Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

I have put this up before, but Christmas is the time for it. The Nunc dimittis and the Gloria Patri.
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace
according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles and to be the glory of thy people Israel.
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son:
and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be:
world without end.
Amen.
I am having a Happy Christmas in spite of it all. God Bless America, and Merry Christmas Treepers!
What About ‘Heaven Is For Real’?
Back in 2014, a popular film called Heaven Is For Real told the story of a 3-year-old boy who had a near-death experience. Afterwards he told his parents stories about his trip to Heaven. This story is often touted as “proof” that Heaven is real.
But as the Lord said, “no man hath ascended up to heaven” (John 3:13). We know that later, when Paul was stoned to death (Acts 14:19), he was “caught up to the third heaven” (II Cor. 12:2), but this was so he could continue to “come to visions and revelations of the Lord” (v. 1). Now that the Bible is complete, there is no need of any further revelations from God, and so there is no need for anyone to be caught up to heaven and return.
The only reliable information about heaven is found in God’s Word. After describing the vision of the kingdom of heaven that the Lord gave him, Peter added that the Word of God was “more sure” than what he had seen with his own eyes (II Pet. 1:16-19).
It’s tempting to think that this boy’s experience will persuade people to believe, but Abraham was right: “if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead” (Luke 16:31).

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Acts 14:19 ¶ And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
2 Corinthians 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2 Corinthians 12:1 ¶ It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 Peter 1:16 ¶ For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 ¶ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
What about Enoch and Elijah? John the Revelator? I haven’t seen the movie and have no opinion on it.

Merry Christmas fellow patriots, may the strength and peace of Jesus Christ be with you. ElizabethRoss1776 we’re still in prayer for you and yours.
I’ve learned to understand cat language. Just between you and me, the little stinkers are every bit as mischievous as you might expect. For instance. I really like back-rubs and, since I dutifully fill their cat dishes with tasty morsels and treats (which, by the way, has caused even little Tinkerbelle to develop a little kitty belly), you’d think that a simple request for some kitty back-rubs wouldn’t be too much to ask. But, no. Both little darlings told me that they paws were to little for effective back-rubbing. Hrumph. I don’t believe that for a moment. They’re just being lazy little buggers, fat and happy on the food that *I* feed them.
Knowing them, I’m sure they felt some guilt (althugh ery little probably) and so tonight as I was rubbing *their* bellies (don’t say it—-I know I shouldn’t give in so easily but rubbing kitty bellies is rather fun) they quiety told me they had formed an assualt team to scare of some intruders they found on the roof. It seems they heard the pitter-patter of tiny hooves. . . Alarmed at a possible intrusion they used the big tree beside the house to climb to the roof. There they found some reindeer up there who most certainly didn’t belong so they ran them off. They also said there was a guy up there dressed in some kind of red suit. So they ran him off too. I didn’t have the heart that they shooed Santa away from our house on Christmas. They were so proud of themselves that I just figured that I’d let them lear abut Santa on their own. Maybe someday.
Merry Christmas, everyone. May we all share God’s grace in this special time! 🙂
Sorry for the double posting. I couldn’t find the “edit” function tonight.

The Vienna Boys Choir with “Joy to the World.”
Got to see them in St. Louis at the New Cathedral right after Thanksgiving last year. AMAZING.
?
Such puer voices.
This Vienna Boys Choir CD is my favorite Christmas music; year after year, their carols and hymns fill my home with the warmth of praises to God in words, melody, and instruments which gladden my heart.
The true, the good, and the beautiful — wrapped in swaddling clothes — delivered unto us for to take us home to heaven. That God should love us this much, taking our flesh upon Himself to ransom us from the evil foe!
Thank you for sharing.

HIS BIRTH AND OUR NEW BIRTH
“Behold, a virgin shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Isaiah vii. 14. R.V.
His Birth in History.
“Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke i. 35.) Jesus Christ was born INTO this world, not FROM it. He did not evolve out of history; He came into history from the outside. Jesus Christ is not the best human being, He is a Being Who cannot be accounted for by the human race at all. He is not man becoming God, but God Incarnate, God coming into human flesh, coming into it from outside. His life is the Highest and the Holiest entering in at the Lowliest door. Our Lord’s birth was an advent.
His Birth in Me.
“Of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.” (Gal. iv. 19.) Just as Our Lord came into human history from outside, so He must come into me from outside. Have I allowed my personal human life to become a “Bethlehem” for the Son of God? I cannot enter into the realm of the Kingdom of God unless I am born from above by a birth totally unlike natural birth. “Ye must be born again.” This is not a command, it is a foundation fact. The characteristic of the new birth is that I yield myself so completely to God that Christ is formed in me. Immediately Christ is formed in me, His nature begins to work through me.
God manifest in the flesh –
That is what is made profoundly possible for you and me by the Redemption.

For a Christmas message, this author brings together the birth of the Christ child and how it relates to our present time and place! I debated whether to post this or not being as this is Christmas Day but decided to post as it is an encouraging message! It’s a short article. (BUT GOD…)

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Celebration of the birth of Christ Jesus has a different meaning in 2020. Do we as a nation understand how this event has shaped our nation? We must sadly conclude we do not. Without God there is no God and Country. Without God, the morality woven into the fabric of our laws is tattered and thread bare. Without God, we are a nation of ravenous coyotes, sneeking and seeking our next opportunity. Without God, our children have turned against their parents, and without God, the parents lost the connection to their children. Without God, the United States of America would be overtaken by the communist CCP and other international groups. Do you truly believe you will survive 2021, without God?
So true!
Merry Christmas to all my Treehouse friends…. You know who you are. Here’s to 4 more years of the best President in our lifetime ! Cheers !
Merry Christmas, everyone! We are all together in spirit even if we can’t be together in person. And isn’t that what counts most? May you all have a peaceful and blessed day.
Here is to another four years of our gracious and sophisticated First Lady and Second Lady – people who truly care about their fellow Americans:
How terrible to see little children wearing masks! Have we gone insane?
Tell it!!!
Have the best Christmas ever.
Kudos to Revolver News for a wonderful Christmas front page presentation. Other than the Nashville explosion and the stuff from Pope Francis (I’m not a fan), there are many lovely stories, essays, religious passages, poetry, images, memories etc. They understand the reason for the season. Best online news magazine ever. Well done! (and Merry Christmas to Sundance, the admins and all the Treepers!)

Someone sent me this long ago – thought i’d share it with you today, Christmas 2020
I Said A Prayer For You Today
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!
I didn’t ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn’t mind).
I asked him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

A Christmas Story for everyone who has lost a beloved pet – have your tissue ready
The Christmas Gift, a short, short story by Sallyann J Murphey
There is an old Christmas legend which tells us that barnyard animals are visited by the Holy Spirit each Christmas eve and, as a reward for the love they showed to the baby Jesus on the night of his birth, are granted the power of speech during the twelve strokes of midnight.
A cold wind, raw, relentless, swept across the snow and scattered crystals, pitter-pat, against the trunks of the trees. The dog sat in the shadow of the barn, seemingly unmoved by the bitter weather. If his body was quivering at all, it was from pure anticipation.
He was a handsome animal; a black Doberman with uncut ears which framed his face softly, making the dog look noble and much less threatening. His head was tilted slightly to one side – intelligent, amber eyes fixed on the farmhouse across the yard. This was his favorite time of day. In the confusion of the past couple of months, it had become the only thing he could count on.
Finally, the door flung open and golden light spilled onto the path. Noises drifted out on the night air, along with the unmistakable smell of freshly baked bread. The dog recognized it all – the laughter of the child, the murmur of the square machine, the man snoring quietly on the couch. This had been his home, his place in front of the wood fire, his family to guard and love.
“I’ll only be a minute!” A woman emerged, carrying a bucket. The dog’s tail began to wag slowly. She wore rubber boots and an old, black parka, with a green woolen scarf wound tightly around her neck. Her face was careworn and, despite many smile lines, her eyes looked sad.
She struggled down the icy path with the heavy bucket throwing her off balance. At one point, her left foot slipped and she began to fall. The dog started forward, but the woman caught herself in time. He slunk back to the building’s darkest corner.
“I’m here, I’m here,” she called to the animals inside and set the bucket down to slide open the huge barn door. A horse nickered from the gloom and two goats bleated greetings. “Special treat tonight” she announced, scooping out bowls of cracked corn. “Just make sure that you say something nice about us when the time comes.
The Doberman, who had slipped inside after his much-loved mistress, crept over and settled in behind some bales of straw. She didn’t see him, or if she did, she didn’t say a word.
It had been that way for weeks. No one paid attention to him anymore, and access to the house had, for some reason, been denied. The dog didn’t understand and had retreated with hurt feelings to watch his family from afar.
“Merry Christmas, everybody.” His mistress left, but the Doberman decided to stay, comforted by the company of others in the barn.
Far away, across frozen fields, the old church clock began to chime. As always, it started with a tinkling arpeggio, “ding, ding, ding, ding..ding, ding, ding, ding, ding…”, then paused before delivering its first bass note.
In that brief silence a voice spoke from the dark, “blessings on you all, good creatures.” The dog sat up, startled, and saw that the barn was flooded with light. The source of the radiance – and of the voice – seemed to be floating in the air, just above the horse’s stall.
“Bong…!”
“Welcome, spirit of the season.” The dog almost jumped out of his skin – it had been the horse who spoke. Well, not spoke exactly, but thought his thoughts in clearly-defined words.
“Thank you, leader of the barn,” the spirit replied. “I trust that there is much to celebrate…”
“Bong…!”
One by one, the animals described their year – the goats shyly reporting a good milk yield, a hen lamenting the loss of her chicks – before each was granted their Christmas wish; a spring kid, a fertile nest, abundant summer grazing. In the background the bell tolled, counting out the midnight hour.
The gift of speech had also been given to the Doberman, who found his mind filling up with words. They tumbled over each other in an incoherent jumble, like a dozen loud voices all shouting at once. The dog shook his head, as if he was trying to get a bug out of his ear.
“And Tramp…” The use of his name cut through all of the noise. “Tramp – it’s time you came with me.” The dog padded forward and sat staring at the light. He had a puzzled expression on his face. The spirit continued, “You have to let go. It’s time to move on.”
The dog selected his thoughts slowly.
“But… all I love… is… here. My job… to stay.”
A feeling of warmth and sorrow enveloped the animal. “You are no longer of this world,” the spirit said gently. “Don’t you remember?”
A picture flashed into the Doberman’s mind: A sunny day, running ahead of his mistress in the woods; barking at a stranger, a bad man who would hurt her with the black stick in his hand; then pain – terrible, searing pain – and, from somewhere, a final scream.
“Yes,” the dog thought reluctantly. “Yes… now I do.”
“You will see them again,” the spirit assured him. “You will be there to guide them to the light and then you will be together always.
“No, no,” the dog’s thoughts rebelled, “not… yet.”
“There is nothing left for you to do here,” the spirit went on patiently. “Yes,” the dog countered, “yes…My Christmas gift.” The barn was silent, all eyes on the light.
“What could you want?” the spirit asked. “You, who now have everything?” “Want…” the dog chose thoughts with care. “Want… to say good-bye.”
The horse sneezed and one of the goats bleated unhappily.
“No,” the spirit reassured them, “it’s all right.
The voice paused to consider. “Tramp,” it finally replied, “you may have your gift, but you must leave with me on the stroke of twelve.”
“Bong…!”
“Ten,” the dog counted, as he ran across the yard. “Go to trees.” He had seen her there on many nights, standing under the giant firs by a little block of stone. Often, she would whimper and her face would get all wet, in that strange way that humans had. He couldn’t be sure, but he thought she’d be there now.
The woman had finished arranging holly around the marker and was about to go inside. She sat back on her haunches, just as a black silhouette moved into the corner of her eye. “Don’t go,” a voice said, somewhere in her head. She turned and gasped at the sight of the dog, sitting a few feet from her side. His ears were down and he shifted happily from paw to paw, almost dancing. His tail wagged furiously.
She reached towards him, but the voice spoke again. “Can’t touch…” it warned and her hand dropped into her lap. “Oh, Tramp…” she whispered. “I’ve missed you so!” The dog sent waves of love to lap away her sadness.
“Bong…!”
“Go soon…” she heard. “Come to say… good-bye.” The wetness started around her eyes and the dog rushed to reassure her. “No… no pain. We will walk… together… always. I wait for you…”
Her tears now flowed in earnest, but through them, the dog saw her smile. She looked deep into his amber eyes. “You have always given me gifts,” she said. “But this hope is the greatest of them all.” They held each other’s gaze as the bell chimed twelve and his much-loved figure began to melt away.
The dog’s last memory of earth would be his mistress holding up her hand in jubilant salute…

Merry Christmas
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs, I hope y’all enjoy it too! Merry Christmas!
So strange, often played in the preamble to a NZ summer Christmas, and heard a number of times this 2020.
…. released in 1967 and was a hit in New Zealand every December for decades. ….
… Every year when they do a Christmas album, ‘Snoopy’s Christmas’ is on it. And it’s 50 years ago!
How can a single that’s 50 years old still be so popular?
It’s crazy! …..

The idea of peace for the moment on Christmas Day.
With a hope, that things may be reconciled, with some “time out” and in the reflecting on that moment, 2000 years ago.
Thank you, TreeClimber. I enjoyed that, brought back some childhood memories. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Yes, it went into the bin. I don’t know what I can do to fix that. But, thank you for continuing.

I found this beautiful prayer for our President on the “Priests for Life” site. https://www.priestsforlife.org/novenas/novena.aspx?id=248 I thought you all would enjoy it and join me in praying it for our great President. Merry Christmas to all!
A Prayer for President Donald J. Trump
Almighty God, you are the ruler of nations
And in your Providence you guide the course of world events.
In your wisdom you have established civil authority
And have given us the freedom to elect our leaders.
Your Son, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
Has instructed us to “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s
And to give to God what is God’s”.
Your Word, furthermore, instructs us to pray for all in authority,
That we may lead peaceful and tranquil lives
In all godliness and devotion.
We ask you, therefore, to bless and protect all who govern us.
We pray not only that they will walk in the way of salvation,
But that their decisions and policies
May protect us, our nation, our families, and our future.
In particular, bless our duly-elected President, Donald J. Trump.
Give him holy wisdom,
Surround him with your angels of protection,
And provide him the strength to carry out his duties each day.
Enable him to fulfill his oath
To preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
Grant that by his decisions,
He may protect our nation from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Thank you for all the good you have accomplished through his service.
Confirm him in his intention
To eliminate corruption from the seat of power in Washington DC,
To secure the borders and strengthen the military of our nation,
To frustrate those who plan terrorist attacks on our homeland,
To foster law and order in our communities,
To protect our citizens from the current pandemic,
To restore and strengthen our economy,
To promote honesty and fairness in our trade agreements,
To appoint to our courts judges who will faithfully apply our Constitution and laws as they are written,
To defend the lives of the unborn from the violence of abortion,
To improve our healthcare system,
To properly care for our veterans,
To defend the sacred heritage and safety of Israel, and the good of all our allies, and
To promote and defend the freedom of all citizens in the United States and throughout the world to live according to their religious beliefs.
Lord, send your Spirit to our President,
That he may glorify you in every success,
And find consolation from you in every sorrow.
Protect his family,
Guide his advisors,
And enable his Administration to accomplish today
Those things that will secure the physical and moral strength of our nation
For our children and grandchildren.
Father, we trust in Your Providence,
Which from its Founding has guided and blessed
The United States of America.
Grant that this trust may grow and be rewarded
As we live our calling
To be good citizens on earth
And faithful citizens of your heavenly Kingdom.
We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
amen
Amen
Amen.
