Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Put Your Head on my Shoulder – Forgiveness – Sarah McLachlan
The young ad student, Situ Mo, only met the physics student when her almost boyfriend from high school began using his college roommate to take care of Mo Mo when he preferred to do his own thing – usually basketball. Though Fu Pei had originally asked Mo Mo to date him in college, his weak personality backed out once one of his fans started crying. So their relationship continued ambiguously up to the time Mo Mo moved into Gu Weiyi’s parents’ apartment. And it ended with a crash when Fu Pei got drunk and imagined that Mo Mo’s dorm roommate was Mo Mo and tried to kiss her. Total disaster and the Mo Mo ended the ambiguity for good. Finding love is hard. And often accidental. I loved her deeply but was too young to understand what that meant. I remember her kindness. 🙂
I think these shows send everyone’s minds back to their early loves. Sometimes tragic; sometimes pure luck and later hard work. The boy I loved when I was 6 and he was 3 actually found me online and figured out how to find me in a bookshop in the NYC train station, based on his memories of what I’d do. These memories are absolutely priceless. Even if you don’t have the person, it’s so good to have the memories.
Yep. And I think we best realize their value when we are older. Looking back I’m glad I had those experiences, glad I can look back on them with fondness. There’s a purity there that’s served to guide me through 53 of marriage.
Well done on 53! I’ve clawed my way to 50, which shocks the wits out of me. Remember when we watched movies and thought people in their 40s were old?

Probably the same guy that said that mean old PDJT forgot to order enough vaccine. Oh my!
Emmylou Harris owes much of her success to the influence of Gram Parsons . . . who died of a drug overdose at age 27. Although she’s always been reticent about their relationship (Gram was married) the two were obviously soulmates in ways that transcend music. In 1999 Emmylou released a tribute album featuring Gram’s songs performed by musicians who she thought inherited much of the spirit of the Gram’s country-rock music. I bought the CD at the time and really enjoyed the versions of Gram’s music. Here are a couple of good examples . . .

I remember learning to play “No Matter What” when it came out in 1970. Still a fun song to play today. The Jay Sekulow Band cover the song too.
Yep. This is a good ‘un. 🙂
Is the Word of God Consistent ?
By Pastor Paul M. Sadler
Inconsistencies are the way of man. Politicians are inconsistent; they often promise one thing and do another, depending on how the political winds are blowing. The testimony of a murderer is often inconsistent with the evidence that is presented. Even medical science is inconsistent with its own declarations. The conventional wisdom years ago was to stay in bed for two weeks after major surgery to heal properly. Today, most patients are required to be up and around the same day.
I recall the time I was speaking to a young dispensationalist who was convinced that the “two…in the field; the one…taken, and the other left” was clearly the Rapture. I graciously shared with him that he was anticipating revelation. That is, he was taking something he had learned from Paul’s writings and was superimposing it on the Lord’s teaching about His Second Coming. I pointed out to him that his view was inconsistent with the context of Matthew 24. When I inquired who was removed from the earth in the days of Noah, the believer or the unbeliever, he was speechless.
Unlike man, the Word of God is never inconsistent with itself, even though it may appear to be at times. God is omniscient; therefore, His Word is like a finely woven tapestry from beginning to end. A friend in Christ once wrote to me about an observation he had made from the gospel according to Matthew:
Here’s one that will probably stump you—it has me! Matthew states that the “blood money” that was used to purchase the potter’s field after Judas hanged himself was in fulfillment of “…that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet” (Matt. 27:8-10). I’ve searched the Book of Jeremiah thoroughly and I am sorry to report, it’s not there.
He’s right! A few years ago he would have had me over a barrel on this one. But recently, I did some research on this portion and discovered the solution to the problem staring me in the face. Normally, the Gospel writers state, “As it is written…,” such as we have in the case of John the Baptist (Compare Luke 3:4,5 & Isa. 40:3,4). However, Matthew does not say that which was fulfilled was written. Instead, Jeremiah is said to have spoken these words, which the Spirit of God revealed to the apostle by a special revelation. This is another thread of inspiration that is carefully interwoven throughout the Scriptures (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:21). Indeed, the Book you hold in your hand is the Word of God!

Matthew 27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
10 And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.
Luke 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
Isaiah 40:3 ¶ The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Peter1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Wild Weasel III
Situation.
Shock & Awe.
That was not a term made up by the press to sensationalize the initial air attacks during the 2nd Gulf war. It is the name given the strategy of separating an enemies head from it’s body. The idea is to destroy the enemy ability to detect attacks and communicate there by making it difficult for the enemy high command to figure out what is going on and to communicate and transmit orders to subordinate units.
So all of the initial targets of the barrage of Tomahawk cruise missiles followed by air attacks that opening night were long range radars, command centers, and communications. In some cases even telephone relay stations and cell phone towers. In the words of Dan Hampton: ::Punch out their eyes and mouth so they can’t see to react or cry for help”. The only attack that night that could be considered an exception was the very first one which was intended to kill Saddam and his sons. But that attack was based on faulty CIA intelligence and failed in it’s objective. It did however alert the Iraqis that the war was on.
The Iraqis were organized on the Soviet system meaning that subordinates were not trained or encouraged to take the initiative in the absence of orders, but to await orders from above before making a move. So without orders many Iraqi units of all types sat tight and did not move. And so removing or at least hampering the ability of the high command to have early warning and to issue timely orders to their subordinates is a very effective strategy for opening a war against an enemy that works on such a command system.
The US Air Force and the Navy had been flying over Iraq enforcing the no fly zones between the wars and so were quite familiar with most of the terrain and installations that laid in those zones which covered about 3/4 of the country..
Of course the First Gulf war had revealed much about how the Iraqi military worked and it’s capabilities and weaknesses and during the years between the wars the planners had assessed those lessons, learned and planned for the contingency of invading Iraq. After all, most people paying attention and having working brain cells understood the odds were high that the US would be dealing with Saddam again.
American pilots were already licking their chops to get at the Iraqi MiG-23s and French made Mirage fighters. They swarmed all over them and the Iraqis did not record a single air to air victory. In fact the only fighters they had that would survive the war were those that were chased into Iran to save themselves and those that were buried in the sand to try and keep them from being destroyed on the ground. In those first two days when ever the Iraqi fighters took off from their airfields to contest the Coalition bombings, none, not a single one, came back. So one can see how the moral of the remaining Iraqi fighter pilots quickly bottomed out and why the Coalition achieved total air superiority by the end of the 2nd day of battle.
The art of Weaseling had advanced considerably during those years between the wars. Now far more emphasis was being put on not just suppressing the enemy’s SAM and AAA sites, but destroying them. A suppressed site can come back up again and shoot at you, but a destroyed site will never be a threat again. The continued advance in precision guided munitions helped make this possible. Now, instead of lobbing HARM antiradiation missiles to temporarily suppress a site to protect aircraft attacking other targets, HARMs were used more and more to suppress a SAM site so that it could be attacked and destroyed by other Weasel aircraft.
The Iraqis had over 8,000 mobile SAM launchers and thousands more shoulder fired MANPADs in addition to the 400 SA-2, SA-3, and SA-6s and French Roland systems. And the count of AAA went into the 10s of 1,000s. All of the permanent sites were located around the major population centers which is also where the majority of Iraqi forces were concentrated, along with their airfields. That is also where the majority of the radar directed AAA was located.
Since the Iraqis used primarily Soviet equipment the US and European members of the Coalition were very familiar with it and it’s capabilities and weaknesses due to training to deal with those threats during the Cold War. For example, as an SF soldier that had been on teams tasked with Special reconnaissance far behind enemy lines, I had been trained to not only recognize the many different APCs, tanks, anti aircraft types, radars, communications, and CBR vehicles, but to know what echelon of the command structure they were typically attached to. We weren’t just trained to identify them by picture of the of a piece of equipment but trained to identify them at night and in poor visibility and even when they were tarped on RR flat cars for transports. We called the last type of identification training “tarpology”.
To help all of the coalition aircraft against these defenses the US provided plenty of electronic warfare aircraft for jamming Iraqi communications and foxing their radar guided SAMS and AAA. No military in the world compares to the US in EW (Electronic Warfare).
So over all the US assessments of Iraq’s military capability were very complete and accurate. While the Iraqi’s, despite their previous experience, were far more in the dark about how they would be attacked by the coalition forces. Plus the coalition by determining the time, places, and method of attacks, held the initiative. Thus the complete domination of the Coalition forces over the Iraqi military despite the fact that it was at that time the 4th largest in the world.
On the ground the initial American advance was nearly 150 miles in the first 24 hours breaking Patton’s 3rd Army record of WWII. In fact the advance is so fast that the attacking Army and Marine units began to out run their logistical tails. And then on the fifth day comes the sand storm blowing in from the west to east and on the ground reducing visibility to 10 meters (about 30 ft.) and most US ground attacks are halted. Most histories say the sand storm was the reason for the pause in US ground offense operations but the fact is that a pause would have been necessary very soon to allow the supply chain to catch up with the forward units even if the sandstorm had never occurred.
Not all ground operations came to a halt however. The Marines were still in fierce fight to take two bridges over the Euphrates river near Nasiriya. While the Iraqi’s, seeing an opportunity to use the sandstorm to cover troop movements and attack, began moving Brigade sized elements of their Republican Guard units southward from their defensive positions south of Baghdad to attack.
In the air the US Air Force had still launched strike missions and Wild Weasel missions despite the approaching storm and worsening conditions. The sandstorm did not provide as much cover for their movements as the Iraqi’s thought it would. J-Stars aircraft flying above the worst of the storm could still penetrate it with their high power radar and provided target coordinates to high flying bombers which dropped precision weapons upon the Iraqi units not too close to US forces. Later BDA (Bomb Damage Assessment) reports would reveal that the average error of the precision weapons dropped during the stand storm from high flying bombers was about 10 meters despite the heavy winds the weapons had to contend with while dropping through the storm.
But to do close air support for the Marines required eyes on the enemy and at least an idea of exactly where the friendly forces were located. And even with such knowledge mistakes can be made. Twelve Marines were killed by a wayward close air support strike during this time period.
So this gives you and idea of the situation when our experienced and highly trained Wild Weasel pilot, Dan Hampton, had his longest day. I will provide his abridged narrative of that day’s events starting with the next installment.
One edit to the above. The sand storm came in on the 5th day, not the 3rd as stated.

While we futilely fiddle with getting better elections (and borders) as for the last 40 years, China grows stronger each day after a near death experience during the Trump era. The Swamp continues to entrench and enrich itself despite the whole thing having a 1980s USSR vibe.

If Dred Scott appealed to this John Roberts current SCOTUS:
A) if while still captive as a slave, the John Roberts SCOTUS would say, “standing denied, Mr. Scott has not yet escaped and therefore not yet captured by slave hunters, so he does not have injury to claim standing.”
B) if after escaping but later captured by slave hunters, this John Roberts SCOTUS would say, “Mr. Scott your case is moot because your freedom has ended at the hands of the slave hunters. Slavery is the settled law of the land.”
Oh yeah – the SCOTUS of that day (1857) got the Dred Scott v. Sandford case wrong. It appears SCOTUS makes mistakes bigly in every generation.
It is reasonable to say that today’s states that have loosey-goosey-anything-goes-essentially-no-rules-voting are the slave-plantations of today. Elite-greedy-ruling-class that maintains power by brute force.
excellent and thoughtful analogy!

HAVE YOU FELT THE HURT OF THE LORD?
“Jesus said unto him the third time, Lovest thou Me?” John xxi. 17
Have you felt the hurt of the Lord to the uncovered quick, the place where the real sensitiveness of your life is lodged? The devil never hurts there, neither sin nor human affection hurts there, nothing goes through to that place but the word of God. “Peter was grieved because Jesus said unto him the third time…” He was awakening to the fact that in the real true centre of his personal life he was devoted to Jesus, and he began to see what the patient questioning meant. There was not the slightest strand of delusion left in Peter’s mind, he never could be deluded again. There was no room for passionate utterance, no room for exhilaration or sentiment. It was a revelation to him to realize how much he did love the Lord, and with amazement he said – “Lord, Thou knowest all things.” Peter began to see how much he did love Jesus; but he did not say – “Look at this or that to confirm it.” Peter was beginning to discover to himself how much he did love the Lord, that there was no one in heaven above or upon earth beneath beside Jesus Christ; but he did not know it until the probing, hurting questions of the Lord came. The Lord’s questions always reveal me to myself.
The patient directness and skill of Jesus Christ with Peter! Our Lord never asks questions until the right time. Rarely, but probably once, He will get us into a corner where He will hurt us with His undeviating questions, and we will realize that we do love Him far more deeply than any profession can ever show.
Oswald Chambers
March 2nd Devotional
I think it important to add, all three times when Jesus asked “do you love me.” He added, “feed my sheep.” This passage and instruction by Jesus was for the Apostle Peter and in a sense any of his disciples, to feed His sheep. Since man does not live by bread alone but from every word that comes from God, Jesus is saying, IF you love me, teach, read, follow the Word of God. The Bible.

Scenes Beyond the Grave – Marietta Davis
Chapter XV – The Phantom Sphere (Marietta visits Hell)
15:4 (continuation of the accosting spirit)
“I was welcomed with gay and sportive sounds. The beings whom you behold in the distance rushed forward to embrace me. They shouted welcome! welcome! I was awed, bewildered, and yet mentally quickened and energized by the atmosphere of this abode. I found myself endued with the power of a strange and restless motion. A flood of thoughts which had before existed in a germinal state within my mental organism, burst forth and filled the mind until the mental edifice appeared a minute but corresponding image of the dazzling scenery and moving lustre of the plane, which had now become my habitation.”
“Every organ sent forth and every pore emitted a phosphorescent illumination, which condensed about the head and formed the appearance of a brilliant diadem, and reflected on the countenance a wild, unearthly glow. The exhalation as it extended became a flaming robe, enveloping my form and causing it to conform in appearance to the invariable likeness of my spirit associates.”
“I became conscious of a strange pervasion of the brain, and the cerebral organs became subject to a foreign power, which seemed to operate by an absolute possession.”
“I abandoned myself to the attractive influences that were around me, and sought to satisfy my craving desires for pleasure. I reveled, I banqueted, I mingled in the wild and voluptuous dance, I plucked the shining fruit, I plunged in the ardent streams, I surfeited my nature with that which externally appeared delicious and inviting to the sight and to the sense. But when tasted, all was loathing and a source of increasing pain. And so unnatural are the desires perpetuated here that what I crave I loathe, and that which delights tortures me. My tortures create within me a strange intoxication. My appetite is palled, and yet my hunger is unappeased and unappeasable.”
“Every object which I perceive I crave, and I grasp it in the midst of disappointment and gather it with increased agony. With every new accession of experience I am immersed in some unknown fantasy, delirium and intoxication. New and strange phenomena are continually manifested and add delirium to delirium, and fear to fear. I seem to myself to become part of that which is about me, and the varied scenes which are mirrored upon the vison appear radiated from me, in a thousand phantasmagorial deceptions. The voices which fall upon my ear, again burst from me in incontrollable utterances. I laugh, philosophize, jeer, blaspheme and ridicule by turns, yet every epithet, however interiorly impure, sparkles with every rhetorical embellishment. The metallic ores, the waving trees, the shining fruit, the moving phantasms, the deluding waters, seem to form a dazzling and mocking spectacle, which is ever before my eyes, and every subject of reflection, has its fellow in my heart, from which, in its mocking scenery, it meets a response. I inwardly crave to satisfy my hunger and my thirst, and the desire appears to create without and around me a tantalizing illusion of cool waters I may never drink, and grateful fruits I may never taste, and refreshing airs I never feel, and peaceful slumbers I may never enjoy. I know that the forms around me are fantastic and delusive, yet every object appears to hold controlling power, and to domineer with cruel enchantment over my bewildered mind.”
To be continued…
Verse of the Day for Tuesday, March 2, 2021
✟
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
Matthew 5:44 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
BE MY VOICE – I am a CHILD – Not a CHOICE!!!
Left out the cite: Psalm 14:2-3:
” 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
3 They have all turned aside,
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one. ”
Very key for Christians to understand. Left-of-center “liberal” denominations bury this concept, they say that people are basically good. That would leave sinfulness as a “negative” thing only “bad” people possess, but the fact is that everyone is a sinner, even the “born again”. If anyone tells you different point them to Scripture.

A couple weeks ago, Darrell Moncus, one of the godly teachers at our church filled in for our pastor and taught on Cognitive Resilience. His teaching reinforced my thought that the best way to have cognitive resilience in this time of a gaslighting media, lying public officials and toxic social media is to dive deep into God’s word.
The Scripture given to us by God Himself is not only the single greatest offensive weapon in our arsenal, but protection against the lies of the world. We need to dig deep and study hard in God’s word daily, reading the Bible through again and again, so that the Holy Spirit builds in us a Scripture-check (like spell-check only better) that we can use to filter all events that come against us. Our pastor is enabling this growth and equipping by assigning whole books of the Bible for us to read together daily as a congregation and write down observations to report to him.
When we are so equipped, we can view the events happening around us, run them through Scripture-check and see them through the lens of God’s word. In this manner, cognitive resilience is built into our minds so we can not only keep our sanity in these stressful times, but experience the peace from the Holy Spirit that passes all understanding, and know what God would have us to do.

The 50th Psalm Septuagint (Psalm 51 KJV)
Shakespeare was more famous for two epic poems he wrote at the start of his career, Venus & Adonis, and The Rape of Lucrece, than he ever became for his plays, since the theater was considered a bit low class, while poetry was the entry to the literary Pantheon. So I’ve been looking for a way to insert those poems into my Shakespeare mashups, and Governor Cuomo has accomodated me. Here’s the @metoo Cuomo news set to the music, well, the poetry, of Shakesepeare’s The Rape of Lucrece. I have no love for Ulster. The Ulster plantations were the result of English imperialism and subjugation of the native Irish. May Cromwell receive mercy from God, because the Irish will never forgive him, nor his epigones. But this poem by Kipling, below, in support of Ulster expresses powerfully the feelings of a people sold out by their leaders. Mutatis mutandis, substituting “RINOs and Democrats” for “England,” the poem expresses powerfully the feelings of many Americans who feel sold out by their leaders and “betters”:
Ulster by Rudyard Kipling
The dark eleventh hour
Draws on and sees us sold
To every evil power
We fought against of old.
Rebellion, rapine hate
Oppression, wrong and greed
Are loosed to rule our fate,
By England’s act and deed.
The Faith in which we stand,
The laws we made and guard,
Our honour, lives, and land
Are given for reward
To Murder done by night,
To Treason taught by day,
To folly, sloth, and spite,
And we are thrust away.
The blood our fathers spilt,
Our love, our toils, our pains,
Are counted us for guilt,
And only bind our chains.
Before an Empire’s eyes
The traitor claims his price.
What need of further lies?
We are the sacrifice.
We asked no more than leave
To reap where we had sown,
Through good and ill to cleave
To our own flag and throne.
Now England’s shot and steel
Beneath that flag must show
How loyal hearts should kneel
To England’s oldest foe.
We know the war prepared
On every peaceful home,
We know the hells declared
For such as serve not Rome —
The terror, threats, and dread
In market, hearth, and field —
We know, when all is said,
We perish if we yield.
Believe, we dare not boast,
Believe, we do not fear —
We stand to pay the cost
In all that men hold dear.
What answer from the North?
One Law, one Land, one Throne.
If England drive us forth
We shall not fall alone!
In my youth, I spent a year living with Irish Republicans; they were a great bunch of lads. We would go out to the pubs and sing “Republican” songs (IRA). This would routinely get us kicked out on our arses. Not without a brawl every now and then.
Did I mention this was in London during the IRA bombing campaign of 1974?
Those lads were fearless. I still keep in touch with a couple of them. They have mellowed in old age (somewhat). I envied their revolutionary spirit and commitment to the cause.
A poem courtesy of Dark Brightness:
Ric Grenell stated months ago in an interview that from his position as Acting DNI he believed it wasn’t about a few bad eggs in the U.S. Government but in reality it was the U.S. Government against We the People of the United States. So how do we take back our republic? All patriots need to convince our fellow citizens that our freedoms have been stolen and things will only get worse UNLESS we band together as free people and simply stop obeying the ridiculous lock down rules and regulations. There are many liberals who don’t like what is going on anymore than you so begin talking to each other instead of fighting each other. Conservatives should befriend liberals, whites should befriend blacks, straights should befriend gays all in the name of saving each others’ freedom. We don’t have to agree on everything but we MUST agree to protect each others’ rights and liberties or we all become slaves of the globalist elites. Remember – there are millions of us and only a few of them.
