Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The Supreme Importance Of God’s Word To The Believer
By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
The Bible will always have first place in the life of the spiritual Christian.
It is of utmost importance that we understand this, for some who feel themselves quite spiritual give much time to prayer, but little, if any, to the study of the Word. Such have actually fallen for the subtle trick of the adversary to play upon their natural human pride and cause them to exalt self and push God into the background.
In saying this we do not for one moment minimize the importance of prayer; we only stress the supreme importance of the holy Word of God. In this we are surely Scriptural, for David says, by inspiration:
“For Thou hast magnified Thy Word above all Thy name” (Psa. 138:2).
Of those who would still object and place first emphasis upon prayer rather than upon the Word, we would ask one simple question: Which is the more important, what we have to say to God or what He has to say to us? There can be but one answer to this question, for obviously what God has to say to us is infinitely more important than anything we might have to say to Him. Our prayers are as fraught with failure as we are, but the Word of God is infallible, immutable and eternal.
Yet some, having fallen for one of Satan’s “devices” and feeling quite spiritual about it, are like the talkative person to whom one listens and listens, occasionally nodding his head, but receiving little or no opportunity to “get a word in edgewise.” They do all the talking, but give little time listening to what God has to say to them.

Because I’m the cat, that’s why.
Have a blessed Sunday Treepers. We should never forget that our Lord is always with us. Sometimes it’s a little hard to remember that, sometimes we have to stop and think about it, but—in all honesty—I think that’s what our Lord intended. Part of the deal, part of being a strong believer, is that you have reach out to Him.

No way! … Way?…
Cat we had used to come up to the patio door wanting in, then when we’d open it he’d step back and let the racoons run in and snatch food from his dishes just inside the door. Did it constantly! The way they worked together convinced me they had to be communicating…..
How dang sweet ?

Those who identify as Christians, GET STRONG!
We are in for some very bad times, but, NEVER, NEVER, deny Christ!
Ephesians 6:10-12 (The Armor of God)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.…
The first word of that passage is “Finally.” If this is the “finally” what is the “firstly?” The first is over five chapters of preparation to live in unity with each other. The church in Ephesus was full of people that had never really lived side by side and they were now in a congregation of the faithful that would soon come under severe persecution. They must join together based on a singular focus, Jesus Christ. That required lives of submission to each other in the strength that everyone was given. It is quite profound. Only when the body of Christ is unified can God’s armor protect us and it will protect us with certainty. We come together, we take on God’s armor, we stand.
Excellent point! Thanks!
Sometimes our Lord saves us. But, then, sometimes we can save Him—for others and, also, sometimes like now, from others. There’s a mutuality there. It’s just part of the great mystery of believing. Some people get lost trying to unravel it all. In truth, there are just some things that profoundly rely of faith. It’s either there or it isn’t.
Call me in the morning . . . 🙂
Drink it all up!

DO YE NOW BELIEVE?
“By this we believe…Jesus answered, Do ye now believe?” John xvi. 30-31
Now we believe. Jesus says – Do you? The time is coming when you will leave Me alone. Many a Christian worker has left Jesus Christ alone and gone into work from a sense of duty, or from a sense of need arising out of his own particular discernment. The reason for this is the absence of the resurrection life of Jesus. The soul has got out of intimate contact with God by leaning to its own religious understanding. There is no sin in it, and no punishment attached to it; but when the soul realizes how he has hindered his understanding of Jesus Christ, and produced for himself perplexities and sorrows and difficulties, it is with shame and contrition he has to come back.
We need to rely on the resurrection life of Jesus much deeper down than we do, to get into the habit of steadily referring everything back to Him; instead of this we make our common-sense decisions and ask God to bless them. He cannot, it is not in His domain, it is severed from reality. If we do a thing from a sense of duty, we are putting up a standard in competition with Jesus Christ. We become a “superior person,” and say – “Now in this matter I must do this and that.” We have put our sense of duty on the throne instead of the resurrection life of Jesus. We are not told to walk in the light of conscience or of a sense of duty, but to walk in the light AS GOD IS IN THE LIGHT. When we do anything from a sense of duty, we can back it up by argument; when we do anything in obedience to the Lord, there is no argument possible; that is why a saint can be easily ridiculed.

Scenes Beyond the Grave – Marietta Davis
Chapter XV – The Phantom Sphere (Marietta visits Hell)
15:2
As I advanced, I walked as upon scorpions, and trod as amid living embers. The trees that seemed to wave about me were fiery exhalations, and their blossoms sparkling and the burnings of unremitting flames. Each object I approached by contact created agony.
The phosphorescent glare that surrounded the various objects burned the eye that looked upon them. The fruitage burned the hand that plucked and the lips that received it. The gathered flowers had emitted a burning exhalation, whose fetid and noisome odor, inhaled in the nostrils, caused excruciating pain. The fiery atoms of the atmosphere burned as they were wafted by me. The air and the blast that moved it, alike were burdened with the very elements of disappointment and wretchedness.
Upon turning to see if I could discover a single drop of water to allay the fierce and intolerable thirst; fountains appeared, and rivulets flowed amid the herbage, and lay in calm and placid pools. Soon, however, I discovered that these corresponded with the former illusions, and the drops of spray from the sparkling fountains fell like drops of spray from the sparkling fountains fell like drops of molten lead upon the shrinking form. The flowing rivulets were like the molten river of metallic fire that streams from a furnace seven times heated; and the deep still pools were as the white and waveless silver in some glowing crucible, when every atom is burning with a fierce, intolerable glow.
To be continued…
Our small congregation never stopped. We met quietly but not secretly. We took precautions to protect the vulnerable and provided a remote access for those that wanted it. We made the decision that we were led to do. Some churches looked as the same info and discerned that God was leading them to do other things. At some point we have to get back to what God is calling us to do.

We have ben blessed by many visitors, some intending to stay, whose churches remain closed, still, today.

How America was conquered by 2 cent paper masks is found in the replies to the SCOTUSblog tweet. Two main themes arise. (1) The posters don’t understand the Constitution, First Amendment, or that the Constitution’s not suspended for the flu. (2) They all believe everything MSM and government says about Covid (it’s a deadly killer to all, it’s easily spread, masks work, SD works, only “essential services” should be “allowed”, PCR testing is accurate, etc).
Facts, however, are that Covid has a greater than 99% survival rate. No more easily spread than flu. CDC’s May 2020 issuance said 14 mask studies show masks don’t work. Our Bill of Rights contains no “desist in emergencies” clause. Never in history of the world have lockdowns been studied or applied globally. WHO now admits PCR tests administered wrong all of 2020, and, PCR positive test does not indicate you have Covid.
Too many links to post here on the above. Search each issue using portions of each sentence I typed above. You’ll find the above claims substantiated by doctors, researchers, etc.
What’s most concerning about the replies to SCOTUSblog is that these deluded sheep are allowed to vote!

Good mornin all. Note to all in the northern and central US from the plains states east. WINTER IS NOT OVER! Many of us are enjoying unseasonably warm weather right now but it isn’t going to last and in fact we’re in for more winter in March. The NE US will get the first blast while we further west in the midwest and plains states enjoy somewhat warmer than average temps for a time again. But then the pattern changes and we in the midwest and plains states get our winter blast of snow and cold.
Oh! and BTW I bear more bad news. Joe Bastardi is saying it’s going to be a pretty bad tornado season. And so that means the perpetual battle between cold and warm and low pressures and high is going to be stormier than usual before the warm air dominates. Contrasts! Contrasts in temperatures, pressures, and humidity are what brings us our storms.
This is contrary to what the climate alarmists claim. They claim that somehow as the temperatures in the temperate and arctic zones get warmer and thus there is less contrast in temperatures with the tropical zone we will get more severe weather. That is contrary to common sense and the accumulated the meteorological records.
But for right now here in Central Indiana the high today is going to be about 61 deg, with scattered showers as a little blast of colder air pushes towards us and as is usual the lighter warm air piles up in front of the advancing cold front giving us a much warmer than normal day for this time of year.
So I am taking this opportunity to fire up the gas grill for the first time this year. I will have some work to do before that because due to my illness I did not do the normal winterization on my grill last fall. So I have some cleaning and wire brushing to do before I can grill. But the Porterhouse I bought recently are out and thawed and will go into zip locks for a quick marinade this morning in seasoned butter. And come rain or shine late this afternoon will find me with tongs in one hand and light Jack & cola in the other. Toss salad, and escalloped potatoes will round out the meal along with a home made freshly made fruit salad for desert.
May you all have a blessed Sunday.
Blessings to you and yours Rah! Thanks for the weather update!
Have a great day, Rah. Love your posts and I’m glad you are feeling better.

Set Yourself Apart from This Corrupt Generation
J. B. Shurk (American Thinker)
FTA: In contemplating Paul’s conversion from a notorious hunter of Christians to a devout follower of Jesus Christ, Caviezel also reflected on the significance of the apostle’s name. Before disappearing into the desert and suffering blindness, he was Saul; after comprehending the truth of the Holy Spirit and finding sight, he became Paul. “The name Saul means ‘great one.’ The name Paul means ‘little one,'” Caviezel noted. By “changing one little, tiny letter … we can become great in the eyes of God. But it requires us to be little if we wish to be great. This is the way of the saints.”

The devil never gains access to a humble soul. It is the number one weapon to fight with. Indeed, when we say “Put on the armor of God” I think that means, to some extent, humility.

“How does the Johnson & Johnson vaccine compare to other coronavirus vaccines? 4 questions answered”How does the Johnson & Johnson vaccine compare to other coronavirus vaccines? 4 questions answered – Watts Up With That?
Do to some people trying to pressure me in the past on this issue this was my response to the above post:
“Like I said. I’ll wait for the J&J version which is based on the tried and true methods used to produce many other vaccines in the past. Those of you that don’t want to wait and will get the Moderna or Pfizer versions, have at it. This is a personal health decision, unlike the masks and shutdowns that have been forced upon us. I am now quite resistant to being pressured to run with the herd based on the events of the last year and will rely upon my own judgment based on my own research into the issue and feel no need to justify my decision to ANYONE!”
“
What concerns me is that the adenovirus Johnson and Johnson uses is a chimpanzee virus. I was waiting for the J&J vaccine and thought it was a traditional vaccine but now I want to do more reading. Even though at least it is not an mRNA vaccine, which I will not take, it is still not as old school traditional as I thought it was. Still reading and praying.
Not a concern for me. Others used animal models for manufacturing their vaccines and immune globulins. Check out Tetanus Antitoxin for example. First developed in horses using horse serum.
Thanks, I will check that out! I am disabled and mostly bedridden so won’t be going to a vaccine center any time soon, but I want to keep reading. I don’t want the mRNA vaccine. Appreciate the reply!
Yesterday was the 14th of February on the traditional Calendar of the Orthodox Christian Church.
Saint Raphael the Syrian, Bishop of Brooklyn (+ 1915) was among the Saints who were commemorated yesterday.
He was born in Syria, lived at Beirut, and went on to study in Russia for service to the Church.
When he arrived in America in 1895, the Orthodox Faithful were scattered geographically. The various ethnic communities were part of the vast Russian Diocese mission.
Saint Raphael worked with tremendous diligence to visit, teach, and guide the Orthodox Faithful, in particular those who were Syrian-Lebanese. He was fluent in English, Arabic, Greek, and Russian.
He reposed in the Lord in 1915 in America before the Bolshevik atheists attacked the Church and before the upheaval of the Calendar change.
A PDF of his Life is available for download at this link for the February Synaxarion.

Great Reset Architects Celebrate The Orderly Quiet of Covid Lockdown CitiesGreat Reset Architects Celebrate The Orderly Quiet of Covid Lockdown Cities – Watts Up With That?
Those which retain the ability to actually think critically understand of course that what they really are “celebrating” is not the quiet but their success in cowing the masses. Just as that despicable little elfin creature they like to interview so much is not putting out well researched science based advise for the general welfare of all, but is dictating to the masses the decrees of government having little or nothing to do with what the science indicates. Fauci is nothing more than a mouthpiece that likes very much to hear himself speak. He is the “Bagdad Bob” for those that wish for government to dominate all.

Wild Weasels Continued.
Much of the following will be from the book VIPER PILOT, a memoir of air combat by Dan Hampton. (The F-16 is referred to by those who fly and know it as a Viper. The official nomenclature of “Fighting Falcon” is never use among the initiated. Just like the A-10 has the official name of Thunderbolt, but is known as the Warthog by about everyone.)
Hampton retired as one of the most decorated men in US Air Force history. He flew F-16s for his entire operational career and only flew operationally in Wild Weasel squadrons during his career. He saw combat in the First Gulf War, the Balkans over Kosovo and Serbia, and in the 2nd Gulf War.
By the time he served in that last war he was a graduate of the Fighter Weapons Instructor Course. Only those considered to be the best are selected to have the opportunity to attend this course. Contrary to what some say, the Air Force Fighter Weapons Instructor Course is not the equivalent of the Navy Top Gun course though both concentrate on some of the same subject matter. The Top Gun course is 9 weeks long, the Air Force Fighter Weapons Instructor course is 5 1/2 months long and has a higher failure rate than the Navy Top Gun program.
Those that graduate that course are an elite within the elite. They serve in the Squadron as the expert on tactics and weapons. They are the teachers of the teachers and are probably the biggest single reason why US fighter pilots are the best trained on earth. . They are referred to as the Weapons Officer or unofficially as a “Patch Wearer” or “Target Arm” They wear a distinctive patch on the left shoulder of their flight suit.
The realm of the Weapons officer in the squadron is “The Vault”. A highly secured room entered through a coded double steel door where all mission planning and classified briefings and debriefings are conducted. The “Vault” is the beating heart of a fighter squadron. Fighter pilots spend many hours in “The Vault”. A pre-mission briefing can be 1 1/2 hours in duration. The post mission debriefing and discussion can take over two hours and then in times of war can be followed by another pre-mission briefing.
Like virtually all members of an elite unit that one only can become a part of by making it through intensive training and testing where many an wannabe falls by the wayside, they can appear to most outsiders as supremely confident, arrogant, A-holes. It is just a fact of life and human nature. As an SF soldier I often felt the under current of animus of fellow soldiers just because of the color of the beret I wore or the patches on my shoulder. At the same time I would probably have a good down payment on a new car if I got a dollar for every time I heard some soldier say “I would have gone SF but…….” fill in the blank. People are people and jealousy manifests in many ways. And don’t get the idea this is limited to enlisted personnel. In fact in my experience the worst of them that allowed their personal feelings to override their professionalism were commissioned officers.
I will continue later with an abridged transcription that will be related in several posts about a very long day over Iraq for Hampton during that famous sand storm. Ironically, according to his accounts in his book the two times he came closest to dying in combat occurred when he was not flying weasel missions but had been called on for close air support or recon.
Wayne Coynes’ latest iteration of the theFlaming Lips
this morning site POWERLINE has a video of the 9/11 BOATLIFT. never heard of it before. more people moved from lower Manhattan in nine hours than were moved from Dunkirk in nine days. I cried when boats responding to call for help
Steaks are marinating. I first dry rub the steaks with McCormick’s Montreal grill seasoning. Then dip out a little over a 1/4 cup of butter per steak into a bowl. Before melting the butter add a season all, some garlic salt, and a bit more than a dash of Worcestershire sauce and then melt the butter in the microwave. Each steak goes into it’s own ziploc bag and 1/2 the marinade put in to each bag. Massage to get the marinate covering all surfaces. Let sit but every hour or so I turn the bags over and massage the marinade in some more. Don’t need to add salt or pepper because the other seasonings have plenty in it already. Leaving the steaks out on the counter since we will be grilling them in 5-6 hours. Since I am grilling on a gas IR grill there are no worries about flare ups. Next task, clean the grill and get it ready go go this afternoon.
I always spray the clean cast iron grates with a canola based or peanut oil based cooking spray before putting the steaks on. Personally I don’t believe in that BS about only turning the steaks once to maximize tenderness. I sear on high on both sides to lock in the juices and then turn down the grill a bit to finish them off. Both of us like our steaks medium rare though she likes hers closer to medium while I like mine right at medium rare.
I bought a whole pineapple for the fruit salad. Pick out one with the greenest leaves and the right firmness for maximum sweetness. Did my thing cutting it up and used a little over half of it for the fruit salad. A pint of blue berries and a pint of red raspberries, stems and leaves removed, put in a colander and well rinsed before they were put in. Then two pints of nice looking strawberries properly rinsed and cut up finished it off.
That is now in the fridge chilling. I personally like to take a whole banana and cut it up into the rest of the fruit salad just before I eat it. A bit of whip cream to top it off with.
I WANT TO COME AND EAT AT YOUR HOUSE, RAH. take me about three days from Oregon coast to Indiana. all I have is chicken livers in bacon fat. waaah
My kids call my steaks “Daddy Steaks” and compare all others to them still today. My way is certainly not the only way, and may not be the best way, but it seems to suit those that consume them just fine.
I do a lot of grilling during the warm months. In fact during those months when we have anything from burgers and dogs to chops and steaks and ribs, I’m grilling them. My wife loves it, Takes a bit of a load off her.
There is something about grilling on my grill, on my deck, at my house, with preferred adult beverage in hand and maybe listening to a little music while doing so that I really enjoy.
Salivating … ?
I actually finished that whole steak and a bowl of salad. Two weeks ago I couldn’t have done that! Am now pushing the water to make sure that jack doesn’t cause me problems. It was so nice to stand out there and grill like I used to. Guess it doesn’t take much to make me happy, though I guess some people would consider us eating prime steaks too much!
It’s worth rereading this opinion piece by Victor Davis Hanson from February 17…
“An ungracious and neurotic elite whose judgment is bankrupt and whose privilege is paid for by those who don’t have it threatens to drag us to the depths of unreason.”

Conspiracy To Violate Constitutional Rights | Real Climate Science
Hmmm. I’m not sure about this one.
Looks to me like more of the same problems we’ve had for years: the laws and statutes are there, but nobody will enforce them.
Why are we endlessly yapping about immigration and border enforcement? We have likely hundreds of “laws” on the books already covering them, but the elites lining their pockets keep creating more yapping as a smoke screen for ignoring them. And their allies in ‘media’ who specialize in disinformation back them to the hilt.
There are many of our “problems” that would not exist if those charged with enforcing the law would just do their damned jobs! We need to start acting like the left and stay in their faces while steadily getting louder. There’s nothing in the 1st A. about volume! Killer Cuomo has said so himself. Let’s take Mad Maxine’s advice!
Enough of ‘nice’!!!
I didn’t hear Wayne LaPierre say it at CPAC. I may not have been listening close enough, so I’ll say it. the second amendment is not to enable us to hunt. It is to protect us against a tyrannical government.
The Biden administration wants to ban certain guns and require registration of all guns. Hitler and the Third Reich required mandatory gun registration, even bb guns. They then made it illegal for Jews to own guns. With all guns registered, the Nazis knew where to find them. They confiscated all guns from the Jews. And we all know the rest of the story. The Jews could not defend themselves.
The second amendment is our ability to defend ourselves against our government.
A look through the minutes and broadsides of the Constitutional Convention makes it clear what the 2nd Amendment was all about. It was during the Constitutional Convention that all of the subjects covered in what would become the Bill of Rights were discussed. Some were proposed by the Federalists to appease the Anti-Federalists and some were proposed by the Anti-Federalists themselves.
I dug deep into all of that a long time ago but have gone through a couple of computers since then and don’t believe I have it saved anywhere. However, I do remember that as far as the 2nd amendments was concerned it along with some other rights enumerated in the BOL was first brought to paper in a Broadside from the Pennsylvania delegates.
Sheila Jackson Lee’s proposal is nothing less than the German Weapons Acts of 1920-1940 come to America. The GWA was a registration scheme for the pre-planned German’s confiscation of Jews’ as well as German citizen’s, guns. Jackson Lee’s bill sets the groundwork for confiscation.
The requirements for psych eval are most concerning of all. Lee’s language here tries to establish a legal precedent that gun owners are mental time bombs that need special government monitoring.
IF the gun groups that sue over this, as I expect at least GOA will, and maybe the Second Amendment Foundation, use a sharp gun lawyer (gun groups sometimes pick the lamest lawyers for gun cases) then two US Supreme Court cases give hope the taxation and registration portions of this bill are certainly unconstitutional.
Murdock v. Pennsylvania
https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/319/105/
Background: Small town required Jehovah’s Witnesses to buy a license from the town in order to proselytize door to door.
Decision: Constitutional right to practice religion can’t be licensed”.
Relevance: Should also extend to gun rights as “RKBA can’t be licensed”. This is where a sharp as razor gun lawyer will need to wield his wit and be forceful but not alienate the court.
Harper v. Virginia State Board of Elections
Background: Small town required voters pay $1.50 “poll tax” to vote in state elections.
Decision: “A state violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution whenever it makes the affluence of the voter or payment of any fee an electoral standard. Voter qualifications have no relation to wealth.”
Relevance: Taxing gun owners for exercising their constitutional right violates Equal Protection Clause of 14th Amendment.
24th AMENDMENT
Another weapon (no pun intended) to fight Sheila Jackson Lee’s racist anti-American bill (read between bill lines to see the racism, keep in mind the majority percentage of gun owners are white, however this Nazi style gun registration law will affect gun owners of all colors) is the 24th Amendment.
What The 24th Amendment Did: made it illegal for (a) states and (b) the federal government, to charge citizens a tax to vote in federal elections.
Relevance: Voting is a constitutional right. The 24th Amd made it illegal for the federal govt to tax that right. That prohibition (on taxing a constitutional right) should extend to all constitutional rights, including 2A.
I like the 24th Amendment argument. However to clarify, I have no argument against a state collecting the normal merchandise sales tax on the sale of any firearm. Any additional tax levied on a firearm by any municipality would fall under a 24A argument.

The Holy Apostle Onésimos of the Seventy was a disciple of the Holy Apostle Paul. He was a slave of the Holy Apostle Philemon. His Life in The Great Collection of the Lives of the Saints shares his strong witness of Christ as his Master instead of the former earthly one, which is why he was beheaded.

The Sundays and weeks preceding Great Lent in the Orthodox Church have specific titles and meanings.
“On this Sunday, we commemorate the Parable of the Prodigal Son, from the Holy Gospel, which our Divine Fathers appointed to be read after the Parable of the Publican and the Pharisee.
