for president. Just like the FBI he had to work with.
And the scheme to launch the plandemic was already well underway!
Yesterday’s news contained the usual blather about flu shots–maybe 50% effective. They say that every year–why would you entertain a coinflip?
A good and happy report; thank you Phoenix 🙂
Thanks for your encouragement, Michael!
Your Welcome! 🙂
May I ask ,
Is this the “sand “ you were talking of yesterday?
Good job Phoenix.
Never back down.
Never give up.
Keep praying , warrior. ☘️
☘️🌸☘️
Yes, this was the sand. Many thanks for your support, Molonlabe!
✝️🙏✝️
Phoenix ,
Just Wow !
So Wonderful !
🙏✝️🙏
God is good!
Thanks for your kind words, RyderLee!
Divine providence? Who could doubt it, phoenix.
I think your testimonial here will reach many, many more…as was probably intended. You were heard. All Glory to Him, Who answered your prayer.🙏🏻💕
Yes, thanks be to God! 🙂
Praise the Lord, phoenix! 🙌🙌🙌
Yes and amen, GrandpaM! 🙂
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Mornin’ jay 🙂
Howdy Garrison 🙂
Morning, Patience and dear Ma 😘😘. I always loved her voice. A real shock when she left us.
Patsy Cline!
Loved this.
Lots of things I didn’t know about her.
I did like the story of Jesus visiting her after a bad car wreck, and telling her it wasn’t time yet… we all have our own timeline I guess
Just gorgeous! 🙂
Good morning, Mr jay. Absolutely superb. This is photographic perfection.
Maidin Mhaith Betsy just for you 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
I didn’t want to presume but when I saw it, I felt it just might be, my dear friend…and I thank you💕

Good morning, molonlabe.
(deep intake of breath!!!)
Good morning “Bet”
And a fine morning it is.
I loved the rant of your lil Brit friend.
That’s sort of what my friends sound like but in their own special way .
My friends are mostly very large folks .
We live basically in the woods.
Our town has no street lights , no traffic signals ,
no apartment building .
Just a lot of open space.
Many many farms and ranches and a very very big lake that has 350 miles of shoreline and is 35 miles long . The birds on the lake are magnificent some days there is large gatherings of white birds , I don’t know what kind they are but if I walk out on my dock and clap my hands they all lift up to the sky in unison in a spiral . Hundreds of them all lifting up at once and then settling back down again. It’s quite a sight.
We have no shortage of birds here that’s for sure.
Someday I will post a picture of my lake .
It brings me great joy. It’s one of the cleanest lakes in the USA.
We don’t have 5g here yet.
Am hoping it never reaches us.
Stay strong my friend.
And tell your hubby I said hi.
Hi hubby
☘️🌸☘️
I want to live where you live!! We lived in a rural village in Wales, and while tiny, it did have a small shop for essentials, a railway running through by the River Dee…and farms aplenty. If I say it was idyllic, I mean just that.
So in my mind’s eye, I can see and very much appreciate where you are.
As for the absence of 5G??? Jolly good!! Long may you not have it, dear friend. I feel in times to come, will realize how health and nature damaging it is. Simply not worth the extra whatevers we are all supposed to get with it.
I am leaving for you here a short concert performance which I feel you will enjoy.
This is German baritone Matthias Goerne, who possesses one of the most resonant voices I have ever heard. I hope you enjoy listening to the Schubert Lieder he sings so beautifully and expressively.
About three pieces in he sings one of the most gentle lullabies which went straight to my heart. You will know which it is as soon as he starts.
(Thank you for your wonderful greetings to my husband, which I am duly passing on🤗)
Bet . A lil slice of my heaven
This is the view from the end of my dock. Lots of “smoke on the water” some mornings. The sun comin up over the water each day is a new show of color.
I’ll get you a nice am pic soon
Oh how marvelous! There is nothing un-nice about this one. And I suppose on the end of your dock there are days when you sit, fish, and think? I certainly would. What a peaceful place you live in, my friend. 💕
it is marvelous
that’s another good word
marvelous
you would love it here
Oh I absolutely would😍
Beautifully cool blue serenity in this waterscape!
😎😎
Morning Molonlabe!
Good morning to mr grandpa.

Howdy Gramps 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
Although he never makes a big deal about it, Paul Simon is a seriously good guitarist. If you’re interested just pay attention to how he improvises—the guy has serious chops. 🙂
Classic songs from that era… songs that not only were great music, but also told a story
Kathy’s Song is especially poignant, especially if you know the back story. It would make a good movie, I think (just watched Almost Famous for about the 4th or 5th time . . .).
Thank you for the nice tunes Garrison.
Homeward bound is the best . ☘️
☘️🌸☘️
🙂 A lot more wistful than the original version, I think. I especially liked this.
Wonderful, Garrison! They were favourites of mine, both with the music and lyrics. For sheer poetry, my favourites of theirs remain “America” and “The Boxer”. I am going to enjoy listening to your selections again once I have coffee in hand. 🤗
“My Little Town”…..and “The Boxer”.
High school music memories.
I loved the beat and music mix in “Cecilia”, but not really the ‘story’.
I’d forgotten about “Cecelia”! And yes, the mix was excellent. Made me move along with it all right.
Campus radio for me . . . 🙂

Good morning Garrison!
Afternoon, Gramps! 🙂

Bubble Rings?!?!?!?
Like Smoke Rings?
Matthew 25:13-15,19,31-33
“Watch (keep awake) therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour in which the Son of man comes. For [it is] as a man leaving the country called his own bondmen, and delivered to them his property: and to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his respective ability, and left the country immediately . . . And after a long time the lord of those bondmen comes, and takes an account with them . . . But when the Son of man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then will He sit upon the throne of His glory, and all the nations shall be gathered [together] before Him, and He will separate them from one another just as the shepherd separates the sheep away from the goats, and He will set those indeed sheep on His right hand, but the goats on His left.”
I see here two distinct accountings being made, that will happen when Christ returns. Judgment must begin with the house of God; and the first accounting will be with the Lord’s household servants, regarding His property and business, which He had given in charge to His bondmen. The second accounting will then be with all the nations, whoever is alive on the earth when He comes. This will be exactly as the Lord on numerous occasions described: gathering all together, and then separating the good from the bad. The first will give account of what they did, and how they managed their Lord’s business. From these of His own household will the more be demanded.
The Lord, who knows and loves all His saints, has perfect understanding how He made us; and with that love and understanding has He given to each of us a portion of His property, and responsibility to use it to run His affairs while He’s gone. By those same considerations will He take account with each of us; as it will be based entirely upon our love for Jesus, that we do good and faithfully with what He’s committed to us. Love is the motivating force of good and faithful work. For so it will also be to the one who doesn’t love his Lord, and holds evil in his heart against Him; that he will not only do nothing of what he was commanded, but he will be a source of reproach upon his Lord’s name and reputation.
By the same measure and weighing of spirits, the General Judgment of the nations will be according to every man’s love, and good conscience, as to how they did to one another. How much anyone knew or didn’t know, as far as the King and His Bible; what everyone did have equally, was how God made everyone’s heart the same. That part of us which still remains of the likeness of God, is the capability and function of the moral consciousness; which has nothing to do with how many talents we have, whether we are small or great, rich or poor, or anything else by which men measure worth.
Romans 2:13-15 “For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;”
2 Corinthians 8:12 “For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man has, and not according to that he has not.”
Finally, the main point of these Scriptures is clearly, that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming in His glory, and all His holy angels with Him, to take the throne of His glory. Upon the very establishment of His kingdom, beginning with His servants the Christians, He will take account; and so will every living soul upon the earth be brought before Him, for judgment; either to be saved and live, or else to be cast away as bad and perish. And in whatever degree of knowledge we have, it is entirely for doing with it our Lord’s business while he is away. Howsoever every man is called, and according to each one’s respective ability; we are all to love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith.
1 Timothy 1:5-6 “Now the end (the thing aimed at) of the charge is benevolence out of a pure heart and of a good conscience and faith unfeigned: from which some having missed the mark, turned aside unto vain talking;”

Weaver’s two most famous roles were as Marshal Matt Dillon’s trusty partner Chester Goode/Proudfoot on the CBS western Gunsmoke and as Deputy Marshal Sam McCloud on the NBC police drama McCloud. He starred in the 1971 television film Duel, the first film of director Steven Spielberg. Dinah Shore = Music ‘Til Dawn on WFAA, 50,000 watts out of Dallas. I’d stay up as long as I could, just listening to the big-band music of the 30’s and 40’s . . . discovered I could easily get by on 4 hours sleep. Oh, to be that young again. 🙂
You got a whole 4?, there were times I was lucky to get 1 hr before heading off to work, but mine was computer gaming specifically the game Myst on a 486 with win 3.1 …. ugh, this PC is thousands of times faster.
On the bright side, it still takes windows just as long to boot for some reason. /s
That is why I now use Linux, Bill & company have way too much spyware built in booting up now.
Now a kid, way too much listening to Indianapolis DJ Asher Benrubi <(Abraham Benrubi’s father)>
on the newest rock station there “the apple”(forget call-sign & his on-air name). (it was superseded by WFBQ-Q95 when Bob & Tom started)
Thank you, Magic – I’ve never heard Dennis Weaver sing before: he has a nice voice. And I love the text. 🙂
Thx,
Alot of actors started on stage, so they all had to sing, I post the ones I know to have roots in stage if the site does not specify it in their write-up of the Obit…. posted some that I never knew sang, like Dennis here, never would have known if I had not looked at (and posted) this clip for Dean Martin on Dec 25.
He does have a good voice.
Some singing talent on “Gunsmoke”, Magic. I had not realized Dennis Weaver was a singer as well…
As was Ken “Festus” Curtis, as I know you will remember…
I definitely remember the voice & the song, watched some Gunsmoke but we were lucky to get 2 channels outta 4, clearly anyway, and 1 of those was an independent station they had a transmitter in Bloomington IN which was closer to us, as well as in Indianapolis where all the other towers were… 2X as far.
And history repeated itself, when TV went HD…. local CBS affiliate complained I was getting national channels on DirecTV, so they had me cut off, I could not get an HD signal off my rather large outdoor antenna… so I cut them off…. Permanently, my television time is limited to what I bought on DVD after I cut them off & Netflix pre-obamination.
Now its basically ARRRRH matie TV or Amazon Prime (free benefit from needing shipping) and not much of that.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7
Amen 🙂 That’s what we need, is the PEACE of GOD, that surpasses our understanding, and guards our hearts and minds in Christ!
“Let the Peace of God preside in your hearts”
“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”
Thank you Val
Peace to you Val

Good morning Treepers
Good morning, my friend🤗 Hope you haven’t been hit by the winter which has said it isn’t done with us yet! Blessings for your day, Joe.
Good morning, Bet. No snow or precip today. It got down to 24 degrees F earlier this morning. I ended up crawling under the covers with the space heater on. Just got up again about 30 minutes ago.
So as you’ve mentioned, winter may not be done here.
Now it’s 25 degrees outside. Brrrs. I still say I’d rather deal with the colder temps than triple digit heat indexes that we’ll probably get this summer.
Have a blessed day, my friend.
We’re cold as well. But this too shall pass.
We are grand dog sitting unexpectedly until Sunday. Our teen granddaughter has a volleyball tournament about an hour is so away on Saturday and Sunday, and my daughter frets if the Mags is alone too long. I’d be the same, so we happily have her with us. And she is happy so all is well. Thank goodness I picked up some more of her favourite bacon wrapped chews. She knows shell be pampered. How soft we are💕
Unbelievable. Someone needs to push this nasty thing down a flight of stairs.
Audience gasps after ‘The View’s Joy Behar implies Trump-voting Ohioans to blame for toxic train spill (msn.com)
Ouch! Eye bleach needed on CTH branch number four!
Or clean up on branch 45?
This witch should be removed from TV forever.
One of many reasons I dumped cable. Don’t miss it at all. How people can watch Behar and The Peeuw is beyond me.
Pffttt…just throw a bucket of water on her….! Holy Water!
and pray over her.
I can picture her melting and nothing left at the end sept them stupid glasses.
her last words being “Truuuuump …..Bad”
Her co-hosts are just as nasty. Not a one of them challenged what she was implying. BTW the change she was talking about had nothing to do with the derailment according to the NTSB and even if it did this administration had over TWO YEARS to make changes.
So it is all a bunch of very nasty hand waving, trying to carry water for the failures of this administration.
….and brainless. As my British husband says, their lifts (elevators) don’t go all the way to the top.
No worries. She’s successfully turned herself into a cartoon figure. She is of little consequence. The more she does, the less she is . . .
You have a straightforward way of putting things Garrison.
what’s that saying.
you hit the nail on the head.
Two wimmin named Joy…this one and the one on CNN or MSNBC, can’t remember…who are two of the misnamed people ever there were.
You got that right
THE DELIGHT OF SACRIFICE
“I will very gladly spend and be spent for you;” 2 Cor. xii. 15
When the Spirit of God has shed abroad the love of God in our hearts, we begin deliberately to identify ourselves with Jesus Christ’s interests in other people, and Jesus Christ is interested in every kind of man there is. We have no right in Christian work to be guided by our affinities; this is one of the biggest tests of our relationship to Jesus Christ. The delight of sacrifice is that I lay down my life for my Friend, not fling it away, but deliberately lay my life out for Him and His interests in other people, not for a cause. Paul spent himself for one purpose only – that he might win men to Jesus Christ. Paul attracted to Jesus all the time, never to himself. “I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.”
When a man says he must develop a holy life alone with God, he is of no more use to his fellow men: he puts himself on a pedestal, away from the common run of men. Paul became a sacramental personality; wherever he went, Jesus Christ helped Himself to his life. Many of us are after our own ends, and Jesus Christ cannot help Himself to our lives. If we are abandoned to Jesus, we have no ends of our own to serve. Paul said he knew how to be a “door-mat” without resenting it, because the mainspring of his life was devotion to Jesus. We are apt to be devoted, not to Jesus Christ, but to the things which emancipate us spiritually. That was not Paul’s motive. “I could wish myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren” – wild, extravagant – is it? When a man is in love it is not an exaggeration to talk in that way, and Paul is in love with Jesus Christ.

There is a strong urge to share what God gives us. I find it a constant with Christians. But, the issue is we alienate people and stop.
My family excused me for awhile until they didn’t. I hardly speak to them at all. They are offended by my words.
I also noticed my perception is clearer about all things. Which also invites more problems. You cannot doubt what you are given and sharing is our mandate. We are the truth and must share it without compromise. Gatekeepers of truth.
Giving of ourselves is to channel God to others, without that movement we become stagnant and sour.
Would I be naive to share when I was first saved? Yes, but that fresh birth creates energy and momentum, and a flow that desires more, a hunger. If we are waiting on perfection we have lost our call. Perfection is not here.
Hello Palerider, I hope you don’t mind, I was reading your post, and totally identify. I have experienced sooo much of the same; and the temptation to just say, Okay then . . . and stop is sometimes pretty strong. I don’t think that feelings of rejection hurting are something we should be ashamed of or have to defend against the critics; I think its part of the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings. If anyone knows what it feels like to be despised and rejected of men; and who has no faults and has never done anything wrong; its the Lord Jesus Christ! So too then we can appreciate better what it means, to “take up our cross and follow Jesus.”
I want however, to not be guided by feelings, but to bear up patiently, and abide under subjection, like Jesus, our Model and Pattern always to imitate. We are told also to take the prophets, who have spoken in the Name of the LORD, as an example of faithfully speaking God’s words, and suffering reproaches.
So, while I look every day to see if anyone has liked and responded to my posts; I have to accept what I cannot change; for “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” The history of this world will one day be laid open to view to all heaven and earth, just how many times, and how many ways, God has sent to people through His servants; and He says, that whether they hear, or whether they forbear, they will know that a prophet has been among them.
I remember before I was saved, as a teenager; there were a few (rare) occasions when a saint of the Lord would be witnessing; like one time when I was working at Carl’s Jr., and a woman came in, and after she ordered, (I was the Afternoon Cook, and handed to her her order), she started telling me about Jesus dying on the cross for me, and that I had to repent of my sins and believe in Him, or I would go to hell. Well as soon as all my co-workers heard the Name JESUS, they all high-tailed it to the back, I mean EVERYONE! but I had no problem with what she was saying; and in fact, I think in my deepest heart I knew what she was saying was the truth. As she was about to go, she asked me if I wanted to get right with the Lord now: and I just did what I thought I was supposed to do, and went along with her, and repeated the words . Of course that wasn’t the actual real day of my conversion; but it was the seed sown, which would eventually send down its root and sprout. It took a while longer before “I was ready;” and then again many years and difficult times for there to finally come forth what God had planted; but He DID give the increase!
Long story! But just for us to keep in mind, that we are unprofitable servants, doing what we are commanded to do; and with all our work in His fields, God is the only One with the power to give life, and cause His own Word to prosper. Also, humans are made in such a way, that everyone has the capacity to hear with a good and honest heart; but most like rather to stay anonymous on the Broadway, where everybody else is; afraid of the disapproval of the world, if they come follow Jesus.
So true Rider….so true! Thanks for posting your thoughts on this! 🙏

Thank you for the Ash Wednesday post.
Very nice it was .

It was lovely, my friend. I will tell you that our bless-ed Menagerie is a lovely and loving lady. It’s hard to know sometimes with monikers, but she keeps a watchful eye on all our goings on in this sheltering Tree and is a mainstay for us all in the Ecclesiastical seasons.

Hey, rah. By any chance, did you see this? I know it won’t happen anytime soon, but one more reason for all parents to homeschool their kids. The “student” who committed the assault needs to be put away for the rest of his unnatural life. He almost killed the TA.

Over at BB, whom I don’t much like anymore but still grace them with a click or two…
Yesterday they had a pic of this creature..
Quite frankly, I found it not creepy but down right frightening…the look on his face and his eyes did not appear to be of this world. Dark, very dark.
As if the camera caught him unprepared to correct his expression, a momentary look into his ‘soul’. It was like looking at evil.
Ditched Breitbart and Drudge long ago.
Andrew B is missed more and more each day. He was made for times like this…alas…🙏🏻
Hi again, Bet.
I, too, haven’t looked at Breitbart or Drudge in a long time. Both have sold out to the dark side.
Sadly… Andrew B, Michael Hastings, Dorothy Kilgallen, and Seth Rich have something in common.
They both have lost me, Joe. One headline today which simply explains why (which my husband read to me) said proof of “global warming” was the horrendous snows (!!!) now enveloping much of the country.
Massive eye roll from me.
I remember the night he left us like it was yesterday.
I can’t even think about it. I get so angry at what happened to him. It’s like we all knew every word he was saying , every day . We knew where he was going , where he was speaking , what he was going to be doing the next days ahead.
And then
He was one of those, like Justice Thomas and Dr Thomas Sowell, when he realized that what he believed was faulty. I have a huge amount of respect for people who are unafraid to say “I was wrong.” Huge!
Home-run, Darlin’! Thanks. 🙂

Psalm 4
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? .
But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
Amen!
“O you sons of men, How long will you turn my glory into shame? How long will you love vanity and seek after that which is false?”
I had a “friend” say to me one time, (and really someone I would not have thought that God would speak through, but HE DID!); he told me, You know, you can’t do . . . forever! Its really amazing how just a word at the right place and the right time can have such a strong effect!
Whatever it is that we think we just can’t live without; even after so much reflection on how empty and worthless it really is; the simplicity of the Holy Spirit’s question, “How Long will you love vanity, empty worthless fantasy, and seek after what is false? How long will you turn My glory into shame?” puts everything in its true light.
Thank you for the wonderful post. 🙂

Although not a religious work per se, this choral song by the great Austrian composer Anton Bruckner (known mainly for his 9 symphonies and religious works) allows one to meditate upon God’s creation.
The piece evokes an echoing mountainous landscape after sunset:
Evening Magic (Abendzauber) by Heinrich von der Mattig Music by Anton Bruckner
Der See träumt zwischen Felsen,
Es flüstert sanft der Hain.
Den Bergeshang beleuchtet
Des Mondes Silberschein.
Und aus dem Waldesdunkel
Hallt Nachtigallensang,
Und von dem See weh’n Lieder
Mit zauberhaftem Klang.
Ich saß am Seegestade,
Vertieft in süßen Traum;
Da träumte ich zu schweben
Empor zum Himmelsraum.
Wer könnte je vergessen
Den wonnevollen Ort!
Noch tief im Herzen klingen
Die Zaubertöne fort.
The lake dreams between rocks,
The forest whispers gently.
The mountain slope is lit
By the silvery light of the moon.
From the darkness of the forest,
Sounds the song of the nightingale,
And from the lake, songs float
With enchanting sound.
I sat at the lakeshore,
Lost in sweet dream;
I dreamed to hover
Aloft to Heaven’s realm.
Who could ever forget
This delightful place!
Deep in my heart
The enchanting tones still sound.
(The acoustics of this performance are practically perfect: the sopranos imitate yodelers far away in the mountains)
Thank you for this. Very much.
One of the things I miss about living abroad is the opportunity to see such superb performances in settings just like this. I’d often catch them on broadcasts from the continent. And when I did, I was in heaven.
And I agree. It is difficult to know how much nearer to perfect they could be.
Bruckner’s symphonies and other works have been my favorites since I was around 12 and first discovered his music in Dayton’s public library…along with the scores!
In fact, I came across the score of the Symphony #7 first and after examining the opening pages, I thought:
“I absolutely MUST hear this!” 😉
Fills that room nicely.
Very nice room indeed.
Looks like they may be on an alter .

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

A declining birth rate can be evidence of hopelessness and/or selfishness in a society. Both traits show a lack of Faith.
It can also be evidence of a terrible economy.
On this subject, may I recommend, Mark Steyn’s superb and timeless book on demographics (his description) “America Alone?”
But it is so much more than that, Ausonius. It was published in 2006. I re-read it every couple of years to test whether that which he has predicted has indeed passed. It is even more interesting to read it with the advantage now of hindsight.
It remains one of the most gripping books ever written which explains why we are now where we are. For me it was “unputdownable”…

ODE TO BILLY RAH
There once was a fella named Rah
Who travelled the nation near and fah
Rig loaded and unloaded
Thank God it ne’r exploded
Let’s celebrate that here Yee-hah!
Have you heard of Rah’s wife Sherry
She’s lovely and oh so merry
She holds down the fort
In loving support
Would ne’r be to the contrary
The life of a trucker’s not easy
The rhythm of the road queasy
Will simply remind
The motivation behind
The loved ones at home make it breezy
The bumps in the road are many
Weather and redirects a plenty
Paperwork is a pain
The hours a drain
The stories Rah tells catchpenny
Inclined to hear a story or two
You’ll not be disappointed if you do
So much to learn
If you have a yearn
To travel with Rah by and by

That was so cool! You have a nice talent for poetry! 🙂 And I agree, I like reading Rah’s stories too.
I remember when you had to be 21 years old to vote and the argument for changing the voting age to 18 was that if you could be drafted into the service to bear arms for your country then you were certainly old enough to vote!
Now in Colorado:

But then will probably push voting age down to 16.
I think if liberals would try to focus more on what they’re good at, like health foods and music, and stay away from things they are not good at at all, like politics, and managing complicated technical things, then we would have a much better balanced world. 🙂

FYI… Miguelifornia does morning worship at 5:30 am Pacific Time (so I miss a fair amount) on Rumble.
He’s a friend of Brendan Dilley; both are ardent supporters of Trump. Also foul-mouthed, so be aware…
But the worship is Bible and great music… just solid Christian stuff, no politics, no spicy language.
I like finding the remnant of Trump supporters on social media and w/in the Christian world.
How is someone “solid Christian stuff” and “foul mouthed” ? ? ?
The Holy Spirit will not dwell in an unclean person. “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks!”
Just release today, a wonderful Christian Russian…I’ve been following him for a long time! Always look forward to his inspirational music! I suspect, by the lyrics, he is concerned by the current events occurring between countries and also the decline of our Christian roots.
Simon Khorolskiy – ПОЧЕМУ – песня о войне на Украине (3:41 mins)
Why’s the world
Trapped in a vicious circle?
The sunsets are now chocking
With the war’s gory flood?
Bleeds my heart.
Brother forced to kill brother,
Soldiers mournfully gather
Being the sons of one blood.
Christian souls
Once on fire, now stale,
Fell as victims in vain…
Coldness, apathy, strife.
Brothers doze,
Ravens fly overhead.
Oh, we need to repent
We have broken God’s heart.
Time to rise,
Joining forces in pleading
To protect our people
With a monolith wall.
Comes the day –
God will judge, the clock’s ticking,
Before Him all are equal,
And the circle He’ll break.
Oh, dear sis, thank you!! It was you, if I remember who introduced him to me. I wasn’t posting at that time so couldn’t thank you.
I do that now with gratitude. What an incredible voice! The ranges of it ate truly miraculous. Off to listen with great anticipation….
This is the one I heard him sing first which you posted. Do not ask me how many times I’ve listened to it, because I couldn’t possibly tell you😉 It is perfection and reaches very deeply every time🙏🏻💕
Beautiful!
“Oh, we need to repent – We have broken God’s heart”
Is the Lord really sad and disappointed? Can it be that He hurts over those who have heard and heard and refuse to obey? Does He pity the drunk and the fool; as the world loves to say; as they themselves all remain indifferent and turn and walk away?
“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? . . . He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” Isaiah 53:1,3-4
Thank you Stevie
Snow down to 1500 ft. in the hills around LA. Bet there is snow on the peaks around Death Valley.
I went into town yesterday during a clearing in the rain (Tulare County about a mile from the Sierra Nevada foothills in the SJ Valley) and the snow was down to the tops of the foothills. Just a nice dusting of snow but haven’t seen that for years. Lots of new snow in the mountains.
We are supposed to get up to 3″ of rain out of this in the valley and 3-5 feet of new snow in the mountains. Just checked the radar images and looks like the serious rain should get in a an hour or so then rain continuously for almost a full day till tomorrow.
About this time in 1999 I woke up to 6″ of snow here in the valley. First time ever I had seen snow on the ground in any measurable amount and it lasted for 3 days.
It’s cold! Our normal temp for this time of year would be around 60-65 degrees. Don’t think I’ll be starting my garden like normal. My almonds are trying to bloom during this so I don’t think I’ll have any nuts this year. Too cold for any bees to be out and about.
I remember, when we lived in Visalia for a couple years, what it was like there. Sooo hot in the summer time! We used to go down to the St. Johns River with the dogs to cool off. We had to take the bus to school; and in the winter time I remember on the way home, when the bus dropped off the Mexican kids out by the Orange Orchards, we would all slide down our windows, and they would throw us oranges right from the trees! I think it had to be in February, ’cause there was some snow/frost all over the ground. That was back in 1971/72.
I kinda doubt if its like that anymore.

Renee Fleming Casta Dive -Bellini
Thank you, my friend!!
I adore Renee Fleming’s voice. It is a crystal clear soprano and simply a pleasure to listen to.
The performance of this aria which most who appreciate opera consider the finest belonged to Maria Callas. And I must confess her voice did not appeal to me.
I much prefer Renee’s.
Someone else who sang this, always to unending “Bravas” was Joan Sutherland (or as she was affectionately known “La Stupenda”). Her high notes were impossible, and yet she reached them with ease. And she was large in physical stature as well. A mighty presence on opera, whose absence is felt…
I have left a small concert with a different voice for you in your reply to me above.😊

Well folks, I’m seriously thinking about retirement.. I’ll be 68 years old in August. I have had Sciatica bothering me for about two years and it seems to be getting worse. It takes a lot of the fun out of my job. I have the financial means to retire and both Sherry and I still live well and so why not? Why not get out there and do some of the things I have been wanting to do and share with Sherry while I still can?
So I’m seriously considering that when I come back from Florida I will go down and apply for SS and Medicare and then work only a few more weeks after that. That will put it in the spring time and we can then start working on doing some things around here that I have wanted to do.
I have worked all my life except when I was a student and even then from age 9 on up I worked at the Family business during the summers. Never applied or unemployment.
Enough is enough.
I know what you’re saying rah. I retired 3 months ago; gotta know when to say when. I have a kink in my back and was getting burned out at the nursing home job. I’m 68 years old, coming up on 69 this summer.
My first official job was at a Chevron gas station in downtown Tustin, Calif. Pumped gas for customers (remember the days before self service?) Changed oil, filters, did lube jobs and minor tune-ups on cars that were in the garage bay. Got my driver’s license on my 16th birthday, my HS diploma when I was 17. Navy boot camp shortly after that. Then sea duty. College enrollment in the mid 70s after leaving the Navy.
So far, so good with the retirement and financial stuff. I get to spend more time with my spouse and don’t have to set the alarm clock for work.
Good luck with the retirement process; another milestone we all look forward to. The labor market is becoming increasingly dysfunctional from what I’ve seen in the past few years.
It would be a change for you, rah, but as I saw someone say once, no one at the end of his life ever said, “I wish I’d spent more time at the office”… or in your case behind the wheel.
I wouldn’t presume to advise so I will leave it at that, hoping your sciatica abates. My father had it. It wasn’t nice for anyone but particularly an active man as he was…and you are. God bless you both. B
🙂
If you’re financially able to retire, do it and never look back. Especially while you & Sherry are still physically able to get around and actually enjoy retirement. We never know how long that will last….
I retired at 66 and have never regretted it; my wife retired one year earlier than me. My dad retired early at 56 (solely on Railroad Retirement and a small pension) and lived as long in retirement as he had worked at his career – 36 years.
Dear friends
If any of you ever get a notice from your county after storm or some such event to boil water.
Please take heed and do it.
A friend of mine just recently died on Feb 20th. it was after a storm in a little town called Englewood in Fl.
I used to live in that area and knew him well. he was a contractor and a kids baseball coach.
he had sinus problems, so one day in order to clear his sinuses he used what his wife said was a nettie pot.
But he used tap water to fill it which blows my mind because I know he had water filtering systems in his homes. so, he used the Nettie pot.
Next thing you know he started feeling real sick, I mean real sick. he quickly went into what was like a coma. they said he got an amoeba or something. he went fast. it ate his brain. sorry to be so graphic but for four days we were praying and talking to her. it was hard for her. it was devastating.
His name was /IS Scott. Scotty S. Good man he was.
Boil water if your told to please, please. please
please pray for his soul and for his wife, she is a sweet kind person.
Thank you, dear sir. It is important advice.
Increasingly I’ve seen stories about people who have acquired that amoeba infection after swimming without nose protection in lakes in the summer and who have perished from it.
I am so sorry for Scotty, and for his precious wife, who is grieving. And yes, of course, prayers for his soul and for her are headed heavenward.🙏🏻
And for you, molonlabe, for the loss of your good friend. I understand too well how deeply you are feeling it.💕
oh Bet , thank you .
its even all over the news
because it was the first in the county
my daughter is around them all the time
i am not , i moved , she stayed in florida
but i was on the phone with them through the whole thing
i have two daughters
one in florida , one lives near me
I’m glad you’ve got one of your girls near you, my friend. I’ve offered my prayers for Scott’s soul, and prayers that He will make his presence felt with all who loved him. Such a seemingly innocuous thing to do. I am truly so dreadfully sorry.🙏🏻
Definitely keeping your friend Scotty S., his wife, and his loved ones including you Molonlabe in my prayers. Very sorry to hear this sad news!
Eternal rest grant unto him, o Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
I use the Xlear sinus rinse (along with their nasal spray) and the instructions for that, plus the other brands like NeilMed and the netipot one too all say to use only distilled water.
Very sorry to hear about your friend; may he rest in peace abd may his wife find comfort in family and friends who find ways to be with her in those quiet moments of grief.
Interesting post by Dr Naomi Wolf. I’d be interested in my fellow treepers opinions on the essay.
https://naomiwolf.substack.com/p/have-the-ancient-gods-returned?
I’ve got this bookmarked from the other day and will read it. I know she has come to the right conclusion though from other words she has written on the same.
In a quick glance, she has noticed what I have…the speed of what has happened and the complete capitulation by every institution which held so much trust. Up to and including, shockingly, many churches. As she called it, a 180 turn so that they are mirror images of their previous selves.
Archbishop Vigano is forceful in his essays on all of this. Whether she is familiar with him and his urgent writings I have no idea. But she is admitting to seeing the same.
Evil does walk this earth collecting souls, SoldiersMom. You can see it, I can see it, we all here see it.
And I think Dr Wolfe sees it. She has done yeoman’s work with the criminal actions of this government with covid. I am looking forward to reading this, and I thank you for posting the link.
I was intrigued by Mattias Desmet’s “Psychology of Totalitarianism” also. It explained so much of what occurred worldwide during WW2 & afterward.
I’m also intrigued by Dr Wolf’s essay.
My conclusion is that both can be true at the same time with the latter being the root of the former.

Psalm 50(51):3-6,18-19
A humbled, contrite heart, O God, you will not spurn.
Have mercy on me, God, in your kindness.
In your compassion blot out my offence.
O wash me more and more from my guilt
and cleanse me from my sin.
A humbled, contrite heart, O God, you will not spurn.
My offences truly I know them;
my sin is always before me
Against you, you alone, have I sinned;
what is evil in your sight I have done.
A humbled, contrite heart, O God, you will not spurn.
For in sacrifice you take no delight,
burnt offering from me you would refuse,
my sacrifice, a contrite spirit.
A humbled, contrite heart you will not spurn.
A humbled, contrite heart, O God, you will not spurn.
I’m like a gnat that comes and quickly goes, never staying around long enough to see if others write, but I hope you bear with me while I tell you a story tonight.
In 1971 a 15 year old girl met an extremely, painfully shy 16 year old boy. Oh he was the captain of the wrestling team, on the track and field team and a football player in high school, but every time one of the pretty cheerleaders wanted to talk to him he froze and couldn’t talk. They all thought he was conceited. They couldn’t see anything else.
The 15 year old girl was a wild child who talked to everyone and anyone, and always blew kisses to all the boys. She wasn’t a tease, she was a flower child, and she was the only one who ever got the 16 year old boy to come out of his shell.
Two years later the 17 and 18 year old couple got engaged, and the young man placed a simple, but beautiful engagement ring on the young woman’s finger. In 1973 $400 was a massive amount of money for a ring, even though it held a dazzling 8th of a carat!
One year later the couple got married.
God never gave them children, and although they’d wished things might have been different, they trusted God knew what was best.
The couple spent years and years together, through good times, through hard times, seeing many people come and go, and burying many loved ones along the way. But together they stayed, knowing that the third strand was what — or Who — kept them that way.
One night, 48 years later, the now old lady rubbed her cold hands together and a terrible feeling came upon her — the stone in her wedding ring was gone.
Her heart sank.
On the day her husband placed that ring on her finger the pastor said it was a symbol of their love. Now it felt like a huge tooth had been pulled on the setting that remained.
Soon the woman crawled on her hands and knees searching the floors in every room looking for a tiny clear stone. She looked through all the clothes she’d worn, every pocket, every glove that had kept her hands warm, through all the sheets, blankets and towels, through the car and any other place she could think to look, but her stone was gone.
Her heart sank again.
The woman’s tender hearted husband took her to the jewelers and told her to get any diamond she wanted to replace the one that was lost. But the woman didn’t want to replace the missing stone, so she asked her husband to pick something out for her instead. When her husband and the jeweler started wondering how they’d fit a big diamond in the small setting the woman changed her mind and told them she wanted a small stone, just like the one that perfectly fit the ring before.
They settled on a 1/4 carat — her thinking it was too big, the jeweler thinking she was nuts for not taking advantage of getting a bigger stone.
So with a sad longing in her heart, but her true heart still there by her side — her husband of 48 years — she left her ring to pick up 4 weeks later.
That was 11 days ago on Valentine’s Day.
Last week the woman remembered she’d hand washed some old linens in the basement sink, and wondered if the stone came off then and went down the drain. The p-trap on the basement sink was huge, so early in the morning, before her husband would think she was a wacky old gal, she tried removing the trap. Instead of removing the trap she made the pipes leak, so she tightened them up again and told her husband what she’d been up to while it was still dark outside.
This morning the woman’s husband — my husband — told me he was going to remove that p-trap and see if the diamond might be in it. I told him I’d check through the gunk for him, to which he happily said, “It’s a deal.”
He brought the pipe up, still full of water, and I took it up to the kitchen sink.
I took out a large white bowl and poured the water from the trap into it. Looking into the bowl all I could see was water and sand. Still hoping beyond hope I’d find my diamond, I told myself that it is a clear stone in water and that I probably wouldn’t be able to see it in there, so I felt around in the water to find it.
But it wasn’t there.
So I felt around the ends of the pipe to see if the stone might have gotten stick to some of the gunk there, but nothing was stuck to the goo.
I emptied the bowl and told myself I was going to fill the pipe and empty it into the bowl one more time.
As I poured the water into the bowl I heard it — a little “tink” — and I could not believe my eyes. There in the bowl of water sparkled a lovely crystal stone.
So on this night where I am in awe of God for being so merciful, kind and generous towards this sinner, I want to share my good news with you. And like the parable of the lost coin in Luke 15 tell you that this old woman swept the house and searched carefully, and now that I have found my “lost coin” I am indeed sharing my good news with you.
God is so merciful, kind and generous towards this sinner.
Congratulations on finding your lost diamond, Raven! Your story is one filled with faith, hope, love … and perseverance! 🙂
What a touching story. Thank you for sharing.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
