Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

When I first started posting music videos on the Treehouse, I tended to focus on classical guitar performances. I admit to being self-indulgent about this—I’ve always enjoyed finding and sharing the performances of really accomplished concert guitarists. As time when on, however, my inner disc-jocky emerged and I realized that a steady diet of classical guitar videos may not be all that entertaining to people who didn’t play guitar . . . So, I began selecting and posting other kinds of performances I also found enjoyable.
I mention this because tonight I want to beg your indulgence for a bit. I so enjoyed discovering guitarist Petra Polackova that I’d like to introduce several additional selections tonight. In particular I want to share het exquisite performance of 4 brief preludes composed by Mexican composer and friend of Andres Segovia, Maual Ponce.
Although I’m very familiar with the Ponce preludes, I hae to say I’ve never heard them played with such intense beauty as I heard with Petra’s performances. So, if I may, I’d like to share them with you them tonight.
I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did when I came across these videos . . .
#2 Did she take lessons from Ed Norton? ?Thought any second Ralph Kramden would yell WILL YOU STOP THAT!
🙂 Philistine . . .
Her rendition of An Malvina was the best of today’s selection, IMHO. Beautifully melodic, she adds an amazing level of dynamics to her performance of the arrangement. I’m sure Segovia would be impressed all around.
Thanks Garrison.
It’s her use of dynamics that makes a huge difference in her performance. This is really a matter of perception and, watching her play, I immediately got a full lesson in how-to-do-it. I’ve long sense got over being humbled when I encounter her level of playing. Instead, I just appreciate it for what it is. I’ve played the Ponce Preludes for many years but never understood how a those half-beat pauses===which seem like forever—can transform the whole piece.
I agree with you on all points. Although I’m still always a bit “humbled” by the display of mastery of an instrument by an accomplished artist. I briefly imagine how much repetitive practice and hard work was put into developing the superior skills they show in their performances…not to mention their deeper understanding of the emotions underlying each particular arrangement.
half-beat pauses = melodic phrasing ==> dynamics / emotion
While I never got beyond basics in my early life guitar lessons, my later life 20 year foray into competitive acapella quartet and choral singing exposed me to various professional coaches and instructors who taught me the art form enhanced by interpretive dynamics. With that enlightenment, one can then more easily see that the same principle applies to instrumental performance. Human voice is the original “instrument.”
Garrison, for certain your musical class is vastly superior to mine. Although not my “thing” I can certainly hear the absolute talent, love and emotion (which is what it’s all about really). I always figured I’d keep the ‘class” for when I’m eventually God willing, just about at that age when gardening suddenly becomes a “thing” – always believed that if I could keep up with the “old” rockers, Mark, Eric, CSN – OK stuff from my “wild” youth, I’d be able to be the oldest “rocker” in the nursing home – lol. Now I understand what my parents and some of the more “saintly” members of my family must have thought about my Deep Purple, Bad Company, and heaven forbid even stuff like Black Sabbath (had to keep that one down) – they were probably having the priest come in while I was at school – “maybe he plays it backwards or something” Funny enough, as one grows older one either just sees through the garbage and becomes more selective, while still holding on to some of the “memories” I hope to die one day with a pair of headphones on and what will have to be “my bestest tune ever” Maybe I’ll still discover it, but have a few selected anyway that will do just fine – depending on the “mood”.
Just remember there’s more to the song than meets the eye. Many times the words are timeless, the emotions unchanging.
Heard a disc-jockey call it “geezer-rock” and thought—yep that’s what it is. But, then, how many contemporary bands can match that musicianship?
Did you ever post videos of Jerry Garcia, my favorite guitarist of all time?

FYI…The CDC Guidance for COVID CAMPS has been released.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/global-covid-19/shielding-approach-humanitarian.html?fbclid=IwAR3WZzuBAsLjybZgLejEDqzNLkhin0ePERm7NCEz2yYLettP1-njTGI_nME
If CDC categorizes you as a member of the High-Risk group then “See Ya, Wouldn’t want to be ya”. Off to the Containment Zone for you.
The shielding approach aims to reduce the number of severe COVID-19 cases by limiting contact between individuals at higher risk of developing severe disease (“high-risk”) and the general population (“low-risk”). High-risk individuals would be temporarily relocated to safe or “green zones” established at the household, neighborhood, camp/sector or community level depending on the context and setting.1,2 They would have minimal contact with family members and other low-risk residents.
Current evidence indicates that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.3 In most humanitarian settings, older population groups make up a small percentage of the total population.4,5 For this reason, the shielding approach suggests physically separating high-risk individuals from the general population to prioritize the use of the limited available resources and avoid implementing long-term containment measures among the general population.

At the basics, the attack on Western Civilization is massively funded. Where does the money come from? Taxpayers? Partly. Billionaires? Importantly. I don’t blame billionaires as a class. Becoming one is an important incentive, and most are solid citizens that want what’s best for the people, even if it costs them. But there are those that can’t resist the power grab, and therein lies the problem.
The money also flows freely from the printing presses as if there’s no day of reckoning coming.

The disruption efforts to target the Symposium, seems to extend to the platforms disseminating information too.
The increase in trolls and bot like behavior on Gab, during the first day of the symposium was dramatic. I usually block the odd anti Semitic agitator/ race mongering agitator every now and then, but today was wack=a-provocateur day. I wonder if its similar across other non Globalist owned platforms. The symposium must have them concerned. The same with the live feed on Rumble. The vitriol was coming in hot, and fast.
Did anyone experience this?
Any other irregular incidents?
I didn’t because I rarely ever visit Gab.
interestingly, relatively few trolls and disrupters bothered us here in the Treehouse. Sundance did his homework when he commissioned CTH 2.0.
I for one am appreciative of that diligence and effort.
That’s a beauty to cheer for!
THIS EXPERIENCE MUST COME
“And he saw him no more.” 2 Kings ii. 12
It is not wrong to depend upon Elijah as long as God gives him to you, but remember the time will come when he will have to go; when he stands no more to you as your guide and leader, because God does not intend he should. You say – “I cannot go on without Elijah.” God says you must.
ALONE AT YOUR JORDAN. v. 14. Jordan is the type of separation where there is no fellowship with anyone else, and where no one can take the responsibility for you. You have to put to the test now what you learned when you were with your Elijah. You have been to Jordan over and over again with Elijah, but now you are up against it alone. It is no use saying you cannot go; this experience has come, and you must go. If you want to know whether God is the God you have faith to believe Him to be, then go through your Jordan alone.
ALONE AT YOUR JERICHO. v. 15. Jericho is the place where you have seen your Elijah do great things. When you come to your Jericho you have a strong disinclination to take the initiative and trust in God, you want someone else to take it for you. If you remain true to what you learned with Elijah, you will get the sign that God is with you.
ALONE AT YOUR BETHEL. v. 23. At your Bethel you will find yourself at your wits’ end and at the beginning of God’s wisdom. When you get to your wits’ end and feel inclined to succumb to panic, don’t; stand true to God and He will bring His truth out in a way that will make your life a sacrament. Put into practice what you learned with your Elijah, use his cloak and pray. Determine to trust in God and do not look for Elijah any more.

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
1 John 5:12 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
BE MY VOICE
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.

Well now. I just read an article on Bonjino report that states they are going to start putting alcohol in Mountain Dew. Not much. Just a buzz effort it seems. I remember when my dad told me he would have mountain dew hanging in trees. Loved that story. When the sun would come up that old maple would glow.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as described by St. Justin Martyr in about 145 AD.
“No one may share the Eucharist with us unless he believes that what we teach is true, unless he is washed in the regenerating waters of baptism for the remission of his sins, and unless he lives in accordance with the principles given us by Christ.
We do not consume the eucharistic bread and wine as if it were ordinary food and drink, for we have been taught that as Jesus Christ our Savior became a man of flesh and blood by the power of the Word of God, so also the food that our flesh and blood assimilates for its nourishment becomes the flesh and blood of the incarnate Jesus by the power of his own words contained in the prayer of thanksgiving.
The apostles, in their recollections, which are called gospels, handed down to us what Jesus commanded them to do. They tell us that he took bread, gave thanks and said: Do this in memory of me. This is my body. In the same way he took the cup, he gave thanks and said: This is my blood. The Lord gave this command to them alone. Ever since then we have constantly reminded one another of these things. The rich among us help the poor and we are always united. For all that we receive we praise the Creator of the universe through his Son Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit.
On Sunday we have a common assembly of all our members, whether they live in the city or the outlying districts. The recollections of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as there is time. When the reader has finished, the president of the assembly speaks to us; he urges everyone to imitate the examples of virtue we have heard in the readings. Then we all stand up together and pray.
On the conclusion of our prayer, bread and wine and water are brought forward. The president offers prayers and gives thanks to the best of his ability, and the people give assent by saying, “Amen”. The eucharist is distributed, everyone present communicates, and the deacons take it to those who are absent.
The wealthy, if they wish, may make a contribution, and they themselves decide the amount. The collection is placed in the custody of the president, who uses it to help the orphans and widows and all who for any reason are in distress, whether because they are sick, in prison, or away from home. In a word, he takes care of all who are in need.
We hold our common assembly on Sunday because it is the first day of the week, the day on which God put darkness and chaos to flight and created the world, and because on that same day our savior Jesus Christ rose from the dead. For he was crucified on Friday and on Sunday he appeared to his apostles and disciples and taught them the things that we have passed on for your consideration.“
It is worth noting that he was describing the practice of the Church in Rome, which was regarded as the center of the civilized world, and was already holding a place of prominence in decision-making within the whole Church (as described in the writings of early Church fathers St. Ignatius of Antioch and St. Clement of Rome). This Church was violently persecuted by the pagan Roman government of the time, and the reason wasn’t because they were stealing those pesky ‘pagan rituals.’
Been expecting this.
It’s all about that damned spike and those blood filtering organs seem ripe for trouble from it.

Perseid Meteor shower should peak tonight and for those of you that have clear skies that go out to watch it is supposed to be a pretty good show with up to 60 per hour at the peak. As always with any meteor shower that results from our planet passing through the path a comet once took, maximum number per hour will be seen between midnight and dawn. Before midnight there will fewer but the few you may see will last longer because of their angular trajectory.
“WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11
■ The Perseid meteor shower should peak late tonight, and there’s no moonlight to interfere!
Early in the evening the meteors will be rather few, because the shower’s radiant will still be low (in the northeast). But for that same reason, early-evening Perseids overhead will be unusually long as they graze sideways through the uppermost atmosphere. Later in the night the meteors will become more numerous (and shorter) as the radiant rises high and they plunge more directly downward. The best show will be from about 11 or midnight until the first light of dawn on the 12th; the later the better.
Layer up warmly even if the day was hot; remember about radiational cooling under a clear open sky. A sleeping bag will serve for warmth and mosquito armor; use DEET where you remain exposed.
Bring a reclining lawn chair to a dark, open spot where no local lights get in your eyes. Lie back, and gaze up into the stars. Be patient. As your eyes adapt to the dark, you may see a meteor every few minutes during the evening, and every minute or so on average as the morning hours advance. You’ll see fewer under light pollution, but the brightest ones will still shine through. The best direction to look is wherever your sky is darkest, usually overhead.
For much more see Bob King’s Fine Show Expected from the Perseid Meteor Shower. And you can follow the International Meteor Organization’s activity graph of the shower so far. It’s based on visual meteor counts reported by observers around the globe, performed by carefully standardized methods to make them inter-comparable.”
