Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Thanks DD
And we reclaim what is rightfully His!
One of my very favourites for this Season of Expectation
I have not heard this one before. I see (hear) why it is one of your favorites. Thanks for a new addition to my collection, Betsy!
You are welcome💕 I first heard it three years ago and was immediately captivated, patty. I’d never heard it either. Truly moving.
Good morning Bet and Frank, one day the symbols and language twisting satan’s servants will be held responsible. God is not mocked!
Have been busy all day yesterday and today with Nipper. Just a short appearance here to say hi and Praise the Lord!
Good afternoon, G😘 Blessings to you all, my brother. Enjoy your afternoon. We’ll see you later. Oh…winter is coming…

Happy Caturday, Leon! — (boy, he’s a handsome one!)
mine’s a little spooked
I got a real chuckle out of that picture. Reminds me of all the hi jinks of my half Siamese black cat I used to have.
That’s ~my~ stack of pancakes you’re holding, right? Not for sharing… mine. RIGHT?
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Winters Here
Now these are some surreal colors! Like the minimalist abstract feel to this landscape!
🇺🇸🥶🇺🇸
Good morning, Mr jay. Almighty God had His paint box out with that one.
(…we’ll be joining your brrrrrrrr in a few days…)
Maidin Mhaith Betsy, I’ve always been amazed at God’s wonderful world he created. 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
I often think our gazes are too narrow. Once we lift our eyes from the daily which demands our attention and which distracts us, we can’t ignore the magnificence of His creation.
Good morning, Bet. It went below freezing earlier this morning. Somewhat warmer now. 36 degrees outside.
Good afternoon, Joe. It was pretty cold here this morning as well. Our “below freezing” will hit on Thursday…13 degrees, dipping to 11 on Friday lowest to 25 highest. If we get wind with it? I dread to think. Stay warm, my friend!🤗
You too. IMO it’s easier to stay warm in colder weather than trying stay cool in hot weather. But when it gets down to zero or colder, it can get very uncomfortable.
Made my husband buy some thermals , and boy is he happy. Zero is existential.
We spoke to my sister in law in Wales this morning as we do every week. The Troll of Trondheim blizzard and deathly cold is covering Britain now. She and her driving (carriage) partner share her 14th century farmhouse. She said they are freezing cold in spite of keeping the fires going. So cold their Aga which heats the whole house perfectly in colder Welsh weather is inadequate for this type of cold. It is brutal there. And in the town where they live, and every road outside of it, the byways are hilly. So driving is diabolical. They are both 80-ish, so we worry.
Nothing for it here except to layer, layer, layer, hot cups of something, and endure. Of course if the satanic green lunatics hadn’t through their insane “policies” made heating so unaffordable, people caught up in this weather wouldn’t be in so much danger.
Joe, I hope you are bundled up and staying inside because I think there is worse to come in a few days.🙏
I seem to have repeated the word “cold” quite a bit, haven’t I?? No other word will do…
Good morning, jay 1776. What a beautiful picture.
🇺🇸👍🏻🇺🇸
What a coinkydink. I was just the other day browsing through my Guess Who catalog. An amazing singer whose music stands strong to this day, with thanks to Randy Bachman. Guess Who’s Greatest Hits was the second album I ever bought with my own money, as a tweener.
(The first was The Yes Album. ’nuff said.)
Still have vinyl and 8 tracks of the Guess Who, one of my favs 🙂
Ha ha, how did you know?! My Guess Who “album” was on an 8-track, so I could play it in my brother’s car when I rode with him.
Mornin’ jay 🙂
Howdy Garrison 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
2 minor earthquakes were recorded in central Oklahoma earlier this morning. Did you feel any shaking or hear any rumbling? I did.
Nope. But then I’m in Texas. 🙂
Oh. For some reason I was thinking that you were in Oklahoma. And there was a 5.4 quake that hit near Midland, TX. Yesterday, I believe it was. Along with a couple of smaller quakes also recorded in West TX.
I’ve never seen a tornado since moving to Oklahoma, but have felt some earthquakes over the past few years. Hmmm.
Our youngest and her family recently moved from Midland…she’ll be in touch with friends there, so I am hoping for a on the ground report and that all are well.
Hoping everyone is ok there in Midland. A 5.4 is a pretty strong quake that can do some damage.
I sat through a 5.6 quake in my area a few years ago. Felt the ground ripple beneath my feet while hearing a loud rumbling sound.
Praying so….I haven’t seen any news save for the announcement of it.
Just heard from her. They are near Houston, but have so many friends on Midland. She said all are fine, and even considered it quite exciting. From what I’ve read, the epicenter of the quake was some 22 km out…
From Oklahoma, originally—long, long, ago. 🙂
Tufted Titmouse — Here’s a bird to join us here among the Treehouse branches! Fine art photo taken by me on a December day years ago at a bird feeder in a Cleveland Metropark in Northeast Ohio.
Wishing all here a Happy Weekend!
Such a pretty bird! 🙂
Delightful, phoenix! What an amazing picture. It looks as if he has a band on his tiny leg. Is that possible?
Very observant about the band! Yes, it’s quite possible. Once while on vacation at Kelleys Island, I attended a bird banding event during spring migration.
They must be delicate and loving hands which attached it. What an experience for you, phoenix. Wonderful…
Morning Bet, please see my videos I just put up here. You will like the song and the opening of the movie about the Battle of Culloden. I used to listen to the Celtic Heritage Hour every Sunday for years. The Bagpipes always get me.
Meant to tell you as we were talking about squirrels the other day, I used to see these beautiful Fox Squirrels in a place where I used to go fishing which was further north. Best to you & yours! (tell me what you think of the links)
Good morning, Colkitto. Well now…isn’t this amazing??
While I was looking at phoenix’s gorgeous little tufted titmouse, I thought of you, and came very close to mentioning you and your devotion to our feathered friends, hoping for all I was worth that you’d pop in and see it. And here you are, my friend! Simply wonderful!
I will certainly look at the video. Remembering distinctly the history of the Battle Culloden which was delivered by our knowledgeable tour guide on my first visit to Scotland. And like you, I adore the bagpipes.
What a little beautiful little fellow above is he? Speaking of “tufted”, look at his ears. Sweet. My daughter who face timed me, as per my post to you the other day, is an avid fisherwoman herself. She has been all over the country in pursuit of her outdoor passion, with her husband and alternately with her father. Nothing she enjoys more and a good break from being a mom to her triplets plus one..away from the hustle and bustle of the day to day.
Off to search for your videos. Will see you on the other side. All blessings to you, my brother…
These out of focus backgrounds are phenomenal. So Christmasy with red and green.
Your a fellow Birder. That is awesome. My neighbor who was like a aunt/grandparent to my family, used to feed the Titmouse’s friends Chickadee’s right out of her hand. The Tufted Titmouse where I used to live was always a steady regular “yard” bird to my feeders. Ty for posting, its a beautiful photo you took
Hail and well met, birder fren! Thanks for your kind compliment! Seems like birding is one of those cool things that are passed down from one generation to the next! In my family, it was a little old lady Irish great aunt who had a four-leaf clover stuck in her bird book! 🙂
What a really beautiful personal story. I have a huge interest in all things Celtic, as well as Nature with a extra special interest in Birds. St Francis has strong ties to myself and family.
So nice to meet you. I occasionally post some bird pictures with some commentary to my friend Bet and the Treehouse here, look for them if you like. All the best
Will surely keep an eye out for your bird pictures!
You would have loved my great aunt. She had a little cottage out in the woods with a flagstone path in the grass. As a young child, I asked her what the flagstones were for since I’d never seen anything like it. With a glint in her Irish eyes, she smiled and said “Ammunition!”
Add 5 more uparrows for clever!
I’d hope you would at some point be able to travel to Assis, Colkitto. I have a friend who, before the shutdowns, took a yearly Sabbatical to Assis. He’d send pictures of the beautiful churches and monasteries there. I have a picture of St Francis I keep on my phone, for peace when I need it. And a lovely drawing my friend, an artist of such talent, made when he was there of St Francis on his horse, the heads of both bowed…the inscription on the bottom of this remarkable sculpture reads “Signore, cosa vuoi che io faccia?
Loosely translated, ” Father, what would you have me do?”
Here is a link…

In Britain, phoenix, you’d be known as a twitcher. And you’d find yourself with innumerable fellow bird watchers anywhere you went. There are some real beauties to see, which are unknown here.
Have sadly never been to Britain itself though I’d love to for many reasons … (prayers to make England great again!) … I do remember seeing (and hearing!) Storks in Spain and Rooks in Ireland. One of the great things about traveling is observing the local birds … and even in the US, birds can have different regional “accents” to their songs.
There’s definitely a bond between birders / twitchers who meet on the nature trail. Instead of “never talk to strangers” … you come across a complete stranger who instead of saying hello, asks “Have the Osprey eggs hatched yet?” or “Did you see the Pileated Woodpecker? It hasn’t been seen in weeks.”
Oh yes!!! There is a definite connection between people who adore locating and taking pictures of their birds.
One of the loveliest in Britain is the tiny kingfisher, A bird with bright blue plumage, easily spotted near the networks of canals which run throughout the country. I’ve always thought it would be nice to live on one. There are those who do, and their “homes” are kitted out for warmth in the winter, with all the conveniences but on a much smaller scale of course.
Imagine what you could see cruising at slow speed up or down the canals there, which always run through some of the most beautiful countryside you can imagine…sitting atop with a cup of tea and your camera. I can’t think of anything more delightful myself😊
You’ve truly been blessed in where you’ve lived and traveled. Sounds lovely indeed, very cozy and adventuresome all at the same time! Not much can beat a camera AND a cup of tea at the same time! (Am right now drinking Yorkshire.) AND good countryside besides … with plenty of charming Bed and Breakfast inns nearby methinks (all serving bacon and mushrooms …). 🙂
That said, I’d be more likely to be walking alongside the canal rather than in the boat, because aboard ship I’d always be wanting the boat to stop so I could get the proper angle for photos! And depending how close your boat is to shore, I’d be the one asking directions because I’d gotten lost again from just walking and clicking away at nature …
In any case, must fly from my branch now … can’t put off the rest of the day any more, but very nice chatting with you!
That’s the beauty of canal boats! You can stop wherever…get out, have a walk, enjoy the peace and beauty, then resume your travels. You would be your own master. Move from town to town, dock, shop for provisions, stay the night (or two or three or longer as the mood takes you… foot loose and fancy free.)
The canals are narrow. All you have to is stop, step out, and away you go!! A pub lunch somewhere (delicious!) would be a must have…
One Sunday we were in the English town of Nantwich for an antique fair, and we strolled by some canal boats, which I thought were for sale, as some did have “For Sale” signs on them.
And wanting to see what they looked like inside, I was peering in their windows….when my eyes fell upon a pajama-ed leg and a slippered foot belonging to a man who was sitting in a comfy chair with a cup of tea and his Sunday papers.
I realized in a split second that that boat at least was occupied. Thank goodness he didn’t see my nose practically pressed up against his window. I withdrew hurriedly I can tell you, and hightailed it into town. Nosy Nellie me!!
Adorable story. I see those canal boats in some of the British mystery shows and they look amazing.
They are, Mary. One of the best parts? No council (property) tax!!
Colkitto, I wonder if you’ve seen the many videos of people feeding those littles straight out of their hands. How they keep them still while their feathered friends sit there deciding what to eat is beyond amazing to me. What a joy for your neighbour to experience.
This little guy is amazing. Your composition and color are excellent! The color palatte is something out of an Impressionistic picture, while the dust of snow on the lower beak provide sudden detail. Are these early morning photographs?
Thank you very much, Mary Van Deusen! Actually, my last two photos were at the opposite end of the daylight spectrum: The Apple Orchard in Winter at Mapleside Farms was a sunset photo, and the Tufted Titmouse was a photo taken late afternoon just before the sun started to set.
A lifelong night owl, I’m more apt to be up and posting here on the Treehouse around midnight and forcing myself to get to bed, and if my work schedule and the weather permits, I try to get decent sunrise photos to post over on Gab.
Looking forward to seeing more posts of your adventures, at any time of the day they occur! 🙂
Then imagine me draped in camo sheets over a hat to keep the cloth out of my face, attempting to fool the birds that I was an innocuous statue. I videoed birds for one year right after I took early retirement. Rarely fooled them. They finally decided to just ignore me.
On one occasion I set up my camera on 3 giant upside down flower pots while I climbed a ladder. Hottest day I remember and I’d been stupid enough to buy a tin-roofed birdhouse. The poor wren babies were desperate for air. I stayed on top of the ladder for almost an hour before a baby came out to the porch and decided to make its first flight. Got to the top of the house AND MY BATTERY DIED!!!!!!!!!!
Baby Birds – Etude – Chopin – 1993
Lovely choice of music, Mary. Oh dear….dead battery. We call that “Sod’s Law”, a British axiom similar to “Murphy’s Law” here but a little more nuanced. What a shame.
When we were looking for a birdbath, I saw some I really liked but after almost “sending” the order, I suddenly realized it was metal, not good for our triple digit summer temperatures here…and quickly withdrew my finger from the button.
I’m reminded of the time I was shooting the producer of the video I made on John Cocke. I learned by experimenting and they let me hire a steadicam camera operator for the shoot. So I had her going up and down stairs and along corridors to make it worthwhile. She turned up not knowing the script because her brother was then dying in the hospital. I offered to cancel all but she wanted to stay busy, so she studied, shot, studied, shot. Unfortunately, while a BRILLIANT computer scientist, she was also a 20 take talent. So we did the stairs and walk over and over and over and over.
Suddenly I understood TV commercials where the famous talent pants over a few steps. And all this while she was being followed by numerous staff all carrying battery-powered equipment, which QUIT frequently and out of synch with one another all through every walk. Took FOREVER!
So I saved the day by using footage he’d shot for fun of her memorizing lines in front of window and pasting together her words into new sentences, cutting out parts of seconds to get the words to flow as normal conversation. She never knew the difference when she saw the final. Looked arty.
I let be that word “arty”… always have. It is truly amazing what can be done these days. I bet everyone dropped a bit of weight trying to get that done😉 A plus surely?
All problems have their positive sides. You just have to focus there instead of on the bad side. I turned all the mistakes into a blooper reel that showed at our anniversary event.
https://youtu.be/VaPvX2nZMEs
Oh Mary …that was so good!I really enjoyed it. I saw it was made in 1991, quickly realized that was 31 years ago… time gets away from us, does it not.
I had to laugh at getting the set just right. I saw myself in that part….😂
Boiled robin is NOT what you want for dinner. Smart reflex. I like the metal heater that I hold in the birdbath with a rock. Au naturale.
We are due single digit temps on Friday. I’ve just been outside mulling how I can provide fresh water for our feathered crew…wish we had a heated bath for them. There is a stream and a small pond within short flying distance from us, so I’m hoping that won’t be solid…
There’s a wide selection on amazon with the search terms “bird bath heater” under Garden & Outdoor. I tried a heated dish on tripod legs but the squirrels and raccoons kept knocking it over, so I’m going back to a separate plugged heater in a solid container.
Thank you. Separate would be best as we have squirrels which we feed, especially this one ear as neither oak produced acorns, the first time I’ve ever known an oak tree not to produce. Usually I am picking up scads of them after the squirrels have taken all they want. This year? Not a single one, and I find that disturbing.
And as ridiculous as this may sound, I am wondering with all the chem trails which have been almost permanent in our area if they are in any way responsible.
I’ll check on that heater👍
If I ever decide to post anywhere else on the internet, I might choose a Username like:
This song has it all, and more! If you weren’t already familiar with one of the greatest Chicago songs ever, some of you may recognize the bridge (2:50 min. mark) from the Intellectual Froglegs videos.
Joe-Dan has used this bit in his vid’s frequently. I suggest listening to this soothing ballad from the beginning to fully appreciate its climactic brilliance. “Searchin’ So Long”…
Peoria Jones: Chicago was remarkable for integrating horns into soft rock. A great band and soundtrack of my junior high and hig hschool years, at least when came to more mellow music.
A more joyful and reassuring devotional I cannot imagine, WP.
This is beautiful. I love that we are “kept by the Power of God” (emphasis mine – thinking of the Holy Spirit)
I keep seeing… and running into…
Psalm 93:1 (NIV) “The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.”
Then again in…
Psalm 104:5 (NIV) “He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.”
I pick up my Bible to study. It is thousands of 30 year-old, dog-eared pages… the gold leaf worn off from rubbing. In my prayer time on 4 different occasions over these last two weeks, I’ve opened straight away to this verse Psalm 93… without flipping pages or hunting for it. Just opened it and this verse is standing there.
He’s telling us something. I am driven by the Spirit and frankly my LOVE and AWE of GOD to share it with you.
Whom shall we fear when we are God’s very own?
The only thing we should fear is the loss of Christ, who loves us all, JWoo. What a lovely post.🙏💕
Two more . . .
WOW . . .
That Five and Dime’s a sweet song from Nanci, thx for posting Garrison
It captures the essential sweetness of young love. It always reminds of my very first love affair at age 16. She was way ahead of me but treated me with great kindness. I never forgot that. And I always loved her for it.
you are a lucky man..
mine btch slapped me..
Texian, I’ve been fortunate that almost all the women in my life have been strong—able to bite 10 penny nails in two while simultaneously pulling me out of life’s bar ditches—and brave and loyal best friends.
The one I fell in love with and who was all of the above things—in addition to letting me stick around when she didn’t have to—was with me for 55 years.
What #1 taught me was how important it is to first be friends with women. If trust and loyalty can come first, lasting love can follow.
But. if I’m going to be brutally honest, in addition to all of the above I really think the women in my life all thought I was a lost puppy. 🙂
Good morning, Garrison🤗Emmylou and Willie…blue bonnets and Indian paints…the lyrics… their sweet communion in song…so good. And suddenly my eyes are leaking. Did not see that coming, my friend.
Gonna need a few less tears and a few more GIGGLES out of you, Betsy. I, too, spent 8 years in South Texas. My territory was 12 counties from San Antonio to Eagle Pass in a very male-dominated industry. I will always remember the starry nights, the warm air on my cheeks, the earthy smells, the swirling dirt, the pressed jeans, starched collars, the clickety clack of the cowboy boots, and the swagger of the cowboys. (Swoon)
I love Texas. I can’t listen to too much old country without missing her. My version of old is George Strait (Swoon). He sung my life.
😁!! Yes ma’am. Texas gets into your blood all right. I always think of the old saw.”I wasn’t born here, but I got here as fast as I could”.
Thinking of Frank and Grandpa M with that one…one from up north and the other from far away (the old country).💕
And from the other side of the pond, here is one to really lift all hearts! If the Spirit of Christmas hasn’t yet grabbed hold, this should do it!🌲
Wow, another treasure!
All courtesy of the most remarkable Sirius XM channel we get on our table top radio and also through streaming on our television (subscription required but so worth it for us) called “Holiday Pops”. A worse name for a channel I can’t think of. But it plays nonstop Christmas music like the two I posted today from the day after Halloween through Christmas. Including so much sung by the Robert Shaw Chorale, the Cambridge Singers, and many more from chorale groups in Britain. We listen to nothing else for that period, patty. From Palestrina to Bach to these little known gems, it really is a remarkable channel.
I know the term well. I got there as fast as I could. My intro to Texas was dating a young gentleman I met in San Diego as he worked in the Captain’s office of a rather remarkable aircraft carrier. (Top Gun) He had a deep root in Texas, as his father was a formidable law enforcement official and his family with a long, long history including a folksy, red dirt, ghost town from the 1850’s and a beloved children’s novel “Old Yeller” as family heirlooms.
That gentleman leaned into me and said “Joanie, Texas would love you.”
Just hearing him speak my name in his Southern drawl… along with an invitation from a childhood friend already in San Antonio with a roommate on her way to Austin… began my journey to Texas and the next 8 years of a truly idyllic life. You can take the girl out of Texas, but you’ll never take Texas out of the girl.
Texas took the shy downcast girl and turned me into a formidable woman. I found the Lord there, too. Of course, I did. Texas loved me. I love her right back and miss her tremendously.
Sometimes you get Texas but, then, sometimes Texas gets you. Which is why I live where I live. . . 🙂
Just saw your response. See mine to Betsy above. Texas will never be out of my blood.
We complain about Californians who abandon California due to the politics and go off to other places injecting their brand of liberalism elsewhere. (I did my time in CA, too… a penance to a joke I had with the Lord that “I would never go back”… until He Said “Ooooohhh, you’re going back!)
Maybe in this case I am one of those who gleans the best from my locale and carries it with me to plant and reap in other distant lands? “This ain’t no hill for a stepper.”
Forgive me, Garrison, if I don’t see responses. I am often on my phone and it doesn’t have the option to turn the little alarm bell on to see replies via email. When on desktop, which is what I prefer because I type faster… I too often forget to turn that alarm bell on. I apologize for all the one-sided dialogues.
Too many conversations are fractured in pieces. I could pull up a rocking chair and sit with you, Betsy, Rah, Jay, the Retired Magistrate, Nimrod, Sundance and his team for daaaays.
Maybe in my Heaven… we will all commune. I would love to host you all for dinner. I do cook well and for an army. We alas are an army of two! But we are formidable!
Mornin’ Bet. There version was exceptional. I instantly recognized the time and place and the people from my time in Houston in the 60’s. Texas culture has been forged by people like that.
And it is a culture which is particular to Texas and nowhere else. Entirely our own. Agree.
Disclaimer: Politics alert … Am posting here rather than the Presidential Thread since these are links to three songs. Anyone who wants to keep it light may want to scroll on by.

Brothers and sisters please be vigilant during the holiday season, when demonic activity increases in response to our celebrating the birth of Our Savior.
I feel this will be a particularly active season.
I know you are right, emet. I see the Christ “x” cancelations everywhere. Makes me more intent to say “Merry Christmas”. There are many who cower in fear and need someone to stand, so that they too may stand in solidarity.
May we all be bold in our mission.
I have looked and looked for a link to the Norman Ludoff Choir’s version of Angels We Have Heard of High. The only link I could find was from an old KFC ad. The song is great but the ad… If you choose to watch it you will see chicken being breaded and fried and deliciously displayed. Left me wanting fried chicken which is not quite the intent of the song.
In memory of my Dad…
Thx… I have 2-3 GM on my playlist.. takes me back to 40’s listening to radio.. also have LP and KS..great memories 👍

I’m glad you liked them. Music has a way of triggering long lost memories, bringing them to the surface to be enjoyed again.

Lone Dog
Poem
I’m a lean dog, a keen dog, a wild dog, and lone;
I’m a rough dog, a tough dog, hunting on my own;
I’m a bad dog, a mad dog, teasing silly sheep;
I love to sit and bay the moon, to keep fat souls from sleep.
I’ll never be a lap dog, licking dirty feet,
A sleek dog, a meek dog, cringing for my meat,
Not for me the fireside, the well-filled plate,
But shut door, and sharp stone, and cuff and kick, and hate.
Not for me the other dogs, running by my side,
Some have run a short while, but none of them would bide.
O mine is still the lone trail, the hard trail, the best,
Wide wind, and wild stars, and hunger of the quest!
Two Little Kittens
(written around 1879)
Two little kittens, one stormy night,
Began to quarrel, and then to fight;
One had a mouse, the other had none,
And that’s the way the quarrel begun.
“I’ll have that mouse,” said the biggest cat;
“You’ll have that mouse? We’ll see about that!”
“I will have that mouse,” said the eldest son;
You shan’t have the mouse,” said the little one.
I told you before ’twas a stormy night
When these two little kittens began to fight;
The old woman seized her sweeping broom,
And swept the two kittens right out to the room.
The ground was all covered with frost and snow,
And the two little kittens had nowhere to go;
So they laid them down on the mat at the door,
While the old woman finished sweeping the floor.
Then they crept in, as quiet as mice,
All wet with snow, and cold as ice,
For they found it was better, that stormy night,
To lie down and sleep than to quarrel and fight.

Redemption— Creating the Need it Satisfies
The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him… —1 Corinthians 2:14
The gospel of God creates the sense of need for the gospel. Is the gospel hidden to those who are servants already? No, Paul said, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe…” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). The majority of people think of themselves as being completely moral, and have no sense of need for the gospel. It is God who creates this sense of need in a human being, but that person remains totally unaware of his need until God makes Himself evident. Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you…” (Matthew 7:7). But God cannot give until a man asks. It is not that He wants to withhold something from us, but that is the plan He has established for the way of redemption. Through our asking, God puts His process in motion, creating something in us that was nonexistent until we asked. The inner reality of redemption is that it creates all the time. And as redemption creates the life of God in us, it also creates the things which belong to that life. The only thing that can possibly satisfy the need is what created the need. This is the meaning of redemption— it creates and it satisfies.
Jesus said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself” (John 12:32). When we preach our own experiences, people may be interested, but it awakens no real sense of need. But once Jesus Christ is “lifted up,” the Spirit of God creates an awareness of the need for Him. The creative power of the redemption of God works in the souls of men only through the preaching of the gospel. It is never the sharing of personal experiences that saves people, but the truth of redemption. “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
The great word of Jesus to His disciples is Abandon. When God has brought us into the relationship of disciples, we have to venture on His word; trust entirely to Him and watch that when He brings us to the venture, we take it.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
One thing I’ve prayed for for all my grands….and often.🙏
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

MORNING
Quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Psa. 80:18
It is the Spirit that quickeneth. John 6:63
The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Rom. 8:26, 27
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance. Eph. 6:18
I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. Psa. 119:93
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63
The letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. II Cor. 3:6
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7
This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. I John 5:14
No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. I Cor. 12:3
EVENING
Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Eph. 5:11
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. I Cor. 15:33
Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump! Purge out therefore the old leaven. I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators. Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. I Cor. 5:6, 7, 9-11
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Phil. 2:15
In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. II Tim. 2:20

This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true. Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that could be written. – John 21:24-25
Every journey Jesus made was for a reason. Each lame person made to walk, the blind who regained sight, and the leper who was healed was accomplishing God’s purpose. Christ performed many, very many, miracles so that there were multitudes of witnesses to verify the truth of them. Jesus spoke no idle words… everything He said would have been of note and worthy of contemplation.
John, as a disciple of Christ, recorded a sufficient amount to reveal what you need to know about God the Father, God the Son, the Savior, and God the Holy Spirit. The Gospel message presented by the apostles can be understood by a young child to “make them wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus“ (2 Timothy 3:15), and yet scholars still search His Word to learn more. The Bible is a relatively small book, not for lack of material but, perhaps, because the divine Author chose not to give human beings more than they need to cultivate faith in Him.
Take time to prayerfully search the Scriptures and meditate on the rich messages contained in God’s Word. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to deepen your understanding of His truth. Then pray for others that they may learn of the Savior during this Christmas season. May they realize the depth of God’s love for them, and believe.

Today is BEETHOVEN’S Baptismal anniversary in 1770. Exactly when he was born has been lost.
In his honor, one of his greatest works, a work which is the epitome of Beethoven’s style: powerful, tender, melancholy, mysterious, joyous, and furious!
If you do not have time for the entire work, find time! 😉
Failing that, listen at least to the last movement (26:11 mark) which will wake you up or energize you for great things!
This performance from 1951 with Arturo Toscanini conducting is a barn-burner!
Am way behind on my day (and on Christmas shopping!) so I’m coming in at the 26:11 mark for right now. (Feel like I’m saluting Schroeder as well as Beethoven.) 🙂
Wonderful, Ausonius!! He really was a conductor who felt the music right down to his soul.
May I add my favourite Beethoven orchestral work, the preamble, if you will, to his Ninth?
Martha Argerich is the pianist. His Choral Fantasy…
It’s a beautiful song in one of the best Scot’s history movies of all time, Kidnapped.
The end title song ” For All My Days” composed by Roy Budd, Lyrics by Jack Fishman and Vocal by Mary Hopkin from ” Kidnapped” (1971) starring Michael Caine.
This is the opening scene to the excellent movie “Kidnapped” where you will get a little history lesson about the battle of Culloden, which was the Gaelic Scots Highlanders last stand before their culture, customs, and peoples were more or less stamped out. It has been made more known since the Outlander series came out. It has been said that Gaelic is the language of Eden.
Kidnapped (1971) Opening with music by Roy Budd
Wonderful!! I remember this movie, with the stellar cast of actors whose likes we will not see again.
And what a bloody battle it was, the history of it remaining in the memories of most Scots.
One referendum to achieve Scottish independence from the UK failed a couple of years ago. But this hasn’t deterred those who are still pushing for another go. According to a couple of polls (for whatever they are worth) fewer Scots say they want independence. The WEF UK PM plant Sunak has put paid to another referendum in the near future.
I loved Scotland and its wildness, Colkitto. In fact when I moved to the UK, we discussed living there, eventually settling in Wales. No regrets about that. Nevertheless, I am very drawn to the Highlands. Thank you for posting this link which reminded me how much.
I too am very drawn to the Highlands. PDJT built a golf course called “Turnberry” which was the home of Robert The Bruce and his son David II. That means to me that PDJT is very aware of his Scots roots.
I adore the bagpipes. So glad it brought some good memories/thoughts to you. My salutations
Oh he most definitely is that! His mother adored the Queen, so I am particularly glad he was able to enjoy a State Visit with her while she was alive.
I keep two treasured photos of him with her on that visit. In both the Queen is smiling broadly, as I’ve never seen her smile with any other Head of State…and believe me I’ve seen a few. She always is smiling…but in these her whole face radiates as they are in conversation.
In one, President Trump is genuinely laughing so hard at something she said. That one is my favourite. I suspect with his mother being a Scot, they had many, many stories to share. I am so so sorry he was unable to attend her funeral.
He would have done this country proud…unlike…well…you know…
A relative just sent me a video about Scotland and England and the EU, noting that the majority of Scots favor independence from England, and also did not favor Brexit.
The main thought was that if Scotland separates, Scotland takes oil revenues and a major submarine base with them.
Would Scotland then align with Ireland and completely re-align England? The EU has squashed discussion for now. But it was an interesting video
The FBI is a renegade, out of control, criminal organization no different than the Mafia, except it has more power.
Remember that commercial about how the Army gets more things done than you do before 9:00 AM?
Before 9:00 AM, Your average FBI Agent gets up, suborns perjury, alters official documents (302’s), destroys evidence under subpoena, withholds exculpatory evidence, hides Brady Material, lies under oath to the court, lies under oath to Congress, ignores the 4th amendment and supplies ex nihilo, out of whole cloth, phony evidence then initiates with no predicate, investigations into perceived enemies of the D 卐 M ☭ CRAT party, conduct pre-dawn raids on “dangerous” septuagenarians, illegally leaks classified material to sympathetic press pack dogs who work in support of the D 卐 M ☭ CRAT Imperium, slow rolls subpoenas for FOIA information and lies about the need to classify ever more evidence that the American public should be able to see and again, that is before 9 o’clock.
Again, the FBI initiates investigations which are disguised in order to entrap innocent, down and out Americans (See Gretchen Whitmer) in order to further their political goals. They entrap innocent Americans as they did on Jan. 6th (Hundreds of FBI Agents were there, encouraging grocery boys and grandmothers into the building so the Department of “Justice” could imprison them with no Habeas Corpus and no hopes for a fair trial in an enemy city, in enemy territory, filled with enemies who want us dead.), again, withhold exculpatory evidence (14,000 hours of video which would show very little criminal intent, but would reveal the faces of hundreds of agents/provocateurs.) They ARE, absolutely, the American Gestapo.
Comey, Wray, Stroch, etc., the entire 7th floor of the FBI over the last 10 years, should be indicted, prosecuted, convicted and incarcerated for the betrayal of trust, treason and the ongoing, RICO like, thug transnational gang operations they have initiated with Mens rae, premeditated criminal intent.
Tear the FBI building down and sow salt in the earth where it once stood.
There are no better angels on the shoulders of the Fascists in the Deep State.
The Federal Government, soup to nuts is now captured and no more than an enforcement arm of the DNC.
Tear it out root and branch and administer the much needed correction (Including the executions of traitors.) appropriate to all parties concerned.
There is not a word or syllable of what you wrote about so passionately, Chuck, which I can disagree with. A more odious, amoral, despotic organization (with the force of law behind it) I cannot think of.
Excellent comment.

As reported at:
Corporate coalition pushes government to create digital ID infrastructure (reclaimthenet.org)
“A group of private companies have published a digital ID blueprint encouraging state governments to implement policies involved in creating a digital ID system. The blueprint was published by the Better Identity Coalition, a group of 27 US companies, including Mastercard, Equifax, AT&T, and more. The group either wants to stop the worry about ID fraud or to profit from preventing ID fraud by pushing to normalize digital IDs.”
Why do these same people oppose voter IDs?
I wonder what this fellow thinks about this…
