Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Mom & Dads last kitty was a rescue calico named Mittens because she had the extra toe on each foot. She was a stray that showed up at the country home of one of my brothers and his wife. She fed her for a time and provided shelter and a safe space in their garage but she got to having too many strays to handle and so my parents, really my Mom, took her off their hands.
Mittens became an inside companion to my parents. They took her to Florida with them when they were snowbirds and Mittens really enjoyed the lanai and chasing the lizards. In fact they took her with them most of the time they traveled to somewhere else.
Like many cats which have had a rough time for a time, she eventually died of kidney failure. When Mom realized that Mittens condition was worsening she called me over to take pictures of the cat.
Yes, I admit it.
I am an Israeli Trump supporter and a friend. It has been a while since I posted here. I am dedicating the following song and prayer specially for all who had a hard time in the last couple of years and for everyone who is keeping hope and freedom alive. The singer is Hanan Ben Ari a religious man with a big heart:
I am a David, and my Grandson is a David. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
Thank you, David. Be well. And have our blessings, friend.
Good to see you!
Thank you!!!
Welcome back and blessings to you and yours!
Thank you!!!
Good morning, David. God be with you and bless-ed Israel during these perilous times. Than you for this song and prayer. We will keep you in our prayers , sir. 🙏
Thank you Betsy!!!
🤗🙏🌷
Shalom David, good to see you again here.
I appreciate it!!!
How thoughtful of you David, thank you for the song and prayer.
And may God bless you extraordinarily today and always.
Thank you. Yes I translated it myself for my Patriot friends only.
Hello and thank you❣️
May God Bless you, David and all His people.
That melody, words, vocal expression and filming; wow!
🙏🏻
melanc-holy.
Thank you. I actually translated it myself. Took me an hour but I see you all like it so it was worth it.
Good afternoon, David. Thank you for this beautiful song. Gods blessings on you and your household.
Thank you Marti!!!
Thank you. And may angels watch over you
Today, I was wished a “blessed Sunday” twice by complete strangers. Standing in line to pay for my breakfast tacos I was just talking to the woman who I’d let go in front of me. As she finished paying and was leaving she turned and wished me a blessed Sunday. I, of course, returned the good wish. Later at the post office another woman who I’d walked out with turned, smiled, and again wished me a blessed Sunday.
Of late this has been occurring more and more. I’m finding that people are more and more wishing Our Lord’s blessings on one another. You could argue that this is Texas and this is what people here do. While that’s undoubtedly true. But if you’re a believer there’s a deeper message in the good wishes. This is Our Lord’s work. I take it as a sign that he’s watching over us all. Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday, Treeper friends. And know that Our Lord is with us.
Good morning Garrison. Good story and observation there. As the big book suggests, the good Lord is always with us. All we have to do is notice. Have a blessed day, sir!
Bless-ed good morning, Levi💖. I am really feeling an inexplicable Presence here this morning. Is it just me? I hope not🙏
Good morning Betsy. I say go with your feelings. The presence is persistent, all we need do is recognize it. At the same time, a little decision announced the other day seems to have helped a lot of people to feel a presence. It certainly was a good day and a long overdue decision.
Good morning, Levi💖 Feeling the Love from Above. No explanation needed, my friend. It just is🤗
Hey, we have made this our church! 🙂
Oh bless, Garrison🙏😘 Yes. That’s exactly what I’m feeling. And it is so good, my friend. Thanks be to God Who has gathered us here.
Good afternoon, Betsy. I thank God everyday for our church here and for all the wonderful Christians coming here for fellowship with the Lord and with other Christians. We have a great group of Treepers that care about each other and offer whatever help and prayers that may be needed. God has richly blessed our church group.
Afternoon, Marti!🤗 I was just saying to my husband, in trying to say which thread I was on (normally calling the Open Thread, which it is, but that name is so flat and devoid of all the wealth of friends and prayers), when I refer to it, I shall call it The Church Thread. Because for me, that’s what it is. Blessings to you, girl🙏🌷
Peace, sister Betsy ❣️❣️❣️

Good morning, Patience💖 And to you. A perfect description…plus joy🙏
A good friend admitted that he was having trouble accepting Our Lord. He thought Acceptance as often described was too complex, to demanding. I explained that accepting Our Lord for me was very personal, just like talking to my dad. A few weeks later he called to tell me was praying “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep . . .”. I laughed and told him that’s all it takes. He was in the arms of Our Lord.
AWESOME!
So wonderful!! I do the same…every night🤗
You, too. 🙂
How wonderful, Garrison. Your experiences have lifted my heart. And you are oh so right. God is everywhere. The universe is full of Him. CS Lewis notes He, and no doubt His angels, travel incognito, and this I believe with all my whole soul. We are never ever without Him. In the big things, and as you say especially in the smaller ways which really are the most important. I’ll add my wishes that you have a Bless-ed Sunday, my friend.🙏
🙂
Indeed Betsy, we are never without him..
“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27
Praise the Lord!
Good morning, Bananas. I’m so thankful for the immense gift of everyone here. And for His presence in our company, which itself is a tremendous gift to feel.
I have spent too much time lately noticing the divide between people.
Yet, when I switch focus, I am experiencing their goodness.
Just a simple thing like letting a pleasant, but stressed, woman go ahead of me in line at the bank….
Wow! Her appreciation lit up her face. It made me smile.
Just the simple things…
Isn’t it amazing the fantastic power, Lorrie, of one small act of recognizing others and an act of kindness? It costs nothing. It enriches the one who gives it as it does the one who receives it. A simple statement to the other person which says, “I see you.” When we all feel as if we are just part of a faceless crowd, I can think of no other gift that can mean so much.
🙂
You are so right.
Last month at a pre- op doctor appointment there was a woman, probably in her late 70’s, standing alone with a walker; masked —of course (as was I 🥸) with a beautiful shirt- cut, white as snow, very full head of hair. As I passed her I smiled and exclaimed, “ What a beautiful head of hair!”. Her eyes expressed surprise and question.
About an hour later as I was leaving she was walking passed me and (me now maskless; 😁) again, said,
“ You have beautiful hair!”.
She stopped, lifted her right hand from her walker, touched the back of her hair and said, “Oh thank you!”.
-I could see her smile; even behind her mask.
Honest kindness; love from, through and by The Holy Spirit, exudes and spreads.
Have a beautiful day, Lorrie.
The gift of a smile is awesome. The gift of a genuine unexpected compliment…utterly priceless.

I have always loved acapella music…I am amazed at the gift of voice given by God to many
…how lucky they are, I always think.
God bless you Garrison Hall.
VOCES8 is my favourite a capella groups. Those voices!! Another which runs a close second for me is Prima Luce, a group from Australia.
Their Gaudete is wonderful.
Garrison, I do believe
– you are right on.
Happy day❣️

A comment from a Youtube listener . . .
My wonderful father is 96 and about to die from the effects of deep dementia. He and I have listened to this beautiful symphony many times both together and apart. I am listening today in my Dad’s honour and sending him my thoughts and appreciation of all that he taught me through my 73 years. I am one of the most fortunate men on this beautiful planet and echo the appreciation offered here to Beethoven by so many sensitive humans, who enjoy the work of a man who was, I believe, a genius. Vielen dank Ludwig 🙂
Ahhh, his Pastoral Symphony! And the Proms as the setting. Wonderful and peaceful. What a beautiful soul is the commenter who wrote about his father. Thank you for this particular performance, Garrison.
🙂
Garrison, prayers go up for your wife, your dad, and you.
Goodaye Bet, Levi, Cat and all of our friends here.
Got an just over an hour of my security duty and just checking in to say have a blessed Sunday!
Hi grandpa!!!!😘 🙋♀️ ❤️
Hi Cat! Have you run into any chipper material lately? 💜 😂
Happy Sunday and blessings to you GrandpaM! 🙂
And blessings to you, Casco!
G/M thanks but the comment isn’t mine, it was posted under the Beethoven sympony in the Youtube comments section.
I’m glad you are guarding your church.
Thank you for the explanation Garrison, that’s what I get for reading on my phone. 🙂
Stand tough and resolute, G🙏 It’s ugly out there and I think all get a lot more so. I’m so glad your church understands. Blessings to you, my dear friend😘
Blessings to you, Bet! All done and no problems. Didn’t expect any but a member of the congregation (a former LE) said to holler if I needed help. 💗
Sounds as if all y’all have it covered.👍
ALL WHO BELIEVE AND ARE BAPTIZED
“Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”
With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
— Acts 2:36-40
This is the last hymn of the service today at our local church.
Hope you Treepers all have a wonderful week!
Good morning, 1530💓. Just lovely and uplifting, as is right for the Lord’s day.

I sure miss Hawaii. Went there for over 30 years. Stayed mostly on the Big Island, Puna side.
IZ’s music reminds me of Uncle Roberts at the end of the road. That destination and all changed with the last lava flow and then covid restrictions.
Hawai’i 78 presents a different view, and contrary to that song I see the ali’i as embracing Christianity and wanting the people to “Imua”, not get stuck in sentimentality.
Good morning Magic. Good stuff. Thanks for the assist in building out one of my playlists. Skid Row added.

The Byrds‘ “Mr. Tambourine Man” reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Interestingly, the only member of the group to actually play on the record was Jim McGuinn on vocals and 12 string guitar. Studio musicians Leon Russell, Glen Campbell, Larry Knechtel and Hal Blaine recorded the other instruments, while The Byrds’ David Crosby and Gene Clark sang background vocals.

Elvis Presley played the final concert of his career at Market Square Arena, Indianapolis to a crowd of only half the venue’s capacity. The top price ticket for the evemt was just $15. Before the show, he was presented with a plaque commemorating the 2 billionth record to come out of RCA’s pressing plant. The last song the King ever performed publicly was “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.

We…plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. —2 Corinthians 6:1
The grace you had yesterday will not be sufficient for today. Grace is the overflowing favor of God, and you can always count on it being available to draw upon as needed. “…in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses”— that is where our patience is tested (2 Corinthians 6:4). Are you failing to rely on the grace of God there? Are you saying to yourself, “Oh well, I won’t count this time”? It is not a question of praying and asking God to help you— it is taking the grace of God now. We tend to make prayer the preparation for our service, yet it is never that in the Bible. Prayer is the practice of drawing on the grace of God. Don’t say, “I will endure this until I can get away and pray.” Pray now — draw on the grace of God in your moment of need. Prayer is the most normal and useful thing; it is not simply a reflex action of your devotion to God. We are very slow to learn to draw on God’s grace through prayer.
“…in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors…” (2 Corinthians 6:5)— in all these things, display in your life a drawing on the grace of God, which will show evidence to yourself and to others that you are a miracle of His. Draw on His grace now, not later. The primary word in the spiritual vocabulary is now. Let circumstances take you where they will, but keep drawing on the grace of God in whatever condition you may find yourself. One of the greatest proofs that you are drawing on the grace of God is that you can be totally humiliated before others without displaying even the slightest trace of anything but His grace.
“…having nothing….” Never hold anything in reserve. Pour yourself out, giving the best that you have, and always be poor. Never be diplomatic and careful with the treasure God gives you. “…and yet possessing all things”— this is poverty triumphant (2 Corinthians 6:10).

Happy Sunday, FC.
That’s the spot, right Between two of my favorite treepers…1530 and Levi, et al….and where’s grandpa? squeeze!!! 🙋♀️
Have a most blessed day ❤️
Squeeze! 😍
Good Sunday Morning FC. Love this one. Anything that speaks to God’s Grace has my attention because I believe it is with us 24×7 and, as stated above, I do try to draw upon it, always.
Here’s hoping your day is immersed in God’s grace.
Good morning, Cat💓 Wow indeed!! All of Chambers’ devotionals are extremely impactful. But this one? As you say, and I’ll repeat…Wow!!🙏
It is difficult to produce the amazing tenderness in today’s political and cultural climate. But it is not impossible.
Recently I had an opportunity to be tender, and I failed. I was so convicted of my error by my Father in heaven.
I must and WILL do better. Thanks for this post.
Hey bananas…. that’s what I love about our Lord…he always give us second chances. IF you’re sincerely trying! At Least,IMO ❤️
Spiritual do overs, Bananas. I have been there when I had the chance to act and I didn’t. To my eternal shame, I remember it to this day with so much regret (and it happened over 35 years ago).
But then I lived in a “house” I don’t live in any more. It nevertheless bothers me to this day. That single failure put me on a very different road by His Grace I feel, and I am grateful.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

Amen, juststevie, good to see you back. Been praying for your brother and you.
Good Sunday Morning Everyone. Let the reflection of yesterday and yesterweek begin. What was your biggest complaint? The car that was driving to slow in front of you? The checkout line that took too long? The truck that was parked over the line preventing you from pulling into a prime spot?
I always remind myself “if that’s the worst thing that happens to me today, how blessed am I?”
For each little peeve I may experience in a day I know there are ten times as many little blessings I WILL experience in the day. Each of us, if we take that personal inventory, will find the same. It’s good to have a loving God.
Have a most blessed day everyone!
Last week was a great week for me. Monday, felt a bit rough but I decided to head out to the woods to cut up a fallen tree in 100 degree heat. Around 3 pm, I felt a deep pain in my back that did not go away. I put up my chainsaw and parked the tractor in the shed. I then went to the house and told my wife we needed to go to the ER. I was having a heart attack. 24 hours later, I had had a stent put in a 90% blockage. It was already a big week and it was only Tuesday.
I met some really great people. The nurses were a joy and friendly. The doctors showed skill and confidence. The woman that came in every day to empty the garbage and mop the floor was kind and encouraging. Even the food service people seemed happy.
The only complaint was the darned masks. They are required and everyone wore them. I could only see the smiles in people’s eyes. That was a bit depressing. I only wore mine when they insisted like when they would move me from the room to a procedure room.
One of the nurses that had been with me all week rolled me to the curb to get in the car. We had a bit of a wait and we were talking. She was young and bubbling with enthusiasm for life and her job. She had this big infectious smile and I commented on her pretty smile and that I wish that it not been hidden all week. She smiled even bigger and said, “Me too, I hate these things.”
Why was a heart attack a great week? I realized that the hard work I was doing did not cause the attack. The blockage was there and probably had been a little time bomb waiting to go off for a long while. I travel for work and spend many days alone and in strange cities. There are a thousand different places where that little bomb could have gone off in which the end would have been much different. I was going to have a heart attack anyway. God saw to it that it happened in the best possible way.
Beautiful story VM. First things first, we’re all thrilled that it was found, fixed and that you are back at home and out of immediate danger.
What a week to reflect back upon.
Your situation reminds me of mine with cancer. Your life was in the hands of our medical team and the good Lord. I can imagine your feelings, in the end, are similar to mine. You were the focal point of human compassion. From the prayers of family, friends and strangers to the caring of your doctors, nurses, technicians and even volunteers. And that is a humbling but extraordinarily fulfilling experience.
The masks are a shame. There is a lot of energy to be drawn from smiles.
Yes sir, God saw to it, smiled down upon you and said your work here is not complete. So much to be thankful for. God bless you and yours. Beautiful story.
Yes indeed, Levi. One day for us all…but not now.💖 Thank Almighty God for your and VibeMan’s restored health. You are both needed here.
Amen.
As are you, Casco…don’t you dare go anywhere! Them’s orders!
Yessum ma’am… 🙂 🙂 🙂
Good!!!!!😘
What a great story V/M. I had a very similar experience with my own heart attack a few years ago so you’re preachin’ to the choir here. :-). Good on ‘ya, friend. And His Blessings on you too!
Wow, Vibeman, praying for your continued, rapid recovery, and for all the hospital staff you mentioned.
Thanks for being here.
I usually just sit on a branch and watch here in the Treehouse. Occasionally I throw in my two cents, but not often. I want to tell you how my life changed. Two weeks ago, my husband was driving home from his 2nd shift job late at night on a rural highway. He slowed and put on his left turn signal to turn. Inexplicably, the semi behind him crossed a solid yellow line to pass him. They met in the intersection; semi rolled left, my husbands car rolled right.
After being pried from the wreckage, he was loaded into an ambulance to go to the hospital, but went into cardiac arrest on the way. He was revived and redirected to a larger hospital. He has been on a ventilator since then. Thursday was our 38th wedding anniversary. No presents that day, but the next day my husband was awake enough to write, “Can you clean the goop out of my eyes?” Made me laugh. I cleaned his eyes, but I was reassured to know he was still “in there.” Later that day, vent was removed, replaced with bipap machine. Yes! Progress!
As high as the peaks are, the depths are equally as low, because just as they were about to remove the bipap and go to O2 through a cannula, he vomited into his mask, aspirated the contents and again, his heart slowed almost to a stop. Once again revived, vent is reinserted and now we are waiting to see the effects on his lungs of the vomitus aspiration. One comforting thought: he has gone into cardiac arrest twice—once in an ambulance surrounded by EMTs, once in a trauma center ICU. Instantly qualified people came to his aid.
What the future holds, I have no idea. Will he make a full recovery? Will I be a widow? Will life come down somewhere in between? Obviously we have grounds for a huge lawsuit, but who cares. My husband is benefitting from the huge amount of knowledge that was gained while this medical team treated COVID. Perhaps that will save his life/quality of life. Life is precious, and life is short. The only thing I’m absolutely sure of through this is that God is good. ALL THE TIME.
note: I did put this in the prayer request section, but wanted to share it here after reading Vibe’s story.
Praying for your husband and you Cavemom.May God see to his full recovery and prayers that his medical team can restore him to full health.Blessings be upon your family in this time of need.
Cavemom, God most assuredly is with him, as are we with our prayers. I am so truly sorry for you both. Thank goodness for his well trained and vigilant medical team, which I am certain will not leave one stone unturned for his complete recovery.
My prayers for him and you while you wait for the good news coming will be unceasing, as will all those prayers from friends here.
I am so glad you let us know on this thread of your worries. If you feel like it, please keep us up on his progress as he regains his strength. We are always here for support and those essential entreaties before Almighty God.🌷🙏
Cavemom, prayers up for your husband’s full recovery and for comfort and strength for you.
Praying for your husbands full recovery and for God to give you strength in this time of need.
And a blessed Sunday afternoon to you and yours Levi! 🙂
My teaching through Isaiah continues today. Chapter 55 is one of great hope and encouragement. Every sentence, every verse, is a deep well of God’s love for His people. These two verses are key:
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6-7
God is a God of judgement and a God of compassion. There is a time for judgement and in my human weakness I often desire righteous judgement for God’s enemies more than I desire God’s hand of grace. These verses remind me that there is hope in God even for the wicked and that I must accept that. I do not understand God’s compassion upon those who are his enemies. This is explained in the next two versus as God anticipated my thoughts:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
Pardoning the wicked is certainly a thought beyond what I usually think. Paul tells Timothy to pray for the enemies of God to have the wisdom that only God can give. It is that wisdom that will lead to the miraculous “forsaking of evil ways” that God seeks. The question for me is whether I desire a repentance from evil for those that oppose God as much or more than I desire their righteous judgement.
This should not be difficult for me. I was once God’s enemy before he extended his pardon even to me.
Amen,! Great words!
Pray He shows the evil and wicked the error of their ways. We can’t change our enemies whose hearts are stony cold and will not be moved. But God’s power is supremely mighty to work contrition in those hearts. We can only petition Him that He deliver that miracle.
Just a few days ago we were all so concerned for your sudden ill health. And here you are conducting this week’s Bible study. Prayers are answered, just as He answered ours for you.
Godspeed with your wonderful lesson today, VM.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

BREAKING: The Pentagon has stated that any abortion laws enacted as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision will not be recognized.
BNN Newsroom (@BNNBreaking) / Twitter
WHOA!!!!!!!!! The last thread of our carefully woven Republic is finally shredded. Uncharted waters. Disturbing.
What this has to do with the Pentagon is beyond me. It’s the subtext which disturbs me, which is “We do not recognize the Supreme Court’s legitimacy, nor any court at whatever level,
as part of the third branch of government. And therefore the Pentagon will decide the laws which suit our purposes, and will ignore those which we do not.”
A rogue Pentagon. Frightening. Astounding.
Looks like time coming for that boomerang and tomahawk…..
Good Morning Betsy ❤️
Oooooo girl!!! Sharpening now.
Pretty clear that the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch and all that fall beneath the two have declared their independence from Judicial Branch rulings.
Worse, there is nothing the Judicial Branch can do about it. Can you say “government overthrown?”
I can say it…and have. When the DOJ says what the Pentagon has…and I think it’s just a matter of time…the mask they’ve all worn will have been totally removed and discarded.
Just because I’ve always liked this song… even though it wasn’t overwhelmingly popular. But it did get some play on the radio back in “the day”

Good Morning ma Idaho?
How’s those spuds? 😝
image of head scratching
spuds?
we did our usual Sunday morning breakfast at Denny’s. They have a great ‘make your own’ omelet that we split. onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and bacon. (other choices available) Served with an English muffin and hash browns. Perfect to be split by two old fogeys with small appetites.
then a trip to Smiths (Kroger, I know). We are limited in how much we can buy because of limited space. I always wonder (when we get home) if I will be able to fit the frozen tings in the freezer and the ‘keep cold’ stuff in the fridge. Yay – I did it.
Then there is other ‘stuff’ (soap, snacks) that has to go ‘somewhere’. And when I put it ‘somewhere’ I have to be able to find it if we need it or want to use it – assuming I don’t forget that I bought ‘it’. Found some really good looking banana nut bread slices – drooling.
The sky is a blue that only clean air at higher altitude (4500 ft) can be. Morning temps start cool and warm rapidly. Expecting 90 ish today. Having lived ‘back East’, I have to tell you that one of the more delicious parts of living here is that the temps cool off 30 to 40 degrees at night. Not always desirable in winter, but super special in summer.
Sounds like a perfect lovely day. I get those cooler temps at night too. Love them, even when I need to turn heat on a little bit in July! Gives me a good chuckle 🤭
The spuds? My try at making a funny….you know spuds….Idaho potato thingys?
I am not sure, but I assume (yes, I know about that word) the ones from Denny’s are Idaho. Should they wear a little tag?
😂
Good morning, ms Idaho🤗🌷
Blessings and hugs
Glad you do as we do (ours not a routine thing) and went for a lovely breakfast at Denny’s… YUM!
We go to IHOP for an early “breakfast for dinner” sometimes. There is one within walking distance from us in a repurposed (fad word these days) Bank of America building.
At first, we were quite excited that one was so close, but we went and it was so clinical and corporate, long wait for food, and the service was not good. So we have returned to our first haunt which is about a 10 minute drive. It has a sort of old timey feel, the service is always perfect, the staff are always jolly, and we get one meal free if we also by two drinks.
So a 2-egg breakfast, sausage or bacon, hashbrowns, toast, coffee x2 and we are out of there at $12.00…not bad.
It takes very little to make us happy.
So glad you could organize your freezer with what you bought. I understand that struggle as ours is small as well. A victory worth shouting about🤗🌷
I never timed it, but the slow walk to the car, takedown window reflectors, add sunglasses and seatbelt, get car out of parking lot, get on eWay – exit. Wait for lights, drive a little more – might take all of 10 minutes.
Not far from Denny’s is an IHOP. Years ago we ate there fairly often. When we tried it a few months back our reaction was like yours.
By contrast the folks at Denny’s recognize and welcome us. We have 2 things we order – multi grain pancakes plus eggs and sausage, or that marvelous omelet. Gonna try them for the afternoon meal some, too.
We’ve been trying various frozen meals – we have a microwave, don’t ‘cha know? But I think we need more variety – need salads too.
The Applebees close to our ‘apartment’ has wonderful French onion soup. I try to ration myself.
We can’t get out of there for $15 because we have to leave a tip, don’t ‘cha know?
The folks at Denny’s recognize us you write.
Makes me think of the theme song from the sitcom Cheers. Oh, we tip all right, very well. That $12 was without tip. Staff don’t get much, and we want them to know we appreciate them.
Don’t know if you saw the story of the man who worked for 27 years at Burger King without missing a shift.
Recognizing his good and faithful service, BK corporate offices gave him a small gift bag containing a bag of Reeces Pieces, a movie ticket, and something else can’t remember.
A video was made of while opened it, and honestly, ms Idaho…he was so grateful. He really was. But the video went viral and so outraged those who saw it (I being one of the outraged), a kind woman started a go fund me account. Last I saw it was up to $120,000.
He’s going to use the money to help his kids through a higher education…and I hope that corporate at BK feel the eternal embarrassment and shame they need to experience for that disgraceful show of how much they “appreciated ” his diligence every shift for 27 years. Nothing in recognition would have been better than that picayune acknowledgement, which spoke to how BK values their employees.
All of ours have worked as wait staff in restaurants when they were at university, and now our twin grandlads do as well. So I will generously tip in recognition of a tiring job, when the service is exceptional. And I will do it gladly.👍💖
wow – what a story. I saw the headlines, but didn’t read…
Isn’t Burger King one of the multi nationals? I can’t tell you how many years it has been since we have had a BK or McDonalds. ptooey
I won’t say we are generous tippers, but we try to be fair.
there probably is no better way for young people to learn the ways of the world than working in the service industry.
One of my many earlier life experiences – I had the chance to fly to an island in the Bahamas. We visited a big, beautiful casino. From my ‘bunny days’ I considered working there – so we did a little ‘investigating’
A couple of things turned me off. The resort had been developed to lure the $$ from NYC. The natives who worked there were treated (by customers) as slaves. And they were the people who lived there!
The other thing was – you couldn’t really ‘live’ there. If you did something that the powers that be didn’t like, you were escorted off the island – maybe in the middle of the night.
So, even tho it might have been the opportunity of a lifetime, maybe a chance to make lots of $$, it was a gamble – and I am not a gambler.
Today I take Steve’s old Ram pickup truck that I am going to buy to my Son and Daughter in laws in Avon, IN on the SW side of Indy near the airport. I will bundle Sherry and Allison in her car seat into it.
We will stay for a visit and to see all the renovations they have done to their house and have a steak dinner off his grill, then load a rectangular glass top table and the six chairs they don’t use anymore into the back of the pickup and bring them home to use on our deck.
That old Ram 3/4 ton pickup is in fantastic shape and has the 10 cylinder engine it like that used in the Dodge Viper. Steve is not quite ready to sell it because it is set up to haul is fifth wheel and he hasn’t got his new pickup truck set up for that as yet.
I need a pickup for doing the things I do out here and my old chevy is on its last legs unless I put a bunch of money into it. So buying Steve’s for $3,000 is a much better answer for me and a good thing for him. Not hardly a spot of rust on it and everything still works and the interior is excellent. I’m going to have some body work done and have it repainted and do a few other things to it and it should be the last pickup truck I need.
Enjoy your wonderful day, rah🌷

Heading for 81 here arthritis left hip limping around waiting for Grim Reaper rain cold overcast. THEN sun came out. Boys decide to reclaim about 15 acres that had a lot of blackberries (big himalayan type). As haying underway I said I want to mow the blackberries. They say “you can’t even get on the tractor.” So I get on little tractor with 5′ wide land pride brush hog and they wave me off. Four days later I’m almost done (got too hot radiator boiling). Left hip much better. can get on and off tractor better. New lease of life. Grim Reaper can wait. Talk about redneck. I’m sunburned.
We should get together some time. Most impressive work you did merrie!!! Red neck!!!!! 😂
Could possibly give “some” here a run for their money. Pssst need to borrow my chipper? 😂
that chipper might come in handy as canes inch thick. thanks for the offer kitty cat
I thought we were the only ones who gave blackberry bushes haircuts – years ago that is
One of our motor home adventures had us camping overnight where the CG had blackberry bushes all around the perimeter. And they were full of berries.
Doct and labrador went berry picking. funny to watch. dog was very careful getting berries and avoiding getting stuck in the face. near as I could tell she had her fill.
haircut? these babies are so big you can’t see me or tractor when we go through them. need goats. if we use spray like crossbow fruit trees and grapes die as do butterflies and birdies.
I don’t have a clear memory as I did not participate in the work – I think a neighbor came by with his tractor and pulled them out of the ground. After letting them die on the ground they did something – burn them?
But, yes, they do grow out of bounds if not kept under control.
My very favorite berries remain thimbleberries. I have only seen them / picked them on the Keweenaw Penninsula in Northern Michigan. They are a lot like raspberries, but have a thimble – like shape and are fuzzy. They are not super sweet, but you keep wanting to pick and eat more – ha ha
I identify with what you’re saying. At one time, mine were at least 15’ tall and 700’ in length. I conned the utility company to clear that mess, being in the easement area. They certainly are buggers when left on their own.

Could one of you post the prayer for the next week or so? I am moving and won’t have a way to do it after tomorrow night. Thank you.
I’ll try, but our electricity and internet have become very unreliable. If I miss out, could someone else step in, please.
