Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” (Revelation 2:17)
“I bear testimony that there is no joy to be found in all this world like that of sweet communion with Christ. I would barter all else there is of heaven for that. Indeed, that is heaven. As for the hearts of gold and the streets like clear glass and the songs of seraphs and the shouts of the redeemed, one could very well give these up, counting them as a drop in a bucket, if we might live in fellowship and communion with Jesus.”
~Charles Spurgeon~
Thank you, Dan. To start the week with Dr Spurgeon is a sure sign all will be well.
DD, Spurgeon is a favorite – his messages never grow old!
Love this one, especially as reminder there are only two kinds of people in the world: saved or lost; condemned or forgiven!
Thanks be to God for giving His Son.

Morning, Mr jay. Make do with what’s available. I bet the views are spectacular🤗
Imagining a small creek just down the hill from the path where the bench is. 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
A lovely place is the imagination…and I am seeing it, just like you, my friend.💕
Make do with what’s available.
Betsy, I heard my dear grandmothers say this frequently: we need to make do.
As they lived during WW1, WW2 and the Great Depression, that was how they survived.
Many years ago, I wanted to get my GM a Christmas gift, and quizzed her on what she wanted.
She told me she didn’t need anything.
I pressed on: How about a new black purse?
She responded: I have a black purse.
The truth be known – her black purse was fifty years old?
But that was her mindset. I miss her generation as they taught me so much about life and what’s important.
The depression was a terrible education for a whole generation. Your grandmother’s generation having suffered greatly knew how to appreciate even the smallest blessings and understood the value of recognizing what was needed and what was not. Make do and mend was their motto, and it’s a darn good one. Would that more adopt it these days, as I suspect times now and upcoming will teach people what your grandmother learned.
Her attitude then is mine now. A wise woman was your grandmother. I miss that generation as well, Della.💕
Such a sweet, truthful reply, Betsy… Thank you💕
You were much blessed with her. I suspect that wasn’t the only thing you learned from her. I suspect you ARE her, Della😘
Betsy, you waaay too kind. Could never measure up.
My one aim in life, though, is that my faith in the Lord Jesus would be as strong as hers – like a rock.
I will join you in that goal.🙏 Its all that matters.

Thank you, Frank..

I thought of those Belarusian fishermen when I saw the glutton cat.
Unconventional breakfast this morning. I have had a hunger for Braunschweiger. So I picked some up at the store the other day. This morning my breakfast is a Braunschweiger sandwich with yellow mustard and iceberg lettuce.
While I was cutting the Braunschweiger Gabby the cat was at my feet letting me know she wanted some. She loves the stuff and she got some.
Potatoes, onions and Braunschweiger fried in bacon grease a fam fav for generations. Hint: fry sliced potatoes until almost done, add onions then the Braunschweiger in chunks.
Don’t forget the pickle chips
scrapple here with an egg on top
And after dinner, he’s expecting a show. Here it is!

I have seen these…they are amazing!!😍
Got several of those so I definitely know what he’s talkin’ about . . . 🙂
One more . . .
2001 Ranger pickup. My wife’s truck. 149k miles, doesn’t use any oil, starts every time, air blows cold. A whole collection of 20 year old JC Penny’s blue denim work shirts. Well worn, well faded, just right for me. Wear ’em all the time. 40 year old Craftsman hand tools. Sturdy, reliable, always fit for purpose. Stuff that works.
We have a truck that starts almost every time. If it does not start, you have to just wait a few minutes and then it will start. It is a mystery.
Your truck is like the cat that will come in the house . . . but only on his own terms and when he’s good and damn ready. 🙂
linda, my 1997 Dodge Ram will start every time when cold, after it’s well warmed up it’s a different story. Sometimes it will start and a lot of times it will not. Sometimes I can talk it into starting and sometimes I can’t. Methinks it’s a sensor issue but haven’t had the time to take it to my mechanic friend. When I drive it to the gas station I just don’t turn it off. 😆
Exactly. Our truck will run fine and as soon as you start to trust it again, it will not start, even with a jump. It does not matter if it is cold or has been running. I was once picking up some hay bales at the feed store and it would not start when I went to leave, right in front of the bales.
Every mechanic who worked there was looking at it and jiggling the wires. After 15 minutes or so, they were finally going to push it out of the way and I tried it one last time. It started.
One guy said something about a “locking: mechanism on the ignition, but it always works perfectly when we take it to the garage.
LOL! A couple of weeks ago I had to charge the battery cause the truck had sat for a while. Was too lazy to pull it out so I just disconnected the cables. Found out that the negative cable came off very easy. Used a long extension cord and hooked up the charger. The next day I reconnected the battery and tightened the cables real good. The truck started like a champ all day long. As soon as I told my bride I thought I fixed the problem it was back to it’s old tricks again. 🙂
Inscrutable!
Hi bro😁
Hi Frank!
Those were the days…
My Kenmore fridge is still running strong…since 1994.
Reminds me . . . of me . . . 🙂
😁
Good morning, Garrison…that was the song that caught my attention. The “new and improved” will never beat the “old, tried, tested, and still working just fine”😉
😁…yes indeed…how right you are, Flyover.
Mornin’ Bet. You can say something similar about you’s truly and my rusty collection of old friends . . . 🙂
😁…we only get better with age, like fine wines
Good morning Bet, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. ❤️😂😘
Morning (just), G😘 Yes! Never change it. It’s a good ‘un.😁
🙂
Yes, except a small variation for me!
old, STILL BEING tried, STILL BEING tested, tired and still working just fine…😂
I’m with you Garrison… 16 years ago I traded my 32 year old car in on a new one (which I still have). I was finally forced to abandon Windows 3.1 (hahaha) but it WAS virus proof… no one wrote viruses for it. Oh and my newest car is 14 years old with 165,000 miles on it. Still runs great.
Guy Clark was right. There are some videos of him in his basement shop. It was a perfect workspace. 🙂
Love old things that still work!
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve complained about my new “digital” washing machine, I’d be rich.
This machine tells ME what to do, instead of me telling it. It barely fills up with water, and has no agitator like my old one. I believed the salesman that the new version would be grand, to my dismay. Digital, and new, improved model is not always better!
My view is that the more buttons on an appliance, the more there is to go wrong.
We replaced a stove a couple of years ago. There were some that had so many buttons and digitized this and that…and a price to go with them. We settled for one that had off/on/clock/temperature/bake/broil. It’s plain looking, not fancy, but it gets the only jobs I need doing done. I couldn’t be happier!
The simpler, the better – that’s the best kind!
Oh yes ma’am!!!
Howdy Garrison!
Hi,ya Gramps! 🙂
Dawn’s Early Light — An Orange December Sunrise. Photo taken by me this past Friday from out my window in Northeast Ohio. I try to get good dawn shots every day for the Good Morning Brigade over on Gab. Wishing all Treepers here a wonderful start to the week!
Beautiful 😊
Thank you very much, RyderLee! 🙂
You are Welcome , Phoenix 😍 and Thank You for Sharing Your Wonderful Photo 😊
Picture, like a magazine.
And here are nice pictures, against the background of the song “Hallelujah” performed by the choir of the orphanage at the Pokrovsky monastery.
Majestic indeed, actually! 🙂
Yes, and the voices of the special souls of the children of the orphanage make the combination with the pictures complete…
And you live in a nice place, obviously. I live in a concrete city, but luckily – on its edge and right next to a former botanical garden, to which I have a view from my window. Not bad, I’m not complaining.:)
here is a fun factoid…

To see the sun rise in the Pacific and set in the Atlantic you must go to Panama.
Source: Ripley’s Believe It or Not
There was an old horse trail near where I had my pony–a very dumpy type stables…at the top of the hill, if you turned left, you could see the Pacific Ocean and if you turned to the right, you could see the Atlantic Ocean…wish I had a camera back then…
Now that’s pretty cool, Aggiegirl! 🙂
What an idyllic description, Aggiegirl. And what a great memory to carry around. And here was probably an equally great story behind those stables. 🙂
Breathtaking, phoenix!! There is so much hope in this photo.

Oh patty!! You’ve found my favourite performance of Go Tell it on the Mountain!
I adore The Cambridge Singers, and this one takes me back to the home of my heart, bless-ed Wales at Christmastime. I get weepy thinking about it. Thank you.
I posted this yesterday, but it is so beautiful for Christmas, for those who missed it, I am leaving it here again. Truly wonderful!
I’m so glad I posted your favorite version. My favorites were the Cambridge Singers, Bruce Mitchell and, of course, Robert Shaw Chorale group for Christmas carols. When I hear them they bring back wonderful memories and are very uplifting.
Robert Shaw?? NOW you’re talking, girl!!! My favourite group as well.
Even after all these years, I can tell when they’re singing. Perfection.
If you want a good cry, listen to this… Its an old recording, and difficult to hear, but it is the finest My Country Tis of Thee I’ve ever heard. Given what has happened to us, I cry buckets every single time, especially the last verse…
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/america-my-country-tis-of-thee-robert-shaw-choraleavi–83316661836863152/
That was truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Golly I wish we could go back to the those times. The young folks now have no idea how life once was and the enormity of what we have lost in the US.
No they don’t. And I wish we could as well. There were terrible troubles, but the America of Norman Rockwell was alive and thriving. Of families of all colours, of safety, of full churches, of patriotism…all gone now…
When I first heard this version I burst into tears, remembering…and hoping we could reclaim such a time. We are going in the wrong direction.
So until such time, please God, we live with our precious memories which are priceless…and keep praying.
Bet, this is my favorite performance. When I was in college a friend of mine had a vinyl of the Golden Gate Quartet we’d play it over and over, and over. Another one on that album was Joshua Fit the Battle of Jerico.
I have that album, G!! Though it is a CD I bought when living across the pond. The most beautiful voices, in perfect concert one with one another, one not out-singing the other.
Thank you for the link. Wonderful!!😘
Amen. Go tell! 🤟✝️🤟

Your Tax Dollars At Work | Real Climate Science
“A genuine expert can always foretell a thing that is 500 years away easier than he can a thing that’s only 500 seconds off.”
– Mark Twain
The Special Presidential Envoy for Climate also disagrees with some details of climate science.
https://tass.com/politics/1538527
“Russia has a number of comments on the draft final document of the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Ruslan Edelgeriyev, who heads Russia’s delegation to the event, told.
[…]First of all, the changes to the text of the Paris Agreement are discouraging, as the changes were neither discussed nor agreed to by anyone. For example, 2050 as a universal deadline for achieving carbon neutrality, the need to peak emissions by 2030, and the use of certain energy sources are being actively imposed.
Russia is interested in fighting against climate change but it’s important to develop joint actions in a transparent manner so that it’s not the result of backroom games,” the Russian delegation’s head noted.”
The only reason Russia is interested in “fighting climate change” is because it weakens the west. The Soviet Union and still Russia today are terrible polluters doing stuff industry here wouldn’t have even thought of trying to get away with 20 years ago!
It’s clear, Russia is polluting. (But I’m not convinced that the “collective West” is a proponent of Ecology, I don’t know.:))
The question is what Russia is doing and planning on “climate change issues”: is it introducing the ESG? Green economy and standardization? Carbon units and trade with them? Climate monitoring systems? Will there be personal carbon credits? Is it involved in international agreements? Etc. What do you think?
And based on the answer – why is it doing it; is it fighting the West; or is it something else? I don’t know. (I don’t know exactly what the purpose of the “climate change deal and fight” is, although I have one or two ideas.)
“Climate Change” is a socially constructed virtue signal. The dogma has more to do with the social status anxieties of activists than it does with actual real world solutions. Advocating behavioral change as a way of “solving climate change problems” is a fool’s errand.
Historically, humans have addressed emerging problems by developing new technologies to deal with them. Effecting meaningful change through controlling behavior never works.
Climate change “activists” are people who live in coastal cities, don’t use tools, don’t know how to shoot and—if they actually own a car—they can’t parallel park, or change their own tires. Basically, we can define them as a demographic of idiots. 🙂

Personality
…that they may be one just as We are one… —John 17:22
Personality is the unique, limitless part of our life that makes us distinct from everyone else. It is too vast for us even to comprehend. An island in the sea may be just the top of a large mountain, and our personality is like that island. We don’t know the great depths of our being, therefore we cannot measure ourselves. We start out thinking we can, but soon realize that there is really only one Being who fully understands us, and that is our Creator.
Personality is the characteristic mark of the inner, spiritual man, just as individuality is the characteristic of the outer, natural man. Our Lord can never be described in terms of individuality and independence, but only in terms of His total Person— “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). Personality merges, and you only reach your true identity once you are merged with another person. When love or the Spirit of God come upon a person, he is transformed. He will then no longer insist on maintaining his individuality. Our Lord never referred to a person’s individuality or his isolated position, but spoke in terms of the total person— “…that they may be one just as We are one….” Once your rights to yourself are surrendered to God, your true personal nature begins responding to God immediately. Jesus Christ brings freedom to your total person, and even your individuality is transformed. The transformation is brought about by love— personal devotion to Jesus. Love is the overflowing result of one person in true fellowship with another.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
There is no allowance whatever in the New Testament for the man who says he is saved by grace but who does not produce the graceful goods. Jesus Christ by His Redemption can make our actual life in keeping with our religious profession.

A question!
It has been a wonder to me how so many people that are skeptical about just about everything this government has done or is doing, seem to show absolutely no skepticism of what this government’s motivations are for their actions concerning Ukraine?
I do wonder how some people that are so skeptical of the actions of this government concerning COVID, Russian Collusion, election meddling, Energy Policy, Climate Change, data tampering for desired results in temperature readings and SLR, and a lot more, show no skepticism at all about our government’s actions in Ukraine.
How they believe a government which is constantly going after our liberties at home are doing what they do to support the fight for liberty of other people?
It has been very elucidating.
Yeah! Coming from the outright cynical perspective, it makes one wonder how everyone can’t see the culmination of 30 years of Bushian war mongering in the name of democracy, ramrodded through by the state department, conducted mostly through secret agencies, funded by corrupt politicians scrabbling for their own cut and mingled with the Schwabian drive to cleanse the world from ‘unnecessary’ people.
I call it, as others have said, “the dumbing down of America “…all brought on by ..education system, news media, political system, extreme greed.. etc..etc..

Good morning Treepers!
Can’t tell you how much I appreciate this very special place.

Well it’s time to get cleaned up and get moving. Randy was third on the list and got the call. I am five and I have some things I want to get done before I get the call.
Make room for St Christopher in your cab, rah…be safe, be well.
I’m at Bell Tire. Getting four new Michelins put on my new/old Ram pickup.
Have to be 10 ply and I’m putting on the best rated tires for snow I have found.
Over $1,200 for the set with life of the tire road hazard.
Pricey… but worth it. Whatever keeps you safe on the roads, where its looking like this year will be particularly bad. Glad you’ve got that sorted, my friend.👍
It was over $1,300 because it needed alignment. But in the tire department I should be good to go for 40-50,000.
Why 10? Hauling heavy loads? 💪
Depends on what you do.
Various opinions at link below.
Here in CO, yes a lot of gravel roads and rock falls onto the roads that you may not see while driving.
For Rah’s location, I always had issues with people hauling wood losing a piece on the road & stuff they just bought from a home improvement center, altho I managed to avoid the washers, dryers and dishwashers.
I would stop & pickup the lumber and such.
10 ply will save you on roofing nail repairs, too thick to go all the way thru all 10 plys.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
Good morning, duchess. Amen to each one of those Scriptures, so beautifully posted.
Bet, our Sunday sermon was on perseverance through tribulation.
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Verse of the Day for Monday, December 12, 2022
✟
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
Even and especially when the answers may come in unexpected ways, as they so often do. He will always answer. Amen.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. – Matthew 2:10
As travelers far from home, looking for direction by scanning the night sky, and following only a promise that they would look upon the face of the one born King of the Jews, the Magi finally witnessed illumination in the place where the child would be found. And they experience divine joy! While the way of their journey was long, and at times treacherous, God led them to joy.
While circumstantial happiness in your life will come and go, the day God’s Holy Spirit came to reside in your heart, He also brought along great treasure He wants to share with you! While He despises sin and its effects upon humanity, He created life in gladness. It is for His deep pleasure that the Lord saves all those that look to Him for salvation.
Joy was the motivation for Christ to complete His work upon the cross. “Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross” (Hebrews 12:2). And His joy is the source of what will sustain you in labor and difficulties, “For the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). Ultimately, this joy is the reward awaiting all who follow Christ, “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:23).
Tap into the foretold delight of God’s Spirit at work in your life today. Like the Magi, follow Him into the divine unknown, clinging to His promises, and witness joy! Pray for Americans as they celebrate this Christmas season, not to miss the glorious miracle Christ’s birth brought to the world.
