Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Oh my❣️
Bottoms up
Good morning Patience! ❤️
Morning, G. Saw you have an all day retreat. God bless each and every one of you for a very good day.🙏🏻💕
Good morning, Pa ❣️

No half full glass there…😍
Heads up….
Poor little thang😿
Thought the same…also 😪
If there is liquid in that glass— I’m not liking it. Not cute. Mean.
Fairly certain it’s coloring in the glass itself. Look at the stem where it meets the bowl. Top ~1mm or so has the dark shade, but is below the curve of the bowl, not a place liquid could reach based on every wine glass I can recall seeing.
Yep…

Thanks for posting “World’s oldest Hebrew Bible”!
I highlighted two key words familiar in English:
“Shalom” Peace.
“Adonai” Lord.
May this inestimably precious treasure find a safe, secure and respectful place in which to remain for another 1000 years, if it be God’s will.
Coincidentally, while I was reading this to my husband, he, at the same time was reading this about an archeological dig in Iraq.
Can’t access the article unfortunately…paywall.
Here’s is an unpaywalled one at Arab News site:

and from National News:

Thank you, Bessie.
The Telegraph got uppity. It used to be my paper of choice when I lived there. It was sound with impeccable reporting and editing. At one time under the auspices of Conrad Black, now Lord Black (who was targeted and imprisoned by Obama, pardoned by President Trump).
Time has passed, as has Lord Black’s leadership, and with it, the sinking of a once great broadsheet into the cesspool of political correctness and reprehensible ideologies.
I do appreciate your finding the story elsewhere. Blessings to you.

Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Good morning, Mr jay. Yesterday I found the following and had forgotten about it, until I saw this wonderful picture for which there are so many metaphors I couldn’t possibly count. It is a truly lovely photograph.
“Winter is Temporary, my enduring soul”
There are seasons in your life that are not meant to be easy.
A tree weathering a dark cold night is not expecting to bear fruit to blossom then and there. One’s job is simply to hold on tight until the spring season shines once again.
From outward appearances, all signs indicate that the future looks grim and bleak, yet nothing is permanent. Not the barren winter nor the leafless branches.
Fruit will come if only one endures.
You are that tree, and sometimes all we need to do is hold on tight to God when all else fails.
Just hang on.
Help is on the way.
Your season of trials causes your roots and steadiness to grow far deeper than you ever thought possible.
Peace, my soul, even when the cross feels so heavy. You’re not alone.
No perceived silence can separate you from God.
He’s there.
Closer than you can imagine.
No winter too cold. No storm too chaotic.
One simple day at a time, precious tree.
You pass these tests by simply surviving, and then one day you wake up with a harvest of fruit and blessings.
Your weakness is no challenge to God.
That’s all you have to do.
Cling to hope.
The corridors of your heart become filled with riches all because you endured.
Future generations will enjoy the shade and covering you paid for, oh tree that has stood through many winters.”
…from someone named “Pepe”.
Unending blessings to all precious souls in this never leafless Tree.
That is most beautiful, Betsy. At first, when reading.. I thought they were your words and thar I had missed something tragic regarding Jay. Prayers immediately started. Then, as I read… I realized you were quoting another. You are so well read… and it is so lucky for us you are. Standing firm is so important to us.
I woke very late today, not until 930 am… which is about 4 hours later than normal. Even the cat Harold had tired of lounging. Felt like I missed the class bell, as sunlight streams in.
God morning to all toe-dangling, limb occupying Treepers.
Good day, JWoo.
😎
Good afternoon, Patience
I wish they we’re mine, JWoo. Alas…
I found them so apt for where we find ourselves, and I don’t mean in winter, as I’m sure you understood it as well. If they are someone else’s words I always place them in quotation marks and where there is attribution, I will always give it.
I can only marvel at people who are inspired to write such words….
…you have that gift, my dear friend. Though I doubt very much you might think so. Good hearts bring forth much good fruit. And that is you💕
And hahahaha…missed class bell! On the rare occasions we sleep in, I feel the same when I arrive here…or as I think of it often, I’ve come on in the middle of a sermon in a church service.
On those days, it takes one cuppa tea and one coffee before this old brain is functioning, so that I don’t sound as if I’ve been on a bender the night before😉…trust me, I’ve never been on one those, by the way!😘
Betsy speaks and HUGS commence. You are a precious edifier and encourager, dear friend. I’ve passed your post forward – because it should be shared – far and wide.
The kiddo and I are out and about handling errands. The conversation is much on college. She has heart and mind for the law and to be a judge, but also is showing skills mechanically (much like her old Momma bear). She brought up Mechanical Engineering for the first time this morning – specifically aircraft engines – she has a propensity for flight. Discussing further, I reminded her my former employer has a very prominent and important industrial engine plant right next door to Purdue (not aircraft engines, though). When she was just a wee tot – she brought home a library book to me on internal combustion engines – that’s MY GIRL.
If Engineering, Purdue of course… however she has a heart for Valparaiso University – our dearly departed friend’s family is there in town and we love that town. It’s “only” $45,000 a year and that’s without room and board. (Heart palpitations – but then the breath slows because I know GOD IS IN CHARGE. It is not as if we haven’t conquered and overcome “the impossible” before.) Our waiter, who we know and have had great conversations with in the past, is a former special education educator. He pops back around and says “Why were you speaking of Valpo? It’s my alma mater!”
Affirmations. Lord must think it’s funny to poke at me.
We often talk of her piloting as a side gig to put earnings towards her education. Piloting helicopters to transport to offshore platforms, EMS pilots, and the like… are a great profession. A beginning pilot’s license runs about $10 to $12K and then one builds from there. She might need a more blue collar job in the event universities don’t straighten up and value one’s mind over Covid jab status.
We proceed forwards as if the “crazy” doesn’t exist. It has to fall away. It’s a house of cards.
God IS in charge, JWoo.
Whatever her chief passion, it will rise above the others; and as night follows day, He will guide her as she pursues it.
Mechanical engineering would, I think, challenge her. She just sounds as if she is one who would appreciate a challenge and thrive in a subject which interests and tests her. She’ll let you know when she’s ready😉.
I think of my son who I never considered having an aptitude for anything mechanical. Never showed an interest…in that or anything else specifically.
Fast forwarding through the ups (few) and downs(too many and too deep), today he is an industrial HVAC specialist, with a well known company, and accolades for his work and service doing something he is very good at. Who knew? Neither he nor we had any idea.
But God did…
She’ll end up where He wants her to be, no question. And I’ve no doubt wherever that is, she’ll give it her all.🤗
How great you two are so close, my friend. Makes me smile to think of it. Hoping even just errands together was a good day out. 😘
Your son, even with few ups and many downs… landed just in his right spot. I am a huge fan of the blue collar trades. Such valuable education and instant gratification when a broken machine rises to life again and warms, or cools, the family it serves. He is doing well and probably appreciates his life scars. It’s that grit that strengthens our resolve.
We do have to let them find their own way. Hopefully all while mitigating costly errors and detours. LOL
It’s a hard thing to do, per your last two sentences. And if we are honest, the hardest thing we will ever do🙏🏻
Maidin Mhaith Betsy very nice. Winter to me is a calming time to reflect because of the quiet it brings. Enjoying the world God has made in each season 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
The season can be, and that is the way I see it as well, my friend.
I took this to mean another kind of winter…the one we are all living through now with seemingly no end, no matter what the calendar says. Our national “winter” and for some, spiritual or personal “winters”.
These, as well as actual winter, too, will pass.💕
America is in a bad season for decades now as is the world I believe. But my focus is on the Lord and his truth which must come to pass. So in him is my soul and faith so nothing really bothers me for so long now that I can’t remember when the last time I even wondered why are these things happening. Praise God for his son Jesus Christ
🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
Amen, Jay.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Shalom, Shalom = Perfect peace.
🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸 Glory to God in the highest 😁😁
and peace to His people on earth.
“Shalom, Shalom” = Perfect peace. I love that, Della. Are you watching “The Chosen” also? Simon said that to the Roman soldier, Gaius, in season 3. It’s one of our favorites to recalibrate our minds from the world.
I love it, too, JWoo.
Actually watched that episode last evening and that scene was fresh in my mind. It touched me deeply.
Have seen all the seasons three times – never grow tired of them!
Me, neither. It is such a timely respite from the madness. I love how Gaius has such a gentle curiosity and a genuine love for Matthew. He’s using his position with the Roman Army to aid the Christians. Remember when he was instructed to make life inhospitable for the pilgrims who traveled and set up camp at the edge of the city in hopes to see Jesus preach? Then Gaius went around and was actually helping the settlers and not dissuading them. I hope he can reconcile to ask Jesus for help for his son who is ailing. Gaius is on the cusp of faith, as I feel so many are.
I hope we all have the casual relationship with Him to never recoil from seeking Him and His Help no matter what shape we are in or our level of faith. He loves us, even broken. I so appreciate that, as I am often broken.
Yes, I remember that – actually defying orders in subtle way!
My GS believes Gaius will be the Roman soldier who says, “surely, this was the Son of God!” after Jesus dies. (just a guess)
This GS is the one who persuaded me to watch The Chosen in 2020. He raved on and on about it until we finally watched together. Even now, after each episode, he calls to talk.
Oh yes, JW, He loves us no matter what. The Lord specializes in broken pieces, of which I have many. I’m His “cracked pot.”
And in those days or even seasons of life when it’s hard to voice the right words, I’ve found He hears me when I say, “Help me, Jesus. Please.”
Watching last episode/season 3 in a bit – again. 🥰
I think Gaius will be the centurion who said, “Lord, I am not worthy that you should come to my house. Just say the word and my servant will be healed.”
You know, I think you’re right! Hadn’t thought of that one…
At any rate, don’t know how long I can keep watching … closer to the crucifixion?
I’m thinking that I read somewhere something about 8 seasons total? But don’t qquote me on this. 😁
I hope so – not ready for it to stop!
He fills those cracked pots well, Della. His favourite vessels I think.😘
We certainly hope to be filled Betsy – With His Holy Spirit!
I have a white glazed flowerpot that is a favorite. Left it outside last winter with an evergreen inside and didn’t realize it would crack. But it did in several places.
Decided to keep it – flaws and all – as a perfect reminder of myself.😕
Sigh…so say us all, dear friend. Cracked, patched and redeemed by our Lord who love us. 😘🙏🏻
Amen and amen.
Preach it, Jay! It’s amazing how God gives us the peace that supasses all understanding and immeasurable joy.
🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
Oh Betsy, thank you dearly for sharing this encouraging essay on the enduring soul.
Th Bible tells us it will not be an easy journey here in this world. This certainly is evident when one is plagued by chronic pain.
It is all too tempting to walk into Satan’s pit of despair, to succumb.
Cling to hope from and in God, precious trees.

Illustrations from “The Night Gardener” by Eric and Terry Fan, 1st edition February 16, 2016
I am in awe of those who can illustrate so beautifully. I’ve been known to buy books for the illustrations alone. Any that capture my imagination and draw it further.
Many times I will sit and look at an illustration for longer and wonder what sort of mind conjures up a scene and is able to put it on paper. It is a gift to be able to do so.
These are simply wonderful! Thank you for posting them.💕
Beautiful. Thank you dearly, Betsy.
I found the author or poster:
https://pepelivesmatter.substack.com/p/winter-is-only-temporary-my-enduring
Oh wonderful, aDoozy!! I wondered if it was the same Pepe. And for some reason I am very surprised. I hope from my heart that if you are in chronic pain, my friend, that, please dear Lord, he would grant you relief from it. And to that end I am placing you (or whoever it may be) atop my prayer list for it. I know many for whom this is a terrible issue. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
-The long and winding road
I used to get white line fever , but now I’m home at night. 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸
Hmm? White line?🤔
Road marker “ white line on the highway “ 😎
Oh! Haha hee hee …duh 🤪
It is so good to be “home”, yes; indeed.
I read that they are there so you can focus on them when you are blinded by headlights coming the other way. They will keep you on the road instead of veering off. Good to know. ( I know. It’s completely off topic. Sorry.)
No worries mate 😎
Nothing is off topic here, June. Nothing…😊
One more?
🇺🇸😁🇺🇸
Sort of timeless, isn’t it?
Haven’t heard anything by 10 Years After in a long time.

Morning jay! Got to head out in a few and be away for most of the day but will try to listen later. TYA was one of my favorites.

Thanks Jay, an excellent set of choices to start a Sarurday.

Ana Carolina is a Brazilian musician. Drop dead gorgeous, great voice, killer guitar player, enormously popular in country . . . She sings love songs. Enjoy Treeper, friends 🙂
Howdy Garrison 🙂
Mornin’ jay 🙂
Good morning Jay
Good morning Joe!
Mornin’ Gramps. 🙂

Morning, Joe😊
Mornin’ Joe 🙂
Good morning Garrison
Good morning Garrison!
Very, very smooth, Garrison. Perfect for a Saturday. Enjoy a smooth weekend, my friend.💕
Mornin’ Bet. Brazil, being a rather big place, produces some really great musicians. The first time I heard Getz and Gilberto in the early 60’s I was hooked on Brazilian music.
So easy to understand why. South American music gets nowhere the play it should. Don’t know why. So glad to see you post it.👍🏻💕
Nice job, Garrison… and wonderful music
🙂
Goood morning, Garrison❣️
-wonderful… yes!
😎
Mornin’ Patience. After watching her duet with Tony Bennett I wanted to hear a little more of her music. 🙂
Perfect followup, too.
I suspected she and her performances would be following shortly. Wonderful!
Gee, ‘ya think??? 🙂
😂😂😂
Same here.
She’s really something,,, for numerous reasons. A unique, and lovely talent!!!!
Yep. And something that’s a bit rare among many singers, she’s as very good guitar player. Rather than just strumming cords, she plays along with the guitar players in her band.
Absolutely!!!
Father Gubins enjoyed a sixth grader’s talent-show rendition of Leaving On A Jet Plane, so, from him I received my first (used) guitar soon after.
I played (some pickin’ too) just well enough to have an excuse to sing. 😁
Singing, for me,
is like wet is
to an ocean.
I have a granddaughter just like you, patience. She’s the triplet who keeps her identical twin brothers in the set on their toes.
She is a songbird. At 8 years old, she has performed a wonderful no frills National Anthem in front of crowds, no fear.
Her favourite composer is Verdi, whose works with voice are lovely. Shocked the life out of me, but her mother sent a short video of her singing along to the recording which was playing.
Love your metaphor. I’m sure the joy you get from singing you pass straight over to Ma, who must enjoy hearing you as much as I enjoyed reading your lovely post🤗
Wow… she sings well with Verdi 😱; her favorite composer! My oh my…❣️
The National Anthem ; while we all sing it,
frills or not
-is not an easy song to “sing” , actually. I would be balling my eyes out ( with joy of course) if I were you… witnessing her. Sigh
All of us have good rhythm and can sing in this clan. Ma always sang while she worked around the house. Most nights we went to sleep to the sound of her medflies (😁) and some whistling too; like a song bird, I swear! Her father used to serenade young couples when courting to become engaged. Isn’t that sweet?! Yes, GrandPa had a wonderful voice. I miss him.
My father had an excellent voice as well. Played harmonica and the accordion. And, boy could he dance.
My voice ain’t special, yet people always assume I must be a professional. Guess they hear my inners.
Natural Woman usually slays! ((( blushing)))😂
She sings parts of Verdi😊…words like Gloria in Excelsis… hoping one day I’ll be sitting in the audience at her Met debut.
A happy house always has singing in it. Yours sounds as if it was one of the happiest.💕
Wow. We don’t see many contraltos make it big in pop music… She is exceptional.
Top of the evening, Garrison.
Trump won.
And by going to East Palestine, Ohio he shows he IS the real POTUS. The real President of real America.

Happy Caterday, Treepers. Pet your kitties for me!
Good morning Garrison 🤗! I always love it when you say “pet your kitties for me”…such a soft cozy warm saying! I hope you never stop saying it…LOL! Have a Blessed day! 💝
Thanks for the kinds words. Since this is our “Caterday” it just seems appropriate to go pet a kitty . . . Little ‘Tink, my all black foundling, thinks petting her is my primary job. Next to feeding her of course. 🙂
You are multi-tasking. That’s the job description of a cat’s staff. 😁 That she hasn’t fired you yet says you’re measuring up to her expectations.
Too true, Bet. I’m definitely “her” person . . . 🙂
There can be only one😁
That was hilarious!!! Kiddo enjoys those Dear Kittens mucho! Thanks, Garrison
Happy Caturday … I think …
… but the black cat can’t help itself
neither can the other
The cat is beautiful.
More said in those few words than anything you could have posted. Love it!!!!!!😁
Ick.
Left side “Ick” for sure.
Greetings Treepers! Busy day for me tomorrow…(Insomnia me😜).
Grace to one and all! 🔥✝️🔥
Updates:
My son in-laws sister (17), made it to the US from the Ukraine. She’s with her mother in Northern Nevada. His fighting age brother got a divorce and is still living around Mikolaev…details sketchy.
My big bruiser male cat either passed on or moved on about 45 days ago. Our female black beauty just keeps getting bigger. She eats like a dog! We thought she’d give birth by now. I’ll send a picture if I can figure out how to upload it here from my iPhone.
MILaw made it home. We’re surprised they released her. She’s very weak. Oxygen levels usually below 87, etc., etc. The quality of care and demeanor of the staff was questionable at best during this week long stay. At one point, they let her blood sugar drop into the high forties!
I thought I was being prudent when I launched the tree services business but now I’m having second thoughts. It’s profitable but it’s more on my plate than I need. Plus if I’m not careful, it’ll draw my energy away from our core businesses. Blah blah blah. We’re very blessed. I’m not complaining one iota! Maybe I’m just not catching enough fish this winter!
Maybe I’ll just read about the supremacy of Christ in all things in Colossians.
PS…You people are wonderful here on the OT…even you non Texans. Hehee. Nite nite! 🤠✝️🤠
Continued prayers. Dear Frank. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
Mother Francis, Frank?
This sort of “care” seems to be becoming the standard now, and I am sorry. And I am shocked that a hospital in the city where I know you are has lost its humanity. Shouldn’t be…am.
We know she will receive care at home from those who love her. And I pray she will do so much better because of it. All here offer prayerful support for Rhonda, who I am sure is feeling the worry and the strain. And for you as you consider clearing your overloaded plate even just a little bit. You are always among family here, as you well know. BNM🙏🏻😘
Great that she is home. Do you have O2 on hand for her as needed?
Hi Frank,
Thankful your MIL is home and recovering there. Much likely a better environment for her healing anyway with the state of our medical system.
Blessings too on your son in law’s sister, home with her Mother. I’m sure that Mother was wringing her hands until her precious girl was on safe ground. Will keep her brother in prayer as he sounds as though he could be in harm’s way. Not much I trust when it comes to the Ukraine situation.
I am sorry about Bruiser. I pray he is safely prowling and may find his way home. I hear that if you put their litter box out, they will return, but not sure if his scent remains after all this time? As for the impending babies, yes… please do post pictures. I will work hard at refraining from adopting them all.
The day I stopped ridiculing Pee Wee Herman (with Kate Pierson of The B52s)
Kate Pierson was spectacular. She knew how to seize her moment. wow. Pee Wee was her stage prop. 🙂
yep
The day I stopped ridiculing Don Knotts … (with wife Loralee Czuchna)
Indeed, Nimrodman.

Robert Downey Jr publicly thanks Mel Gibson for helping him get sober
Video linked in tweet…
Who knew? Not me.
Thanks for sharing…. would love to read more of that story, of Mels, and Roberts. But for the Grace of God, there go I
“There but for the Grace of God go I” is something I heard often as a child. Something I think of as I see others in this world who are facing terrible battles.
The corollary to that which sticks hard with me is, don’t think it can’t happen to you.”
I think remembering both is essential to keep us grounded with compassion and humility.
Yup.
I remember when everyone in Hollywood and beyond tried to demonize Mel Gibson…make him out to be unstable and off the rails for the accusations of the worst sort of abuses against children by an entity which has, through their fruits which we can all see and recoil from, didn’t appreciate being exposed..and made him a pariah within his profession and beyond.
Robert Downey overcame his demons. I never realized it was Gibson who, here on earth, stood by him and who introduced him to the one Helpmeet Who sustained him through his terrible trials and failures and remarkable recovery.
Knowing what we know now, I shouldn’t be surprised, am not surprised, and am so glad to see this uplifting confirmation of the power of faith in Someone infinitely greater than we are.🙏🏻
I hear there is a sequel to Passion of the Christ coming out with Mel and James Cavaziel. We are incredibly sensitive about the crucifixion of Jesus and not sure if we will be able to watch when “The Chosen” comes to it… but it is one of those stand firm moments for us, I hope.
We have The Passion of the Christ but have not watched it. Maybe this weekend since daughter is free for 3 glorious days.
I’ve not seen it either, though those who have seen it have come away much moved by all accounts. And yes, another is coming.
I do not think James Cavaziel, knowing his deep faith, would involve himself with anything like this which was not true to his profound Christian beliefs.
I have watched The Passion of the Christ many times.
My family laughs (with me) because there’s one place in the movie that I start crying even before the scene. It’s the one were Jesus falls with the cross on his back . His mother runs up to Him thinking about how she could protect Him when Jesus was young. Mary kneels when she gets to her son. Jesus looks up to his mama and explains to her: I make all things new! 🕊💕
I don’t know why I do this… maybe seeing a mother watching her chid go through this. Jesus who loved his mama wanted to tell her why he had to do this. The love Jesus had for His mother.
Hi Donna, I’ve watched the Passion of Christ several times in earlier days – but just can’t now. 😭
And can’t remember if this is in the movie, but it is in the Gospel:
While Jesus was hanging on the cross, looked at John and asked him to take care of Mary going forward. It’s so hard to wrap my head around that! Jesus was in His final, agonizing moments, yet His love and concern for His dear mother was His utmost concern. No words … only tears.
Mel is working on saving children as well.
God bless him for that, patience.
Yesterday my husband saw where Michael Jordan has given $10 million to Make a Wish Foundation.
My “wow” reaction was tempered with the memory of that organization a while back cancelling kids with life ending afflictions because they weren’t jabbed.
Inhumane, terrible, cruel. Beyond belief.
Yes… there are some truly sincere people in this world.
Can you imagine “I just want to thank my lord and savior for my sobriety” .
Yes I can…my son is one.
May God’s continued Blessings be upon your sin, Betsy. 💖
Oops, Patience, think you meant Son!
😂😂😂…I knew she did. Its something I would do…and have!!!
Thank you, patience.
I was talking with a woman from Scotland last week and she told me that the Scots did not like Mel Gibson’s portrayal of Braveheart. Who knew. Scots don’t like Mel Gibson.
He’s not a Scot…makes sense.

Good morning Treepers
Good morning Joe…26 here but it’s gonna warm up nicer today…😻 Blessings to you 🙏
Good morning stevie. 30 F in my area. And clear. This is my favorite time of the morning. Nice and quiet. Still dark outside. I let the dogs out for a few minutes, had them come back inside as it’s a little chilly out there.
You have a blessed day.
Morning again, Joe. That’s a picture of utter peace if ever I saw one. If we could all sleep like that….😉
Good morning juststevie, it’s 26 here, too. And it’s much further south.
Yep, you’ll be shedding any coat you wear later this afternoon ~ and that’s not a complaint! 😁 Have a Blessed day my friend! 🙏
Good morning GrandpaM. Just sitting here and drinking some coffee. I have a website open and am listening to updates on earthquakes around the world. So far, no major quakes, but there was a 6.1 magnitude quake recorded near Taul, Indonesia yesterday. I wonder if another large eq will hit that area again.
I am very concerned. My daughter is scheduled to visit her childhood friend who lives there. Supposed to be going in June.
This lifelong friend has lived abroad in Asia all her working life, and has generously used her squillions of air miles for my daughter’s passage.
The last earthquake before this one did not affect her. But…
Together with all the concerns surrounding the airlines these days, I am not a happy camper…come the day, I will be placing her firmly in the care of Almighty God, and will be asking my family here, the greatest and most loving prayer warriors for their prayers for safe travels and her uneventful return to us.🙏🏻
Morning B-,
I think it’s OK to start the prayers in advance – like a ‘blessings’ bank. I’m volunteering. Godspeed, Joy and safe travels for your daughter, Lord hear our Prayer!
What a sweet, tear inducing message, dear parichute. I thought I’d put it on the back burner so it wouldn’t boil over. Guess not…bless you always for that.😘
And I thought you’d enjoy another episode of “Posh Nosh”…”Birthday Parties”
Betsy jones: Ah, good old British humor.
The whole series is a riot. No one does satire like the British, billrla. Or inneuendo…short but on target. Doubt these could be made today, which is sad.
🤣 🤣
I love them!😁
Morning to you, juststevie🤗 Same here, cold to start, warming as the day goes on.
So glad to see another Treeper take up residence here, molonlabe. Looking forward to sharing music with him. Nice!
Sweet morning to you too sis…almost afternoon 😊 Yes, we can never have too much GOOD music ~ but that’s subject to interpretation LOL! Everyone here that posts music, loves it…that’s why they share!
It definitely is that! One “size” does not fit all.😉
Good morning, Joe. Love when they’re cozy.
Experiment in posting from a Kindle…here’s hoping…
Yay!!!!!!!!!!
What a sweet picture!
My heart melted, 1530.
I’ve stared at it for several, several minutes, and still it’s not long enough.💕
yep, one snuggled in at the cheek, one looking up expectantly for his turn, one curled up asleep, one sitting contentedly at right, and next to him one with that squinty smile they get on a slow blink
the artist captured pretty much all the emotions at play with a little girl and her coterie of kittys
and birdys taking off in flight in background for good measure
just lovely
💕
awww, cute
And the colours. You can just feel all the love from everyone in it all right.😊
Nice! Who is the artist?
I have no idea, GB.
It was something someone else posted elsewhere, and I fell in love with it. Thought I’d see if I could post it here and was overjoyed when it worked.
I’ll always give attribution if it is availablle. Alas, it was not with this and I am sorry about it, because I’d like to know as well.
No problem. If you happen to discover the name, reply here. I’ll do the same.
THE INITIATIVE AGAINST DESPAIR
“Rise, let us be going.” Matthew xxvi. 46
The disciples went to sleep when they should have kept awake, and when they realized what they had done it produced despair. The sense of the irreparable is apt to make us despair, and we say – “It is all up now, it is not use trying anymore.” If we imagine that this kind of despair is exceptional, we are mistaken, it is a very ordinary human experience. Whenever we realize that we have not done that which we had a magnificent opportunity of doing, then we are apt to sink into despair; and Jesus Christ comes and says – “Sleep on now, that opportunity is lost forever, you cannot alter it, but arise and go to the next thing.” Let the past sleep, but let it sleep on the bosom of Christ, and go out into the irresistible future with Him.
There are experiences like this in each of our lives. We are in despair, the despair that comes from actualities, and we cannot lift ourselves out of it. The disciples in this instance had done a downright unforgivable thing; they had gone to sleep instead of watching with Jesus, but He came with a spiritual initiative against their despair and said – “Arise and do the next thing.” If we are inspired of God, what is the next thing? To trust Him absolutely and to pray on the ground of His Redemption.
Never let the sense of failure corrupt your new action.
Oswald Chambers

There was an opportunity that was lost in those moments, maybe Jesus was alluding to that. What I find lacking in our Bible is the means to access Gods power. It is available to all. And, I believe it was removed over the years because it can be found in many other ancient texts, and recent experiments.
Christ was sweating blood, great distress to do that. I have studied effective prayer it comes with distress. You can self inflict or as Jesus did, was inspired by his complete dedication and compliance, his knowledge of his task. It was all preplanned but he still was under attack, I can’t imagine the stress.
Fasting is not fun, sackcloth and ashes is not a comfortable attire, many times we see in the Bible alone how distress was used in connecting with Gods spirit.
Even coming to God for salvation has an element of pain and hopelessness. Usually sickness brings pain and distress. These things we take for granted did not escape God, it’s there for a reason, all of it. If God ordained it it’s for a reason, we have to trust him and put our faith out there to see it.
Peter! How he must have felt and hated himself for denying Jesus. But, in Mark 16: 1-7, the angel of the Lord told the women to tell His disciples ~ and Peter~ where to meet Him. Why was Peter named specifically in this scripture? Because, God knew where Peter was mentally, and also, it demonstrated to the other disciples that Peter was still to be included, if they had any doubts about including Peter. How generous our God is to us, gentle and kind even in reproach of our ways, to nurture us and keep us in the kingdom.
Thank Almighty God and Christ Jesus Who understand our human frailties and forgive the inexcusable in us so we may, in understanding where we have fallen so short, with abject humility ask for forgiveness.
His mercies are fresh every morning. Where on earth or heaven would any of us be without those and the grace so precious, bought with the life of our one Saviour? A gift immeasurably valuable for which there is no other to compare.🙏🏻
Amen sis…✝
Mornin’ all!
With all due respect, he’s never had much credibility to begin with. We Hoosiers sure know how to grow corn… and dirty politicians.
In fairness, Hoosiers sure don’t have a monopoly on that second one…… Maryland may have ya’ll beat on that, unfortunately.

Thanks sis! 🤗😊
Am sure that it can obtained through a reputable bookseller elsewhere. Despair not!
Thanks, GRM – the link I left for juststevie is for Powell’s Books – very reputable and the price for the hardcover is only $12.50 while Amazon wants $45 🙁
Excellent, parichute! I admit to cruising right past your reference to Powell’s as sometimes when I see references to Amazon, I bare my teeth, a learned physiological response.
ENJOY!!! A short video of Samson and the Church Mice, by Graham Oakley which I saw when I first arrived on Britain all those years ago.
My ABSOLUTE favourite. This is narrated by Griff Rhys Jones, who was perfect. I was captivated at once and immediately bought every book.
Only 12 minutes, but it is delightful.
Wonderful story for children. Well narrated and the illustrations are excellent – watercolors, I presume.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
The last one, dear duchess? Three words more precious than rubies….
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.
Thank you Duchess for your faithfulness to our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🙏🙏✝👑

Verse of the Day for Saturday, February 18, 2023
✟
“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
Indeed He does. He directs especially when we may feel we are lost. He knows where we are and stays with us, guiding us every unfamiliar step of the way…that Lamp ahead of us which through faith we must always trust.
Good morning Treepers!
Its an early Saturday morning and I’m glad to be alive and among you. God is good. All the time.
Thanks for sharing the music and the inspiration. Hers one to be still and meditate with, and one to get going.
Drinkin’ the coffee, listening. Agree. Thank you for these , Doc.
I thought I’d ask chatbot a couple questions and make up my own mind about its planned future use.
I posed a question about climate change being a vague term that could equally be climate is warming or climate is cooling. It quickly went into a diatribe about fossil fuels being responsible for the climate getting warmer and something about it’s better to destroy everything that uses fossil fuels than the climate becoming inhabitable for all humanity.
Clearly only certain information has been shared with it to skew its conclusions.
Second question I posed was since genetics makes one male or female how can someone become transgender without changing their chromosomes?
The future of propaganda distribution which will replace Wikipedia etc. replied;
Genetics make humans male or female.
Without changing human chromosomes can anyone be transgender
Yes, it is possible for someone to be transgender without changing their chromosomes. While genetics do play a role in determining a person’s sex assigned at birth, gender identity is a separate and complex aspect of a person’s identity.
Transgender individuals have a gender identity that is different from the sex they were assigned at birth, and this is not necessarily related to their chromosomes. Gender identity is thought to be influenced by a variety of factors, including biology, environment, and personal experience.
It’s important to recognize that being transgender is not a choice, and that transgender individuals may experience significant distress if their gender identity is not acknowledged and respected. There is a growing body of research showing that providing support and affirming care for transgender individuals can improve their mental health and well-being.
Happy “cartoons and cereal day” everyone.

Good morning back to you GRM! Very nice video! I’m still contemplating on getting a Rumble account. I’m actually trying to downsize my social media…for mental reasons HA! Blessings to you sir! 😊
Understood and thank you juststevie. Blessings to you, lady.
Uphold faith in the purposes of a loving God; however you perceive him to be.
Reminds me of this: Judges 21:25
King James Version
25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
Treehouse, the relativism of your statement of policy is disconcerting. Really, any old god will do?
High today here to be in the mid 40s. But I don’t care. I’m grilling! Two nice NY strips marinating. Meal will be completed with baked potato and a toss salad.
We like a 50/50 of spring mix and baby spinach. Sherry will doctor that up with some tomato, black olives, red onion, and perhaps some cucs or artichoke hearts.
Kroger had whole rib-eye roasts on sale @ Christmas for 5.47/lb, so I bought one that was 100 bucks for my Christmas present to myself.
Finally had a break between heavy snow storms to get it cut into steaks and grilled, it was in the mid teen’s… during a light snow flurries.
Hi rah! I love that you share your food prep and experiences. Betsy will attest, I love cooking and looking up about cooking etc. One of the recent novels I read was by a British author who referred to ‘Jacket Potatoes’ which I figured were what we call baked potatoes. After a little research, I decided to try Brit style recipe. These were exactly as described and were very, very good; crunchy outside and fluffy inside. How to Make English Jacket Potatoes | Cup of Jo Enjoy your taters whichever way you prep them!
Steaks and everything else came out perfect despite the cold and wind. As for the baked potatoes. Sherry washes them, greases the skins with butter, splits them and puts butter in them and then closes them up and wraps them in tin foil before baking at 400 deg. We eat them skins and all.
It took a little over 1/2 hour for the grill to get up to temp after I started it. During the warm months I leave the top up to grill them but during cold and windy conditions I put the top down between flips.
I was cleaning out my email yesterday. Long overdue. I found this email I sent in April of 2018. It is the kind of thing we guarantee salary drivers were doing all the time back then. Makes the what we’re doing now look like a cake walk! I know I couldn’t do that again. I would retire if they started working us like that again.
Subject: The old dog still has his bite.
Went out 05:30 Easter Morning bound for the Wegman food warehouse in Pottsville, PA with a refer load of Nestles product. Arrived over an hour early for my appointment and by the time they got me unloaded I had 48 minutes left of my maximum 14 hour duty day to drive. Went over that limit by 4 minutes getting to a rest stop on I-80 about 25 miles west of Hazleton, PA.
The next morning I awoke with 4″ heavy white global warming to clean off my truck before I took off bound for two stops in Ridgway, PA. They were slow getting me loaded there but I still made it to the Carter terminal in Vandalia, OH (think Dayton) to make my delivery. drove through plenty of heavy rain getting there.
Took another break then rehooked to the empty refer trailer to take it back to Anderson. On the way back to Anderson driving through a deluge I got a call telling me to drop that refer as soon as I got there and hook to a preloaded trailer and take that to Etna, PA then deliver there and drive as far as I could get north up towards Rochester to do a run with pickups in Rochester and Tonawanda (Buffalo). The freight had to be in Anderson Wed. night.
I used all the tricks in my book to save my driving hours at Anderson as I got the truck fueled, got my thermoses filled at the Speedway, then hooked to the trailer and got my paperwork. Hit Pittsburg right during the height of the rush hour getting to Etna on the near north side. Always think it’s hilarious when some driver in a little KIA clown car tries to intimidate a big truck. The guy tried to cut me off but I had 4 lanes to get over with just a 1/4 of a mile to do it after exiting the Fort Pitt tunnel. I was coming and if he kept coming he was going to die. Sometimes it’s just that simple. His little beeper horn was music to my ears.
Dropped the loaded trailer at the facility in Etna and hooked to an empty. Knew the weather was going to be bad up in NY with high winds forecasted so I wanted an empty with side skirts which do better in the wind but the only one there was out of service needing repair. I made it as far as a pull off on I-90 just 14 miles west of Buffalo with 13 minutes left on my clock. Woke up once at 01:30 because the truck was rocking in the winds and heavy rain. First pickup in Rochester was 11:30 the next morning and I was 87 miles away. So I timed my departure to arrive 15 minutes early and actually got there 20 minutes early. They put 22,000 lbs. of perforated steel tubes in the trailer and I was thankful for the weight because the winds were already getting bad.
Then I headed back west on I-90 for the pickup in Tonawanda on the near north side of Buffalo. Passed a big truck that had blown over on the ramp from I-90 onto I-290 going north. Heard about another big truck that had been blown over in another part of town. They were ready for me in Tonawanda so I was in and out very quickly. All bills entered in the qualcom and now all I had to do was make it back to Anderson. Wind was gusting over 60 mph and coming out west. Really tiring driving in that having to be ready every second to correct for the gusts to try and keep it between the lines. Many 1,000s without power in both Buffalo and Rochester areas with lots of trees down. Saw a dead one about a foot in diameter come down. If the winds had been out of the north I would have had to hole up but since I was going west into them it was possible to keep going and maintain reasonable speed.
Hit Cleveland right at the height of the rush hour. Despite all that I drove 668 miles in 11 hours and 1 minute and made it back to Anderson by 22:00. Kind of proud of that. Ran through several snow squalls. The snow wasn’t sticking and effecting traction but it would come down hard in in the wind and effect visibility. Lots of drivers could not or would not have made that run.
Sometime during all of that my windshield on the drivers side got hit with a stone (actually several of them at different times) and a crack started to run across it so last night I arranged for the garage to replace it today. I learned long ago that sometimes there is a fine line between hardcore and stupid. This time I stayed on the hardcore side I think.
That was a rough turn Rah.
Ran trucks after retiring from the USAF. The small farm and Mil retirement wasn’t enough income to support 2 daughters and a wife all attending college at the same time.
Final four years, trucking; ( before pulling the yellow knob for the last time}, did heavy haul for a small independent outfit. Very challenging grossing well over 200k at times pulling mostly big transformers. 11 axle setups. That’s been a few years ago now and I ended just before mandatory e-logs.
Most memorable stretching it out run was El Paso, Tx to Bossier City, La , 811 miles in 11 legal drive hours and an 11.25 hour day. Big W900 KW flat top with 550 Cat and an empty three axle goose neck behind it. All you could see was the mudflaps waving bye, bye, bye. LOL.
Glad I don’t have to do it anymore but I do miss getting out and seeing our great country from time to time.
Regards,
monti

The following is a highly recommended article from Dr. Robert Malone. I subscribe to his (free) substack which is always informing and excellent. I’ve never tried to link a substack article and not sure if everyone will be able to read it. So this is sort of a test…
Sasha Stone ~ Did I just leave a cult? (really good piece)

This is an excellent article Stevie! I discovered it via an email this morning from Dr. Robert Malone’s Substack to which I subscribe. He linked to her Substack and recommended her to his readers.
I listened to her MP3 audio recording of it (on the same Substack page), then sent it to several family members. Sasha has very insightful views. She’s originally from Topanga & Ojai, California, so her life’s path was not too surprising. But she really grew up and saw the Left for what it is.

first try with photo – hope it works
Wow a kitty with all those heart markings…beautiful!
You used postimg. and the pic itself should have posted instead of clicking on the link. Did you use the ‘direct link’ code? Just checking with you so your next pic posts…🤗😊
That is what I wanted but got the link instead. I did select the direct link code but got flummoxed with there being no obvious way to ‘attach’ on the CTH end. I will try again to see if I just had the sequence of operations wrong. The kitty is beautiful and is what prompted me to try my first photo post.
Ok try this…Right click the code showing in the direct link bar and Copy then paste the code onto your post on Open Thread…
Don’t give up…once you get it, it will seem so easy…LOL
Ha! Success. Thanks for the encouragement.

Tuesday Morning is another casualty of the economy. I stopped in on Friday to see what they had just to find out that they were liquidating. The sales associate said they were closing most of their stores in Florida.
I always picture a Spring morning with bird calls and flight rather than “night music”. Ah well.
Speaking of birds, see what I left above, monti. It has morning running through it.
Just lovely! And I love the photo you posted with it, molonlabe💕

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and his family as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall. Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
And prayers up for all political prisoners. Prayers up for Julian Assange and for all the protesters of January 6 who were or are entrapped in DC. And, thank you, Lord, for restoring Pastor Pawlowski.
Thank you Father, for Your love and the gift of Life.
Amen….
